My question for you all this week is this, what cancelled game were you most looking forward to? For me, if I had to pick, it'd have to be Star Wars 1313. I'm a sucker for third person cover shooters and star wars.
There was this cancelled PS3 game called Eight Days. If I recall correctly, it was made by the same dev as The Getaway games. It was really ambitious and was going to have a storyline spanning across America with two separate protagonists. There's a lot of footage available of it and in my opinion it looks like it could've been special. I remember hearing that the reason it was cancelled was because it didn't have a multiplayer mode and multiplayer was getting big at the time, which is absolutely tragic imo.
Sad bit of trivia: Dave Legeno, the actor who provided the voice and model for Eddie, died back in 2014 due to heat related complications while hiking through Death Valley in California. RIP.
There’s another choice you can make as Eddie. When you’re in the car with Sam you can just plop out and ditch her and it’ll change the ending slightly.
@NoMooreMercyTV Late reply I know but I'd also agree that The Getaway isn't a gta clone as its much more focused on being a cinematic experience. The main story isn't even open world really as you're constantly pushed towards the next mission and even if you could explore theres nothing to do. The only thing this and gta have in common are that they have themes of crime and thats about it. Hell this game has been in development for years before gta 3 came out. If it had to be compared to something else then I'd say its the british version of Mafia as these two have the same goals
When Sam is on the top of the lights, if you time it right, Sam can knock guards out if they're right beneath her. Eddie and Mitchell's gameplay is pretty solid, just like Mark and Frank's gameplay. Sam may be a complete stealth based character, but she can be fun to play with.

RIP Dave Legeno
I was remembering this game a few days back and tbh idky i remembered it having realistic graphics in my head 😭
To be fair, pretty realistic for the time! Would love to see it modernized.

Yup! I think it also locks you out of one of her later missions, I believe it's the one I complain about in the video.
I played this when i was five and couldn't get past second mission
Have you played it since?
@@NoMooreMercyTV no and if i ever get my hand on an old tv i will because on the tv i have it look much worse than it is
As a Yakuza player, the words "Black Monday" only bring back memories of Excessive Yapping
What about licence conditions how comes they allowed it for some cars in the second one and not in the first
Do you know anything about a Remake for ps5 or HD release
I wish I did! It seems Sony abandoned this series long ago, it's a bummer too.
Imaginons ce jeu avec l’évolution d’aujourd’hui franchement ils méritent tous d’être remasteriser
Facts. And the third one needs to come out too.
The Getaway was no GTA-clone.
I'd argue that it is, but I don't mean GTA-clone in a bad way. I love GTA and I love most of the clones, just wish we still got them nowadays.

@@brysonstone8615Spot on.
@@brysonstone8615 GTA is a Driver clone anyway. Driver 1 and 2 did the whole open world 3D thing years before GTA 3 did.
