@@GrimReaper86107 If anything happens that changes the TV significantly I will definitely talk about it, these types of thing I usually just save for live stream discussion since the videos can be outdated quickly if another update releases that fixes whatever happened.

I have the 77” s95c got for $2989 at bb open item and have 60days to return or exchange. I’m slowly falling in love with it, but want the most 3 dimensional out of the tv so thinking about the LG G3 if it’s the same or if g3 has more pop. Do u know if it does??? Some says it does and some says it’s the same … what u think?? Should I keep my s95c or get a g3 but price is now $3999 for the 77” g3 but still more than my open item 77” s95c.
I'm convinced - NOW keeping the S95C as my reference TV obviously this is THE TV to buy in 2023 and those of you who have it, congratulations! I don't see it getting much better in 2024 beyond improved image processing which is still a step behind LG/Sony.
@Sonola777 same was said last year and Samsung actually beat lg lol lg came in last in the oled tvs in both the US and UK shootouts. I expect the same this year. It will win some categories due to its brightness but that's it.

The Samsung S95C is in the running in 77" along with the G3 and the Sony A95L. I'm just waiting for Sony to get off their butts and put out their TV so I can make an informed decision.
Just upgraded to s95c from s95b and have to say HDR impact is noticeably better with the added color volume and brightness. But only noticeable if you use the extra settings and are not looking creators intent settings. If you prefer the dark creators intent settings then really can't tell much if any difference between the C and the B. But if you take advantage of the extra brightness really is a step up in HDR and SDR. Plus noticed the picture processing seems to be better with the C. And build quality is definitely a step up as well.
@@djdancing2000 I can definitely say the s95c asbl isn't as bad as the s95b. I watch podcast and the s95b would get dark pretty quick. So far not as bad by any stretch. And it only happens on content where the content stays consistent like if the display was pauses. So far the s95c imo is a substantial step up from the s95b. I still catch myself almost two months being like wow this is bright. And I don't use contrast enhancer on sdr. Still use low on hdr but have off the hdr active tune mapping. And I'm on the most recent 1205 update and happy Samsung didn't nerf the brightness.
Love the production KG, your time is definitely worth it! I love the evolution in your quality and content! Also great points with the S95C….I think a lot of people will be happy with it this year.
That’s true I don’t necessarily love the price either, but it will come down throughout the year for those who are patient also the S90C and S95B are still very strong alternatives.
Great stuff KG. I'm waiting for Costco to get the 77in S90C. They already have the 55 and 65. Should come out by the end of the month . My budget is 4000. Thought about the 83in C2 but ...I'm good on LG. I want that Samsung brightness...I know the 77in is gonna be a S95C just probably dimmed down a bit . Either way I'm not updating or connecting it online don't trust Samsung updates , I got a Nvidia shield pro for all my apps so I'm good . Anyways can't wait..

No doubt its a great tv, but it is limited in HDMI bandwidth to 40Gbps, which means if you have a high end pc, this tv will cause you problems unfortunately.
I just purchased the 55 inch Samsung S95C and it definitely has a bit more pop than the S95B which I also own but both tvs look freakin’ Amazing! The sound is better on the S95B with its killer bass! God Bless QD OLED
I own the s95B and planning to buy the s95c but I like the pop colors of the s95b so as you own the s95c so it have a better color saturation than the s95b like skin tones inthe s95b that look red something like that
I've had this TV for a week or so and really like it. I was using an Amazon Fire Stick to stream TH-cam TV but the WI-FI on this set is much better so I ditched it. The color, to my eyes is phenomenal.
It’s much more than that it’s way more refined and dialed in, the color purity was never as good with saturated colors, also with the added flexibility for users regarding their HDR it’s a good improvement.
Tv looks amazing! I also love the the video format KG, niceeee! I do want to see how a video from you on how airplay works on the s95b or s95c. my new s95b might sound good with my new Sonos gen 2 soundbar. 😊❤

KG the takeaway for me is the G3 appears to do full screen bright scenes better, but everything else the S95C...Am I close? Jyst need to see your QN95C vs S95C video now for my ultimate decision. Can I ask a question, I currently have a Samsung QN94A 77", it's a great TV but tech moves on. Will I be wowed by the S95C in comparison. I know I can wander into a store and check but just wanted another opinion.

Hey KG! Video idea for you: Review/Compare the S95C (or B) with an HDFury Arcana 2 - it enables Dolby Vision on Samsung TV's. I just got an Arcana 2 to use with my S95B and it was super simple to get up along with my Apple TV 4K, which now allows me to enable Dolby Vision in settings. Picture quality/colors got an immediate boost and everything just looks richer and deeper. It is a seriously stunning picture. I would love to hear your take on this and how it compares to TV's with true Dolby Vision like the G3.
Thanks for the idea, it might be something I look into for a secondary channel down the line. This channel is all about the average buying experience out of the box with the only changes made with the settings menu like most users would do. I do appreciate the extra stuff people do with external devices and software I think it’s a cool community within this community.

Is it worth going for the s95c over the s90c 250 dollar difference where I am currently??? Picture quality wise don’t really care about one connect box or speakers
I just go for g3 love the pointer, 5 year warranty is even cheaper here in Holland. And I feel more confident with LG with burn-in. My TV cabinet is already full with PS Xbox home cinema set and TV decoder is not waiting for an extra boxAnd the LG seems to have a more 3D image with other reviewers.
Great review, KG! It's a shame that one of the best gaming TVs in a long time does not pass Atmos via eARC through an Nvidia GPU. I mean, sure, you can go AVR direct to ensure you get Atmos but then you're missing out on the 144hz capability of the display. A niche gripe, of course, but a gripe nonetheless. Always a trade off with these flagships, isn't it. 😛 Edit: For clarity, upon additional testing, this is not limited to eARC. The TV just doesn't play well with the audio signal being received when the PC is set to Dolby Atmos.
@@CraigyB34r It will pass Atmos from other sources (Xbox Series X, for example), no problem. It wont pass Atmos from the RTX 4090. I can't state it's a problem with other video cards, as this is the only one I have to test with. I'm not surprised that no one else has mentioned it. It's a pretty niche use-case. Hopefully able to be fixed by TV firmware and/or graphics card driver.
I think I'm following you here,@@CraigyB34r . I've just tested, and no. I'm not getting Atmos from the PC when set to TV speakers either, so it's not limited to eARC. Seems to me the TV doesn't like what it's getting from the GPU when the PC is set to Atmos. I've checked multiple resolutions to try and rule out bandwidth. It will accept bitstreamed Atmos as tested with the Dolby app on PC. Like I stated before, hopefully fixable with TV firmware and/or GPU drivers. This is reminiscent of the PC Atmos issue that plagued the LG C9 at teh 3090 launch I had that was eventually fixed in a later TV firmware.
Great video, really appreciate the time you take for making comparison videos and reviews, too many good tvs to choose from. Awhich would you choose between Sony A95k or Samsung S95C for streaming movies, TV shows, Nintendo switch and some 4k console gaming?
Thank you, in this situation I lean towards the A95K because you mentioned Nintendo Switch I do it give it the edge in that over the S95C plus it is likely going to drop in price more soon.
@@TechWithKG Do you know if there is a way to “Fit to screen” with the s95c? I wasn’t really satisfied with none 4K material (image quality wise) with the S95B. I’m thinking maybe it was zoomed in from the aspect ratio screen. LG allows you to”Fit to Screen” as opposed to using 16:9 per say.

I'm most likely gonna buy this TV in 77inch depending if I decide not to get a 85 inch but I'm hearing that the firmware updates nerf the brightness so can I just keep the TV OFF the internet and will it function normally without any updates??

i bought a samsung s95c 77 inch. I think the TV isn't bright enough! I come from a Q9FN 75 inches. last night we watched the new avatar on disney. Beautiful image but really too dark. even in a dark room! can someone help me what to do? I have tried several picture settings. I also notice that the TV is sometimes brighter than other times. It is much too dark even on standard mode brightnes 50, brightnes mode on high. can someone help? When i pick dynamic mode it is bright. Only for 1 minute then the brightness automatically decreases to way to dark
Maybe you have power savings on? Always double check the eco settings. Another thing to try is when in HDR go to advanced settings and change tone mapping to from Static to Active and maybe if you want that LCD look try Contrast Enhancer.
Either sammy needs to add hgig to their S95C game mode or LG needs to fix their game mode on G3 And A95L needs to chill on the dimming in game mode and come up with better pixel refresh stuff like lg does every 4 hours None of them are the perfect tv sigh... I mean, how hard could it be ? Its just so stupid at this point
Only if you make it that way. Of course if you don’t change the settings it will be the game genre it will default to something like that but Samsung gives you a lot of choices.
@@vmd1293 Thats not my field so you won't see that here, I would suggest just using the original preset if you have a 2023 samsung it is the only mode that is closest to accurate for game mode, Classy who is a calibrator found this to be the best method for game mode.
For color and skin tones, would've preferred a proper example, not just a dude with his whole face covered. Paler skin tones were not well produced on Samsung S95B. Samsung displays sometimes has problems with those scenes, there is a reddish/pinkish hue that distorts the color profile of the scene. Brighter is not always better. One can only hope Samsung did not repeat the blunders of S95B.
I showed a better example of the improvement to skin tone in the side by side comparison video I did the with the S95B on my channel. That red push was really cleaned up for skin tones.

If you like your new TV why are you even considering another TV? And for a $1000 more? Nobody can make that decision for you. But my advice is this: if you like your new TV, stick with it. Don't go and waist more money if you're already happy. You can always upgrade later.
It’s not really nerfed just made more accurate, the unfortunate part is they didn’t provide the flexibility of the dynamic tone mapping off or on so yes people will naturally think they lost a ton of brightness. I think that was a unique circumstance of being first year technology and the pressure of it not being accurate at all. This TV has drawn praise for its out of the box accuracy on the other hand. Long story short when using static tone mapping it looks very much like the S95B. The S95B just doesn’t have options if you want that look you need to use standard or dynamic or game mode.
S95B was a huge let down for several reasons, for example the horrendous near black clipping even after professional calibration and pixel refresh. Have they done anything about that this year? (since I haven't had the chance to test it out yet) Sony did a lot better in 2022 with Samsungs OLED panel for sure
Ahh I’ll go with the LG G3 less likely to get burn in because LG knows what there doing where as S95B and C already shows early burn in also the G3 is pushing 2000 nits vs around 1500 of the S95C looks like a nice tv though
What are talking about? Shows early burn in? Are you talking Rtings torture test? Notice that I mentioned "torture" in my previous sentence? Rtings test is a accelerated test that doesn't represent normal viewing habits. I have no worries about QD-OLED and burn in as long as I vary what I'm watching on a regular basis. Just like on WOLED TVs.
I saw this but the brightness wash out colors no have the same deep with g3. Im fan of samsung but they shit on customers i have qn90a in 85 the brightness its to much i use it on 15 to 17 so for use a tv for brightness irs a commom error. I beleved a good oled like g3 its so sufficient
mine was bent ironically but box was damaged in shipping so im guessing thats why, so far I havent heard many people or reviewers for that matter say their panel was bent, so seems like the bending isn't a issue this year.

I've seen the S95C (not wowed) and waiting for Best Buy to get the G3 and the Sony A95L and X95L. Most reviewers I've seen like the G3 a pinch better because it has a few more settings or modes that you can adjust it to fit your eyes. Waiting to compare the S95C to the G3 and when the A95L comes out in July. Gonna be a heck of a battle between these 3 TVs. The X95L is also in the picture because I may want to upgrade to an 85'. My winner is going to be the TV that has the best picture for me. Don't care about gaming, sound, price and all the other stuff that a TV can produce. Not like it was in 2018 when the Samsung Q9FN was CLEARLY the best TV on the planet. Great review KG!

@@TechWithKG No the guys who delivered it took it down there this morning, my back was already hosed when they got here. I felt a twinge yesterday when doing deep squats, and I guess it was a delayed reaction, it tightened up overnight and was really painful when I awoke this morning. I have a ruptured disc so it does this every 8-12 months.
I got the s95B. I sent my s95c back. For the extra £1200 I couldn't justify the marginal difference. A shame as I had high expectations for the s95c. I guess lets see what next years samsungs and sonys are saying. But I'm sure the new Sonys will have even more sony tax!
Most colorful TV but you show us "accurate representation blah, blah" film maker mode that looks nothing like punchy and it s underwhelming - are you paid by LG.
In the next update,when reviews are done samsung will bring down the brightness sicne they havent progressed in burn in and people will start hating them.we know how it goes
I'm good I had the s95b i took it back to the store also I have seen the s95c in person and compared to my Panasonic LZ2000 way to much pinkish in the skin and Samsung being Samsung skin tones and upscaling and processing and motion not on the same level .as Panasonic I have had my Panasonic LZ2000 for over a year with 2 updates , Samsung updates there tvs into the ground , the reason for 2 updates is because Panasonic sends there tvs from Japan to Hollywood and they have Hollywood colurists tune there tvs that's called giving a dam about your customers. I can care less about gaming I am into movies . I can see a gamer loving a Samsung TV. As soon as the MLA Panasonic MZ2000 is released they got my money. Plus the Japanese take processing seriously ,Sony. Panasonic and Jvc. All 3, better than the Korean companies lg and Samsung.

Game mode on LG G3 is currently broken - this year, Samsung has surpassed LG OLED in terms of troublefree gaming (obviously, who knows where things will stand in 4 months after a few firmware updates LOL)

How is the upscaler? I watch 720p streams with low bitrate. Is s95c better then the G3 in this case?

No dolby vision, does have hdr10+, does not pass through DTS via eARC so I have read.

Hey KG! Video idea for you: Review/Compare the S95C (or B) with an HDFury Arcana 2 - it enables Dolby Vision on Samsung TV's.
I just got an Arcana 2 to use with my S95B and it was super simple to get up along with my Apple TV 4K, which now allows me to enable Dolby Vision in settings. Picture quality/colors got an immediate boost and everything just looks richer and deeper. It is a seriously stunning picture. I would love to hear your take on this and how it compares to TV's with true Dolby Vision like the G3.
Thanks for the idea, it might be something I look into for a secondary channel down the line. This channel is all about the average buying experience out of the box with the only changes made with the settings menu like most users would do. I do appreciate the extra stuff people do with external devices and software I think it’s a cool community within this community.

I just go for g3 love the pointer, 5 year warranty is even cheaper here in Holland. And I feel more confident with LG with burn-in. My TV cabinet is already full with PS Xbox home cinema set and TV decoder is not waiting for an extra boxAnd the LG seems to have a more 3D image with other reviewers.
Great review, KG! It's a shame that one of the best gaming TVs in a long time does not pass Atmos via eARC through an Nvidia GPU. I mean, sure, you can go AVR direct to ensure you get Atmos but then you're missing out on the 144hz capability of the display. A niche gripe, of course, but a gripe nonetheless. Always a trade off with these flagships, isn't it. 😛 Edit: For clarity, upon additional testing, this is not limited to eARC. The TV just doesn't play well with the audio signal being received when the PC is set to Dolby Atmos.
I have never seen this mentioned before in any review. I know it doesn't pass DTS but it should pass Atmos?!?!
@@CraigyB34r It will pass Atmos from other sources (Xbox Series X, for example), no problem. It wont pass Atmos from the RTX 4090. I can't state it's a problem with other video cards, as this is the only one I have to test with. I'm not surprised that no one else has mentioned it. It's a pretty niche use-case. Hopefully able to be fixed by TV firmware and/or graphics card driver.
Does the TV play Atmos from the 4090 without a soundbar so it's just the eARC not working?
I think I'm following you here,@@CraigyB34r . I've just tested, and no. I'm not getting Atmos from the PC when set to TV speakers either, so it's not limited to eARC. Seems to me the TV doesn't like what it's getting from the GPU when the PC is set to Atmos. I've checked multiple resolutions to try and rule out bandwidth. It will accept bitstreamed Atmos as tested with the Dolby app on PC. Like I stated before, hopefully fixable with TV firmware and/or GPU drivers. This is reminiscent of the PC Atmos issue that plagued the LG C9 at teh 3090 launch I had that was eventually fixed in a later TV firmware.
@R3FL3XARC how about direct into soundbar and eARC into TV won't be 120/144hz but we just testing if atmos works.

@@TechWithKG Do you know if there is a way to “Fit to screen” with the s95c? I wasn’t really satisfied with none 4K material (image quality wise) with the S95B. I’m thinking maybe it was zoomed in from the aspect ratio screen. LG allows you to”Fit to Screen” as opposed to using 16:9 per say.

It’s had about 3 updates and nothing significant has been changed that makes the TV worse for HDR picture quality.

It’s better but not far better, it’s about 10-20% better very scene dependent.
i bought a samsung s95c 77 inch. I think the TV isn't bright enough! I come from a Q9FN 75 inches. last night we watched the new avatar on disney. Beautiful image but really too dark. even in a dark room! can someone help me what to do? I have tried several picture settings. I also notice that the TV is sometimes brighter than other times. It is much too dark even on standard mode brightnes 50, brightnes mode on high. can someone help?
When i pick dynamic mode it is bright. Only for 1 minute then the brightness automatically decreases to way to dark
Maybe you have power savings on? Always double check the eco settings. Another thing to try is when in HDR go to advanced settings and change tone mapping to from Static to Active and maybe if you want that LCD look try Contrast Enhancer.

Only if you make it that way. Of course if you don’t change the settings it will be the game genre it will default to something like that but Samsung gives you a lot of choices.

@@vmd1293 Thats not my field so you won't see that here, I would suggest just using the original preset if you have a 2023 samsung it is the only mode that is closest to accurate for game mode, Classy who is a calibrator found this to be the best method for game mode.
For color and skin tones, would've preferred a proper example, not just a dude with his whole face covered. Paler skin tones were not well produced on Samsung S95B. Samsung displays sometimes has problems with those scenes, there is a reddish/pinkish hue that distorts the color profile of the scene. Brighter is not always better. One can only hope Samsung did not repeat the blunders of S95B.
I showed a better example of the improvement to skin tone in the side by side comparison video I did the with the S95B on my channel. That red push was really cleaned up for skin tones.
I have the 77” s95c got for $2989 at bb open item and have 60days to return or exchange. I’m slowly falling in love with it, but want the most 3 dimensional out of the tv so thinking about the LG G3 if it’s the same or if g3 has more pop. Do u know if it does??? If you like your new TV why are you even considering another TV? And for a $1000 more? Nobody can make that decision for you. But my advice is this: if you like your new TV, stick with it. Don't go and waist more money if you're already happy. You can always upgrade later.

KG last year the S95b got the same reaction but then Samsung nerfed it. Do you think they’ll do the same this year?
It’s not really nerfed just made more accurate, the unfortunate part is they didn’t provide the flexibility of the dynamic tone mapping off or on so yes people will naturally think they lost a ton of brightness. I think that was a unique circumstance of being first year technology and the pressure of it not being accurate at all. This TV has drawn praise for its out of the box accuracy on the other hand.
Long story short when using static tone mapping it looks very much like the S95B. The S95B just doesn’t have options if you want that look you need to use standard or dynamic or game mode.

S95B was a huge let down for several reasons, for example the horrendous near black clipping even after professional calibration and pixel refresh. Have they done anything about that this year? (since I haven't had the chance to test it out yet)
Sony did a lot better in 2022 with Samsungs OLED panel for sure
I think Samsung is holding the full potential of the S95B back to sell more TVs of the new generation.

What are talking about? Shows early burn in? Are you talking Rtings torture test? Notice that I mentioned "torture" in my previous sentence? Rtings test is a accelerated test that doesn't represent normal viewing habits. I have no worries about QD-OLED and burn in as long as I vary what I'm watching on a regular basis. Just like on WOLED TVs.
I saw this but the brightness wash out colors no have the same deep with g3. Im fan of samsung but they shit on customers i have qn90a in 85 the brightness its to much i use it on 15 to 17 so for use a tv for brightness irs a commom error. I beleved a good oled like g3 its so sufficient

mine was bent ironically but box was damaged in shipping so im guessing thats why, so far I havent heard many people or reviewers for that matter say their panel was bent, so seems like the bending isn't a issue this year.

I've seen the S95C (not wowed) and waiting for Best Buy to get the G3 and the Sony A95L and X95L. Most reviewers I've seen like the G3 a pinch better because it has a few more settings or modes that you can adjust it to fit your eyes. Waiting to compare the S95C to the G3 and when the A95L comes out in July. Gonna be a heck of a battle between these 3 TVs. The X95L is also in the picture because I may want to upgrade to an 85'. My winner is going to be the TV that has the best picture for me. Don't care about gaming, sound, price and all the other stuff that a TV can produce. Not like it was in 2018 when the Samsung Q9FN was CLEARLY the best TV on the planet. Great review KG!

I felt a twinge yesterday when doing deep squats, and I guess it was a delayed reaction, it tightened up overnight and was really painful when I awoke this morning. QN95C can accurately display 1,000 nits HDR content without needing to resort to any tone mapping, best tv ever made imo

I'm good I had the s95b i took it back to the store also I have seen the s95c in person and compared to my Panasonic LZ2000 way to much pinkish in the skin and Samsung being Samsung skin tones and upscaling and processing and motion not on the same level .as Panasonic I have had my Panasonic LZ2000 for over a year with 2 updates , Samsung updates there tvs into the ground , the reason for 2 updates is because Panasonic sends there tvs from Japan to Hollywood and they have Hollywood colurists tune there tvs that's called giving a dam about your customers. I can care less about gaming I am into movies . I can see a gamer loving a Samsung TV. As soon as the MLA Panasonic MZ2000 is released they got my money. Plus the Japanese take processing seriously ,Sony. Panasonic and Jvc. All 3, better than the Korean companies lg and Samsung.

Lol gamemode on LG is def way better than Samsung.
Except game mode on the g3 is broken and every reviewer has to use filmmaker mode with ALLM to game because game mode looks so bad.
Game mode on LG G3 is currently broken - this year, Samsung has surpassed LG OLED in terms of troublefree gaming (obviously, who knows where things will stand in 4 months after a few firmware updates LOL)
Unfortunately this just isn’t the case. Picture quality is compromised in LG’s game mode this is especially true this year.

Doesn’t have Dolby vision. Therefore it isn’t the complete TV. End of. Plus, it’s also a Samsung. Will go wrong with the next update.
