- Inspired by the recent events on Maunakea, some of Hawaiʻi’s most notable and accomplished recording artists and composers joined their voices to record “Kū Haʻaheo E Kuʻu Hawaiʻi.” Composed by Hinaleimoana Wong, this mele has become a rallying call for our lāhui to aloha ʻāina.
“Kū Haʻaheo” will be included on a soon to be released album entitled “Kūhaʻo Maunakea” - a compilation featuring 18 new compositions documenting the events and swell of Hawaiian community unity around aloha ʻāina associated with the Kū Kiaʻi Mauna movement.
The album will be available digitally through iTunes in late September and 100% of all sales will be donated to the Hawaiian Unity and Liberation Institute (HULI), which provides logistical support to the protectors on the frontline of Maunakea. Donations to HULI can be made at actionnetwork.....

Translation
The sea of Hawai’i surges in turmoil
The earth of Haumea rumbles and shakes
The highest heavens shudder up above
Alas! Woeful indeed are the heartless foreigners
*Stand tall my Hawai’i
Band of warriors of my land
The new dawn for our people of Hawai’i is upon us
For my nation I give my all so that our legacy lives on
Where are you soldiers of Keawe
Along with those of Maui and O’ahu
Unite, join together with those of Kaua’i
Marching alongside the descendants of Ni’ihau
Move forward young ones and drink of the bitter waters
Be fearless, steadfast for there is no turning back
Let’s press onward straight on the path of victory
Alas! Woeful are the heartless foreigners!
Be honored always oh beloved descendants of the land
Let us wear the honored ‘a’ali’i of our beloved land
Paddle on in our pursuit of civil justice
Until our dignity and independence is restored

Nobody knows how legendary everyone in this room is. To have them come together in unity for their love of their Hawaii. Is an extremely beautiful thing

I didn't realize the significance until Keali'i Reichel popped up at the end. I also didn't know the powerful meaning behind the song, I just knew it stuck with me for some reason.

ONE big happy family; EXCELLENT!
I am Samoan but raised on the Westside of Hawaii, in Waianae (Home of the Brave). The Hawaiian culture in Waianae is strong, and as both Samoans and Hawaiians are Polynesian, I developed a deep appreciation for both cultures. Throughout my life, many people have had a positive impact on me-my Pali/Adams family, the Amina family, and especially the late Aunty Ona (Ms. K), to name a few. I am a God-fearing man above all, and I take pride in being Samoan by blood and Hawaiian in spirit.
Though this wasn't around during my childhood, it evokes a sense of nostalgia and brings tears to my eyes as I reflect on Hawaii and the struggles its people have endured. This post isn't about pointing fingers or dwelling on the past-what’s done is done. It’s a reminder to embrace your culture, love where you come from, and always seek ways to show respect and love to all. Above all, place your trust in God. This life is temporary, but your spirit is eternal!
💯
I come from a people of lost heritage for I am African American. In most cases, it is impossible to know of our native ancestors and traditions, which is why I feel deeply for indigenous people, but especially those in the paradise of your native land, Hawaii. My son, who is now deceased, lived in Honolulu for two years. When he returned home, he spoke of the beauty there, an in Maui. The native people welcomed him as they opened their heart to Him. As a mother, I cannot put into words how much that meant to me. It is my dream to trod where he once was, and to meet the wonderful people of Hawaii. When I discovered this video, I broke into tears. How my heart weeps for your struggle not to loose your unique identity. Though I don’t know your language, but I feel from my core, you proudly sing of who you are as a people, and your beautiful land-and once again I cry like a baby. May you keep up the fight; please never give up, for the Creator made you to be just as you are-a beautiful people.
Beautifully expressed! Mahalo and may you see the land your son enjoyed! 🤙💝💐
☺Bonjour de ma belle Normandie , je vous ai lu et bien compris.😊 Je vous souhaite tout bonheur possible , bien que je ne peut sentir vos douleurs à votre place. I got the biggest chill of mana and aloha. Home is calling 🤙🏻
The pure emotion in the room. I may not be a native Hawaiian. I always try to learn the meaning of the song and try to translate the song. I know that it’s been a while since my visit to Hawaii. But it’s sad that you have to reclaim the land of your ancestors due to ignorance of others. I applaud and appreciate that you honor your ancestors, and honor every thing around you including life.
As a native I feel your pride and love of your home and culture. Natives know all too well the struggles of the Hawaiian people. The contributions made by all natives to the United States of America is documented. Stand proud Hawaii 👍✊🏽
This song got me so emotional 😢 love you my Hawaiian people ❤❤❤❤
A proud Indigenous Canada of the Nlakapamux Nation stand tall for the Island people. Your tears are ours.
Beautifully said. We are all related. 🤙💝
Hello~ i moved to korea 4 years ago. I don’t know why, but I was shuffling my music and came across this song that once again brought me to tears. I think the emotion is nostalgia. I only know a few singers here, but relistening after many years, I hear the hearts of everyone.
My 2024 goal is to be able to sing the whole song and understand the words by heart. I am not kanaka, but hawaii is my home and this is a song I had the privilege long ago to learn at least the first verse and chorus and stand by kanaka with mele and kahea. I hope everyone is well and has the strength to keep moving forward. Mahalo nui loa~

If this song doesn't move you, nothing will. The voices, the emotion, the pure feeling of everything Hawaii is here. This is simply beautiful.

I love the Aloha attitude, the lei, the music. the lush paradise and of course the people. I just listed to your voices in your record, with pride and happiness that you are all one. Love you
It was a great experience to come across this video as the world is in a difficult situation. What a wonderful singing voice and chorus. I can't help be moved. Mahalo from Japan
Just came across this now. I miss Hawaii. Been away too long. This touches my heart. IMUA HAWAI'I NEI!
I've seen it many times in Japan, and I'm very impressed
Each time I watch this video, tears come to my eyes, because the song, feeling and mana are too beautiful. The singers are really good. Keep going and never give up. Havaii is a world treasure and
deserves respect and protection. Aloha from Tahiti
I'm not originally from Hawai’i, but I was born on one of its sacred ground. So the least I can do is be happy and thankful because it is a lifetime dream for most people to be born in Paradise. Not just because of the beaches and the Blue Ocean, but also because of how strong and beautiful the culture is and how the stories of it developing through wars and blood have been told, with all family gatherings and the power that’s called ”ALOHA” running through their veins nonstop. It is a life history that I won't ever regret and will never forget. Big Aloha to the Hawaiian Islands and Ohanas, Blessed land.

Words can't describe the feeling one gets knowing the message is being spread throughout the world...not even in 'Olelo. No matter what the outcome of the current struggle, the Kanaka have never been more united in generations. Mahalo ke Akua. Long live the Ali'i of tomorrow, our nation and its people. He Hawai'i au and to the world I send a sincere...ALOHA!

For the 473 of you haters...
Why come on here just to dislike it? You dont even know how much this song means to us Hawaiians. You just think that it's just a "normal song" when it isn't.
My braddahs and tittas, how very much I miss you. I very much miss my Hawai'i nei. I think about Hawai'i all the time. I miss braddah IZ. Long live his memory. I am sad that we had to leave (work related). But when we left, I took Hawai'i with me and left a part of me behind. Aloha au ia 'oe Hawai'i. As Na Leo Pilimehana sing, "I Miss You, My Hawaii." Liked and saved.
Braddah Iz shall live on
