The finale is FINALLY here and I have so many questions and am overwhelmed with feels. The way the girls were worried about Blake despite knowing her history was truly heartwarming. And Penny's fight scene with being "combat ready" and Sun and just how the whole team worked together was breathtaking. I am SO excited to go on this long journey with you guys and cannot wait to see how our girls grow up as teammates!

I have seen way to many people reacting to rwby having important things spoiled by idiots thinking they were being funny making jokes around it to where its plain to see what they were hinting around. Just to let you know, Penny's swords are not coming out of her back. They're coming out of a backpack she's wearing, but it's hard to see and she isn't wearing it in some shots.

I have been a RWBY fan for a long time, when Volume 3 wasn't fully out yet. I've seen others watch this series and speculate and talk about the show and what it represents. And I have to say seeing you relate to these characters and their experiences and really appreciate the love and effort put into this show is really wholesome and I really really enjoy it. Thank you for spreading positivity and sharing your thoughts and experiences. Hope you have a good day.
Thank you so much! These characters mean so much to me because they feel so real because we can relate to them. Positive series like RWBY deserve all the love they can get. Especially because you can tell that Monty and the whole team put their heart into it from day one.
I will continue to do my best to spread lots of love and positivity in this fandom because it's one of the most unique, talented and kindhearted fandoms out there.

Also Sun's full name is Sun Wukong, an allusion to the main character from Journey To The West which Goku from Dragon Ball Z is based off of.
To add a bit to that, Dragon Ball as a whole was very much inspired by/initially based on Journey to the West. Son Goku is the Japanese name for Sun Wukong, as well.

I think a lot of people miss the fact that swords came out of Penny's backpack because the animation was I little simple and also it appears of nowhere, you can see in 14:52 no backpack then on 14:59 there it is... It's a little confusing, to say the least, but still, I love this volume, Roman is my favorite villain
I like how her combat ability was based on Nu-13 from Blazblue... and Nu later got a color palette set based on Penny.
Two episodes are great but no one's hyping the debut of the GUN-CHUCKS! Sun's weapons are so awesome that Monty for a long time was the only person who could properly animate them. And once he sadly died it was a long time before we saw them again.
Also also you've alluded to doing other RWBY related stuff, don't watch RWBY Chibi until after you've watched Volume 3 because though the show is non-Canon they allude to MAJOR SPOILERS for the main show especially in Episode 7.
Second this....but....you will NEED a dose of RWBY Chibi after Vol.3.....we all did.

@@AllAgesofGeek Here's a tip for you...Pay very close attention.This series has a knack for foreshadowing future events in very subtle ways. They started all the way back in the Red Trailer, and are scattered throughout.This makes for some very powerful moments during a rewatch.
Also be careful of spoilers. For all the love the FNDM shows, some people can't help themselves.

If you are this emotional with this much closeness...they get SO MUCH CLOSER as the series progresses. Oh, the tears to come, Kat!!! I'll be off and away, as I noted elsewhere, but I'll be watching from a distance. This is one journey I'd rather not miss watching you take.
I'm glad you included the song from the credits "wings", it's one of the most emotional pieces in the entire soundtrack. That and "I may fall", but that is for a later time.
Their is nothing wrong with liking Roman torchwick. He is probably the best villain in this show... maybe second best but you won't meet the other person I'm thinking of for awhile. Anyone wondering who I'm talking about think "eye for an eye"

I'm honestly really thankful that you're watching this series, especially since we're currently in the haitus between Volumes 6 and 7. I really liked alot of the points and things that you brought up throughout Volume 1and look forward to anything RWBY related that you have planned.
I'm really glad to see you getting so into RWBY, it really is a great series to get into and as you've seen already they aren't afraid to get into some of the difficult subjects out there. A note on the World of Remnant videos: they were originally released in between episodes often with an explanation on things that the next episode would cover. Marathoning them in one go is fine, just don't do them all just yet as some are tied to episodes in later volumes and are meant for the viewer to have knowledge of events prior to them. World of Remnants 1-4 are safe for Volume 2. These are "Dust", "Kingdoms", "Grimm", and "Aura". The next four (not giving their titles away to avoid spoilers) are intended for Volume 3. All the rest are for Volume 4.
Speaking of side stories, you may find a series called RWBY Chibi (a cutesy comedy series with super deformed versions of the characters). While hilarious and worth checking out, DO NOT WATCH IT, not yet. Don't start Chibi until you finish Volume 3 completely, as an early Chibi episode references a huge spoiler. After that Chibi is perfectly safe. There are 3 seasons of Chibi so far (with S4 likely to start later this year leading up to Volume 7) and all are perfectly fine to get into once you finish Volume 3. They are non-canon skits and just pure goodness.
Now that you finished Volume 1 and have gotten the Blake is a catgirl reveal, go back and watch her in previous episodes. Like Pyrrha's magnetism power, there have been subtle hints to her true nature for some time. Pyrrha, for example, always gave off a faint electric hum whenever she used her power, but only now will the object she uses darken whenever she uses it (simply for our sake, the other characters don't actually see it). One notable moment with this is during the JNPR fight against the giant scorpion. At certain points when she moves her shield from her back to her arm or when she tosses her javelin, you hear the hum as she is secretly controlling the object. Blake's ears are similarly alluded to. In the same episode we see her cat ears subtly twitch whenever she senses something closing in.

Android...cyborg is human brain/ body with machine parts, DC Universe /Teen Titans Cyborg, Major Motoko Kusanagi and Bato from Ghost in the Shell, etc. Penny is an artificial intelligence and manufactured body and the first with a soul, an Android. Robots are either remotely controlled or preprogrammed, but not independent...think the Star Wars DROIDS vs manufacturing robots making cars. Data from Star Trek = android.
Blake was the one that helped steal the train full of dust that Weiss mentioned last episode. We know this because its the events that take place within the Black trailer. That's also when she left the White Fang

Also, I'd definitely recommend watching this season again at some point now that you've finished the initial go through. It's great seeing your first reactions to the show, but there are a lot of little things that it's really easy to miss, be they little lore hints or just jokes you missed while reacting to something else that just happened. Can't wait to see more RWBY reactions from you!
Starting in Volume 2, there's a series of side episodes called World of Remnant. RT has made quite a few changes to their site over the years, so the episodes can be easy to pass by. A lot of them are still on RT's TH-cam channel. You should react to those as well.
Aside from that, very good reaction and discussion. So many people only focus on what a show did wrong or on the fights, which can be fine. But it's also really good to talk about the messages that a show tries to give. The team didn't solve their issues by fighting each other. They solved it by talking, accepting and forgiving each other.
23:25 Pretty accurate as of right now in the RWBY community on a lot of online platforms. It sad that people are lashing out like this. I just hope it can all blow over and we can become whole again. Then again I may be hoping for too much. Which is why I love your reactions, it keeps the good side of the community together all in one place. Thank you for that.

One thing I love about RWBY Volume 1 is it's low stakes but has great character moments and a couple of really great boss fights. It's fun to revisit, even years later.

Reminder that next volume has 4 short World of Remnant videos to watch, that help flesh out certain aspects of the world. There are several of these shorts over the next few volumes and they're all worth watching. The ones you want first are Kingdoms, Dust, Grimm and Aura. I recommend either watching before the next episode, or after the volume 2 finale.
And every volume has a post credits scene in the finale.
You are going to love the next season of RWBY. It really gets better with every season.

So glad you enjoyed V1. I was so worried you weren't going to know about the post credits scene. There's one every volume. As a note, the opening song changes every volume, which is introduced right after the first chapter of the volume. V2 is one of the best opening themes.
V2 starts the longer episodes and increasing graphics quality. V2 ch1 has one of my favorite scenes of all of the show.
Do not watch RWBY chibi until after you finish V3. Although it's not canon, there are a lot of spoilers that are revealed through tongue-in-cheek jokes.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is in there because remember the goons with Roman in the first episode? Those goons were voiced by MAW recipients. Fans put into the show.

Cat, I’m so glad you have values and morals that you want to uphold. Also to quote Sheirk, “RWBY has layers. Tons and tons of intertwining layers.” There are some things they do in volume one that seem to be a one-off thing and five volumes later we see they payoff. I look forward to see how you react to the rest of the series so far, Cat. I’m going to end with a quote from Scar in Lion King, “Be prepared.”
