Another great report! Thanks so much! I saw you on Thursday at the Sportsman Show! I didn’t come up to say hi I was star struck 🤩! Gonna get a pic with ya next time tho!!
I've been fishing all my life and enjoy helping others do better at fishing. It just makes me feel like I helped others who have the same passion for fishing as me.
Went last sat . on the san Joaquin up by mossdale water was still clear , soaked sardine fillets and chicken livers only caught two cats, fun either way, current was running faster than usual
Yes the SJ river stays cleaner than the Sac side. The stripers will find it sooner than later and I'll be looking up that way here pretty soon. I like from the mouth of the Mokulume river to Disappointment Slough
Thanks for the awesome report as usual Alan! All my creeks are blown out. My creeks are my go to for bass action. I don’t have a boat and it’s a Quick drive and I can sneak out for a quick spell after work. For some reason all I’ve been hooking lately are big pike minnow. No bass, no blue gill. Too bad. Tight lines y’all.
I make a harness with 30# test mono, first snell a 5/0 octopus hook and leave a 12"tag end to tie a 1/0 treble. Put the 5/0 hook, up from the bottom of the lips thru both and burry on of the treble hook behind the dorsal fin. Use a sliding sinker rig and use a clicker if you have one on the reel. When the striper takes the bait let her run at least ten feet before setting the hook!
I used to fish Hogan Lake a lot back in the days. Caught lots bass and stripers there. When I did Fun Fishing I did a rippin video there when the water temp was in the forties and caught lots fish. You can probably look back at my FF videos and can watch it. I know things have changed there now but stripers are still being caught.
Hey Alan I have a question about a comment I hear all the time and that is lake turn over . I went to Berryessa and fished a couple time’s last week and this week but the baitfish were in 70 / 120 ft when the lake turns over I’m assuming the water gets warmer on the surface and the bait comes up or what actually happens Thank you for time.
I was at Berryessa couple weeks ago and thats where most of the bait fish are deep! When the lake turns over the water temp is the same top to bottom and the bait fish come to the surface along with the predator fish feeding on them. And you will see alot of surface activity as fish jumping on the surface usually chasing bait. Last couple years the lake never turned. I 've heard that the lake has turned from a source from the water dept. but for other reasons I don't think so. Not happening like in the past.
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it VERY much.
Any time!
Sounds good sir if I get some I will definitely put that to work, thanks!!

Alan, a buddy of mine and I are thinking of getting into hunting with pcp. Have any advice on gear and places to go?
Hey Alan can we get a video on Striper fishing Fall vs Spring?
Yes I can do a little video clip explaining the difference. Thanks for the input

Welcome!
U are a true fisherman as well as angler! Ur a Jedi knight!! When it comes to fishing, you definitely know the good side of the fishing force.
I just look deeper into anything that has to do with fish. Food source, habitat, tides and boat control
Tbh, I'd personally like to see more rain. I know it's gunna blow the rivers out, but we need it
Yes we need all we can get.
Gonna sharpen my hooks
I'm going up to mossdale either way soaking sardine fillets , see what happens. Thanks for all the reports
I've been going there lately since I moved to the valley. My nephew has been catching splittail there
Throw them back!@@user-lz3ns4mf8e
If you catch a 10" splittail put him a hook. It's legal as long as you catch it where your fishing. I've caught lots big stripers on them.

Crappie at Berryessa been excellent
Where at in berry
@JamesTran-ov3dk anywhere north-west of the dam 🤣
It's been good for over a month now. Some days it's been tough tho. Caught some over two pounds this year.
Any reports for San Luis Reservoir?
Talked to a guy at the ISE show last week and he has been doing good there.
I like the new hairstyle. All thanks to the wind.
Yes it was windy and cold but this storm front coming thru is warming things up now.
