I always liked TOS Enterprise the best. I always found her sleek, clean and well balanced, a superb design. Everything that came after tried to best her but in my opinion they never succeeded. You have done her proud here with your amazing replication of her, fantastic job!

@@geisminiatures I'm a big fan of the Star Trek original and the follow up films after the series. Of what I'm seeing is Studio quality model building. The lighting is an extra boost to give life to this classic Enterprise. I have several of the much smaller scales. I've seen the large scale but it's too costly. I'm wandering is the lights a kit or made personally. I'm not technically minded unfortunately. Excellent work. From George in Australia.🦘🐨👍

Thank you for replys. It's first I've received so far. Very much appreciated. Do you build models for people I'm wondering ? Is there an after market lighting kit for this scale Enterprise? That's the Starship I grew up watching in the 70s. Always the favourite. I do have the Enterprise of Star Trek the later version that came with lights and sound. I never built it. That's as close I'll get to something like that. Again wonderful work.👍🦘🐨

    - How did you apply the copper outer paint to the bussards and not block the light from shining through?

I still like the original paper maché Doomsday Machine.
When they remastered the episode, they got rid of the original clips of the Doomsday Machine done-up in paper maché.
It's a shame, because the paper maché looked scary-er.

Hi, absolutely love the quality of your finish!
Just wanted to ask a quick question - what paint did you use for the buzzard collectors as they are a nice copper when off but show the spinners when the lights are on.
    Such an amazing effect!

I really appreciate it! For bussards, I did a very light layer of clear orange/amber and did probably the worlds lightest coat of Vallejo bronze. As long as you keep the coat very thin, it will let light through perfectly 👍

@@geisminiatures Got it! I saw the real studio model the other day at the Smithsonian in D.C., and your model is indeed very similar. Maybe just the hull plating lines looks softer in the real deal. On the other hand yours include a very nice bridge and opened shuttlebay. By the way, if you take the measure of a known object from your bridge (say, the helmsman chair) and use it as a reference, how big would the whole ship be in real life? I know the "official" size is around 300 meters, but I guess it needs to be around 400m in order to fit that bridge so perfectly, especially with the viewscreen facing forward as it should (nice choice, by the way).

I must know the bussard dome paint! From your comments it's X-26 clear orange and a very light layer of Vallejo Bronze. The insides are frosted - did you use a particular matte paint for this? Are the colors on the outside and the frost on the inside?

The grid lines are too much. Jefferies watched the ship smooth but Roddenberry wanted the deflector grid. So Jefferies lightly added it with pencil knowing that it wouldn’t show up on film

Pretty dadgum awesome. BUT - The bridge is WAY TOO BRIGHT. And the exterior running lights seem WAY TOO BIG.
When comparing the dome shaped exterior light which is mounted directly over the hangar, while keeping the scale of the model in mind, that dome light - plus every other exterior light - look almost as big as a VW Bug.
So, maybe the dome lights are authentic to the original model but if so, then 'authentic to the original model' needs to get replaced with 'much more manageable and not as retarded looking'.
Anyway, that's it. Yeah, it's pretty frickin awesome.

  • @Thin447Line
    @Thin447Line 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Nice work, but not to be too nitpicky....Your bridge is wrong. It should be offset to port in order to accommodate the fact that the one and only set of turbolift doors is always depicted as off the center line of the bridge layout over the captain's left shoulder. In order for the doors to line up with the turbolift shaft which is on the ship's centerline, the entire bridge needs to be rotated approximately 22.5° to port. You may have known this already and chose the bridge placement intentionally. But now you have to explain how come the turbolift doors from the inside open up to a blank wall with nowhere to go. And your bussard collector rotors should be turning inboard instead of outboard. The magnetic flux from the deuterium agitators needs to be rotated inboard to constrict the gravametric forces to be in sync with the field coils output. Rotating them outboard throws the field flux lines out of phase with the warp field and could lead to instability at high warp and inefficient hydrogen isotope synthesis. Sheesh! What warp field mechanics training facility did you graduate from?

You did an amazing job!!! There is one small mistake I caught. The Enterprise's bridge was actually not pointed straight ahead. It was rotated 36 degrees to the left. The turbo lift was on the center-line of the ship. The small bump you have (correctly) on the back of the bridge is the top of the turbo lift.

      Thank you!!!
It was a tough choice going with the bridge angle or not, but I like it facing forward more. There some cool blueprints that people have made where the bridge is slightly scaled down and the bulge is a spare turbo lift “closet”
