Yeah we know Blake's cat ears look kind of terrible here but they are better in Volume 2 and they are way better once the show switched from Poser to Maya.

Just a heads up for every finale, RWBY ALWAYS has an after credits scene. They're all important scenes save for one instance.

I was, apparently, oblivious for volume 1. I didnt notice it was a bow, not even the one time someone mentioned her bow earlier. I always just saw cat ears and was shocked at Weiss being so vocal to her about her low opinion of faunus in this scene.

I laughed out loud when she finished the chapter... upset about this as a cliffhanger. Sweet innocent child, so much frustration yet to come.
Interesting fact 1: In Blake's trailer she and Adam were on a train and if you look closely the cargo has Weiss' family crest on it.
Interesting fact 2: In the RWBY red trailer the part of the lyrics say "Black the beast descend from shadow" The first time I heard it I thought they were talking about the Grimm but it was actually about Blake.

the two cops are are a reference to another Rooster Teeth sketch, there is a lot of easter eggs in the first few volumes of RWBY, there are youtube vids out there with them in it however some contain more than Volume 1

Probably already got mentioned, and know this is an observation years after the fact, but another early hint was back around Chapter 7. As Ruby was falling from the sky and before Blake warned Yang, you see Blake’s bow twitch,…like a cat’s ear reacting to sound.

- Yang's name actually translates to "Sunny Little Dragon". So she's a living dragon lol
- Yep each volume does have it's own opening. Always great seeing first reactions to the new openings.
- Introducing Sun Wukong! Abs for years and a tendency to have a lax take on following rules.
- Love how far Weiss and Ruby's relationship has come since they first met.
- What's interesting neither Blake or Weiss are really wrong here. They have good reasons for how they feel. Weiss is just a bit too extreme in her views.
- Blake would know something about stolen train cars...
- Yep I said previously that was a bow on her head. Not that she didn't have cat ears lol
- The hints are in previous episodes lol At the beginning of chapter 8 Blake's bow twitches when she points up and says "Uh Yang..." CRWBY also said that the reason we didn't see Blake's landing in the initiation is because she would have landed on her feet. They felt that would've been too onvious. Blake also would've been fine with blowing out her candles at the end of chapter 2 even though she was reading. Faunus have night vision remember? CRWBY also said that Blake has several bows that she insisted on wearing all the time despite her teams confusion.
- Yeah I think Sun could tell. He could have just been flirting too. That's just how Sun rolls lol
- Don't worry I bet Velvet can handle herself just fine.
- Even more insight into how Weiss really is deep down. She has so much hidden depth.
- Speaking of skirts, Monty made sure from the beginning that the show would have "anti-upskirt technology" preventing us seeing more than we should. He felt like this wasn't that type of show. The character models are actually rendered so that no matter the angle everything's covered.

You are correct. Arryn Zech, the voice actor for Blake, confirmed that Blake is both Belle and the Beast. I see you already saw the next episode so I can tell you that her journey breaking free from the violence of the white fang is meant to mirror the struggle the beast goes through when he realizes how horrible he was and becomes human again as he turns away from his past.

Hey Cat, each volume does have a new intro. The female vocals are the daughter of the composer of the music. The police officers are done by Bernie Burns and, I think, the other one was Joel Hymen; they are two of the core staff members at Rooster Teeth.

While their relationship definitely grows and evolves over time, I love their early-show dynamic of Blake constantly deadpan calling Weiss out on her bs XD
The lead cop was voiced by Burnie Burns, but he's a Texas boy (from Houston) so that accent is totally an act.
The other is Joel, so both are fake. They're actually a funny reference to the RT Short Prank War

Second: Yeah, You are beginning to see that RWBY is a show with a Great deal of Depth. Weiss' character appears at first to be Racist against the Faunus until you begin to hear her side of the story. It does not excuse her attitude, but it does explain it better. This is the thing about this show, no one is just one way or another. There is a great deal of complexity in them and that's why we love each and everyone of these characters.
Thus begins the storyline that made Blake my second favorite character

Michael Jones, voice of Sun Wukong (the monkey boy) is married to Lindsay Jones (formerly Tuggey), voice actress of Ruby. Michael himself is actually from New Jersey as well, having moved to Austin, Texas when he started working at Rooster Teeth. Even though he's adopted the ways of Texas, he still proudly represents his Jersey roots.

Not only is my name Blake, but as a bisexual girl, Blake Belladonna has helped me a lot. Hiding who you are because you're afraid of what the world will think of you.
Plus Blake's VA, Arryn, is bisexual and so is Blake. So...the whole character has helped me a lot trough rough times. I'm very grateful for Monty and Arryn for bringing this character to life.
This episode sealed her as my second favorite. Her backstory is amazing!

Ah yes, what is in Ozpin's cup? The subject of many fan theories. ^_^
Trivia time! The two cops in front of the crime scene are voiced by Bernie Burns (voice of Church and Lopez from Red vs Blue and one of the heads of Rooster Teeth), and Joel Heyman, voice of none other than Caboose from Red vs Blue and Doctor Oobleck from RWBY. And Sun finally makes his appearance. Enter the Abs! Another fun tidbit: his voice actor, Michael Jones, ended up marrying Lindsey Tuggey (now Lindsey Jones) the voice of none other than our dear Ruby Rose herself! Yay Penny! Omigod I love her so much!! Voiced by Taylor Pelto (though I think her last name changed later on).
I love the low five betwen Ruby and Weiss after the "It's a combat skirt!" line. The friendship is growing! And Blake's bow. At this point I can say something without it being a spoiler. In the scene in the forest at the temple with the relics, when Blake looks up at the sky, her bow twitches. Sun saying "I knew you would look better without the bow," clearly indicates he could tell she was a faunus. When I first watched this episode, I figured he winked at her because he thought she was cute. Also, Belle is in Blake's name. Blake Bell..adonna. And yep, you picked up on it perfectly. She's beauty, and the beast, and she has that inner conflict, which reflects the feelings of all the faunus living in a world where humans are the dominant power, and many faunus are treated like second-class citizens.
I loved Blake's cute reminder nudge to Yang as well. Actually, Weiss told Ruby, "No, she seems far more coordinated," implying Ruby was actually worse. xD I love the chemistry between Ruby and Weiss.
The guys at Rooster Teeth would absolutely adore your reactions. ^_^ They love seeing fans react. Your Ozpin-sytle stop-and-sips from the cup are killing me by the way. I love it! xD In one of the special features the Rooster Teeth guys were talking about how some native spanish speakers told them they loved Lopez from Red vs Blue, because it was hilarious to them how bad his Google auto-translated spanish was (which was done partly on purpose).

Possible Spoilers.......
I really love this episode so much because it doesn't paint either side as black or white.... humans treat Faunus as though they are inferior and the Shnee Dust Company uses them for cheap expendable labor in their Dust mines, but the Faunus of the current White Fang are extremists wanting to basically switch the rolls with the Faunus at the top humans below them. This is not the view of all Faunus and humans as we see this idea expanded on in later volumes.
