I... don’t like Weiss all that much.
I like you reviews but do you think you could do 3 episodes at one time instead of 2. The episodes in the first 2 volumes are short that you could knock them out pretty quickly its only until you reach volume 3 and beyond that you might have to go one at a time.
Kate, just wondering, what is the rwby schedule? When should we expect rwby episodes?
Weiss is the best out of the group. Love her fighting style, she may be a bit prickly but she does care, also love her character design.
i dont know if it is her schedule but this episode and the last both dropped on Thursday so maybe thats it
Weiss’ character development is absolutely amazing. I don’t want to spoil anything but her story causes me to feel so many emotions or whatnot. Every one of her songs are absolutely great. Many people don’t like her at first but she’ll grow on you for sure
She also got 1 of the best songs in the show later on.
Wow, you don't see many people giving love for Weiss at the first episodes. She doesn't appear as the most nicest person in the room, sure, Weiss tend to act as a high snob, Ice Queen or nagging away at everything, but I bet you gonna love her when you heard about her background. She is practically the "voice of reason" within team RWBY.
So excited to learn more about her! And totally. Weiss is so much more than just a snob or a rich girl. I can tell she has a lot of insecurities and hopefully Ruby and the others will help her open up more. I also feel like she always has to prove herself to others or "be the best", which is a fantastic character arc for her and opens new doors of exploration for her character.
@@AllAgesofGeek Yoo! Exactly, you nailed that specific part about her character. Most of Weiss's personality was defined around the enviroment and people that she grew up with. But she is amazing and have a heart of gold under many layers of ice. Pun intented. I can't tell you more due the spoilers for the next episodes. So enjoy RWBY!
She basically started as a cookie cutter definition of a spoiled brat
Monty said he had characters you would love right off the bat and others it mighy take 20+ episodes for people to like. And if that was the case then he did his job right in creating the characters. For a lot of people, the 20+ episodes felt like a finger point at Weiss, and a few others later on.

He quoted a line of the episode and said it was a cool line, and yet you are the one starting to talk about spoilers drawing attention to it that it might be brought up again somewhere in this series. Smart move moron, thinking ahead further than the 2 yards of dirt road right infront of your feet seems to be a dying skill.

I love weiss cause she works so damn hard and it shows when she fights. She puts in such an effort. Anything more elaborated would go into spoiler territory but im so happy with your reactions so thanks so much :) I just came back from training so this is just brilliant.

Ozpin literally launched new students off a cliff essentially saying "figure out how to land or die. Kill all in your way or die. Find a partner and grab a relic or die. Our instuctors wont help you so try not to die."
I loved how Weiss character was portrayed, and how when she talked to Prof. Port, He said he saw a girl who has spent her entire life getting everything she wanted, Then the show goes n says, "I always wanted Bunk Beds as a kid" It shows alot. Being rich doesnt mean shit as a kid. Its always the little things that mean so much (not the money, clothes, etc)
This. The quote in her trailer very much ties into that.
I love Weiss my love for her only topped by Yang I also love White Rose (Ruby x Weiss) only topped by Bumblebee/Bumbleby (Blake x Yang)
THANK YOU for appreciating character development even when the arcs themselves don't portray characters as already perfect beings. There's a huge division in this fandom when it comes to character development, because people will often cry "bad writing" when a character arc doesn't go the way they thought it would. To me, as long as tangible and worthwhile results can be seen, it's a good arc. Thank you for enjoying the show!

So "innocence will fall" isn't quite right, but the spirit of it isn't wrong. Innocence will definitely fall.
Also, it's so fun to watch you react, because you're really starting to pick up on lines that are deliberately foreshadowing some stuff that happens later. Have fun with the next few episodes - they heavily feature Jaune, your bean! :D
Weiss becomes a much better character as the show goes on and it's explained why she is the way she is.

I really think you will like this series. The story, more, characters, mystery, action, emotion, A lot of it. Do you plan on putting RWBY in your intro? That'd be neat!
I like Weiss because she gets the most character development out of everyone in the series. At least in my opinion.
Blake does so far, arguably.
I think Yang gets the most to me, sh went from happy smol child to depressed angst child, then right now to confident child.
I can see your point. I think that all the girls have had much development. Ruby not so much just because she is just starting getting development. But for now my opinion still goes to Weiss because she went from a stuck up bossy girl to a really caring person for her teammates. Also I think we know more about her backstory than anybody in team RWBY.
Weiss definitely had much more character development than other characters.
It is further emphasised by the fact that Weiss was a character that 7 out of 10 people watching the show would dislike at first. Because her personality wasn't exactly the greatest, and the fact that she was often antagonistic to the main character for most of the show's first volume (Ruby), many did not have good feelings about her, so when she is later developed, it is almost like a rebound, giving the illusion that she is more developed than other characters. It is a very small illusion, as I believe that even then, she is still a character that has had the most development besides Blake.
@@bowmin1 I would agreed to "much more" after V5, but after V6, I would say the other 3 have been doing some serious catching up, with Blake and Yang pulling right up to her.
I'm part of the few people that like Weiss since the beginning, as soon as she appear I notice that she was the "tsudere" of the series, and I have soft spot for tsunderes in anime... With that I knew she will have a great development and I wasn't wrong, she has become one of the most popular characters in the series...
I am not sure what my thoughts are on tsunderes, I dislike violent or aggressive tsunderes, but I find non-violent tsunderes to be quite adorable. As for Weiss, I remember that I wasn't a big fan of her when I first watched this back when I was 13 in 2013. I dropped the series after Volume 2, even in the second volume she was my least favourite character in Team RWBY. I came back to it when I was 16 in 2016, rewatching from Volume 1 and quickly found that I had a soft spot for Weiss as a character, becoming my 2nd favourite character in the whole series, topped by Ruby herself, even in the first Volume I liked Weiss a lot, despite how annoying she is in the first volume.
Still is my 2nd fave character to this day, and I believe that all of the Weiss x Ruby (Whiterose) fanfictions that I have read may have helped in that case. Back when I was 13, I had never seen an anime other than a bit of Pokemon and the odd Naruto episode before, so I guess 3 years later when I had watched anime, I could appreciate Weiss' character much better. Damn, that was a long rant.

I fell in love with Weiss at first with her fighting style always loved Sword and Magic User (RedMage) then i started to love her to bits then lol

Professor Port and his pompous self doesn't get as much love as he deserves. So *tenacious* , so *handsome* , so *witty*
It is true that RWBY is a emotional roller coaster all happy the first two volumes then a change in mood during volume 3. Which is the most heart wrenching it will make you cry probably.
One of my favourite parts about this episode is that both Ruby and Weiss learn something. Weiss goes through the expected and necessary departure from entitlement (we all knew it was coming), but Ruby (the "victim" of this scenario) also learns that she did nothing to disprove Weiss' beliefs, regardless of the lack of times spent as leader and student.
The poster they have in the room is the Achievement hunters, one of the gaming channels on rooster teeth.
And the VA for the professor in episode 9 is voiced by one of them , there are other characters in the show that are voiced by the Achievement hunters!RUBY BEEING ON OF THEM !
Port is just a man of great character and I appreciate him very much. He's also voiced by my favorite person at RT.

Saw Weiss as the tsundere character which I love in anime. She is also elegant, fights with a sword and what appears to be magic, and loved the way she looks.
Coming here fresh off of Volume 6 and seeing these moments again gets me so emotional 😌😌 so wholesome.
Weiss only gets so much better from here! Honestly, I don’t rly like her in the first volume very much, but she’s one of my fav characters now. Don’t worry, she still has her sassy personality in volume 6 :)

Ahahaha! That was my reaction to the bunk beds as well! Cracking up at the same time saying, "Omg those bunk beds are gonna crush somebody!" xD Professor Port is great. I love him so much. He's so...bombastic! ^_^ That's the word I was looking for. If you look closely, there were sketches showing several kinds of Grimm and their names behind him in his classroom, but it can be a little hard to catch, especially the first time.
My lord, your reaction to Weiss now has me scared for later. No character can handle that much love!

Your reactions to this series is what drew me to your channel. Nothing beats a good "What the fuuuuuuuu-" reaction when someone sees a RWBY fight for the first time.
Port and Ozpin were MVPs in Episode 10, and Weiss and Ruby got some valuable lessons.

Coming back to this after volume 6 is such a shift. The character growth and relationships just blow me away.
The "RWBY 101" series you mentioned is called World of Remnant (Someone else likely mentioned it). WoR started in Volume 2 and there are probably YT playlists or other fans that could tell you which ones are for which volume.

Weiss...appreciation... being caught up with the series, i will only say that she (like all of them) have come a very long way from these stereotypical beginnings. She is not my favorite character at this point of the story, but she comes a very long way from these early impressions. NO Spoiler, you will meet Weiss' and all of the RWBY girls' family eventually. I find it interesting that you ponder her an only child on the bunk beds line. I never even considered it. Love the PIP TV frame format, it looks great! Are you going to do a special dance for each intro? Makes me wonder what you're gonna do once the song changes with each Volume. Same choreographed dance for each volume intro, or make it up each time, or just a one time thing that you felt like doing (you didn't dance to the previous chapters). I could see a bloopers dancing compilation holiday vid once you get caught up. Poor Miscat, being this emotional now does not bode well (or it's encouraging depending on your perspective) for your future emotional... weeeelllll, Winter is coming...the feels are coming (pun not initially intended :) ) I can hardly wait

Ruby is able to come up with a viable plan on the spot! The others can learn to, but she's a natural. That's one reason she was made team leader!
To me, this episode(s) is very important to RWBY, the team and the series. it shows the team developing and working through each other. they aren't a perfect team at first and need to learn to work together not only in combat but outside of it as a team. the fact they aren't perfect is good, since it shows how we can watch these characters grow. they have a long way to go but they are taking the first step in the right direction.

Coffee headmaster with the great hair is Professor Oz-Pin. First part as in wizard of Oz. Then "pin".
"I am going to be the best teammate you will ever have." Looking back to that statement of Weiss in the first volume, we can all agree to that given everything that happened to team RWBY.
I think it's the Shirou Miwa manga that shows why Ruby wears her cape with her uniform, and also says that Weiss chose to attend Beacon partly because the uniform is cuter than Atlas Academy's.
'World of Remnant' is the lore series. Some are narrated by the Narrator, some by Ozpin, and some by another person.
Weiss goes through a massive Character Arc during Volumes 4 & 5. Actually when I think about it, after Volume 3, everyone changes.
With the passage of the volumes Weiss becomes an incredible character. Your personal development, is for me, the best of Team RWBY.

Something to note. Volumes 1-5 are on TH-cam, or Blu-ray if you want a physical copy, but volume 6 is only on the Rooster Teeth website.
Weiss is definitely best girl! She gets some of the best development in the show, not to mention all the songs that help show that arc I LOVE HER
Weiss grows on you over time. Volume 2 is where she really grew on me 100% when her and Jaune see more eye to eye and genuinely become friends. I don't wanna get into spoilers for later on down the line but with Volume 6 just having wrapped up a few weeks ago Jaune & Weiss are my two favorite characters. Jaune because despite all of his faults and self-admitted weakness he still fights with everything he had; Weiss because her development from cold bitch to warm friend is very well done. Plus she's cute.
Gosh the start of this episode is so wholesome, I love it, moments like this can be so great!
Also I forgot how skeeved out Port flirting with his underage student felt.
I love that Yang is clearly shown to be the most attentive student though XD
I do like how Weiss is presented as rather harsh but you still get where she's coming from but that she does need to grow still but so do others IE Ruby.

Weiss has two siblings and I won't say anything more. It's so nice to watch these episodes again after a while with you. Thinking back to the beginning and comparing it to now is so amazing I don't know why people hate on this series so much. If the seen between Weiss and Ruby was feels for you then boy are you gonna have a bunch of feels and emotion everywhere with this series.
One of the cool things is if you do go back and watch RWBY again you can learn new things about the world of RWBY but it isn’t necessary if you don’t want to.
