- Here is how I make the broth for the kow piek sen (chicken noodle soup). I was holding the camera myself because my cameraman wasn't available until it was time to eat. :)
The Sen Kowpiek video is here: • C/w Nana: Rice Noodles...

thank you for shring your recipies. Looks yummy!! Your kids are so lucky of having a mother like you.!!
I was drooling the whole time while watching, Kao Piak Sen is my favorite dish in the whole wide world LOL
(not even being dramatic ya'll)
Me too lol
Oh my Gosh I'm so happy I found you on TH-cam! I miss my parents cooking soooo much I live 4 hours away from them. I don't know any Lao food recipes. Well some... But it's not as good as moms and pops you know? I'm a visual learner and so when I call my mom and ask how to make something it just doesn't turn out as good. Now that I found your channel i can make more things! Thanks for sharing!
This looks so good!! My family makes a similar version of this dish except we don't boil onion and ginger into the broth, but now i can't wait to try it out to see how my family likes it!! Thank you for your recipes ❤️❤️❤️
OMB!! Ty for the video!! Can't wait to make it myself! Sooo delicious!
Looks delicious! Making my mouth water. I've always been a fan of Lao style khao piek
I can watch your video over and over especially when you stir it up in the bowl after all the ingredients!
I love ❤️ your videos!!! Thanks for share with us your recipes 🤗
I loved this video! It was perfect, easy to follow your recipe (using prepared chicken broth....not usual, but it's AOK with me) Honestly this was a good recipe and I'll try it. I will be looking for more of your recipes and video's. Thank you!
This looks so good
Thank you for the awesome recipe. I made this dish and it was delicious.
looks good! i like ur style and want to try it someday
Yummy thanks nana love it
Great video!! Thank you for sharing
Wow! It looks delicious. I've been craving for kowpiek sen for so long but don't want to bother my grandmother to make it since she says it's a lot of work :( but now I want to try cooking for her as well as the family after watching this video of yours (as well as the yummy others) thank you so much for sharing your recipes. :D Usually when my grandmother cooks it though she just dumps the whole noodles in the broth and it becomes thick and, well, not so clear...I like your way better lol.
I loved your recipe! Very authentic. I will use your recipe as I think it's the best, starting from scratch... Thank you for your work.
Gail Lemaire glad to help. Thanks for your feedback.
I'm going to try this recipe....tomorrow thanks nana....
I'm actually making kao piak using your recipe right now.. Smells good!

Wow, your food looks delicious! Thanks for sharing.
+Annie Pen Thank you for watching...

THANKS TO YOU! You cook like my MOM and I LOVE WATCHING IT! now i can make it in my own home! THANK YOU and keep it coming, nana! on your next video can you show us how to make or lam? thanks
I like how you added the ingredients here. :)
Looks very delicious!! I watched a lot of your videos the whole day!! Craving for so much stuff especially since I'm pregnant 😊 I want spicy food lol
Thank you so much for this. I haven't had kowpiek sen in forever. I will try this myself soon. I just don't understand when people put sugar in their food. I don't see it as much on Lao people as I do with Thai people. Like sugar in dum mak hu g is just a crime. Mom mever used sugar in anything unless it's a dessert. Lol. Looks so delicious can't wait to try it.
Looks yummy.
Yummm
Thanks a lot for the video!
Thank you for this video!!
Found it! Thank you!!
boobookittay, I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. I hope you try to make it and share the result.
Thank you for your recipe!! :)
Okay, thanks for replying Nana
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMY! totally doing that today!
I love to learn how to make that fried bread. Thank you.
I must try this. It looks too good!
inari00000 yes, you must try. it's very easy.
Looks good nana I would like some.
Never thought to boil the noodles first. What a great tip, thanks!
ritaho85 As I said in the video, you don't need to boil the noodle first, but I like to do it so the broth is clearer when I serve it. Good luck!
I would love to try your food.
I am loa and I love these
thank you so much for your time , but i can't find your video for PA TANG GO, can you please have that on...so i'll learn how to do that....hehehh....thanks again..:)
have a wonderful week end..:)
Yes, kanom koke is on my list, but I have not had time to make it yet.
Thank , that's what I've been waiting for. I never used or seen that cilantro root, if I can't find it, I plan to used Thai coriander root. As for patanko, coz lot of work , I will buy instead of doing, even taste not good as homemade one
yummmyyyyyy
Will you be making a pho video any time soon?
You make great videos. Can you make a video of your version of Pho?
I just made that other day !!!
Can you teach us how to make the noodles? That would be really helpful!
What part of California,? I being looking for it
That looks sooooooooo good. I live out in the boonies for work and I realllly miss this dish. This is torture!
Booyakaa there aren't that many ingredients and not that expensive. Next time you go into town, just stock up on the ingredients and make it yourself.
Good job on the video! I think this is better then Pho!!!
hi david
Hiiiiiiii
Hi Nana, how many quarts is the pot you used?
Making this dish right now! Wish me luck
Sonny Delight you'll do fine, but good luck and let me know how it turned out
@@CookingwithNana came out really well! Kop chai lai lai :) I sent you a picture of it on Instagram
Where do u live? I want to visit u
This looks so good! I've been craving kowpiek for the longest. Should've payed attention when mama told me too. Thank you so much for the tutorial though!
crispy pork pieces is heavenly
Do you know way how to store the uncooked noodles!?!?
You should make a tutorial for nam van :)
True Yang: The noodles (Sen Kowpiek) is linked in the video description. Please click MORE on the description. I can not link in the comment.
MrHatsana, my version of Pho is similar to my version of Lao Sukiyaki Soup. When I have time, I will make a video of my Lao feu, but in the meantime, please search "nana sukiyaki soup" to find the sukiyaki soup video.
Wld lv to c how u mke the ndles! Lv ur vids xx
Lana Poi the very first video I uploaded on TH-cam was the one showing how to make the noodles. It's also linked in the description.
Search 'Nana Patongko' and it should be near the top. That video might be a little hard to follow, so you might have to read the text on the screen and the description.
Im waiting on a pho video :)
FYI most of the granulated chicken soup bases and boullion have msg in them. If you wanted to not make so much you could use chicken broth instead, yes?
How much water do you out
Do u have a video of how u make the noodles???
Yes the noodle video was the very first video uploaded on my channel so the video quality is not great. That video is also linked in the description th-cam.com/video/i2icagFeezQ/w-d-xo.html
Can you share with me how you make your noodles. Please and thank you!
Yesss please!
So i noticed you didnt use lemon grass? Does it matter?? Please let me know cause i wanted to male your broth!
+Der Xiong Depends on the flavors you are looking for. You could use lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves, but they all taste gingery to me. Try it with or without or with all three. It's going to be good anytime you cook like this isn't it?
no pork blood?
Thekhamcox: I made patongko video already. :)
My husband is Lao and I am mexican. He requested i make this for Dinner. Lets see how it turns out
Gabriela Khounpraseuth how did it turn out?
Pig Rabbit, search "Nana Patongko" for the bread. That video might be a bit distracting. I plan to make a new one later.
👍👍👍👍🍲🍲
I request beef ball, pho bo and banh gio.
Thanks
Lap Hong I haven't had time to make new videos yet, but I would love to make these when I have time.
Can you please make a video on how to make your home made satay garlic :-)
Fiona, it is just oil and chopped garlic. Is that the one you are talking about?
Yes :) how is it so red though?
When I run out of it, I will make a video if I remember. Basically, I just fry the chopped garlic in the oil until I get the color I want.
Thank you!! You are amazing.
It's Khao Piak Sen, don't get confused with Khao Piak Khao, Khao Soy, Khao Poon...
can i just add rice to this and have it that way
Danny Sommay you can add cooked rice to the broth and eat it that way. But if you are thinking of making the "rice porridge" (Khao piek Khao) it's a little different.
Why do you boil the noodles all at once. That ruins the texture of the Khao Piek Sen and makes it soggy.
My family usually wait and boil it until it's ready to be eaten.
i only boiled as much as needed to serve people who are ready to eat. Does your family make the noodles the same way as mine? They don't get soggy that fast, but I agree that it's best to boil when people are ready to eat.
Yes. Exactly!
I meant, it gets too soft not soggy.
cool idea, I like it when mom chop the chicken with the bone in, makes it more fun to eat.
