    NinjaNerd to the rescue yet again. I'm a veterinarian specializing in small animal internal medicine (60% through residency) and have been watching your videos for years. You are hands down the most clear, comprehensive, effective and engaging teacher for all things physiology. The education system needs more people like you to truly transform the world of medical education. You truly are making a world of difference for so many people. Thank you so much for all that you are doing. Your hard work and dedication is appreciated.

    so basically anything that has to do with "genesis" is the creation or formation of something. But anything that involves "lysis" is the breakdown of something in order to get something else.

    Zach, quick question. If acetyl CoA builds up and goes to make ketone bodies and then goes straight back from ketone bodies not acetyl coA, why make ketone bodies to begin with?

    • @Mtm1423
      @Mtm1423 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lacey Mauritz Yes I had the same question! Turns out they are made in the Liver (acetyl-CoA will become ketones) -> then the ketones are shipped out from the Liver and go to the parts of the body that will break them back down to acetyl CoA and use them (brain, skeletal muscle, etc.)
