Great video, thanks. Good testing. I just bought the Spyderco Para 3 light weight with spy27. I waited for a good deal and think I got one. The sale price was about the price of their cheaper steel knife at regular price.
Between 240 and 400 grit hair whittling diamond edge is definitely my preferred style. But, I've been running my spy27 with a mirror finish the steel is just too good on the stones I can't help it lol. Its a very nice user steel strops back amazingly well. Definitely one to watch for in the future.
I like it to brother. I like thag slicey aggressive edge best. And its still razor sharp. I normally dont try to bring mine to whittling hair with a coarse edge. Occasionally i will but i try to keep stropping to a minimum with coarse edges.
@@steel2stone That's the idea over stropping reduces the aggression on the coarse edges so doing the deburring on the stone and keeping the strops to a minimum is the goal. I've gotten hair whittling edges off the 240 venev no strop its all about pressure. More people are seeing the benefits of a coarse edge people keep preaching it and hopefully we can start a revolution lol
I've been happy with mine, the way it strops back so well after a lot of use is very nice. Definitely a good user steel.
Its a good steel.. Just wish it was cheaper
@@steel2stone I agree.
I really like it as a good everyday user, Para 3LW

Any experience on spy27 at 600-800 grit
How is the lock up on it? I have the manix 2 lw in rex45 terrible lock stick!
Its great on this one. But ive had that problem before. Sometimes lube on the tang will help.
Subbed!
