UNBOXING & REVIEW OF THE POLAR LIGHTS 1/350 USS ENTERPRISE (Pilot Edition)

It's time to get back to work, and what better way than to start a 'new Enterprise'...
I've built this kit once before, back in 2013 with the Premier Edition. It was the very first issue of the 1/350 USS Enterprise and, like this one, came with the parts for all three ships.
I have nothing but good things to say about this kit. It is extremely well engineered and the parts fit is fantastic. It's also extremely easy to assemble, more so without lighting.
The drawbacks come mostly in trying to make it more accurate, in reference to the first pilot.
There's not a lot of information, or pictures, when it comes to the first pilot model, to say nothing of the differences between the 11 foot and 3 foot models.
However, the one thing that is certain is that the model had no lighting. The hull was completely smooth and the windows were markings applied by the model makers. In order to be completely accurate all the windows need to be filled and sanded smooth and virtually all raised detail needs to come off.
The shuttle bay doors, raised areas on the intercoolers, the rear nacelle caps...all of it.
Opening the box and looking at the parts and determining what needs to be altered is just the start of the journey. I hope you'll come back for the rest and watch my build of the 1st Pilot (The Cage) 1/350 Polar Lights USS Enterprise.
