Duluth, GA and Gwinnett county in the metro Atlanta area holds some of the BEST Asian foods I have ever eaten in my life. I'm so glad you visited my neck of the woods. If you're ever near Tucker, GA try "Bite of Korea" which has amazing soju cocktails, and the best kimchi ever. I even buy a large tub of it to go. Greetings from Georgia!!! 🍑
I think he doesn't swallow it. Notice he always cuts the video before swallowing food. And that's probably why you don't see him gain weight after all these years.
Can’t go wrong with Jang Su Jang and Dubu Gongbang, they are amazing. BUT! you really need to try the OG korean spot called Hae Woon Dae. She’s been there over 30 years now. It’s by far the best Kabli and Kimchi jigae you’ll ever have.
Thank you, Mikey!💕🥰💖♥️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜 Much appreciation, for all the work, effort, and dedication in bringing us great delicious and incredible food from around the world. One of my very favorite, and must-see foodies on Yt ever.💕👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
i love that you visit lots of places in the u.s. too, so the american viewers who maybe can't afford or don't want to leave the country for travel can still try some amazing food that they wouldn't know about without you. thank you!
@@UltimateGamerCC no need to take it personally. there are plenty of americans who leave the country and plenty who don't. i'm glad he shows us great places to eat everywhere!
Welcome to the Asian Center of Georgia! That area of Gwinnett County used to be called Gwinnett Mall but since the mall collapsed a ton of asian companies took over and kinda made it their own! I used to work about 2 minutes from the spots but have changed careers since covid so I dont get all those amazing restaurants anymore! Its still only a 15-20minute drive for me but they arent as affordable as they used to be! My favorite place was a pho place called "What the Pho"!
grew up on the west coast la and when i moved to the south, people told me that georgia had the 2nd largest korean community in the states... and its legit!
Oh man, Jang Su Jang used to be Dae Rae Jung back in the day and it's the first place I brought my buddy over 21 years ago to try Korean for the first time. I need to go back to get that pumpkin radish dish you got, that looked AMAZING.
I absolutely love large and small intestines, and makchang is pretty good too, but large intestines is by far my favorite. The fattiness from the large intestines just coats your mouth as you bite into it, and savory juices just burst from every bite. I've never been to a Korean bbq place with sliced heart pieces like that though, I'd love to try that! People are really missingout on organ meat when it comes to bbq like this, and you're one of the few people I see that seem to really enjoy and love organ meat.
Dang Mikey, I'm so glad you visited my hometown again!❤ Atl has a massive Asian community and 9292 is awesome. Gwinnett County & Buford Highway area are always a sure thing.
You kept saying "Atlanta" but you were in DULUTH! Don't get me wrong, but there's a big difference and a good bit of mileage between the two. Duluth is by far the best city in GA and possibly the East Coast for Asian and Latin food and culture. I think the only real competition is Queens NY. 😂
It's always just been easier, especially for people who aren't familiar with the area, to say the Metro instead of the city. I have friends spread out from Marietta, Sandy Springs, Lawrenceville, Duluth, Snellville etc and they always tell new people they live in Atlanta. The only time I'm ever actually IN Atlanta is for a convention. Totally agree with you that Duluth is the best part, but I may be biased my best friend lives there so that's where I'm always at.
All the good Korean food in the greater Atlanta area is in one part of town Gwinnnet county and part of Dekalb. Duluth mostly and south of it. Below it are all the good Vietnamese places and all the Dim Sum in one area.
Funny how he said the banchan was really good banchan cause JSJ has a separate banchan store lol. Wish he’d reviewed the bossam, JSJ is known for that dish (too)
Hi Mike! Great to see some of the restaurants Ive been to! Just one note for the steamed cabbage you got as a side dish. Koreans usually eat it as a Ssam (wrap) with rice and that sauce (ssamjang). Some places where they serve clay pot rice provide steamed cabbages w/ ssamjang instead of lettuce or perilla leaves. But of course you can eat however you want to eat! Just wanted to give you another suggestion so you can try next time 🙂
Thanks for coming to Atlanta. You need to pencil in at least a few weeks to visit and even then you would not even scratch the surface of all the great restaurants we have.
@@canadianeskimogirl Korea's answer to the sandwich. Take a large leaf of lettuce or cabbage (Nappa and bok choy work, but leaf or iceberg lettuce or white cabbage are the most usual), fill it with barbecued or stir fry meat and vegetables and sometimes rice, fold it over, dip it in soy sauce or ssamjang sauce, and stuff it into your mouth.

I can honestly say Bite of Korea is one of my favorite restaurants in the entirety of Tucker.
It is mind blowing the amount of food you can ingest 🤯

agreed, Mike is always happy to find good food that isnt too far away from home, as he wont have to wait until year/years later to eat it again.

Yo you gotta try New Super Pho, esp late night like 12-1 am, absolutely hits
Steamed hot pot sounds really neat and something I'd like to try someday. In fact, I'm well overdue to have Korean food in general as of right now!
I LOVED Hansel and Gretel when I lived in GA!

I love Korean food
You’re missing out at Matcha Cafe Maiko in Duluth, same shopping center as the Hansen & Gretel. Their Matcha Soft serve is the bomb!!

I live in Atlanta and am obsessed with Korean food. I will be heading to 9292 Shabu first chance I get.

Shot every time he says umi flavor
Except he's saying umami.

Would another word for umami be savory? Earthy? 🤔

I've been to 9292 Shabu Shabu. The prices have skyrocketed compared to two years ago. Stopped going there last year
“All you can yeet” and “I’m going back to the penis sauce” are two things I never thought I’d hear Mike say
I live in Gwinnett. Next time you come through, try A-Hyang, giant donkatsu!
Welcome to Atlanta, GA
You should try Happy Lamb when you come back to Houston Tx. That place is off the chain. Or Kpot hotpot and grill. They are good too.

I can actually see Mikey moving to Atl for the food and pricing.
Loved this Korean food is delish ❤❤
There's also a 24-hour pho place in Atlanta
Gotta be on Buford hwy! A food menagerie.
Yaay gotta know where to find my stuff. Moving to Stockbridge, GA

ATL WOO
it all looks amazing but at 10:10 mins, i would be careful about leaving the plastic ladle cooking in there with the egg.

Mikey never says anything in the comments. =(
Shabu is Japanese?
Hi Mike. If you are still in the area, we would love to take you to our favorite restaurants.
