Hey! I don't use any exterior sites, especially not the paid ones, I just the the portals for whichever airlines points I am trying to spend (Velocity or Qantas). The Qantas portal is great and easy to browse dates if you use the Multi-City search function, the Velocity one is quite tedious. If trying to redeem velocity points on a particular airline (Singapore for example) I find it easier to search on their website first and find the seats I want, then search directly for them on the Velocity portal and book, makes browsing much faster!

Do you think think us flying business rewards from Adelaide to Syd is good value? Works out at about $2.89 per point, using your workout, where as Econ is around $1.50. We did this just last month, but for more value for money, we went via Melbourne….so lounge access in adl, business flight to melb and then business lounge access in Mel and then business to Syd…..all for the same points, 27,600….wondering what’s your thoughts on that? Compared to last year when we purchased gift cards with our points….argggggg
Hey Michael! Ooft yeah, Gift Cards are not the way to go! Sounds like in your position that domestic business is great value, assuming you mean 2.89c per point. If it isn't something you do often it can be a fantastic experience. But to put it in perspective I have just booked an Ultra Long-Haul First Class seat worth $11k for 170,000 points which ended up about 5.9c per point.
Yeah my wife hates planes so wherever I can convince her in Australia is good enough for us 🤣🤣🤣 but yeah I know there’s plenty more value out there, just not for us….
You’d be surprised, I tried to suggest a NZ trip and got “you know I hate planes, no way am I sitting on a plane for that long, we can just holiday here” so yeah we aren’t leaving Aus anytime soon 🤣

What a shame, there is usually a lot of Emirates First Class availability between Sydney & Christchurch!
