Love the project! I've been playing hammond for 30 plus years. Never met a clone that didn't disappoint including my XK5, Viscount Legend and Mojo. They all sound good on youtube but don't have life like my B3. Still super cool organ. Perhaps this one sounds alive....Cheers Zoersel
That sounds really good. I customized an old Korg dual manual organ to trigger via midi the Hammond B3-X app, using a set of Viscount pedals triggering a custom bass module I program for the pedal sound, then that goes through a subwoofer only. The B3-X app goes into my Leslie speaker so the real Leslie helps a lot. It sounds good and I am happy with the result. I would love to compare the B3-X app with this HX3 module. Maybe I will reach out to them.
The XK5's the most outdated clone on the market (the VASE engine's nowhere near as good as the software B3-X): aside for the three-contact points (which are anyway just MIDI artefacts, not actual hardware) keyboard, everything else is vastly inferior to Crumar, Viscount and HX3.5's emulations.
Sure the Hammond B3 is the best of all, there is no need for you to switch to these clones. The thing is, though, that clonewheels are made to serve as alternatives to those who either cannot access a Hammond B3/Leslie 122, or just don’t like lugging them around. As accurate or inaccurate as they are, a real B3 and 122 just isn’t accessible to some people. This are where the inexpensive, portable clones become options.
Beautiful craftsmanship and some great playing too!
Great job. Well done.

Very nice looking cabinet..
I investigated the HX3, but went for XK5......but HX3 sounds great, and certainly is a lot cheaper......great job!!
The HX3 concept is also very reliable and fool proof.

I'd have been happy with the MDF prototype case my woodworking is rubbish!

What you hear is the previous version of the HX3.
The HX3.5 is the improved version.
Nice recreation attempt but it’s still not a B3
Obsolete nonsense, this is pure nostalgia .
