BEST BYPASS VIDEO EVER!!!!! did mines yesterday, I have currently installed a JVC and it works perfectly! I even appreciate you advising to just get a connector and place it on a existing screw on the chassis. thanks so much!!
Thank you sir I appreciate this video I have the same stereo I connected the way you suggested and work just fine I appreciate it thank you very much sir..
For the bypass, I use a car-door pin switch in series. Solder/crimp a wire on one end of the pin switch, then the other wire end to the car stereo unit's ground body or GND wire. Then connect the green "brake" wire from the stereo's harness to the door pin switch 's body. I drilled a hole for the pin switch or installed it on any available dashboard "ACC" snap-on, for the lack of name on my part. Or use a Normally-Closed button switch or a rocker. Operation: Assuming you already have a DVD disc in there. After the unit completely boots up, press the switch (to disconnect-OFF), let go (ON), press again (OFF), then let go (ON). Basically, it is ON-OFF-ON!...then go to the "Camera" or "DVD" source menu options.
Hi thanks for your comment , I thing the black chassis ground wire needs to be grounded then yes give it ago and get back to me , after all what works for one does not always work for all , these videos I put up are only a guide , so it up to us to help each other , Thanks again
I wish this worked with the IVA-W505 but it didn't like your IVA-W502. I had to use the PAC TR7 to make it work, which required connecting 4 or 5 wires (easy enough)
How would I get a positive charge on a foot brake cord (yellow and black)? Seems like grounding it is not enough, will I need an additional bypass gadget?
UPDATE - This fix only works on models sold in Europe. Those models only have a parking/hand brake (yellow/blue) lead. That's why it works for them. It only needs to be grounded (parking brake activated if installed per the instructions) to allow access to all functions. The U.S. models are more complicated. In addition to the parking brake lead, there is also a brake pedal (yellow/black) lead that also must be grounded. Then, you have to activate/ground the parking brake lead twice while pressing your brake pedal (or grounding that wire via some other means) in order to play DVDs, set your clock, and perform other functions with this model. I figured this out by comparing the connections diagram in the IVE-530 (U.S. model) and IVE-530BT (European model) manuals, and found the one single difference between the two - the brake pedal wire. I hope this helps clear up some confusion for anyone in the U.S. trying this fix as to why it doesn't work.
BUNJ125 - I got the same thing when I first hooked mine up. BUNJ125 and Phillip - There is a TH-cam video that will work for U.S. models. Search for the Alpine Parking Brake Bypass video by laydown313. You'll need a dual switch toggle to make it work, though. I hope that helps.
it depends on the model Alpine, not necessarily the region it was sold in. For instance I live in the United States and have a Alpine iLX-107 (Wireless CarPlay) and it only has the parking brake lead. It does not have the foot brake leads. So if your unit only has the YELLOW/BLUE wire for parking brake this trick should work and you don't need to buy a seperate Parking Brake Bypass microswitch.
@icecreamgee I just installed mine this Monday. The technic in this video did not work for the INE-S920BD. So I went with the module PAC-TR7 and its been working great so far!
CAN YOU HELP ME, . I installed my pionner w/o bypass everything works perfect, excepeted the DVD, I checked the setting, it's ok DVD plays the movie, but no video shows on the screen, I only hear the audio from the DVD, What could be wrong? I got no bypass yet
hello terry, can you help me? i have an alpine w505, but i cannot see videos. i want to know if i need some bypass device to do what you did it in your video.
@ Marcos Marc.. the problem you're having is the parking break wire needs to be grounded to your hand break switch. there's a long green wire that's ran from the head unit to said switch. the only bad thing about doing it the "recommended" way is you wont be able to view video unless the parking break is engaged. there's a way around that. pac-audio sells a module called a pac tr7 that by passes the parking break issue. I got mine of amazon for 19 dollars. it's a simple install... red to 12V. yellow to constant. black to ground. then you have to use only 2 wires that's specific to your car. I believe it will tell you in the manual or you can check their site. the way it works is this module tricks the radio into thinking the hand break is engaged... don't go the relay route as it causes problems.. so I've heard.
Hi Great video ! Listen..I have the kenwood DNX890HD head unit. The kit wire harness has black wires that say "Chassis Ground". Can I just connect / splice my "parking SW wire" to the the "Black Chassis Ground" so I can also let my passenegers watch DVD's while I drive ? Will it work just like your version ? Only difference is I'm connecting directly to the chassis ground wire ? Thanks
I just hooked up a "new" Alpine IVE-W530 and it simply doesn't work. No power, nothing. I grounded the parking break wire to the unit per the video, but I didn't connect the brake pedal wire to anything. Would that have caused it, or did I simply receive a defective unit from eBay? All other wires (except power antenna and two remote control wires) are connected correctly. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I forgot to ask before - in this scenario (your video), what did you do with the brake pedal wire? Was that also grounded, or did you connect it to the brake pedal? I left mine unconnected, and I want to eliminate that as a possibility to my troubles. Thanks!
I see. I guess that leads to another question (sorry about all the questions here). What do you do with the parking brake wire? Again, thanks for your help on this. Btw, my stereo works now after replacing a bad 20a fuse.
It works but if your battery dies on your car ever, you will have to remove the radio to remove the wire off of the radio and reset it... just keep this in mind...
If your battery dies, the ground will have to be detached and re-attached... It's weird, like the radio knows that the emergency parking can not possibly be attached soon as the radio regains power... The way I fixed this was I ran the ground to a place I can gain access to it with out taking out the radio... I then attached a fuse (or a switch/interrupter) to the wire so if the vehicle looses power, All I would have to do is detach the ground and re-attach it... if that makes sense
No it doesn’t work on w650. I have one. It needs an “on-off-on” signal to ground so connecting directly to ground won’t work. Dont waste money on buying a bypass module. Get a toggle switch. Connect one side of the switch to ground the other to the alpine handbrake wire. Turn the head unit on on and switch the toggle on-off-on and leave it on. Thats it. You won’t need to touch the switch again unless you change your battery or unplug the unit
Good looking my man, cheers and thank you from the US
🎉 brilliant, it worked on my 502r - thank you very much !! 😊
BEST BYPASS VIDEO EVER!!!!!

It works on IVE-W530BT ! Thanks a lot!!! Best regards from Dubrovnik-Croatia!!!

great video, works for pioneer avh-2400bt as well :)

Thank you very much for this solution. It's also work on IVA-W520.
Great system review ! Thank you very much !
Thank you Terry God bless you
On a Alpine ive-w535hd is it possible to just ground to the brake or do i need one of the microbypass switch things
Thank you it worked for me🔰👑👍
I wish this worked with the IVA-W505 but it didn't like your IVA-W502. I had to use the PAC TR7 to make it work, which required connecting 4 or 5 wires (easy enough)
thanks..this video really helps
Thank god i bought alpine. But i will give this a go today hopfully it works im positive it should so thanks in advance. Great video

Palmer, help me please. What do i do with the yellow/black wire?? I have sound but no video.
Hey Palmer- I followed your directions and grounded both hand and foot break wire- it worked untill i cut off the ignition. Any other suggestions?
BUNJ125 - I got the same thing when I first hooked mine up.

Just ran into this with my ILX-107. You're a life saver!! I may be able to get this baby hooked up tonight after all
thank you very must........very beautiful.
What does it make you do with the handbrake if you don’t bypass it? Thank you for the great video.
+1 Getting the deck installed soon. Was wondering the same. Whether I buy a relay or not
Does that work for the display clock settings ect...
Thank you sir works well!
Ty, it worked
Is there same way to bypass for Alpine IVE-W530BT unit as well.
I have the mtvx blu.t and what I did was attach that wire in with my radio ground and it works perfectly
I'll need to look into this when I get home
@icecreamgee I just installed mine this Monday. The technic in this video did not work for the INE-S920BD. So I went with the module PAC-TR7 and its been working great so far!
can you tell me how to connect this PAX-TR7 ????
Great works fine with EU models, without it I couldn't play my DVD-Audio correctly :-)
how about the Yellow/Black ( foot brake fire )? where should i put it? or just connect it to the brake lit as usual?
Its good to help , as for Matthew Conner I have no idea what im talking about , there's always one
CAN YOU HELP ME, .
I installed my pionner w/o bypass

I got no bypass yet
hello terry, can you help me? i have an alpine w505, but i cannot see videos. i want to know if i need some bypass device to do what you did it in your video.
Where do you connect the foot brake wire to?
@ Marcos Marc.. the problem you're having is the parking break wire needs to be grounded to your hand break switch. there's a long green wire that's ran from the head unit to said switch. the only bad thing about doing it the "recommended" way is you wont be able to view video unless the parking break is engaged. there's a way around that. pac-audio sells a module called a pac tr7 that by passes the parking break issue. I have the Alpine IVA-W200 in my car and I tried playing a movie with the handbrake engaged but got no video. Does my car need to be on?
Yes it will work as muff170 did the ive-w530bt 2 weeks ago

Hi

Can you help me? I have apline ivew530 bt...have more problem...

Thanks Terry
will it work on ive-w530ebt
Do you know how to by pass the passcode if you don’t know it
thanks
What are you screwing it to on the back of the radio
I just hooked up a "new" Alpine IVE-W530 and it simply doesn't work. No power, nothing. Looks like a defective unit but very hard to say from here , you could try to wire it up to a battery and see that it not the car wiring
Thanks. I'll give that a shot. I'm also going to try a different harness. If those tactics don't work, I'll look into a possible blown fuse.
I forgot to ask before - in this scenario (your video), what did you do with the brake pedal wire? Was that also grounded, or did you connect it to the brake pedal? I left mine unconnected, and I want to eliminate that as a possibility to my troubles. Thanks!
The brake pedal wire is the wire that I grounded
I see. I guess that leads to another question (sorry about all the questions here). What do you do with the parking brake wire? Again, thanks for your help on this. Btw, my stereo works now after replacing a bad 20a fuse.
Hi, do you have any idea if this workaround would work on the Alpine INE-S920HD deck? Thanks!
No , but it wouldn't take long to find out , so try and then let us know please
Thanks Terry
I'm gonna try
great video...will this work on a alpine INE - W960 as well ?
gaknskk no I tried with mine and once the car is off to doesn't work
Yes work like a charm
It works on IVE-W535BT
THX THX THX
Will this work on INE-S920HD?
Did it work for you?
I'm about to try on my w505
How to set up aux mode
Omg 😲 😱 😲
only works on older models
Che modello è? W502R?
It works but if your battery dies on your car ever, you will have to remove the radio to remove the wire off of the radio and reset it... just keep this in mind...
Why would you need to reset it ?
If your battery dies, the ground will have to be detached and re-attached... It's weird, like the radio knows that the emergency parking can not possibly be attached soon as the radio regains power... The way I fixed this was I ran the ground to a place I can gain access to it with out taking out the radio... I then attached a fuse (or a switch/interrupter) to the wire so if the vehicle looses power, All I would have to do is detach the ground and re-attach it... if that makes sense
that makes no sense. almost all cars would have the parking brake ON when say changing the battery out etc.
Doesn't work for my Alpine IAW205, i tried the yellow and black, yellow and blue and both together to the chassis but i just get sound...
all I have to do is ground that wire?
Doesn't work on the alpine 535HD
didn't work on my w900bt
Only one way to find out , give it ago and let us know
It don't work on IVA W505
Hey mate will this work on the Alphine ILX-w650 model cheers!
#audiobeast so where do you connect the blue and yellow wire
Too?
@@zackaryhosler2502 idk ask @Terry Fahy I purchased the ILX w650 and asking if it will work...
Sir Excuse me but I did exactly what you say and not work :(
I'm a professional 12 volt tech. This does not work on all radios. Most but not all.
I just wired mine to a switch
Hello I have the same Alpine IVA-W502E. I have a problem in it, can you provide me your email ID, that can I contact you??
Honestly it's very dangerous to watch a movie while driving.
По русски расскажи.
You have no idea what you are talking about. The brake and foot brake wire must follow a special order... Get a clue
Does it work on a IVE-W530?
