    Very good review and comparison. I just subscribed. I am glad you pointed out the camera capturing both would produce different results than the actual image. This is of course based on the spectral sensitivity of your camera against the 2 different technologies. Basically a technical Metamerism. Perhaps in the future video's if you haven't already let the viewer know at the start of the video about the camera/capture item. I knew this myself when watching as I have done the same process but was happy when you pointed it out. Great work !!

    Brightness can be rectified by darkening the room. What you can't rectify on the LG is the colour accuracy given that WOLED is inherently flawed by the white sub-pixel.
    Any colour that is not white, black or a shade of grey where each sub-pixel is outputting the exact same levels of light is going to to be washed out either a little or a lot depending on the given colour and brightness.

    G3 is a valiant effort by LG to stay relevant in 2023 but things have to change in 2024 (lower prices?) otherwise it will fall farther and farther behind as content catches up to the capabilities of QD-OLED. Even with blue pho-OLED in 2026, the WOLED with color filter will still be more diluted at higher luminances than the QD color converting layer for the highest performance TVs priced as flagship. WOLED is definitely relevant for the B and C series but when priced the same as QD-OLED, the G series will face more performance discrepancies as QD-OLED matures with each subsequent year.

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      LG G3 came really close but the downsides in game mode show that a lot of work has to be put into processing to get the G3 to match up close to the QD-OLED. I was really close to saying the G3 was the better TV if it wasn't for the uniformity and game mode because I love the picture quality overall in terms of the brightness and depth but the big issue is its just not as clean and thats what really hurt it. The big eye opener was that scene I showed at the end with the Ghostwire Tokyo cutscene in the white room the difference looks worse on camera but even in person you can see the clean white uniformity of the QD-OLED is a huge difference maker over a somewhat cloudy looking and slightly tinted WOLED panel,

    • @tecnogadgethd

      @Bzake The fact that it is a TH-cam video does not invalidate that you can determine differences from a video, you can upload them in 4K and with high bitrate and low compression.
      It would make more sense for you to say that you can't see the difference because of how the camera sensor captured the image, what exposure and color temperature it chose, etc.
      You can see obvious differences between TV deathmach on TH-cam. So the fact that there are no differences in this video shows that they are very similar to each other. How similar? For that it is necessary to see them in person.

    • @TechWithKG

      It looks that way because SDR Game Mode is restricting the changing of the peak brightness toggle, it certainly is capable of being as bright as the S95C in SDR but for some reason LG wants to lock this setting away. There is a workaround by using ALLM and other picture modes if you want higher brightness for your SDR gaming.

I love the highlights and detail of the G3, but sometimes the S95C blows the G3 off the table with some bright saturated colors and in film maker mode it has better detail than the G3 again. Hard to choose but easier if the S95C can get closer to G3 with some adjustments.

Heck it's night and day, never imagined I would say the S95C will be the one to look too dark in quite a few scenes.
    Any of the upper range Oled's today imo will do for most ordinary people at home, just hard to unsee what you seen already, sadly. The S95C looks noticeably better. (I’ve seen both in person) Here’s what sticks out to me…the color on the Samsung is always factually more accurate at higher peak brightness, due to the nature of color volume on a QD OLED panel. It feels like this review is a bit subjective based off opinion and not fact. The S95C is better technology. Even Sony has shown that. Also depending on what retaileler you buy from (club stores) both will have that 5 year warrenty. And when it comes to regular tv or SDR the samsung will be more uniform with better color accuracy. They are both great TVs but it sound like a toss up when it’s really not. I’d personally be happy with either, as I already own an LG oled. LG was an maybe still is the king of oleds, but MLA won’t keep them there and I hope they adopt QD oled sooner than later.

      Ironically you’re also biased. The Samsung is NOT factually accurate, but rather over processed and almost animation (cartoon) like.
      Further, the Samsung OLEDs have a pink undertone which is very Brodie on whites, and this is very off putting.
      The LG is more real.
      Only one point I agree with you is that Sony still the best, but cost 1/3 more for the same size, for marginal gain.
