Bought a bike second hand. I didn't know about the Presta locknut. Now I can fill my tires! Thank you. Showing the inner workings of the valves was great
I recently purchased a used bike and didn’t realize till after the purchase that the front tire has a presta valve and the rear has a schrader valve, I guess that’s what I get for bike shopping on Facebook marketplace lol
Great video. These valves are new to me and I keep popping out my cores when I inflate the tires... I broke them twice already. This showed me how I was messing it up by accident. Doesn't help that I can't see these tiny things especially the threading... But that's my vision getting worse 😂
Excellent video! Very informative and easy to understand. I grew up only knowing one type of valve (Schrader) on my pedal bikes, 10 speeds, mountain bikes, motorcycles, cars and trucks. I can't count the number of times I had to pull into a gas station for a leaky tire. I didn't even know there was a different type of valve out there until I recently bought an e-bike. Thanks for enlightening us!
Thanks for the subs! You might be my new best friend! Here is a video showing my carry method when I bike: Sig P365 Concealed Carry Holster Option #sigp365 th-cam.com/video/OrZN9jsJlkw/w-d-xo.html I realize it is definitely not a quick draw type of set up, but having a gun on me is better than not having one at all!
If the valve core is OK, there shouldn’t be any reason you can’t get air into the valve. Make sure the lock screw is loose enough so that the threaded stem moves up and down easily.
Pretty much! Most of my bikes use Presta, and I don’t really mind because all my pumps easily adapt from Schrader to Presta. I get a lot of comments from people who hate the Presta valve but never really understood why all the hate? Thank you for your comment!
I’m use to the old school Schrader valves and not the new Presta valves which unfortunately, is what I have now on the Pathfinder Sport tires. Kind of terrible actually.
Thanks for the comment! I get a lot of comments from people that do not care for the Presta valve. I have them on most of my bikes and never had any issues so not sure why they are hated by some people!
Stupid presta valves on by bike. I prefer Schrader valves. Much easy to find a place to inflate the tyre. Presta just makes you work out with the manual pump. Hate it.
I have not heard anyone say that, but it is true that you find them on narrow rims, which typically carry tires that are designed for higher pressures. So, there is that…..

Great to hear! Good luck with your “new” ride!!
I accidentally bought the wrong inner tube and was confused about the presta valve. This was so helpful, thank you!
Glad it helped! I appreciate the comment!
Return that garbage

That’s interesting! Fortunately most pumps these days will do both. If not, a Presta adapter costs just a couple bucks.

Thanks so much for watching the video and leaving a comment. I’m glad it helped you out!
Such a great and thorough explanation video of the different valves; thank you!!!

Awesome! Glad to hear it helped! I remember when I got my first bike with a Presta valve. I had no idea! I really appreciate the comment!
Nice video Dave! I also like your gun channel and have subscribed to both 🙂. How do you carry while riding bikes? Like you, I enjoy both bikes & guns.

Nice video on your P365 setup. Thanks for the info.
Mine is so deflated I can’t get any air into the presta valve. Any tricks for that issue? Pump worked on a different bike.

cool so theres no particular advantage to presta, but it exists for fancy bikes that need the thinner hole or longer shaft

They're like belly buttons, one's an inny and one's an outie.
lol! I like that! Thanks for the comment!

The adapters cost maybe a buck or two. Sometimes free at the bike store. Easy.
Presta is for cool guys. Schrader is for dweebs
Lol
My ozark trail bike came with presta valves sooooo…not necessarily 😂
My favorite is when morons try and claim presta valves hold more pressure
I have not heard anyone say that, but it is true that you find them on narrow rims, which typically carry tires that are designed for higher pressures. So, there is that…..
I don't want a Schrader valve to blow up in my face.
oh man until i saw the disc brake road bike i thought this was a video from the 90s.
lol……thanks?
That classic flavor 👍 could be worse, Europe still has Dunlop valves everywhere
