would i do windows 10 upgrade first before SSD upgrade?
I was wondering when you load up the software on the flash drive can I just put the ssd in a drive dock to use that as an flash drive ? then I could use the hard drive for an external hard drive

great vid.. they really put that thing together well. Looks like they could make an easy vid card upgrade down the road if it pops off as easy as that cpu did, if in a year or so you could spend $150 on a updated graphics card that would likely be 2-3 times faster that would extend the life a few years ..
Sadly you can't upgrade the gpu, it's a laptop card
AlienRespawn will not update for me. its not giving me any messages or anything but it does say there is a new version and when i install it, it sits at the downloading screen forever. i let it sit for three hours and it made no progress, which i don't understand because yours went super fast. I have a alienware steam machine I7. same specs as the best alpha. i put windows on my steam machine so technically its a alpha converted. can i download alien respawn as a regular app? or would windows back up work fine? would windows back up relaod my alien ware start up and windows of course? but im really worried if windows backup will load my alienware. well alienware is the computer company so of course. im just paranoid. thanks for the video. just for reassurance im asking..... :( :) Nvidia Geforce is my video card.

+Lowrey Brown This will copy windows over. The alpha doesn't actually come with the full version of Steam OS, just the steam application (Steam OS is a free download though). The full Steam OS is linux based and would need to be dual booted, it can't run within windows.

What pin ram is required?
The pin doesn't matter as far as I know, it just has to match on both RAM sticks.
In order for me to upgrade to 8gb, do I just need to buy 4 Gb ram then?
Yes, technically. BUT the ram has to match identically for the system to recognize both sticks.

Eric Laue yeah.. but good cheap way to speed up startup and windows interface 10 fold.. as well as a few of your favorite games.... then maybe connect a usb hardrive.. you can get self powered usb 2 1tb drives these days for dirt cheap.
In that case your better off replacing the Wifi card with a 120GB SSD.

I guess the wifi slot isn't tied into any SATA controller. So no mSATA SSD. :(

correct. back up is only necessary for the hard drive upgrade.
