Just started DIM the other day, very excited. I'm having some symptoms and my ob/gyn just sort of brushed me off and wouldn't hear me. I just got the "women your age" speech. No. I gained 10-15 pounds in 7 months without changing my diet. Something's up. Need to find a better dr. Heard good things about DIM, so here I am.
Have you had good results with taking DIM? I had the same experience with the doc, they are no help. Gained 10 pounds in four months, irregular periods, Constant bloat and back ache!! 😖
@@Tuyine I couldn't really pin it down, but there were several stressful things going on in my life at the same time. After a while of taking DIM, I had got worse stomach pains and even worse bloating. I quit taking it after a while and started feeling a bit better. But I also realized I had developed a food sensitivity around the same time. Plus I have always had strange reactions to things. Sorry I wasn't more help.

I have ALWAYS been thin - menopause hit early because of endometriosis and then came the night sweats but the night itch! I would get out of bed and get my hairbrush and almost rip my skin off. So I was put on Livial. That helped but I have not been able to work out why suddenly my breasts have ballooned and my tummy expanded so I was once a size 8 or 9 and now a 12. I can't afford a new wardrobe and I eat one meal a day. This has given me a whole new view on things and I am starting a new campaign - I will report back if I see results - this if the first time I have felt hope. Something that makes sense!
The bottom line is to reduce your stress so your body will have more progesterone instead of using it to make cortisol. Minor technicality, cortisol is created from pregnenolone, not progesterone. Plus stress wears down the adrenals - have you heard of "adrenal fatigue"? Your doctor probably won't tell you about it, but chronic stress over a lifetime wears out a lot of our organs. Just like eating too much sugar over a lifetime can cause diabetes due to the constant insulin production.
I am blown away EVERY DAY by you Dr. Berg. Everything I thought I knew has been tossed out the window. I am on bio-identical HRT & I advocated for it to everyone I knew. Though HRT has given me back my life, my brain, my sanity, my libido, I never thought there was an underlying cause for the problems with menopause. I thought it was something all women HAD to endure, the brain fog, the loss of libido, the weight gain, the sweats, THE AGING!, the sagging skin! Ugh! I want to heal my body instead now, because of you. Thank God you came into my life!
Thank you for this lectures Dr. Berg. Would you please make a video about PREMATURE OVARIAN FAILURE ? & What to do with it. What's the difference between POF vs PCOS vs Menopause??
This is a really good video Dr Berg, I have reduced my hot flashes by about 95% after just 6 days of OMAD. In fact I am only really having them after hot drinks now, not all the time. Thanks.
What this doctor says is an eye opener. Just today I was marveling at how I could possibly have Estrogen Dominance even though I just completed most of the menopause crap. How this doctor explains it makes so much sense and I am sure happy I delved into this subject. I just knew my hormones are out of whack, the bigger belly, foodcravings, especially chocolate. Who knew that estrogen could come from different sources after the ovaries shut down? OMG, I did not know that. And I have always, always suspected that estrogen dominance was at the root of my mothers reproductive deadly cancer as well as my aunt's reproductive cancer. But the biggest point is that this doctor helps save so many lives: because estrogen dominance is the one big thing a woman does not ever want if cancer already runs in her family. All the reproductive organs of a woman are affected, even after menopause, if there is estrogen dominance. Bad bad news. And I had an irkling about that. It just all fits together now, this information, like a puzzle that I have to solve if I do not want cancer like my mom and her sister had and die from it like they did. This is huge. I wondered what the heck was wrong with me because I could not shed the belly fat, and I knew my diet had not changed that much. Oh my god, this is such an eye opener. Thank you Doctor Berg, thank you
My Mom lived to 82 years old......very chubby Lady ..large frame bone structure.....menopause at 58 yrs od age.......no hormone problems.....no hit flashes....no cancer ever! Must be good Greek DNA and foods
I wish you would do an updated video on this, and include fibroids after menopause. This video is the most valuable to me right now. I've been watching your videos for I think 3 days straight trying to find an answer.
The whole time I got my period while I was growing up I wished that I would get menopause so I wouldn't be bothered with all this blood, mess, and cramps. Now I'm in menopause and damn, “bring back my period, I take it all back!”
🤣🤣🤣🤣. Right I feel. Funny thing is I never not wanted my cycle. I ask God to let me have it till I'm 70. Lol. However I didn't get my way. This I'm here learning. 😂
Me too! Before I couldn't wait till my periods will be over forever. But now that I've learned what horrible changes come along with the menopause, I want to keep my periods! It is actually possible with the right lifestyle changes and certain supplements. Suzan Sommers wrote tons of books about it.
omg I feel ya. I was suicidal my flashes were so bad. I felt hot and cold at the same time. When my period came back, I was soooooooooooooo happy. I want it to stay as long as possible lol
Thank you’. Pleeease learn well and teach about oxalate, phytates, and how calcium, magnesium, probiotics, fermented foods, and the B vitamin family play a part in combating the oxalate content in the stomach. Soooo many kidney stone sufferers need a good teacher like you.
I just stopped my third hormone blocker meds. Pain was horrible, stiffness , confusion. I need to find a healthier way to block my estrogen. 2 yrs since lumpoctomy, radiation treatment..They wanted me to take an estrogen blocker for five yrs. It's been two yrs. I can't do it, also skin tears , bruising on my arms. Looks like someone beat me up. Thank- you Dr.Berg. I need a natural way not a pharmacist.
Well, I totally agree with the never ending nightmare! Since I turned 50 everything is falling apart for me as peri menopause and menopause, my asthma has turned to COPD and my sinuses are horrible! What a complete never ending nightmare! I really need help!
I know, it blew my mind when I read about that, absolutely blew my mind and I now have the right info. One starts thinking that no matter how much they exercise there must be something wrong when they can not shed weight. Geez, who knew estrogen was connected to all that?
My adrenal glands have been bad for last 6 years. The doc told me the lowest ever saw. And I have all these problems happening and it sucks bad! I really hate the hot flashes all throughout the day.
get a good prenatal- after 40 we r magnesium deficient, iron, zinc, vitamin B,C,E,K all that, u need all that n then ur good again avoid doctors they get paid to make, n keep u sick!
Dr Berg, I love these educational video's. I am the student learning from the Teacher (Mentor) I have leant so much and continue too.! Thank-you. Be blessed for helping us understand the human body & its complexities. Merry Christmas guys. More in 2017 please.
This is such a great video, really love it. We make a progesterone test strips to help women diagnose low progesterone, would LOVE to work with you on helping women!
Awesome video Dr Berg! You put amazingly all important stuff in one video! I am learning about woman's hormone through the great books like Estrogen matters or hormone repair manual plus your videos are so easy to explain and confirm so many things. Estrogen is beautiful hormone we don't need to be scared of it but Estron is naughty part witch we need to keep under control. Basically keep your Insulin low and Fat under control 80cm your waist line for us women. Feed your Progesterone with Omega 3 healthy fats...Learning a lot, thank you!
I had a DNC done that was botched and infected my uterus causing me to have to have a partial hysterectomy at 37 years old. Two weeks after the partial hysterectomy I went from 0 to 78% into menopause the test showed. The obgyn put me at .1 estrogen patch. I was having allergic reactions to it. The obgyn dropped me down to .5 estrogen couldn't take any estrogen, because it caused me an extremely bad yeast infections that wouldn't go away. The estrogen gave me fever and rashes and vaginal dryness so bad it was painful. The obgyn took me off estrogen. I ended up going through menopause without taking anything. Honestly I would rather have a monthly bill then ever go through menopause. Thank you Dr. Berg
Wow thank you Dr. Berg. I just had a thermography and they suggested that I had some signals that showed estrogen dominance. This is very helpful since about 3 years ago I had very low cortisol. I've been treated but obviously some of these things I need to re-visit. I've been organic for years but probably need to take some supplements. You are my go-to health person before I go see my Dr. I very much appreciate all the information that you put out because people are not getting this information from their doctors. Thank you!
all good .. i had some fibroid and cyst breast .. i did change all my eating habits .. and i am much better place today ... no medicines anymore ..just better foods balance .there is hemps milk who is great for increase progesterone . great video.
Too much estrogen caused me to have issues in my uterus and made me 30% at risk for cancer. I ended up having to have a hysterectomy at 35. I went into early menopause (I was already perimenopausal before the surgery) and now 3 years later, without the help of progesterone and other medications and treatments, I have lost 40 pounds on a paleo similar diet. I just stopped consuming dairy recently and switched to Almond Milk. My biggest problem now is not being able to find grass fed or organic meats. In my local stores, they just don't exist!
How do you know you’re premenopausal cause I’m 32 and for the last couple years I’ve been feeling like that’s what’s happening with me but I keep hearing I’m too young
@NattyByNature- You need to see your gynecologist and talk about your concerns. Hopefully your gynecologist is a woman! They can set you up with testing and let you know.
ammolitegemstone you are correct, A federal court just awared a Man who Got Cancer from using roundup for many years, the federal Court awarded him $286 million dollars, but he doesn't have that long to live, so Dr Berg is Absolutely correct!
Okay. Watched it the first time. (Yes, I'm going to have to watch it again.) With every situation, I kept thinking, "No matter what, it seems I'm in trouble." I got...A LOT...of confusion listening to the causes section. I was a little more confused on what will help the problem. It might take several times watching to finally get it.
We are what we eat....we are what we think .How about fixing our thinking... less greed, less jealous, more kind, more sympathetic..... along with eat healthy, live healthy lifestyle, be with right thinking people to promote human well being... . .
I will put in a serious effort now on reducing that estrogen dominance. It is enough we get dogged by unrealistic expectations that we have to look like teens our whole life. These are real problems and when our looks are affected not many people go to the root of this: it is always: well, you must count calories, diet, exercise more. Not so fast
This is fascinating, informative and terrifying, but glad I know this now, as it’ll keep me on Keto for the rest of my life. Thanks for posting Dr. Berg!
GREAT VID I dont like to go to mD s.... I would love to see a vid that really helps us find where our cortisol , progesterone, and estrogen balance are . Really focusing on symptoms so that we can self diagnose , without having blood work done. I'm good on all the food and a toxin free life style ..... but would really like to get a hard FOCUS on this subject. WHAT HERBS etc can we focus on not to raise or lower but mainly to balance these horomones???? I appreciate you so much 💛
I had a large uterine fibroid removed along with my uterus and ovaries when I was 42 .Immediately after , I gained 27 pounds , some in the abdomen and started to not get as much sleep as I used to
DR BERG!! I have been struggling for over a decade with PCOS and perimenopause. It started with bad cramps that led to an ex for synthetic bcps, panic attacks that led to a hospital stay and antidepressants, then migraines, then unexplained joint pain, then fibromyalgia and sleep disturbance, weight gain, fatigue, ADHD, low libido, hair loss, allergies....it has practically ruined my life. The synthetic hormones and antidepressants never really helped. Was it high cortisol giving me the panic attacks? Was it adrenal fatigue, was it prediabetes? Low estrogen? FINALLY, you have put the puzzle pieces together. Because the symptoms of estrogen dominance are very similar to those of LOW estrogen. And the symptoms of high cortisol are similar to low progesterone! Why oh why can't doctors learn how to help women like me. Still they refuse to give me anything but synthetic hormones and antidepressants. No acknowledgement of environmental factors. No nutritional guidance or natural support. I had given up. I hope this video reaches a lot of suffering women AND men. I'm hopeful I'm finally on the right track to getting myself back and avoiding a deadly disease. Thank you for getting right. 🙏🙏🙏
Great advice! I use Chaste berry (Vitex) together with Damiana and Dong Quai for hot flashes and night sweats..works well. Like you mentioned DIM just learned it helps balance hormones..also now taking sea kelp. Very informative!
Hi Dr. Berg. I have a two questions for you: - Can a pregnant woman still follow a ketonic diet or should she add carbs in her meals? - If she is pregnant and diabetic (type 2), can she still follow a ketonic diet without any carbs? You are more advanced than most doctors in this area. I don't know anyone that could answer this question better than you.
Christophe Amrein-Marie I'm not dr berg or a dr. But if you really think about the keto diet it's all Whole Foods no processed refined foods that's best for anyone I think keep the 7 to 10 cups of dark greens or more for it's like a perfect eating style for anyone really just keep foods simple and whole and she eats when she's hungry. I hope I didn't step on any toes responding and I hope it helps at least get you thinking about the actual foods eaten on LcHF/keto style. You are so blessed to have a gift as precious as a child
Thank you so much for the information. So much I didn't know. I am keto & IF and am grateful because a lot of my symptoms have disappeared by eating organic and grass fed. I also stared Dim and feeling so much better
There shall be some award for Dr berg and his back end team.. The video is worthwhile.. Informative ... Such a great angel doctor teacher.. I highly recommend this you tube channel for subscription who new people are coming Watching videos.. Dr berg is highly knowledgeable person.. Thankyou and Regards
Hello Dr. Berg, This is an excellent video that is incredibly informative and helpful. As I was listening to this video, I started wondering....are there certain segments of the population who might be more sensitive to estrogen dominance, GMO, consumers of corn, have a higher propensity to diseases like diabetes and are now being attacked by external endocrine disruptors?? As an African-American woman, I feel this might explain the higher rate of obesity in AA women. Lower salaries force AA women and families to eat cheaper more processed laced with GMOs which trigger endocrine disfunction which leads to all sorts of problems. 50 years ago AA were not this big. Just my thoughts......what do you think??
I remember watching my First video from Dr Berg in 2015. A I am watching this video from 2016 on May 2023. What Long and intense Journey....! He has gone through 10.3 billion subscriber now. Amazing job. Congratulations...Dr Berg.
I was told by surgeon I have oestrogen dominance..that was 3 years ago...now entered perimenopause... I have chronic joint pain and headache/migraines (since 13)..I am exhausted and over it
Stopped by to wish you and your family Merry Christmas and thank you for all your grrrreat videos this year! Hope to see many, many more :) Really enjoyed the recipes too!
Thank you so very much for sharing these wonderful videos with us. You've helped me understand so many issues I come across. You do a great job explaining things to us so we can understand them.
Increased Swollen hands while I sleep, I know it's thyroid and estrogen related. I need to repair this, my body is in panic. Thank you for the information
I had no typical menopausal symptoms but I have estrogen dominance and also insulin resistance even though I lost a lot of weight, am sugar free and do IF. I am looking for a safe way, not drugs, to regulate this as I have ovarian cysts which have been shrinking. I do not touch corn or soy or byproducts. I exercise daily.
At 58. High Estrogen. Breast CA. It all makes sense. Gonna be a shot that puts me into menopause and Aromatase inhibitor and another med. Gonna watch this video again and do all of it.
I have gone through menopause 3 years ago but this past year gained 20 pounds not changing a thing! Will balancing the adrenals help with weight loss? It is all in my inner thighs, hips breast and lower belly
@Silver & Cold People taking the nanotechnology mRNA jabs have been found to be experiencing lumps in their breasts. It was in the British news yesterday. NO JAB, NO CRIME!
Interesting that when Americans were at their healthiest, food manufacturing was done with coconut oil. Then manufacturing changed and so did the health of Americans. Of course, all that American junk and processed food doesn't help along with GMO.
I am 64 had a total hysterectomy at age 30. I was dx this Jan with estrogen dominance breast cancer. I stopped chemo, I’m doing natural things good diet, vit c and other natural anti cancer herbs. Responding really well. I need help with an automata inhibitor because of my surgical menopause.
I'm post menopausal, I'm going to watch this closely. Before I watch a second, exercise has saved me.... Very interesting and helpful, as it happens I eat cruciferous veg regularly, I've started taking iodine but I wasn't sure why, I somehow knew I needed to, I eat organic and I'm a vegetarian, drink lots of filtered water with lemon in it and apart from the hiit workouts on line, started with 7 minutes per day, and go easy on myself, I listen to positive affirmations while I fall asleep... Ps last place you have control is in the shop, don't buy chocolate etc, you learn to live without it and then when you do indulge you realize how bad it makes you feel afterwards. Set your clear intention and take small steps and you can't change the past. You can, however, change now and the future... I did see this... 8 months ago,.... I was fat and depressed thenthis must be why I started taking iodine!!!!!
I’m married to a pilot, so 99% of the time I’m a “single” mom to twin boys. One has severe anxiety/OD (germ/harm), and the other has hypothyroidism and T1D. We live in a 65 year old house I refer to as Frankenstein. I have a lot of stress on my shoulders at all times! Four years ago my sons started going through puberty, and me the reverse. It’s been interesting to say the least. While the boys tried to eat me out of house and home, I’ve gone through hell and back. I’ve gained 100 lbs in that time that just won’t quit. I’ve been told I have Menderes, SLE Lupus, Sjogrens, CREST, chronic fatigue and sleep apnea. I really hate the stupid. CPAP machine! For years I’ve told my doctor I was going through menopause only to be ignored because I’m too young. I’m now a walking pharmacy- levothyroxine (they just found a nodule), venlafaxine (they want to increase to help with my severe hot flashes that are 24/7 I’ve had for year), celocicib for my arthritis, linzess, estradiol, and porogesertone. That’s just the prescriptions, I’m on vitamin D and C, stool softeners and miralax, relizen, and I just discovered DIM thanks to one of your videos. I went from zero medications to all that in four years! I’d love to toss it all in the garbage and stop going to the doctor. I went from eating fairly healthy to eating on the go, what’s affordable, and convenient because it’s there all due to running myself in circles with two high schoolers who thankfully just graduated, phew! Since the doctor obviously can’t help me, I’m taking matters into my own hands. I had my hormones checked. They said my progesterone went way down, and now I’m 5 times too high on estrogen. Then the doctor told me to tons of soy. I give up with them! This summer I said no more to eating crappy.. I’ve gone back to cooking, and I’m trying to eat cleaner. Produce and organic meat costs a lot when you’re feeding teen boys and on a very limited budget! I haven’t dropped any weight yet, but I’m already starting to feel better. I’m going to continue watching your videos to see what else I can do to get my life back. Thanks for helping us ladies. With any luck, I’ll turn 50 this fall, and won’t feel like (or look like) 100 years old!
Dr. Berg, I had a full hysterectomy in 2010 due to severe endometriosis. I'm 41 now and been on 0.1 estrodial patch ever since. I have to change it once every seven days. I still feel like there's something missing. I can't live without the patch, but even with the patch I still feel emotional at times and very fatigue. New symptoms have a appeared as the years go by e.g. bone pain, anxiety, stress, weight gain and loss, mood swings. Can anyone relate to me??? I've also noticed just in this last year that I get chronic attacks of BV aka Bacterial Vaginosis. I was wondering could this be from not having anymore female organs and sometimes my patch will fall off too soon so I'll have to put a new one on. Its a nightmare bc I'm constantly put on flagyl which gets rid of it but it upsets my stomach and comes right back! Please, any suggestions from anyone would be so helpful. I'm so distraught right now.
Why is it even called a pause, When it does not return. I Saw this with my mother and grandmother do this in a flood of drama with i do not know how many visits to the doctor, so i made a choice as a Young Girl. I think taking magnesium glycinate is helpful as it detox’s Estrogen and naturally raises progesterone :)

I can't afford a new wardrobe and I eat one meal a day. This has given me a whole new view on things and I am starting a new campaign - I will report back if I see results - this if the first time I have felt hope. Something that makes sense!
Dr. Berg is SO Helpful! A Million Thanks
I wished we had homeopathic hospital that are interested in curing people not just medicating them 😢 Thank you Dr. Berg 🙏🏼
I am about to start my HRT. I am 44 and I have all possible symptoms of pre menopause. All in all would you recommend it?
Black Cohosh seems to help with menopausal symptoms.
Other symptoms are insomnia, weight gain and difficulty losing weight, cold hands and feet.

Thank you Doctor Berg, thank you
Got that right, menopause crap it sure is!

I wish you would do an updated video on this, and include fibroids after menopause. This video is the most valuable to me right now. I've been watching your videos for I think 3 days straight trying to find an answer.
There's so much complex world inside our body functioning independently! Thanks Dr Berg for enlightening about little known facts.
True, and hardly a coincidence.
I agree the human biology is complex, this truth further confirms a Master Creator!
I prefer menopause than before

Thank you!

@niki nina it's yummy. My fave of all the alternatives.

I had a large uterine fibroid removed along with my uterus and ovaries when I was 42 .Immediately after , I gained 27 pounds , some in the abdomen and started to not get as much sleep as I used to
Ditto. My doc just took the uterus and cervix, left the ovaries. For a year my breasts were so sensitive. I think the estrogen gathered in this area.
I had a uterine ablation and gained 25 lbs immediately. I still have my ovaries but get cysts so they probably aren't functioning well.

Hi Dr. Berg. I have a two questions for you:
- Can a pregnant woman still follow a ketonic diet or should she add carbs in her meals?
- If she is pregnant and diabetic (type 2), can she still follow a ketonic diet without any carbs?
You are more advanced than most doctors in this area. I don't know anyone that could answer this question better than you.
Christophe Amrein-Marie I'm not dr berg or a dr. But if you really think about the keto diet it's all Whole Foods no processed refined foods that's best for anyone I think keep the 7 to 10 cups of dark greens or more for it's like a perfect eating style for anyone really just keep foods simple and whole and she eats when she's hungry. Hello Dr. Berg,
This is an excellent video that is incredibly informative and helpful.
These videos are very helpful, thank you!

Doctor Berg..what do you think about wild yam for progesterone?
Lots of love and health❤.
I am dealing with the exact same symptons you are im on 0.05mg estrogen patch with no relief at all!😱
Clean the area of the patch with an alcohol swap, it will never come off unless you take it off. You can get them from any chemist
I have been going threw the same since 2021. I was on patch but had to switch to pill form.. it's been a nightmare and Drs don't do anything to help
