      In a store no-one is watching a 10000 nit Spear's and Muncil disk. The Best Buy video didn't really show much difference between the 2. You pointed out in your video what I was seeking at Best Buy. The MLA only reflects just a small amount of lost light. Which the C3 doesn't loose a lot of in normal content.

      @@Jay41015 For the G3 having MLA it is. However it is still better to wait for better price drops. The content that you watch on a C3 isn't going to be very noticeable when seeing both Tv's side by side. I saw both up close and there isn't much of a noticeable difference. If your question revolves around your personal buying decision the only person that can really answer your own question is you. With MLA your only supposed to get like 20% more brightness out of the G3.
      I believe the G3 has a few other features that the C3 doesn't have as well. WOW Orchestra I think is one. I don't remember. I don't have an LG Sound bar either.

    Just got a 65" C3 for my home cinema, and moved my "old" CX 55" to my racing sim rig. I was worried that the C3 would not be much of an upgrade from the CX. The worry was unwarranted; it's a wonderful upgrade. Picture is even cleaner, brighter and more vibrant that the CX. It's incredible. I just couldn't justify the splurge for the G3 this time, but I don't feel like I'm missing out that much. The C3 is amazing!

      Yeah I was going to buy the G3 but I think I’m a go with the C3. The G3 is way more expensive which isn’t the problem for me. The problem is it only comes with a wall mount an no stand which is very hard to believe…especially as much as it is in price difference. Plus I’m not a wall mount type guy to be honest. I want to be able to move my tv easily and whenever I want without any help. With a wall mount I don’t have that option an it will take longer even with help. An yes I do understand you can buy a stand for it for an extra $150 an up depending on the size. Which is beyond crazy in my opinion smh

    Just myself got a 65 inch C3. I’m pretty excited, it’s my first OLED TV .. I’m simply not a fan of super bright TVs where the colors feel almost too saturated, too unrealistic, I always have a hard time using my Dad’s Samsung S95B too, or any of their TVs in general. Maybe it’s just me but after spending the day comparing the C3 in store to the G3.. I felt the the former to be more natural in color with a nice balance to it. Great side by side video, I’d say it’s pretty accurate to what I experience today up close

      I’m shocked that more people are not mentioning this. Most on YT only cover the ATV tabletop box. The fact that the regular ATV+ app on all TVs now also supports HDR10+ is a bigger win for Samsung (than having to pay the ATV extra $150)
      I bought the new Creed III on ATV+ app and it displayed it in HDR10+

      I also noticed that the colors on C3 are more saturated, deeper. I even paused the film to compare the images and with the naked eye you can see that the colors are more saturated on c3. Maybe it's because g3 is more bright, so the colors are too bright. I was supposed to buy a c3 yesterday and canceled to wait for the g3. The only thing that speaks in favor of the g3 is the 5-year manufacturer's warranty and the brightness of better whiteness. I'd have to compare both live tvs to see which one is better. However, this video shows better colors in c3.

      @@Moon-lt1dl Well, the guy in the store put the exact same movie at the exact same time, with the exact settings on both and freezed it in some lower light parts and the G3 was overwhelmingly clearer and brighter. So, it's not a question of "will i be watching a lot of higher brightness content" as it makes a difference even in lower brightness content, which is interesting. The G3 is also less reflective of light, as i evidenced it in some tests he made with light, so also better for daytime viewing. Besides that, they're both excellent TV's. It would be less of a difference between the C3 83 and the G3 83 as the G3 83 does not have MLA. However, it's a pretty big difference between the MLA g3's and the C3. At best buy I can see a difference between the c3 and g3 and understand g3 being the higher end version...The overbrightness of white sometimes takes away from the rich color scheme where id question if im still looking at an oled or not.... If I toned it down I'm not sure if its worth the price compared to c3 where the vivid "popping" signature still occurs. But with colors there is an amazing difference for a good gradient as mentioned in the video. Color accuracy becomes questionable at times but maybe that's where the ai comes in based upon picture preference....unless you're a TV wizard who watches TV A LOT(movies or gaming) or has multiple LGs I doubt if you'd recognize the difference between the c3 and g3 when they're by themselves after a few weeks(also keep in mind if g3 color boost is available for your mode of playback) Overall, can't go wrong with either one but If you can afford the G3 or gotta have the best lol do it(I'd tone it down a little)...but c3 is still an extra clean tv that is good enough for me that I'll probably end up with C3 (a person who still is amazed by his CX 😁)

    TBH, I don't see much difference between the two sets based on your video Brian. If there are differences, then they appear to be very, very subtle. Maybe the differences are more obvious in person compared to a TH-cam video. After watching the videos by you and FOMO comparing the G3 to the S95C and now this comparison it's apparent that all the higher level OLED TVs from the big 3 brands have excellent image quality. In real home usage we don't have two TVs next to one another showing a paused video image so we can pixel peep and try to pick out every tiny difference. When we watch movies, ideally we're caught up in the story and not worrying that the sweater on the lead actress might be just a smidge too pink. Watching sports gets us caught up in the game and the competition and not concerned that the "Green Monster" in Fenway Park might be a touch under saturated. Of course an in-person viewing in a store should ideally be done before a TV purchase. Just select the size TV that's right for you, and decide on what features are important in your situation. Then just buy whichever upper level OLED is cheaper. At least that's what I intend on doing. Thanks.

    Thanks for helping me make my decision to get the MLA panel in the 77" G3. It's the closest thing I've seen to a 4K 3D television without the need for 3D glasses. I'm getting it to replace my Sony Z9D which was 4K and 3d. The Z9D got me accustomed to bright TV's with pretty good black levels, and the MLA panel G3 greatly exceeds it in picture quality and black levels with a similar level of brightness, but more immersion without the need for 3D glasses. Thanks again!

    The fact that an 83” G3 doesn’t have MLA is a massive dealbreaker for the 83” G3. The eye-watering price of an 83” G3 without the new MLA technology was very odd to me. I want an 83”, but I’m impressed with the G3 with MLA. Right now, I’m trying to decide between an 83” C3 versus a 77” G3 for a TV in room with a fair amount of natural light. Gaming via PS5 is definitely a big component as well. It largely comes down to the room and the price for the size difference (more money for less size on the G3). Any thoughts on choosing between an 83” C3 versus a 77” G3 when factoring in gaming in a room with a fair amount of natural light and the price? I’ve been second-guessing like crazy!

It looks like the exposure is set for the C3 output, which means the much brighter G3 gets blown out, desaturated, and actually looks bad. How is the C3’s panel uniformity? I would be offended if I bought an expensive television only to find a prominent pink-tinted band in the panel like what was found in many of last year’s WOLED panels, ruining their picture quality. Many demos of the G3 show the pink tint or other dirty screen effects being reduced to such small amounts that they can easily be ignored if they are even present. What I really want to know is whether the reduced pink tint and other dirty screen effects are results of LG Display upgrading its build process or quality control process to ship fewer defective panels, if the reduction of those artifacts in the G3 is a result of MLA helping the wanted colors overwhelm the unwanted pink tint or other dirty screen effects to the point that they can be ignored, or if LG Electronics is applying different quality control standards across different lines with the G3 and probably the Z3 getting the best quality control.

    On the LG Best Buy display they had 2 LG QNED TV's next to the LG Oleds it was my first time seeing these newer Oleds and mini LED display panels. [ I hate the word panels,it's a display] In years passed I always paid more attention to Led LCD Tv's. Any way you're not wrong for choosing a micro LED panel this over a new OLED TV. The LG QNED are just as fantastic in brightness and color accuracy for what I saw at Best Buy next to the LG G3 & LG C3. These micro LED TV's are so underrated in picture quality and over all brightness.
    My only complaint is that nobody wants to talk about, except for Caleb is the over the lifespan on mini led lamps because when these small individual lamps start to deteriorate at different rates and times the dirty screen effect is going to happen, and it's a topic every major TV reviewer wants to avoid, like they need to keep the subject alive about OLED burn in. However dirty screen effect is just as bad when watching sports or a bright scenes.
    I hate DSE with a passion but this subject rarely if ever comes up with new LED displays. However it's OLED burn in has to be a thing year after year. When you have TV manufacturers do things to mitigate it OLED burn in. Even with micro leds there is going to be minor blooming but going to have deeper blacks around that minor area will be bloomed.

    Thanks as always, for bringing the early comparisons brother! Always appreciate these videos, and “first looks”. 💜 These are the things I dream about on a daily 🙃
    “C3 has a more efficient panel”….(in terms of Vs the C2)
    idk about that one boss 😅 From what I’ve seen too, the C3 looks nearly identical to C2, tho I know you guys gotta push your narrative to sell these things lol. Sure, C3 will be/is better, but I’m telling ya side by side, you’d be hard pressed to see a true difference between those two sets. (C2/C3) C2 is absolutely an amazing TV imo, and what people should be considering, if they’re not jumping into MLA, and wanna get a hell of a deal on a last year model.
    I also don’t know about the whole color being better on the G3 narrative, in terms of having a larger color gamut or anything…gamut is the same as 2022 WRGB’s. Almost unchanged. Yes, MLA is helping focus the light better, so color are filtered a bit better…brighter panels and having a bigger color range for the panels luminance capabilities, does result in a more 3D/dynamic look. That is dynamic range there boss, and why we LOVE HDR! (At least most of us 😅 who aren’t 🦆’s)
    The real difference imo, is really in how the subpixels are being boosted. It’s not the panel being “better” per say, and is more processing related….fine tuning. The panels are unchanged, chemistry wise, minus MLA being added on the G series. So it’s sorta like the ole A90J did, when they got amazing color/color volume out of even a WBC panel, with their processing/subpixel boosting sorcery! LG’s really dialing in their OLEDs subpixel boosting algorithm and what not, these days, resulting in less white subpixel dilution (something that truly bothered me on my old CX, and I could never truly rectify, even with calibration) My C2 doesn’t have this effect, to the extent it takes me out of it…thank goodness! I immediately noticed the improvement. Glad to see them further improving color tho, and getting rid of a huge complaint of mine, that I had in the past.
    As far as raised blacks, and gamma/PQ tracking being off…(raised gamma look) Idc what OLED it is, you’re going to notice that…if you’re anything like me at least. Those things being off OOTB, are a BIG DEAL. (Remember the CX?!?) Sure, it’s an easy fix, but LG really needs to stop dropping sets, with black issues OOTB. It tainted the CX so bad for me. So this shouldn’t be glossed over, bc you can’t see it watching high quality demo material. Where these issues arise, are mainly in bit-rate starved content, like streaming. Those black level issue will show, mark my words. Also, mark my words that LG will fix it 😜 They should just try releasing things not “broken” tho. It helps. First impressions are EVERYTHING

    • @tears2040
      @tears2040 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I was in store recently and did not notice much of a difference if any with C2 vs C3.
      Need to wait for actual measurement videos, C3 upon my first impression looks extremely similar as C2. The LG C2 might be an excellent purchase now or even a G2

    • @ye-ROC
      @ye-ROC ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@tears2040 Hey man 👋 Been awhile since I’ve talked to ya! Pretty sure we’ve been at it before in the comments lol.
      That’s been my experience seeing them both, myself too tho. I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing to be saying either. Great for consumers who still want some of the best PQ out there, without breaking the bank too bad, and getting involved in first Gen tech with the kinks (granted there is). It just means you can pick up last years model, for a cheaper price, having basically the same TV, and not be taking a huge hit in regards to your FOMO, bc there really is none…unless you look at the G series 😅 Got some myself to work out 😜
      It really shows too…imo, how little there really is to improve on the “plain Jane” WRGB without MLA. It’s really been optimized to the best is can be, while staying really reliable. I personally noticed a HUGE improvement in LG’s processing, with the “2” series last year. It truly was finally a match, if not better than Sony’s processing (in some ways) “From my experience”. I’m at least finally confident saying there’s nothing wrong with LG processing, where in the past, I was singing a different tune, bc I just didn’t think my CX was great in the processing game. Mainly when it comes to lower bitrate, highly compressed content.
      We are really at peak performance of WRGB, without going back and creating another new panel, or something to add to the existing panel, like MLA.
      I know I personally love my C2, the same way I did, the day I got it, and was expecting underwhelment…
      I haven’t personally measured any C3’s. But from the measurements I have seen, done by certified calibrators…the C2/C3 are on par with each other, plus or minus 5%. At least that seems to be the consensus. Still around 800 nits peak, and 160ish full field, peak white. Some might not be thrilled by that, but damn does it bring a polished and immersive HDR experience. Never have I felt the C2 was “dim” either. I still go “wow” at my C2 to this day.
