Then Micky said that the events of "I, robot" are happening in the same year as the next year I felt so old for some reason... Also, I'd love to see part 2 of this game. Your commentary and editing are great!
This game was great. Played it for days on end. Played it over and over, got all the cars and endings. The first time my dad played and we cried of laughter.❤😢
Please play more, my man. Maybe cut less provided how Getaway gameplay plays out, but even if the next video is cut the exact same way, I’d be very excited to watch! Love your channel and love morrowind, but I love the other older games you’ve been playing. Very excited to see more throwbacks.
I'd love to see you tackle the original too. That shot through the stairs was quality. Good engaging editing as usual you professional content man you.
Fun fact, this is one of the few games (Such as Silent Hill 2) that used real-time shadows as in, shine your flashlight on something and it will cast a hardware traced shadow, instead of a fake baked in texture like most consoles of this era used. Not even Doom 3 on the original Xbox had real-time shadows and that entire game was based around lighting.
Indeed, I was playing it again recently and that was one of the things that caught my attention straight away. There are also real time shadows in MGS2 while using the USP flashlight during the Tanker ambush section if I recall correctly . Very nice indeed.
I could never get over how huge the main character’s head looks. Me and my bud years back played this and I love the getaway games but I died in a stairwell and smacked my head against the wall and left a blood splat. I couldn’t help but to laugh because it was like throwing a gallon of milk against a wall… lmao
Yeah, they truly fucked up head proportions for the second game, first game was fine. Later on the cutscenes look fine, until Mitch walks in with his big head cheat activated
I remember this sparked such interest in me as an American kid haha. The game was oddly addictive to me and I remember beating it and being so proud ahhh memories lol
Honestly, one of Black Monday's biggest problems was the fact it was the follow-up to The Getaway. One of those games that makes the jump, but just clips the bar as they go over. I can only really recall two of the missions- this standout police bust (with unrealistic usage of the Big Red Key, given in real life it takes the police half an hour to batter open even the flimsiest, most woodworm-ridden doors around) and the stealth mission where you play as the blonde lass (Sam, I believe) where you're snooping around an office block or something and you get to hide on top of the lights. Speaking of her, the only ending I can vividly recall is the one where she dies, even though in my times playing the game I knew I achieved the Good End far more often.
Man I remember playing this back before I ever could understand the point of video games ( way to young) thanks for bringing back memories of days of my ignorant bliss
Much like the Double-oh-Yemen video playthroughs, I would *very* much like to see this fully played. Just at least once. As someone who's never heard of this series, the thing that stuck out in this video the most is your dry/witty humor. If nothing else, takeaway the fact that I really do like binging these kind of videos while I work or when I'm mindlessly playing thru Fallout games or shooters. 😅
The inverted aiming style is intuitive for some people for two reasons: 1. Plane controls work on a similar scheme. 2. If you think of it as camera controls, with the pivot of the camera being in the middle, if you push down on the back of the camera (where the cameraman would stand) it moves the lens upward. It doesn't really make it super easy for non-inverted users, though.
Whats a "fiddle-im-am" is that gaelic for film? ^^ PS. I genuinley love the irish accent. You and Mike from That Chapter should do a collab. Lets play meets True crime. xD
Micky: *kills old lady* "There's no repercussions"
Except that gives you one of the bad endings no matter what now mate
@Denam Anyway...
He's not finishing it anyways.
Why, yes, I would like to see Micky D dub over a full episode of King of the Hill
Yes.
Arrite bobbi me son
I reckon that would be hilarious..
That would be great.
*sigh* that boy aint right
England: The Game, another childhood classic that I fondly remember for how confused and frustrated its tailing missions made me.
I adored this game as a kid back on the PS2! Great to see it get some recognition. GTA: Tea and Crumpets edition.
mick: they're not ladies they're british
me: [spits my tea over my laptop]
The cancelled Getaway 3 for PS3 was one of the biggest "oof-s" ever. Those games were so special
Technically it isn't cancelled just on indefinite hold. At least that's what helps me sleep at night.
The same studio made a PS4 VR game about a heist sets in London. I just pretend that it's the Getaway 3.
It seems that anything different and interesting gets put off or cancelled these days.
@@victim2077 still on hold till this day?
@@victim2077 it will never, ever happen, not even including it on ps4/ps5 classics, it will NEVER HAPPEN
"brass" is slang for prostitute, and also conversely for high ranking police officers. i wonder if there's ever been someone who was both...
Surely, in at least a metaphorical sense of the word.
The opening cutscene looks as if the devs just discovered bloom.
Ps2/3 era could be described as "Developers found out what blur is"
They were mostly flashbacks...
Definitely need some more of this. Used to play this game a lot as a kid. It's aged terribly as far as mechanics go, but is unintentionally hilarious.
keep talking like the opening of the raid in the appartments doesn't prove you wrong about the humor's intentionality
The Getaway franchise is not only ART, but its CULTURE💯
'The Getaway Black Monday was a game', this man talks the truth.
Wqwqewwwwww xe a x
Then Micky said that the events of "I, robot" are happening in the same year as the next year I felt so old for some reason...
Also, I'd love to see part 2 of this game. Your commentary and editing are great!
This has to be the most Bri'ish game out there. Who doesn't love them fookin accents?
Your editing is fucking great, also I played the free roam of this so much as a kid. Do more!
This game was great. Played it for days on end. Played it over and over, got all the cars and endings. The first time my dad played and we cried of laughter.❤😢
This was a lotta fun to watch...love the absurdity of smacking everyone upside the head after cuffing them.
please upload more of these i've been laughing my ass off the entire time
This game is a masterpiece
No way bro no fucking way what a mental game
Please play more, my man. Maybe cut less provided how Getaway gameplay plays out, but even if the next video is cut the exact same way, I’d be very excited to watch! Love your channel and love morrowind, but I love the other older games you’ve been playing. Very excited to see more throwbacks.
He deals with the PTSD of his first shooting with the adrenaline rush he gets from killing.
Video games. Exploring a wonderful, fantasy world, where a Citröen can drive for 5 minutes without breaking down or catching fire.
My dad has a Citroën and I will have you know, I only need to take it to the mechanic every other day
I'd love to see you tackle the original too. That shot through the stairs was quality. Good engaging editing as usual you professional content man you.
"THERE IS NO TOOTH FAIRY, THERE IS NO MEDIC, AND THERE IS NO QUEEN OF ENGLAND!!!"
They need to make a new Getaway game. Very nostalgic please play more so I don't have to

What about FEAR?
@@fuzzydunlop7928 FEAR didn't come out on the PS2/Xbox gen..

Man this was such a classic. it was one of the best games
micky, no one intends to end their youtube career with an all-star joke. it's just what happens when you make an all-star joke.
as a Londoner I can confirm that this is an authentic representation of London
This was NOT a game I expected to see you playing! Great video!
Ironingboard disappears... Micky with true panic in his voice: Oh no!
I remember this sparked such interest in me as an American kid haha. The game was oddly addictive to me and I remember beating it and being so proud ahhh memories lol
You know you are in for a ride when the video starts with oi oi
Your content is amazing, helped me get back into morrowind again.
@8:08 "They are not ladies, they are British" - Micky D circa 2021
we and my pal used to play driver 3 all the time and just go off ramps to see how much air time we could get.
"I refuse to die by the hands of a man I do not know!" What a game
"Oi, oi!" Counter: 22.5
The lonely "Oi!" is at 12:07
Always love the quick edits and references, such as the feckin fair city theme song. Only true OGs know that one haha
Man I would love to see Micky play Swat 4 after this.
Now you gotta play this to the bitter end
Please do this a series ! I loved the video !

I need to see the rest of this game. My life will be empty if I don't.
Would love another sequel to The Getaway
Commenting to specifically support more of this series.
I'm sorry but the cocaine room, is the BEST secret Mario room
Seeing you wrecking havoc in London one would think you're enjoying yourself as a proud irishman that you are
Fun fact: I just played The Getaway: Black Monday ^^ that was my very first PS2 game back then .... the story is really on a high level
damn micky you went from the morrowind basement losers guild to the dank ps2 guy pretty quick.

I kinda wanna see you play 24 The Game (ps2)
Only played the first Getaway but it was quite amazing back in the day. Great story too.
