    This is the best diy approach for this I’ve seen so far, this is most inexpensive way so far that I’ve found

    I have a car with a 2.0t tsi and recently cleaned and put new seals on my injectors as part of the intake valve cleanout process. I could not get the white seals, once installed, to fit flush enough on the injector to fit back into the engine based on this video's instructions. To get it to work I wrapped the seals in painters tape, then a few layers of electrical tape, then wrapped that in a zip tie as tight as possible and left overnight. In the morning they STILL would not fit so each was lubed with alcohol and pressed into place by tapping the back of a rubber mallet set on the back of each injector. Hope this helps someone whose injector aren't fitting back in.

    Didnt have the injector tool but this did help , the pen shaft is a great trick . I also used a 3 small cable ties with a cable tie gun and gradually pulled it up . Nice video .got me out of trouble

    I use a zip tie just to squeeze the seal, and once I see that it has been tight a bit, I just use the injector hole to get tight to its standards... after the zip tie, dont put any brackets on the injector, and slowly push it back into you fuel injector hole on the block, dont crazy force it, wiggle it a bit, and wham!!! leave it there for 1 minute, and pull it back out, and see how flush the seal is..... :) the tool they use to squeeze the seal flushed with the injector is the same hole in the engine. lol.... get it?

    Thanks for the video. Think I'm gonna give this a try on my car. I just installed new injectors, put it all back together and sure as shit its pissing fuel out from bottom of manifold. Obviously I have one or more injectors not seating properly.
    I bought new injectors with the seals pre-installed from factory. I guess they think its a good idea to not pre-compress those damn Teflon seals. Probably to keep you on the line to upsell that stupid tool.
    The part store in my area do not have one in stock. Google search results only give me options from drop shippers or overpriced rebranded kits sold by other popular companies.
    Anyway, thanks again!

      I wish you good luck! It worked fine for me. Of course now I have a 7.5 GTI, and I’m pretty well done with modding and all that crap. It was fun while it lasted though 👍🏻

    Is it ok to add a little silicon grease to facilitate the install on that white seal?? I’m having a heck of a time even with the speciality tool haha😅

    any issues with fuel leaking from not using the tool?

    • @e.r.1492
      @e.r.1492  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Jeremy Teahon no, I never had any problems. I actually had to pull the manifold back off to get a wire free from there, and double checked it... looked fine 👍

      I think you missed the point of that seal. It's not a fuel seal it's a compression seal.

    thumbs down. I know the right tool is expensive, but this way is gambling....good luck if it is leaking later, high pressure, fuel...who cares ;-)

    • @sauce1182
      @sauce1182 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i agree.. I have changed many TSI injectors and aftermarket increased flow injectors. This is 100% a gamble. If you see when you first put it on the pen it is slanted on the one side. the tool keeps it even and provides even pressure when sliding the teflon seal onto the injector and also when 'crimping' it evenly around the indent. I have had misfires and fails from that very seal leaking and melting. It can melt if it is not making good contact with the injector, which is cooled by the fuel flow. In a pinch, this could work, but I wouldn't try it on a customers car...
