i love how you char the aromatics before boiling 👌 that's how my friends in Savannakhet do it. but we don't do the kaffir lime leaves...though, it sounds like it would be more yummy. sending love ❤
Hugs!! Thank you for the love and support!! Char always makes it so much tastier.
This was absolutely amazing!!! Hats off to you! You blew every amazing SE Asian noodle soup I've had out of the water. This is my new favorite soup! Girl, you rocked this dish! Somebody who can seriously cook taught you for sure! I took the tip to use cilantro roots and just added chicken bones (and then removed) rather than bouillon for more flavor. I halved the recipe and wish I didnt. Amazing! I didn't half the noodle recipe though. Anything else you'd use them with?
Glad you enjoyed it! Thats a great question. We never have leftover lol! But I imagine you could freeze the noodles and keep them about a month. When you freeze, I'd arrange them in thin layers. The broth can also be frozen.
Thanks for making this, my mom lives hours a away and I miss her cooking. Khao piak is my favorite!
It’s so comforting and cozy 🥰🥰
OMG thank you for the clear instructions and step by step directions!!
You’re welcome!
Cooking the noodles separately rather than rinsing them and throwing them into the main soup pot is a good idea. It keeps the noodles from bloating in the main soup pot. I am going to attempt to make these noodles now. We usually buy them at the Vietnamese grocery store that also carries Lao items.
I hope they turn out well! Thank you for watching.
Been 20 years since I had this. I miss my mother cooking. Need some Lao friend lol
And I bet your mother's is amazing. Thank you for watching.
Don't forget to use cilantro root for the broth or simply just the stem :) it'll add a huge depth and aroma to your broth
That sounds really good. I’ll give it a try.
Thanks for the reco! It was delish!!
Really good..i like it homemade..
Laos food KOW PIAK SEN..
Me too! Homemade always taste so much better. Thanks for watching. :)
I'm about to make this when it's so hot outside.
I love to eat soups all year.

Thank you bunches!
I make this all the time, love it. Though noodles are a little bit thick for my taste but looks good none the less. Thank you again for the video.
The noodles did turn out extra thick! Thanks for watching!
Can't you make it thinner??
@@phojanesyhavong6375For sure!! My siblings loved thick noodles and my parents preferred thinner, so we always made both
Look delicious🤩👌
Thanks you for sharing your recipes with us 🙏
You're welcome!! Thank you for the support.
I love your idea of cooking the noodle separately from the soup.
I learned that from my in-laws. Thank you for watching!!
So I'm guessing you have a Laotian husband? He's a lucky man and I bet your mother in law put you to school on this, as a Laotian decent I approve this meal, keep it up
Hello. Yes, my husband is Lao. I love to cook for my family and Lao food is my favorite. I learn a lot watching my in-laws cook and from tasting their food. It’s easier to get it right when you know how it’s supposed to taste ❤️❤️❤️

@@CookingWithKhonKhao I used sesame oil! I love the aroma and I didn’t need extra flour when rolling it out! Next time I’ll try chili oil. Haha
I never add oil to my kao paek sen..
