I have had hot flushes, night sweats and bad digestion since going through menopause. A dietitian told me my cholesterol was a bit too high and recommended lean meat, no more than 7 eggs a week and margarine! Soon as she mentioned margarine I decided I wasn't listening to anything else that she had to say, who in their right minds thinks margarine is better than butter?

The #1 food for menopause symptoms is butter. Cooking with high-quality grass-fed butter, or even putting it in your coffee, may help relieve symptoms of menopause.
It’s important to remember that as you increase your dietary fat, you need to reduce your carbohydrate intake. If you keep your carbs low, you can consume higher amounts of fat. Taking vitamin D and bile salts may also be beneficial to help your body digest the fat.
More great foods to help with the symptoms of menopause:
    • Fatty cheese
    • Cream
    • Egg yolks
    • Seafood
    • Organ meats

Do you know you’ve gone through menopause? Have you had your hormones tested? I simply can not do much meat, it makes me so sick. I’m predominantly plant based. I had a hysterectomy years ago had no issues until recently when I started having some hot flashes. I got tested and found I was full on in menopause. I haven’t had any other symptoms though. You don’t have to eat meat to be healthy. I also know of people who eat plenty of meat and lots of butter and their menopause symptoms are horrendous. I think genetics definitely plays a part.

They do however promote seed oils, tap water, pasturised products, cereals, take away meals, breads etc and allow our meat and fish to be treated with chemicals to prolong the shelf life whilst advocating the fresh fruits and veg to be chemical washed and hermetically sealed in plastic. I have seen healthy woman of 80 to 90 years age who are not having any symptoms as you rightly said we have backup from adrenals and other body organs. Moreover all illnesses are related to our brain. More the brain is in cool calm state and body is physically active .. lesser the symptoms of menopause.

The goat who eats grass has lots of fat in its body, same way the human body doesn't need to eat more fat, it can make its own fat from traditional diets.

This is interesting. I am 51 and started seeing the signs of my cycle not being regular about a year ago. I had about a week of waking up hot about 6 months ago, so I started going to sleep earlier and paying attention to what I was hungry for.
I mainly wanted apples, grapes, dates and Brie cheese, avocados and started craving butter, so I just made sure I had them readily available. I’m not craving them anymore, but maybe I’ll make them more regular as it could be why I only had the hot nights for such a short period of time. My mom said she dealt with them, and severe mood swings for 10 years straight.
I work long hours at a barn caring for 30 horses, training young horses and teaching children how to ride, so I’m very in shape and haven’t ever had too much trouble with weight gain as I am pretty small. I also can’t really allow myself to have mood swings because young horses and young people need someone steady to work with, so I just don’t even allow myself to be unsteady mentally. I mainly read scripture when my mood starts to sink in a direction I don’t want it to. I think lack of sleep makes things worse as usual too.

A good sense of humour can mean a couple of things..it can be in relation to being amusing in literature or speech, but it can also mean to comply with the wishes of another, in order to keep them content, however unreasonable, as per Webster and that dictionary….and menopause makes us comply to a way of life that most see an very unreasonable, but alas, we must go through it to become the woman that we are meant to be in our later stages of this life, and humor or humour is one way we can tolerate the ride into our cronedom, but it is so much more than that, because it brings us women together on this ride, and helps us to see the relativity we all share in this journey we call life. One other nutrient that can reduce menopause symptoms is Lugols iodine. Estrogen inhibits iodine so women need more than men. As a result women have more metabolic issues than men. But everyone is deficient. One correction is that the ovaries make Type 2 thyroid hormone which I don't believe the adrenals do. Women in Japan do not have the menopause issues as severe due to seaweed iodine uptake.

My menopausal symptoms have been severe for almost 25 years now. The hot flashes alternate with big chill downs every few minutes, it feels exactly like the fever and chills I got with one or two bad childhood infections. I never turned on my furnace winter and slept with just one linen sheet. One time, I got really bad multiple hot flashes while visiting a new friend at her too-warm house, when I got up from the sofa, it had multiple rings of damp, salt stains on it from my severe sweating. I was mortified and wasn’t invited back. It controls what I can wear, do and where I can go and when. I live like a hermit in the warm season in my one room with an AC unit. I’ve tried and tried to get the hormones, but am always denied because of my unfavorable lipid profile. I get some improvement now from the anti-depressant that I was prescribed for it, but it makes me grind my teeth unbearably 24 hours. Age 62, normal weight, take Atorvastatin. I became so down, when standing at the DMV counter, sweating like crazy, I complained to the lady helping me, she said “I hate to tell you this, but the hot flashes never go away, either”. I will try your remedy, doctor, it’s the first ray of hope. We shouldn’t have to live like this, if men got this, the problem would have been solved decades ago.

Hi Kimberly, My name is Alessandra, and I'm an Italian lady. I'm 56 years old, and I'm crossing the same hell... My bedroom is the coldest room, I sleep alone cause can't have anybody close to me, i use a cotton sheet, I sleep only with a knickers and t-shirt, I let open the window and..... I live in high mountain....very very cold outside, but every night is a real nightmare for me, insonnia, ansia, flush, I feel like I'm burning alive. Now are 6 years of this "no-life". I know what you feel 😢 someone told me to use an herb called red clover, i will try ....and i will try to eat what this doctor say. Well, I want to send you a big hug and wish for you a good luck! Sorry for my English.....

I'm 65 and started experiencing symptoms in my late forties knowing I was on my way to menopause when my last made at clear at 53. I skated through menopause though once I started exercising daily and not rigorously joyfully. Might want to try it. For me it started out walking down to the end of the block because I was overweight and ended up with me dancing through the neighborhood up and down hills for 45 minutes and I hope and pray you can find a solution that works for you.

There’s never been a proven link between eating dietary cholesterol and high blood cholesterol anyway, it was just assumed in the days when “non- or low-fat” diets were incorrectly considered healthier. I want to get off the statin now, thanks for the great explanation. As for not eating fats to lose weight, I find the direct opposite is true, I always lose weight when eating lots of salad and chicken/beef/tuna, etc., even with the blue cheese piled on. When I eat things like bread, rice and potatoes, it packs the weight on, even though they are “lower calorie” overall.

My only symptoms have been over heating. I thought it was stopping my last fall, but now I'm getting hot flashes again. Not as bad though and stops quick enough. Cold makes it stop faster, so I take my socks off and step on something cold, or turn on a fan. That's it, just over heating which has been very annoying. I want it to stop.

I stopped taking them. The doctors I saw over the years wanted to put me on them again and I said NO! They never believed me that they made my blood sugars higher. I’m 51 and have been doing carnivore since October 2022, I feel great. I am fortunate enough to live in New Zealand where we have very high quality grass fed meat and dairy. I walk the dog 5ks every day and also go tramping, go to Pilates, and am reasonably fit and not overweight.
Still get crazy symptoms since going into menopause 7 years ago. Flushing, night sweats and sleeplessness - every single day. So no 'magical' cure there!
I've tried all the natural remedies, none of them have worked. The Dr can only recommend hormone therapy, and sleeping tablets, It looks like I am one of the women for whom menopause is a life sentence.
