Can I just say I love your cartoon background on your profile page? Coutos to whoever drew them. If I could make one suggestion, I liked the Split screen reaction instead of the back and forth way here. If theres a way to go back to split screen I would love that. Plus you really should have reacted to the Intro at the end, but maybe u can for Episode 2

A warning for this Volume: Chapters 2-7 and 9-16 are all split into Parts I heavily suggest watching the Parts together otherwise you'll be finding yourself saying "That's it?!" alot lol.
9-14, 15 and 16 are entire episodes.
Yes. You may want to check the times of the episodes before you watch and double or even triple up sometimes.
And then prepare yourself for the Insane epic episode that is Episode 8

- lol you're the first reactor who seems to have no problem with the shadow people. Smaller budget this volume so they had to cut some corners. It changes next volume.
- If you go back and look at the Yellow trailer you'll see Roman make a brief appearance.
- Ruby is listening to the v1 main theme. Love them adding her turning the music off.
- Everything's a gun. Especially the guns.
- Still wanna know how nobody noticed a plane just sitting in the middle of a city.
- Ruby totally inhaled the cookies without chewing.

While I do enjoy and think your reaction format (switching between your cam and the episode) is very original, maybe it would be better to have both things on the screen at the same time, so we would be able to see your full reaction to everything. If copyright is what worries you, Rooster Teeth has no problems with reactors, old episodes practically never get blocked (even if it's just the TH-cam algorithm and they unblock it as soon as you contact them).

Hey, I thought I'd let you know that for the first season, due to budget reasons most of the episodes were split up. So almost all the episodes of the first season are only about 1-2 minutes long. I would suggest watching the two part episodes together so that you can see them as they were meant to be seen.

Seriously though, you need to combine Chapters 2+3, 4+5, 6+7, 9+10, 11+12, 13+14, because those chapters are about five minutes long, and they're already in parts. If you don't, you will die of not enough RWBY content. Can't wait to see your reactions, because RWBY only gets better the longer you watch!
Yaay, it's finally time! Word of advice, pay close attention to everything, since every little thing said or shown can be foreshadowing.
Btw, did you watch the opening at the end? It'd be cool if we could watch at least your first reaction to it in future volumes, you can cut it out in the rest of the episodes if you want.

As is all the songs. I highly recommend after each volume you listen to the soundtrack for each volume because all the music is super amazing and kinda goes into some characters. (Some songs are based on characters) so yea it’s great.
Our mysterious narrator at the beginning is Jen Taylor, best known for voicing Cortana from Halo.

Whoooooa. We don't skip the opening credits. The reaction to the opening of each season is almost as important as an episode itself. It's epic. It's ALWAYS EPIC. Gotta show your reaction to the opening at least once per season. It's always done by Jeff and Casey Lee Williams. And a lot of reactors show or even sing the opening song reacting to each episode. Liking this series though, don't get me wrong.
It's especially important to not skip it this time because the opening of the other chapters this volume is a shortened version.

If you are saying each volume gets better based on what happens in each volume then I can't believe this I actually found someone else that feels like each volume improves on the last volume and not just in terms of graphics I was starting to think I was the only one

Two important points:
One: Do you have moderators? If not, get some. I'd be happy to volunteer, since I've seen the show at least a dozen times. There aren't really any people who will spoil maliciously, but some folks think they're being really clever and subtle, but they aren't, and it totally ruins stuff.
Two: A lot of the episodes in Volume one are split into two parts. You can tell from the titles. Like "The shining beacon" is followed by "the shining beacon part two." The only one-part episodes in this season are 1, 8, 15, and 16. They basically just did it to buy time, since they were still working on the season while it was airing. So I'd go ahead and watch each two-parter in one reaction!

specifically, season one of RWBY Chibi should be watched AFTER you have finished Volume 3 of RWBY and before watching Volume 4, then you continue alternating from there.

It's rare to see someone so passionate about animation, pacing and character design talk about my favourite show! I'm wondering when the opening intro will include the RWBY characters too. The art style of this channel is awesome. :D
I'm so glad you're loving the series so far. :) I do have one recommendation though: listen to all the vocal tracks as you get through each volume. Not only are they amazing songs, but most of them help you understand more about the characters and what they're going through. Oh and just a heads up: a lot of the episodes in Volume 1 are split up into 2 parts, so if some of them seem really short and end in a weird spot, that's why. You'll probably want to watch those episodes back to back so you don't get confused. Also, to answer your question about Yang and Ruby: they're half sisters. They have the same dad, but different moms.

And my one suggestion would be: For Volume 1, the chapters were made pretty short, (Such as 1 of the chapters being only 4 minutes long), so it may be worthwhile to combine 2 chapters into one reaction. After Volume 1 the chapters get longer so you don't need to worry about short chapters for long.

Monty Oum choreographed the battle sequences in the first 2 volumes himself before he passed. Monty was also an avid dancer, which he incorporates into the animation.
So they're not fighting, they're dancing with weapons ;)
He also did several fights throughout Volume 3. PvP's fight is absolutely full of his animation, especially with the literal dance moves a certain character was using during the fight scene.
You will find out how Ruby and Yang are related in Volume 2. Their last names are a big hint though.

Nice to see you entering this beautiful world!! Rooster Teeth had an small budget for RWBY at the beginning, so you will notice short episodes or the background people as "black silhouettes". Please don't let that discourage you!! The story, characters and music are amazing, and the animation quality grows exponentially with each volume. I think you are going to love this show so much!!! And I already see you as Ruby, you are so much like her

i loved seeing your reaction to this! i do have a small suggestion though; instead of flipping back and forth i think it would be better to have it all on one screen, that way we can see both your reactions and the episode (or something similar to the white trailer reaction would be good). trust me, this show is a rollercoaster and id love to see all your reactions as they happen!

I just found this and imma just straight up say a few things (since you asked about these things during the trailers)
1) volume 1-2 chapters are a bit short compared to volumes 3-6 so noisy would suggest watching them in doubles.
2) white rose ship is amazing and so is bumblebee. They're the two biggest ships (that is still alive... RIP Arkos) in RWBY
3) the character in white is my favorite character. She has a lot of growth and my goodness she's just amazing. Ruby is my second fav 😋

May be better to have a split-screen reaction. RoostTeeth actually do endorse reactions to their show (as long as it is readily available on TH-cam or for free on the RoosterTeeth website (for RWBY this is 1 week after initial release). Sometimes the overzealous TH-cam auto-bot goes into manic mode with later volumes, however RoosterTeeth do have measures to get these overturned when they occur. Just saying, the constant flick between you and the screen can be very disorientating for those used to watching RWBY reactions

I am so happy and proud that someone new has found RWBY. I have been a RWBY fanboy since day 1. I was a little skeptical when Rooster Teeth announced a new project, but like you I instantly fell in love with RWBY, and Ruby specifically. You said so many things that I, myself, said when I 1st watched the series. It was such a nostalgia trip. And just to add to the hype, this was Season 1 Episode 1, we are now currently in the middle of season 6, so you have tons of RWBY to look forward to. :)
I would recommend you watch the Red, White, Black, and Yellow trailers as well, as they are cannon shorts rather than actual 'trailers' (similar things with Volumes 4, 5, and 6). With Volumes 2, 3, and 4 there are lore shorts called World of Remnants which give a little backstory on topics relevant at the time.

I am sure you were already told by someone else but for your question about Yang and Ruby; yes they are sisters but by blood they are half sisters with different mothers but even then that doesn't matter to them.
and I know you saw this but to the first rule of RWBY: It's also a gun. the amount of weapons that aren't guns are starting to grow but by my count nearly 90 percent of all weapons have an extra gun function to them.

Ruby is so precious! I've been binge watching RWBY and I have to say you're in for a treat! It's inspiring that Rooster Teeth created their own anime and you can see how much love was put into it.
To answer your question, if no one else has...Ruby and Yang are half sisters (same father, different mothers). Currently their father is a single father. Yang is from the first wife, Ruby from the second.
You actually said this; Yes, the relationship and different features of Ruby and Yang will be explained/explored in future episodes. :)
Also, most of the Volume 1 episodes are really short two-parters, so, like a lot of folks have already commented and suggested, I also think that you might want to react to the two-parters in one video; since those episodes are sooo short (some of them even barely three minutes) the Volume just works better that way, both for you as a reactor, and for your viewers. :)

Hey Kat. Just wanted to leave you with some answers and facts that might help out. And Dont worry, these are spoiler free, just some info to help clear the air so to speak.
First to answer some of your questions and comments.
You pointed out how some of the background characters were just silhouettes or what the fandom have come to call them "Shadow People". Theres actually a reason they look this way. Before RWBY, there was only one "animated" show by Rooster Teeth which was their flagship series Red vs Blue. So when Monty pitched RWBY, they wanted to do it, but didnt want to put too much money on the project incase it didnt take off. So the first volume didnt have a very large budget, so certain actions were taken to cut down on funding, one of which being making the background characters into cheaper Shadow People. Also chopping up episodes into "parts" was another cost saving way as well.
You also asked about the relationship with Ruby and her sister Yang. They are indeed half-sisters (same dad, different mothers). I wont say too much more to avoid spoilers, but they will address this later on.
Now onto some spoiler-free facts:
Fact 1: The narrator at the beginning is voiced by Jen Taylor, who is best known for voicing the character Cortana, as well as the scientist she was created from, Catherine Halsey, in the Halo games.
Fact 2: At 6:26, the Doctor's scarf from Doctor Who is visible in the background hanging from a clothesline.
Fact 3: The magazine Ruby reads before Roman's robbery is focused on weapons, and the back has the Schnee Dust Company's snowflake symbol with the words "The finest of them all" above it, referencing Weiss Schnee and her allusion to Snow White, the "fairest of them all".
Fact 4: The henchmen in this episode are voiced by two children from the Make-a-Wish Foundation, William Lopez and Isaiah Torres.
Fact 5: In the Dust shop, one of the magazines behind Ruby has a cover showing an entirely-white humanoid figure with a grin and is titled "Truth". This is a reference to Fullmetal Alchemist.
Fact 6: The Dust canisters in the Dust shop are based on a wine opener owned by Miles Luna; one of the co-creators and writers for RWBY.
Fact 7: The line "Oh, that's my Uncle!" while Ruby's mouth is full of cookies is a reference to the Rooster Teeth Podcast, in which Burnie Burns (co-founder of Rooster Teeth) said "That's my Uncle!" when doing an impression of Japanese media. The line evolved into an internet meme of sorts afterwards, also becoming the basis for an episode of Rooster Teeth Animated Adventures parodying anime.
How RWBY changed my life is, in short, life-changing. To tell you the long story, I'll begin where it all began. One Cold and Beautiful Moonlit November Night back in 2015, I was up late far beyond my usual sleeping time, watching youtube. I was in the mood for some for something funny. I vaguely remembered a red vs blue episode that had seen years ago, although I could not remember the name of it. I went looking for the channel that made it, Rooster Teeth. After finding their channel page, I searched under the animated section only to stumble across a series I've never seen before. The Thumbnail and the Name stuck out to me; intrigued I clicked on the playlist. The first musical notes of the red trailer enraptured my attention then upon my first sight of the animation I was love with it. I ended up binge watching the entire series (it was the entire series, it was up to Volume 2 at that point). I grew to love the characters and care about each of them and relate to their struggles and triumphs. I went expecting to find a novelity, I left with so much more. When Volume 3 came out I would watch excited, and eagerly awaited the next chapter. I laughed and cried at the series, never before had a story done this before, except for a few films and books. At time of my first viewing, I was wondering what do after high school and beyond. This series for some odd reason struck a chord in me that sparked a interest in animating that has never gone away ever since. I found out over the years that animation combined my love for storytelling, art and music. Now I am currently enrolling at a college to pursue a career in animating, hopeful to start my own studio and create stories like this. Thanks Monty and to his fellow team at Rooster Teeth!

The episodes get longer as the series goes on, don't worry. We JUST got the longest episode to date like a month ago in Volume 6 at about 26 minutes (if I recall the run time).

An excellent question that everyone has asked but no one has gotten the answer to.
And so it begins!
So some background info about the series as of now. The team and budget for this first Volume were practically non-existent at the time so you'll be seeing a lot of little shortcuts throughout Volume 1 to better aid the flow. The faceless background "shadow people" are one. They'll only stick around through the end of V1.
The opening monologue is actually performed by Jen Taylor, probably most well known for her work as the voice of Cortana in the Halo video game series.
Go back and check out the Yellow Trailer again, look carefully in the background. You actually see Roman leaving the nightclub as Yang enters. The random minions he has in this episode were the same as the minions from that club, lead by Junior. Roman was hiring Junior's men in the trailer and used them in this episode. This shows that the four trailers are relevant to the background of the series proper.
If you are a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, look *really* close at the magazine Ruby was reading in the store. The Truth makes a cameo on there.
Monty confirmed on social media that Yang and Ruby are half sisters: same father, different mothers. Hence their different looks and names.
As others are saying, most episodes of Volume 1 are actually split in 2, you'll see these with the "part 1, part 2" in the titles. Watch them both in one go otherwise you'll be sitting on a 5 minute incomplete episode. Again, this was due to the lack of animators able to work on this first volume and they needed more time to work on each episode. The split episodes are only in this volume.
Word of warning, you may come across a "RWBY Chibi" series. *DO NOT WATCH THIS* until you finish Volume 3. It is mostly harmless (cute non-canon side silly episodes galore) but there is a major, major spoiler early on. Once you finish Volume 3, you're cleared for all of Chibi.
As of the posting of this video, RWBY is currently at 5 complete volumes, 3 volumes of RWBY Chibi, and we're at the halfway break in Volume 6 (the team is understandably taking the holidays off). Each volume tends to run approximately 12-14 episodes depending on the volume. Some also have bonus episodes not listed as part of the main episode count. Beginning in Volume 2 you have the World of Remnant videos which are a side series that helps explain some of the lore of the world in a way that doesn't bog down the proper episodes with exposition dumps that the characters should already know about their world. They aren't necessary to get what is going on, but if you're craving more RWBY content they do make for excellent additions to the episodes. They were released in between episodes and are generally meant to be viewed then. A list can be found showing when the World of Remnants should be watched. Additionally there are more trailers down the road. In between Volumes 3 and 4 there is a Ruby trailer. In between Volumes 4 and 5 there are the Weiss, Blake, and Yang trailers. And in between Volumes 5 and 6 there is the Adam trailer. Just like Chibi, *DO NOT WATCH* until you clear the volume prior to them, as spoilers galore.
Speaking of spoilers, I strongly recommend getting someone who is familiar with the series to screen your comment section for these videos. You are several years behind on where we are and the internet is...well...the internet. People can't help themselves sometimes. Have someone go through and make sure things aren't being spoiled for you.

2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15, 16
One idea I think could be fun would be to have the viewers of your reactions send their favorite fan art that has been produced for the show, clear of any spoilers and content that'd be banned from Tumblr of course.
There are lots of talented fan creators for this show and the company of Rooster Teeth as a whole, some of them even being brought on as official team members later down the line. For example, Hajime Nakamura, aka mojojoj, did official concept artwork for the comedic spinoff show, RWBY Chibi.
Right around oh, volume 3, towards the end. Well, we know what happens. She, however, well, it's a ride.

I hope you enjoy the show and stick with it to where is currently. The story, animation, music... all of it gets better as the series goes on. THERE IS SO MUCH FORESHADOWING that goes on, little hints to stuff in the lore of the series. The first couple episodes of the the current Volume, Vol6, is so FIRE! RIP Monty Oum the creator, who passed away after season 2 but his story and legacy live on in the series. Also I'm sure you'll figure this all out as it goes on, or maybe you've heard it from others but, all the characters are based on fairy tale characters from old folk lore. It's part of the fun of the show trying to figure out who everyone is based off of and just how much inspiration is drawn from them.
