The fact that the goons guarding the Archie's and Maxie's rooms absolutely hated each others' guts despite not actually belonging to Team Aqua or Team Magma is hilarious.
It was so heartwarming seeing them all again even though they are villains. As a kid Pokémon sapphire was the best and it was cool seeing Archie again many years later
One thing I didn't expect tho was he's using his old GBA model instead of his gigachad remade 3DS version, but it's cool nonetheless, plus it's memorable since gen 3 was the first Pokémon game I ever beat and played as a kid

Which has some pretty dark implications: Maxie and Archie basically both destroyed their worlds, which means that when Colress sent them back, he boiled Maxie alive and had Archie drowned Ghetsis killed N and probably committed several acts of terrorism with high casualties Even though Cyrus succeeded, Giovanni had to save him from Giratina, meaning that Giratina was still going to take him, and that Cyrus destroyed his universe in vain Lysandre killed all life, including plant life, Team Flare are doomed to die via starvation
As far as I've seen, out of all the leaders, only four have technically perished: - Maxie died from falling into a fissure. - Archie died from drowning. - Cyrus was dragged to hell (a.k.a. the distortion world) by Giratina. - Lysandre died from the ultimate weapon's backfire. The only ones that "lived" are Ghetsis and Giovanni.
They are also the only 2 who we 100% know of that their plan has succeeded, the others were warped right at their critical moments, but we know that Ghetsis already took N's Legendary pokemon before he got warped.
Writing wise & Characterization wise the best villains are definitely either Ghetsis or Lusamine. Personally my favorite is Cyrus because though he wasn't done justice writing wise, I have a kink for the mystery & depressive element in a character

We don't even know his motivations, what led him to have the goal of preventing emotions to occur. Plus his climax was a little underwhelming because whenever he appears you're just in a midst of confusion of why he behaves the way he does. That's pretty poor character writing yet Cyrus is my favorite just because of my little kink in depressiveness

Game Freak did a nice job making Ghetsis Satan of the Pokemon universe. Being the representation of pure evil, it makes sense. He is the biggest nightmare to everyone who has faced him in Generation V, and seeing how difficult he is, he is only battled once in the mainline titles.

Funny thing about Ghetsis is he uses illegal pokemon in gen 5 like hydreigon and now I'm seeing zekrom use bolt strike and reshiram use blue flare which they don't learn until level 100. I know they learn it normally but it's still illegal that they are learning those moves earlier than normal

Once you defeat Giovanni, you get the nihilistic style which is just pretty cool, I wish they kept styles in Sword and Shield and in Scarlet and Violet cuz it pretty much gives your trainer what personality they have when battling, besides fashion.
They revealed that they are returning in the dlcs for scarlet and violet that are coming this fall and winter, I think it’s going to be in the second dlc.
Hard to believe alot of these guys were once kids. What exactly made them the way they turned out? What made Giovanni one day decide "I should use Pokemon to take over the world" or Archie and Maxie think "We need more land/water!" or Cyrus wake up one morning and say "Imma kill the galaxy and make a new one!"?

Is a very common theory in multidimensional travel. In other dimensions where things don't happen the way they are suppose to, all crumbles and people responsible to that perish, but traveling through dimensions can save them. There is a Batman comicbook about several evil Batman variants that weren't suppose to happen in other multiverses and in the apex moment of their demise they are saved and gathered to the official multiverse to overtake it.
The scariest part is that, the only real good outcome for the world at large is, excluding Giovanni, the one where Ghetsis McMurderChild Gropius wins The only one where not everyone dies is the one where GHETSIS WINS
One thing that I just sold me was the music. Battle is great and they got tough Pokémons... But the music was a huge selling point for me! And I'm not disappointed! (Especially when it comes to Archie/Max, they're my favorite)
Still arguably the best post-game to date and btw Cyrus is still the best I just wish he had Giratina for his team after the connection I saw between them in generations

I still think it’s kinda odd they didn’t use ORAS’s redesign of Maxie and Archie for this game, but it does kinda support that the Mega Evolution universe is a separate universe to the one Alola takes place in.
I remember having so much trouble with Lysandre and Giovanni because I had no Ground resist and I had four Pokemon weak to ground moves. Need less to say, Mega Gyarados and Mega Mewtwo X clapped my ass cheeks.

Yeah, it is crazy how Lysandre changed after he succeeded. He is goddamn crazy and he's really gone off the deep end with that evil smile. He killed a lot of people, and just left alive the Team Flare, and the chosen ones... I remember what Professor Sycamore told about him: "what a passionate person, he is just like the blazing flame. Perhaps his pride in his lineage is what makes him burn so intensely." His passion blinded him and clouded his judgment, and that changed his goodness into malice.
And by destroying all life, he has his left his followers with nothing, no plants, no food, and doomed to die out in one of the worst ways possible: hunger

CREEPY FACT: both lysandre from XY and USUM lysandre have very big differences. Let me explain : So the XY lysandre has a gun reload sound at the start of his battle which means he has the great weapon ready to fire but this lysandre fails his mission. The USUM lysandre’s theme has a laser sound at the start of his theme which means he ended the kalos region. The USUM lysandre comes from a different world where he conquers th kalos region. Think abt that for a sec. ✌️😰
Lysandre ended the world figurtively by destroying humanity at large(Only Team Flare was able to survive) and Cyrus ended it literally by replacing the universe with a new one. The rest have more or less disasterous results for society, but comparitively left the cows in the barn.(Though tbf, Ghetsis is scary in the way he went straight to playing puppetmaster again. Ruling a single Unova? Nah, how about the multiverse? Bro continues to be absolutely insane.)

Anyone else realize that this story has quite some similarities with Spider-Man: No Way Home? Villains from alternate universes who nearly died being brought together to try and take over this universe.
For each battle, decided to make each battle themed with regional references, instead of using Pokemon that were new to Alola. For example, mostly used Pokemon related to facing them, imagine when Gyarados mega evolves, have to use any X/Y Mega Evolution, then follow with using Xerneas (UM) or Yveltal (US), essentially using the opposite legendary of what Cyrus/Lysandre/Ghetsis uses, or using the primal version of Maxie/Archie's legendary, and in Giovanni's case, still did a Mewtwo vs Mewtwo, but with the opposite mega stone. (eg. in Ultra Sun, used a purely special Mewtwo with Mewtwonite Y).
My theory on why the GBA versions of the Magma/Aqua leaders appeared instead of the ORAS ones is because Gen 7 Alola has mega Pokemon. That would mean it’s in the same Mega timeline as ORAS, which seems to only have the remake versions of Archie and Maxie. Just my theory tho

My Team for All of these Bosses are the same. I had them all at level 80 and still struggled in some of the battles. That Mewtwo almost knocked out my Primarina in one shot, but I used a Z move to take it out. Somehow, the Mewtwo was faster than Prim. I guess it's cuz it's the powerful legendary. The only part of this story I remotely enjoyed was getting to face Ghetsis again. Everything else? I could have done without. It's just senseless nostalgia bait to lure in the old guard yet again.

Once you defeat Giovanni, you get the nihilistic style which is just pretty cool, I wish they kept styles in Sword and Shield and in Scarlet and Violet cuz it pretty much gives your trainer what personality they have when battling, besides fashion.
They revealed that they are returning in the dlcs for scarlet and violet that are coming this fall and winter, I think it’s going to be in the second dlc.

One thing that I just sold me was the music. Battle is great and they got tough Pokémons... But the music was a huge selling point for me! And I'm not disappointed! (Especially when it comes to Archie/Max, they're my favorite)
Still arguably the best post-game to date and btw Cyrus is still the best I just wish he had Giratina for his team after the connection I saw between them in generations

The Lysandre in this universe scares me more than the one I battled in X.
It's the fact that the reality he comes from is a world where humanity was ended except him and his team.
This was my 1st Pokémon game. Cyrus was my favorite villain back then. And, 5 years later, he's still my favorite. I love Cyrus.
I remember having so much trouble with Lysandre and Giovanni because I had no Ground resist and I had four Pokemon weak to ground moves. Need less to say, Mega Gyarados and Mega Mewtwo X clapped my ass cheeks.

Yeah, it is crazy how Lysandre changed after he succeeded. He is goddamn crazy and he's really gone off the deep end with that evil smile. He killed a lot of people, and just left alive the Team Flare, and the chosen ones... I remember what Professor Sycamore told about him: "what a passionate person, he is just like the blazing flame. Perhaps his pride in his lineage is what makes him burn so intensely." His passion blinded him and clouded his judgment, and that changed his goodness into malice.
And by destroying all life, he has his left his followers with nothing, no plants, no food, and doomed to die out in one of the worst ways possible: hunger

CREEPY FACT: both lysandre from XY and USUM lysandre have very big differences. Let me explain :
So the XY lysandre has a gun reload sound at the start of his battle which means he has the great weapon ready to fire but this lysandre fails his mission.
The USUM lysandre’s theme has a laser sound at the start of his theme which means he ended the kalos region.
The USUM lysandre comes from a different world where he conquers th kalos region. Think abt that for a sec. ✌️😰

Lysandre ended the world figurtively by destroying humanity at large(Only Team Flare was able to survive) and Cyrus ended it literally by replacing the universe with a new one. The rest have more or less disasterous results for society, but comparitively left the cows in the barn.(Though tbf, Ghetsis is scary in the way he went straight to playing puppetmaster again. Ruling a single Unova? Nah, how about the multiverse? Bro continues to be absolutely insane.)

Anyone else realize that this story has quite some similarities with Spider-Man: No Way Home? Villains from alternate universes who nearly died being brought together to try and take over this universe.
And one point Lysandre does is that Lysandre from Team rainbow Rocket could be the original Lysandre who got sucked by Giovanni machine

I can’t be the only one who wished Maxie and Archie had their remake designs
Seeing the original Maxie and Archie in 3D is physically painful, especially since USUM came out after ORAS
For each battle, decided to make each battle themed with regional references, instead of using Pokemon that were new to Alola.
For example, mostly used Pokemon related to facing them, imagine when Gyarados mega evolves, have to use any X/Y Mega Evolution, then follow with using Xerneas (UM) or Yveltal (US), essentially using the opposite legendary of what Cyrus/Lysandre/Ghetsis uses, or using the primal version of Maxie/Archie's legendary, and in Giovanni's case, still did a Mewtwo vs Mewtwo, but with the opposite mega stone. (eg. in Ultra Sun, used a purely special Mewtwo with Mewtwonite Y).
My theory on why the GBA versions of the Magma/Aqua leaders appeared instead of the ORAS ones is because Gen 7 Alola has mega Pokemon. That would mean it’s in the same Mega timeline as ORAS, which seems to only have the remake versions of Archie and Maxie. Just my theory tho

My Team for All of these Bosses are the same. I had them all at level 80 and still struggled in some of the battles. That Mewtwo almost knocked out my Primarina in one shot, but I used a Z move to take it out. Somehow, the Mewtwo was faster than Prim. I guess it's cuz it's the powerful legendary.
