- This is the Volvo V90 B4 model. The B4 V90 is a mild hybrid - we have a 2.0 L petrol engine combined with an electric motor and a total power of 214 horses. Can this posh Volvo compete against the Germans? Come with me to find out what the V90 is all about!

I've been running a V90 D4 cross country for a couple of years now. I have to say, it is completely stress free and superbly comfortable on long journeys.
I just bought one! A 2017 D4 v90 cross country and its awesome! Higher mileage to save money but its been so well looked after! One thing is the rear parking sensor beeps and shows object distance but I get nothing from front, is that normal.

Oh it sure is, you can see that on the video, I should have cleaned it really but it just shows you when you moisturise your hands regularly, this is what happens
I install touchscreens at work,beleive me they are all fingerprint magnets.Nothing to do with Volvo
Like the interior, don't like the sound of the 4 cylinder engine too raucous under acceleration.

Great review as always Anna!! Thanks! Loved the interior, but for a car that size the rear seat should be able to accommodate 3 people comfortably. However, for all that it is and the price, I think they did a great job.

@@funkymonkey1198 just sold xc90, Inscription, 2019. Had to install Polestar in order to improve the gear changes. Anyway, good car, but years behind Germans 6 cilinders

Hola Anna! Estupendo video. Definitivamente no, con semejante automóvil nadie necesita de un SUV. El Volvo V90 B4 lo tiene todo: un diseño muy atractivo, gran espacio, comodidad, calidad, etc. Quizás, para muchos la motorización de 214 hp sea algo insuficiente, pero para eso están otras versiones disponibles. La verdad, yo me comformo así. Tanto el V90 como el S90, me encantan.

I drive a V90 D4 R-Design. My second Volvo after my previous V60 D2 R-Design which I had from new and sold with about 200,000 miles on the clock: problems I had? Absolutely none. My V90 is not that leggy (yet...) but so far zero issues. There is something else in the garage for sport / dynamic driving and that makes my Volvo estate ideal as it fills the gap nicely as it does everything else perfectly. The best about Volvos? reliability, longevity, and a long lasting design and nothing else on the market ages so well in overall terms. This is on top of its legendary safety and ergonomics where Volvo seats are famous for its amazing comfort. Thanks for another excellent test drive and for the comments about diesel power: very true and besides that, with the mileage I do, nothing else is suitable. Killing technologies by decree is political ignorance and non-sense. Let the market decide as normally the consumer knows well what it fits their bills rather than imposing solutions no one knows how well or badly they will pan out and which in many countries are completely impractical with almost no future - this is one planet but from left and right people tend to forget that...and one only needs to look at the US to see how different the east coast is from the west coast...1 same country but with different realities across the board...

Anna, you have to have the key near/on you to activate the ‘kick’ feature for the tailgate. It then works very well.
Mine works about once about every 5 kicks,been back to volvo but no better.Still love the car.T5 r design pro👍

This Volvo is prety Good but I prefer BMW 540. The R6 engine is suitable for the premium class.

unfortunately the rules forced volvo to choose only 2 liters engines to save money on devolepments , and abandoning diesels 💔.
My dad had a Volvo V40 1.9 tdi 120hp , amazing volvo .
Also I don't like this choice of the 180km/h limit.

Hey Anna... sunshine and rainbows? Now you're in my neighborhood testing the V90. Looking at the specifications.. which you do flawlessly by the way. The old 70 series T5 where 245 horses.. and my 2 R's are 300 ponies. So, I'm a little underwhelmed by the new stats, but like you say.. 42,000€? .. yeah, you get alot for the money honey. I don't want to be portrayed as a sexist, however, you and that wagon are just that .. sexy. Another top shelf review! Ciao.
Hi Anna! Thank you for your video which was good and you had a nice suit that matched well with the color of the car. Regarding diesel, only governments in different countries lie about how dangerous this fuel should be for the environment, it's all really about how these countries get less tax revenue on diesel cars, as they do not have to refuel as often as petrol and other fuels. Because if diesel were as dangerous as one tries to claim, these diesel cars would not be allowed to be used in underground mines as they do. On the other hand, petrol cars are prohibited for use in underground mines precisely because of the toxic emissions of petrol and in larger amounts of emissions than diesel. I have been in discussions several times about how dangerous diesel would be and every time I mention that diesel cars are used underground but it is totally forbidden with petrol cars, these people are silent and some admit that they are lying because the state loses billion every year, because they do not have to refuel so often. (Writes this mainly so that those who watch your videos will not be fooled).
Volvo defiantly knows how to make estate cars and make them beautiful looking. that interior looks stunning and great idea with the mobile charging clamp. Anna, you still having boot problems LOL, but it is great all these techs like the swipe boot tail sensor thing but it is a bit annoying when they don't work when you want to show them off. Not bad on mpg. Sorry for questioning this Anna but how is it got 214bhp when the engine is pushing out 197bhp and the hybrid part is pushing out 14bhp? Surely it would be 211bhp. I guess they just round it up to 214bhp? Those diesel haters will really hate me as 2 diesel cars on my driveway. I've got a 3.0L v6 bi-turbo and a long-term loan car which is 1.6L. But well said Anna about the whole diesel thing. Brilliant review and great video as always Anna. All the best Anna. :-)
Your wardrobe must cost a fortune, you always look fantastic. Think your shoes where too stylish for the sensor. Does make me think about driving around in a big SUV, always loved having an estate.

I have one of the first uk 2022 xc60 with google infotainment. B4,b5 do not come with drive modes now, apple car play currently not available and volvo on call does not work with the new infotainment. No dates yet on apple car play as it should be standard and the wireless charging pad now standard barely works with apple phones but works fine with android. A few unhappy customer here in the UK as these features were sold with the car 😒 get ya self a 2022 model to review, love to hear your thought's 👍

I was never a fan of the SUV and I always preferred the cars what do you suggest either the s90 or the v90 with comfort being the most important to me
Hi Michael, SUV will never win with the physics and an estate or a saloon will always handle any curves better. S90 is more comfortable, I would only consider the V90 if you needed the boot space. both great cars but the S90 is superior when it comes to comfort.

The problem with this car for me is the boot capacity. If you buy a SW version of a car like this you surely need space. And for this the Skoda superb sw will be the best choice even if we're talking about the same class.

Nope, don't need another potato shaped SUV. This Sexy Wagon is much better 😍. Volvo really knows how to design a good looking wagon. I'd get the V60 though, it's a bit more maneuverable.
I've got a 2020 V60 CC, LOVE IT especially the Bowers audio! I live north of Boston here in the US and the heated wheel, seats and wipers are awesome aswell.
The music is too loud compared to Anna's voice. This makes it hard to tune the volume.
Why don’t you do a comparison with the BMW 5 series Touring and a Mercedes E-classe estate or an Audi A6 Avant to see which one is best?
I would love to but it come down to availability of the press cars. Which more often than not, is very limited.

@@FinleyESB how are other companies keeping producing 6, 8 cylinder engines then? Volvo chose profit over performance when they decided to use the same 4 cylinder engines on all their cars since 2017.
