@@williamegler8771 great gag. Original work too. Sadly it doesn't work under a Volvo review. Copy and paste into a Range Rover video and you'll get lots of likes
Looks great Good vehicle 1). Volvo do not do electric steering column adjustment because the steering column deforms worse in crash / impact situations 2). Camera clearly showed a 20” wheel She said V90 is 19” wheels That car is R Design, so that’s probably why it was on 20” wheels
Safety (simply the best), Build (solidly assembled like a tank), Design (simply gorgeous), Reliability (better than any German make), Ergonomics (superb driving position and best seats - all variants included and I have sat in all of them: my preference is for Inscription Pro ones which feel like a second skin on your back in case you find yourself wearing a shirt or something with thin fabric but the ones in the R-Design are faultless and the best looking and the ones on the base trim model are super comfy - in business) make this my daily driver. Yes I would prefer rear wheel drive like BMW or MB do it (but the Volvo will outperform these on snowy roads) and a PDK-like auto box rather than a torque converter (which is quite ok anyway). The Peugeot 508 does have gorgeous frameless windows not found in any other estate to my knowledge. Overall nobody does it all and the Volvo nails it for me. All diesels can achieve superb economy if the driver is willing to accommodate for that.
The car to have in this class if you want your family to survive a crash that can't be avoided. As always with Volvo. Still their biggest priority and that's what you pay for.
Perhaps, IF the voice-command software is working properly (in my XC60, it’s often not), and IF you’re not in conversation with others (or others conversing in your car), and IF you are ok with interrupting listening to radio/music
I have a Cross-country version on 19" wheels. I find the ride to be excellent. As is everything else about except the folding down of the rear seats. My old XC70 the seat squad came up and then the back came down to give a flat floor and that lip. I wish they had done this with the V90.
On the XC70 you could even remove the seat bases to give a little more space. Good for a tall driver. The rear seats were slightly higher, more comfortable for tall passengers in the back, as the seats support more of the leg.
I think it's a great car and handles well. The steering is sharp and precise, like any electronic steering systems these days. I smelled a bit of bias in this review. Perhaps didn't want to upset the German rivals.
I would like to find the plug-in E-Klasse she mentioned. At least in Germany isn’t anywhere to find (speaking about the boot space). Volvo is a class leading plug-in estate.
I love how she makes reviews but saying that its a very heavy car without the actual weight it's not ok. Also she only gives the ufficial electric range
The day you could no longer fit a three seat sofa 🛋 in the back of a Volvo estate is when the suv for them took over from those estates 🏡 The hot 🥵 V70 🚗 though, 🤔 now that’s a different story 🤩
It will have a total power of 340 horsepower and 590 newton meters. So when you use the power mode, both the petrol engine and the electric motor are used at the same time. The petrol engine 253 horsepower. the electric motor 87 horsepower
Okay Rebecca the one thing every reviewer misses out on telling us motorists is the turning circle size, as this is a Volvo Estate and therefore knowing Volvo as I do, then a 3 point turning circle is hard to achieve. Try 5 points if you are lucky and have space on the roads to do so due to its long wheelbase. Otherwise anyone know next weeks National Lottery numbers as I quite fancy having one of these?
Motoring critics these days drive me mad. They will always (as in this case) go for the sportiest model. The suspension in an R design Volvo is like driving on rocks. So hard it's untrue. I know, I've driven one. Why not test the Inscription model which has softer suspension and is more comfortable. Also, you correctly pointed out that the screen is a pain. Accessing items on the screen whilst on the motorway is downright dangerous. Rant over.
Used to buy V70 estates many moons ago but have since abandoned the brand. 560L of space in Volvo's biggest estate or in other words it's smaller than a Ford Focus estate, a VW Golf estate and a Peugeot 308 estate to name but a few. Heck even a Toyota Corolla estate has more room. Volvo estates lost their mojo years ago.
Had a V90 D4 for about 3 months….that was enough ! Good on fuel, but the build wasn’t that good and the car was very noisy with odd switchgear…don’t think I’ll be buying another one.
Regarding the boot, your numbers are way off. The BMW 5series and the Mercedes E-class is way smaller due to the batteries in the trunk. You can´t compare it to the petrol or diesel versions.
It may not sound so logical to buy a car with 340 horses just to drive around town. if, on the other hand, you are going out on fun roads out of town then it might be more interesting
I disagree with you, first you should say that, use the technology for the first time its may confusing but once you know your car its the must easy and secure car. The best fusion will be E Class Mercedes with the volvo safety system. No audi or BMW can mach this two models. I spent years with Audi A6, now only volvo. I don't like your presentation,

One of the best looking estates on the market, if not THE best!
Peugeot 508 is sweet too
Rebecca could review a Toyota Aygo, I would still watch.
Dreamy.
I’ve got the cross country version. Love it.
The better version. 👍
Cross country wagon with extended-range PHEV battery would be the best
Changing the temperature in the car can be done via the voice control so there is no need to fiddle with the screen if you are driving.

You will always find that bias in the motoring journalist, i wonder why?
I sure wish they’d bring this to America with the extended-range battery… make it a cross country wagon & I’d buy it in a heartbeat
There just is no American market for it. There is no chance it would get established.
A brilliant review ❤
It's a shame they don't offer this plug in model in the US. :(

I would choose this over the German rivals because it's something a bit different and I'm also a fan of Swedish engineering.

The turning circle is tiny compared to my old 850. It's very nimble for a big car
Why is the T8 model not offered in the UK?
It is now
Shouldn’t you be comparing plug-in hybrid boot space vs plug-in boot space? You didn’t comment about the battery placement at all?

"Heavy on breaks" - it's expected, calipers look kinda small for a relatively large car.
