      @@rungfang27 They literally say that after the President is dead the WF and Florida Alliance are probably going to fight each other.
      The Presidents faction is unlikely to pose much of a challenge though. Their entire political point is to maintain the authority of the president. Even the ones who didn't surrender are going to find that a little pointless without said president. Maybe they will go down the line of succession, but that's only a dozen people long, and it's entirely possible that some of those people are in the WF or Florida Alliance.

    That Apache scene is totally ludicrous. It's close enough to the Loyalist positions that it could easily be taken out by small arms fire and it's surrounded by tall buildings so it can't take evasive maneuvers if need be. More realistically, the Apache should've either stayed above the buildings and taken out the enemy position from a safer distance or hung back and let the WF's better protected Abrams right below it take it out. Also, the sound department for this movie was apparently too lazy to do any research since Apaches in real life don't have 1,000+ RPM miniguns, they have much slower firing auto-cannons that only fire around 600 RPM.

The real thing would look more like a high-tech version of the Battle of Berlin. An absolute shit show with Spec Ops, armor, air support, extremely accurate artillery, short and long range missiles, and there is no way two HMMWV's (humvees) are going to drive through the front gate. There would be no front gate to drive through. You don't have to be a military historian to know that this would look like hell on earth and not just organized chaos.

      This was years deep into the civil war.. the current U.S. Military was a shell of its former self with the western forces overtaking it. At this point most U.S. Generals had already surrendered with only the 3rd term president and his deep loyalist remaining at the White House

    • @e0o9kii
      @e0o9kii 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +77

      The reason why DC was lightly defended was because according to the movie, most of the President's generals who understood that the war was lost and decided to order their forces to stand down, thus allowing the Western Forces and Florida Alliance to move into DC.
      The only forces remaining in DC were the remnant gov forces still loyal to the President.

      The Loyalist Forces are clearly on their last legs by this point. Hell, the movie starts with the Western Forces being only a short way from DC. Now, Generals who have served the regime for years have thrown in the towel and probably brought with them to soldiers they command. Those who are still fighting are doing so out of loyalty or the assumption they'll be shot when trying to surrender. Plenty have probably abandoned their uniforms or fled- It's been suggested that the escape attempt of the Beast was an attempt by some individual Secret Service members to escape DC instead of some sort of distraction. The point is, the Loyalists are held together by the sheer desperation of a man who knows he's dead and simple refusal to think for themselves.

      The country in the movie itself was already divided into several factions. The Loyalists forces, The Western Alliance forces, Florida Alliance, and the last one who's never been mentioned in the movie is New People's Army. It is said the NPA has ties with China, or presumably under Chinese direct control.

      Because they had it. I've seen footage of dudes in Afghanistan shooting AT-4s at rocks. It's better than sitting there shooting at them with small arms while in an exposed position all day. The way they're fighting from their vehicles like that - I know it's just for the sake of the cinematography, but it gives the sense that they were ambushed and were not expecting to take contact from the Lincoln memorial.
