    Estupenda explicación sobre las válvulas, pero no acabo de entender que vamos todos hacia unificar por ejemplo a USB C y, en cambio, volvemos a una válvula del siglo anterior, salvo por peculiaridades de una llanta de carretera donde no hay otra opción.
    Hablamos de Schrader (1.500 millones de vehículos) 1 mm de diferencia, no es objeto de rotura de llanta, la practicidad universal, no lleva tuerca, aguantan presiones altísimas como en los tractores, tráiler, motos de enduro etc., comprobar la presión es mucho más práctico, se pueden tubelizar, desmontaje del obús súper práctico, inflado menos arriesgado al inflar con mancha en la montaña al no doblar, me cuesta muchísimo entender ir hacia atrás.
    De todas formas felicitaciones por el video, sigo mucho tus consejos, eres un gran comentador.

    Thanks for your video. I noticed that for inner tubes with Schraeder valves is the option for two valve lengths? one being 48 mm while the other is around 35? mm . Is there any rim compatibility that should be considered in which valve length to use? Thanks

    • @TheMarkSicola
      @TheMarkSicola 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, rim profile will always be a consideration no matter which type of valve and or tube/tubeless set up you are running. This is why they come in various lengths. If you're not sure, always go for the longer length. That way, you most likely have something that will work, even if it's a bit tall/longer than needed.

    Riding bicycles since a child, I was always taught to lift the lever, put it on valve stem, and THEN close (lever down). Start pumping. So now the professional cyclists are saying the opposite. Did the mechanics of bicycle pumps change since the 1960's?

    • @TheMarkList
      @TheMarkList  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot has changed since the 60s! But I'm going to say yes... The old silca pumps had no lever for a presta valve, you just pushed it down and it stayed in place.

    I would like to know why so many used mountain bikes are sold without pedals? And what would be a good cheap beginner pedal to get ?
    I would like to know how to adjust the brakes so they don’t squeak and how to adjust the brake hand grip so that it applys the correct pressure. I would like to know what a good set of brake upgrades would be?

    Does it matter what position the shredder/presta valve is in when pumping it up?
    I see some people put it in the 6 o'clock position and some in the 12 o'clock.
    Physically speaking, doesn't the air want to travel up so if you pump it from the top it'll have a harder time making it's way down uniformly?
    However, we are talking about a circular rolling device. So maybe the air just sets as you ride.

    • @TheMarkList
      @TheMarkList  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People put it at 12 o clock so the sealant is at the bottom. It's not hot air so it won't rise or sink for that matter. If it's a tube, it doesn't matter where. 12 o clock is closest to the person ans you don't have to bend down to take the pump off as much. Make sense?

    • @smartdummy5751
      @smartdummy5751 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheMarkList ah. Thanks for the answer. I always wondered if it mattered and couldn't find an answer online.

    • @smartdummy5751
      @smartdummy5751 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never sealed a tire for tubeless wheels but I imagine that when the sealant is wet and you pump in air, if the valve is at the bottom (6'clock position) it would be like pumping air into water cus the excess sealant will flow down to the bottom of the tire.

      Paula, if there's still air in the tire, then the valve core is still inside and can probably be removed and replaced. If the core actually shot out, you'd have no air in your tire/tube.

    I am challenged at time with the readings I get from gauges when attempting to fill my bike with presta value. I get strange pressure reading. Any idea what may be causing this. This never happened with my shraeder value tires.

    • @TheMarkList
      @TheMarkList  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the valve is slightly clogged, then the initial pressures will be off. I usually push the valve down before I pump up the tires. This releases some air but also clears the 'airway so to speak' and allows air both in and out so that your pump will read the correct pressure. I also recommend getting an actual digital air gauge to measure your air pressure. Let me know if this helps.
