I went to get my my trans fluid changed at nissan and nissan printed what will be used and how much. It said Valvoline transmission oil will be used. I denied it because I was shocked. I ordered amsoil and did it myself. I'm amazed on the difference on how it runs.
I never leave comments but this video deserves it. Thank you for explaining in detail the different aspects of the topic. Very informative and nicely compiled. Will have to check out the fluid lab analysis.
We have a 2017 Nissan Rogue It has 60000 KM or 37000 miles. We just changed the factory cvt fluid to Amsoil cvt fluid. What a difference in smoothness. Definitely a superior product, all fluids have been changed to Amsoil in this vehicle.
I have never had a CVT until now, but if the amsoils CVT fluid is of the same quality as their other transmission fluids, I'm not surprised you had a good experience!
Thank you Thank you for this video. I have been searching for answers and your video made it simple to understand the differences. Pour Point, Flash Point, etc.. We have two CVT transmisson vehicles and I drain and refill once per year. It does not take much time and we have never had any problems. LIFETIME TRANSMISSION FLUIDS IS A LIE!
I do the same thing with my CVT AWD Nissan Juke, About to go out and do a drain and fill today.. My car has full bolt On's and has been Dyno tuned to 265 AWDHP, and 256 AWD Wheel Torque.. I "Gained" about 120 foot lb's of torque to the wheels. Very nice sleeper.. I do a drain and fill usually at the end of June right before the super hot months.. That's when the fluid burns up and breaks down the most in the hot summer months.. Now people who live up north with Jukes or Rogues and have cooler weather and mild summers tend to see there CVTs last twice as long.. Because it's not burning up as fast.. I have been using AMsoil CVT fluid for about a year and a half now.. And I have no scientific way of proving it's better than the NS2 my car calls for other than it feels like it holds and grips the belt about 25 to 30% better than the Stock stuff does.. If you are on a Tune where you are making 50/60 more WHP then stock I would highly recommend using AMSoil.. The problem is when switching over you have to do 3 drain and fills right away and then do a couple more over the next year here and there to get the rest of the old stuff out.. Finally think of it like this.. This fluid is more for (protection) then pressure.. Think of this fluid like Motor oil.. You wouldn't drive around with burnt motor oil so don't do it with your CVT.. Please understand that if you have a heavy foot, You will burn that CVT fluid up with a year of using the Car, It's a fact.. Me personally think Drain and fills should be done every 15K to 20K and the Very minimum.. For me I do it under 10K..
In Jatco CVTs, there’s a filter in its oil cooler housing and transmission pan. The one in the oil cooler is to be replaced every fluid change. The one in the pan must be changed every 50-60,000 miles.
My CVT started to SLIP at 60k Miles so I changed my CVT fluid not with Nissan OEM NS3 but I put AmsOil CVT Fluid instead and started to run great again. No Slipping anymore. I took out 4 qrts exacly and refilled it with the same 4 qrts but when I checked the level, it was low so I added one more qrt. and it got to the correct level so I believe I had been running my CVT with low fluid in my CVT. I truly recommend AmsOil CVT fluid it not only does the job but fixes your CVT problems.
Most of Nissan cars have the problem with transmission, their fluid normally gets too hot, and cause slipping, whinning noise, lack of power, can this help if am switching to Amsoil instead of Nissan NS2? ? I have Nissan Xtrail T31, with CVT transmission.
Some people are convinced the Nissan Fluid NS-1, NS-2, or NS-3 is the only thing that should be used because "Nissan knows what they are doing." Nissan says in their own catalogue you can use other aftermarket CVT Fluids. Thanks for doing the research for us and sharing. My 2019 Nissan Maxima XL 3.5L thanks you. Just had my CVT Drained & Refilled two weeks ago at 47,000 miles. When I found out it's cheaper to buy a New CVT Transmission from Nissan, than to have one repaired, the red flag went up for me.
@Jon Mo just had my Cube done at the dealership and found out their CVT fluid is $28/qt. WTF!!! That's why I'm here right now. Getting info to change it myself which doesn't look difficult at all but now researching the types of CVT fluid that'll replace the expensive dealership overpricing
@@repairvehicle I have a megane 2015 1.6 with a nissan cvt transmission at 60 000 miles . The dealership recommended nissan ns-3 for my cvt . Since then i am having a slippage on higher rpm's and between shifts . I had a fight with them since they refused to admit there fault . Anw i tried dexron cvt oil . It feels much better but still having some slippage . What oil do you recommend to fix the issue?
@@WealthBeyondFame, once cvt starts slipping its a major sign of major wear. You are not going to find atf that will eliminate the slipping completely. Amsoil great for cvt and none cvt. It might slow down slipping but I don't know for sure.
@@repairvehicle thank you for the info i do have one more question about a product/additive from bar's leaks , called cvt transmission fix . What are your thoughts about it and how it works by making the oil thicker or thinner?
Great information…..I have been using all Amsoil fluids in my Harley’s for years. Never had an issue, however it typically has been more expensive than the H-D dealers. I swear by Amsoil in my Harley. I am know switching over to Amsoil for my Nissan and before I pulled the trigger, I am reviewing as much info regarding SUV’s. Thank you for your post and your research and yes you are correct even the H-D dealerships try and use scare tactics so you will pay the $400.00 oil change….yes that’s correct $400.00 for an oil change at H-D. Great video.
Very good research and great informative video. Just had Nissan change mine out('14 Cube) and cost me $250+. They charge $28/qt = NO WAY and now I'm gonna change it out myself with either Castrol Tramsmax, Amsoil or Valvoline (all have good reviews). Again.... GREAT VIDEO SIR
I can comment on testing. I started using Castrol & Valvoline CVT fluid on my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder at around 70k miles. It ran great. The clutch in the transmission started to have issues around 220K miles so I traded it in at that point. 220K miles on a CVT transmission is not bad.
Just purchased 2020 murano for my wife & first thing I did when we got home is ordered every Amsoil product available & began replacing the factory fills. It will take a few drain fill cycles to rid the transmission of the inferior fluid. Thanks for posting.
@@edwinalexander1170 i’m really happy with the Amsoil products, outstanding my only complaint is the cost. Sorry for the delayed response, I’ve been in the hospital with a nasty case of Covid.

My daughter's 08 Sentra S has 175k on it. This CVT is definitely the exception. I've changed the fluid one time. Thank you for the info! Last time I used fram because I couldn't afford Nissan's insane price. Now I will use Idemetsu!
I'm about to do the same and looking for the right fluid. Did you drain all the old factory fluid out of the cvt? Or just 3 or 4 quarts then fill the rest up with new amsoil ? My question is this is what I want to do, but seems I would be mixing 2 different types of fluids even if I drop the pan. Wich I'm planning lol
Castrol work just fine I use it in my 2013 pathfinder is being almost 3 years now and cvt is shifting fine . nothing is going to happen people. Don't worry about color Nissan ns3 is green Castrol is red . I about to use it again on my second pathfinder now . good luck out there

I would encourage you all, when you get ready to have your CVT Fluid drained & refilled, have the person changing it save a sample for you so you can have it tested in an independent laboratory. See how the factory CVT Fluid is doing. Then, if you go with an aftermarket fluid, at same amount of mileage send another sample of that fluid and do a comparison. Then you can see an apples to apples comparison.
@@repairvehicle Absolutely correct. Never take samples from a filter !!! Samples should always come directly from fluid being drained. Thanks for pointing that out !!!
Hi My friend. Good info as usual. Just a quick note. At 10:30 you talk about CST higher numbers removing heat better. It is actually the opposite. Higher viscosity retains heat and does not remove it as well as thinner. Not that it would honestly matter at such a small difference. 6.2 -7.1 cst at 100c is not much of a difference at all. Heat transfer coefficient reduces with increase in viscosity of fluids, which is basically due to more intermolecular forces, which perturbs the motion of molecules and hence, the convective mode of heat transfer is reduced
Nice video with one exception. Near the beginning, you basically say Nissan NS2 fluid is junk, then near the end of the video you show a slide from Amsol showing the difference in belt wear with Amsol vs NS2. The relent comparison would be Amsol vs NS-3
Just changed my 15 Rogue sv Awd 51k (one owner) with Castrol cvt. Pumped 4 out on cold morning. Signfiganly better than OEM. Smoother. Was dark brown. Mobile one 75-90 axel for diff. Changed at 40 k. OEM was shit. Thank you for everything you do 👍
I know for sure that All of Nissan fluids are Total garbage. That I believe why people hate them. I use Penzoil 5-30 synthetic motor oil and hear no valve ticking. Very good stuff. Those are my recommendations. And Amzoil are better Banks diff cover company did a test and found out Amzoil the best
Thank you for this info. I am about to look into a transmission flush, filter and fluid change but don't know who to trust here in Central Florida. Pretty sure the last time I'm was supposed to get a free oil change that was owed me at my dealer, they didn't do jack. Sucks to be in this position as a 100% Disabled Vet.
Брат!!! Great video man, thorough explanation… I love your approach and attitude! You gotta educate yourself if you don’t want to be taken advantage of, it’s that simple. A lot of people just don’t want to be bothered, so they end up paying for it. I recently bought a used Nissan Rogue and this is perfect info, just what I was looking for. Many thanks… 👍
What an interesting and helpful video. Rather than just pushing a product such as factory or special aftermarket, you show exactly what's up with these fluids. Personal nally I have had best results and longest life using Amsoil CVT fluid. But we have also used Castrol Transmax CVT with good results when we got a bunch of boxes on clearance at fraction of retail. After using it up we have gone back to Amsoil as it's price vs quality still beats everything out there.
I got My Altima with 50k frome a dealer now it's has 117k am going to change the cvt fluid I wanna put amsoil however idk how should drop the pan draint the fluid and relief is that enough coz I don't know how to flush it ?
Can you mix the brands? Ie drain 3-4 quarts that has been Nissan brand and replace with 3-4 of Amsoil? Not sure if I'm over thinking this but with engine oil I wouldn't even ask the question. Seems each brand of transmision fluid has magic ingredients when in reality it's just a lighter weight oil of sorts.
Greetings from Egypt. I am a new owner of the Renault Duster, or Dacia Duster as it’s known in Europe and other places around the world. The Duster here only comes with a 1.6 L engine and a Jatco CVT transmission. This is not my first CVT, I used to have a Honda HRV 2005 and I regularly maintained its transmission by changing oil and filter every 40 000 kilometers. The car never broke down and worked fine for 150K until I sold it. My experience with the Honda CVT made me confident that the duster CVT transmission maintenance should be fairly simple. So I after I bought my Duster, I called my local Renault service shop to discuss the car and when I asked when would be the first CVT fluid change, he said never... and he continued to say that the head office informed him that the fluid and filters will not be changed and that if any owner changed the fluid their car would lose the warranty.... I’m confused 🤷♂️
I jus looked into doing a flush for a CVT. Straight out of the assembly line some cars are below the specs causing damage over time. This alone is 💯 right. I’m not surprised how stealer ships function because Iv done it for 20 years. I no longer can work for certain dealerships because of the fact on how people are ripped off....like a true robbery. The internal cartridge filter & the metal internal are a must to replace & they do not even tell you. Every 30k this is recommended. I will use other CVT for the flush & blend it with Nissan fluid. The motor does all the work for you by pouring the new fluid to do the flush. Regardless thank you for sharing the truth. I jus subscribed too. 💯🏴☠️
The belt you are showing is a JATCO belt that consists of links around steel bands. Most other (good) CVT's use chains consisting of thousands of links hooked together without the steel bands which can stretch and break.
No. If you use anything than what is recommended you may lose your warranty. After warranty period it is up to you. I still use only original CVT fluid after warranty expired.
Nice video. It is hard to say whether Nissan "doesn't make their own transmissions" or not. JATCO historically is a company that Nissan spun off and merged with other companies decades ago. But I have to believe that Nissan has a strong hand in what goes on at JATCO, especially since Nissan is still a primary consumer of those JATCO transmissions.
Do I need to flush the OEM CVT fluid before I use the new Amsoil CVT fluid or is it ok to mix the new Amsoil CVT fluid with what will be left of the old OEM CVT fluid inside the CVT transmission? My 2015 Nissan Altima OEM CVT fluid is Nissan NS-3. Regards.
If you drain from the bolt at the bottom of the pan, you will probably only get about 3.5 quarts of fluid out of the transmission. The transmission holds somewhere around 7 or 8 quarts total (sorry, I forget exactly how much... But it's at least double of what will drain out the pan.)
I drained and filled with Castro. Repeated three times and fluid was pure red after the last drain and fill. Drove 15 min after each drain and fill to move fluid through the cvt. Feels like new new after 115k miles.
I was just wondering if you ever did this oil change in your 2015 Altima using the Amsoil and how it worked out for you if you did. I just bought a 2017 Altima and will be looking to change my fluid in the spring, but am a little reluctant with all the fear-mongering about only using Nissan fluid. Thanks.
My observation why Nissan do label theyre fluid as "Genuine NISSAN Fluid" is to remove themselves a responsibility to whatever happened to your car's moving parts if you use other products, like a scapedoor to avoid consumers blame on theyre technology itself like the CVT technology they using now.Very enlighting video!
For your information; today I put Idemitsu NS-2 in my 2010 Altima CVT with 102.200 miles on it. I could not find Castrol because so cheap. There is no problem so far but first day. I let you know if any problem in the near future.
How to replace factory cvt fluid to Amsoil cvt fluid properly ? Because when you drain fluid , and some fluid still left in converter . 2018 Honda Accord sport 1.5 turbo cvt (3.9q)
Couple drain and fill, that's proper way to get as much as possible fresh fluid into transmission. Make sure to use amsoil for best transmission protection www.amsoil.com/lookup/auto-and-light-truck/2018/honda/accord/1-5l-4-cyl-engine-code-l15be-a-turbo/?volume=us-volume&zo=5257753
What is the expansion rate on CVT fluid? If you have 1 liter at 72 degrees F, then heat it to 150 degrees F, does it increase volume by 3%, 5%, more? The reason I ask, the factory makes it impossible to measure the fluid since there is no dipstick. They further state that the transmission must be at a very specific temperature range to check the fluid level. You can't access that data on a typical tablet hooked to the OBDII port. I use my hand to ensure the pan is warm but not hot, then check the fluid level at the overflow, but I would feel better knowing what the expansion rate is.
Hello i have Nissan Sentra cvt 2014 my mechanic replaced transmission fluid with the brand febi cvt oil its Germany quality.. i want to know if its okay or not ? Thank you i hope you can help me with information
Jatco is a Nissan subsidiary company, originally a manufacturing unit of Nissan but separated slightly many years, I think, primarily to enable them to more readily supply competitor vehicle manufacturers.
I'd depends on the transmission. If it's cvt transmissionused. Amsoil cvt transmission fluid. If it's not cvt then different amsoil atf should be used.
I am from UAE here its called Nissan Xtrail,,,mine is 2015 model made in japan,,,soon after the warranty got over within 2 months there is a disturbing noise that comes at 40 kmph and gets louder as speeds increases...called the agency and they said ur warranty is over so you have to pay 30000 dirhams plus labour and tax which can 40000 dirhams nearly 11000 USD. I got shocked by their reply... mechanic told me they could have sensed this issue when I went for the 90k service as I've done all my periodic services from the agency itself otherwise it will void my warranty.... now I'm desperate dont know what to do ...took nissan as it was a reputed and reliable brand

Excited to see the content of this video. What is your opinion on Motul CVTF? There are good opinions here in Europe. It would be for use in a Subaru CVT box TR580. Thank you.
I have yet to have someone explain to me WHY you cant just replace the belt when it goes bad. I always hear CVT's are "not repairable"...WHY? Ive got a 2014 Altima that just started whining a couple days ago..114,500 miles on the car. What steps should I take now?
you can replace the belt but transmission have to come out. Replacing belt is not going to solve the problem, because all the metal shavings circulated throughout the transmission and everything needs cleaned replaced that has been damaged by the debris. So its not just belt replacement its whole transmission repair, which very costly due to time and parts. Best advice I can give to anyone is to never buy car with transmission that has a belt. You can replace the fluid and see if help for short time maybe a month, but you are screwed at this point and your car needs new transmission. Has the transmission fluid ever been replaced?

If am not mistaking, I have mentioned in the video that same company that makes Nissan cvt transmission makes it for Subaru. I think same company makes cvt fluid for Subaru as its for Nissan. I don’t know much about Motul transmission fluids. Motul has no test results or of any kind of data available about their fluid performance.
@@repairvehiclewas not able to find data on Subaru High Torque CVTF to compare both. Since they replaced the strainer, transmission was smooth on lower revz. On higher ones, I felt belt was slipping for the 1st time ever. do you think I should drain that Motul and try to source this High Torque CVTF ?
I would drain asap and not drive if possible until fluid is changed couple times. Slipping belt will cause a lot of damage. What is the mileage and year of your Subaru? Are you towing anything or off-roading?
@@repairvehicle The CVT is Ok when the vehicle is driven normally. But the WRX was created to be driven. I have compared the Motule CVTF Multi to HT, and the published data between these 2 is very similar. However, they oils compositions is not fully disclosed as we know it. The vehicle CVTF capacity is around 13 US qt. around 12.5 L, and replaced it at 75000Km. Am not towing anything with the vehicle and its condition is mint. LIFETIME TRANSMISSION FLUIDS IS A LIE!
You are welcome
As he said, change your CVT fluid, and also change out the filter as well if your CVT has a filter.

CVT Amsoil works great very smooth Ive used in my 2016 Nissan Rogue , now my Rogue runs better than before.. thank U Amsoil..❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your experience

Repairing them is alot more time and work to break it apart and diagnose it

Thank you for sharing this. That's very expensive oil change on H-D.
Read your paper work I've noticed they been using valvoline transmission oil. Use amsoil it totally made a difference
How often were you changing atf ?
Cvt fluid at nissan dealer in fresno ca is $ 42.00 a Quart and yes they told me i should use only nissan brand fluid. Thank you for the information.

Then you can see an apples to apples comparison.
make sure sampling done correctly without adding any contamination, dirt from transmission case.
@@repairvehicle Absolutely correct. Never take samples from a filter !!! Samples should always come directly from fluid being drained. Thanks for pointing that out !!!
The pictures on the amsoil vs Nissan comparison looked very different. Nissans results looked burnt and amsoil looked very protective.
Thanks great video. I'm going to change Transmission Fluid on my daughters Nissan Altima for prevetive maintenance.
Thank you
Nice video with one exception. Near the beginning, you basically say Nissan NS2 fluid is junk, then near the end of the video you show a slide from Amsol showing the difference in belt wear with Amsol vs NS2. The relent comparison would be Amsol vs NS-3
Is ns-3 better than ns-2? By how much? What is changed between 2?
Just changed my 15 Rogue sv Awd 51k (one owner) with Castrol cvt. Pumped 4 out on cold morning. Signfiganly better than OEM. Smoother. Was dark brown. Mobile one 75-90 axel for diff. Changed at 40 k. OEM was shit. Thank you for everything you do 👍

Glad it was helpful!

Yes you can mix Nissan with Amsoil cvt fluid

Read your owners manual, it should say. Don't let dealer scare you with false information
Excellent info, I guess the cats out of the bag for Nissan (Renault)
Can you add Redline and Eneos to your next CVT fluid chart?
Thank you
what do u mean the motor does all the work?
The belt you are showing is a JATCO belt that consists of links around steel bands.
Most other (good) CVT's use chains consisting of thousands of links hooked together without the steel bands which can stretch and break.
Chain or belt between two pulleys in the transmission is an engineering disaster
You didn’t go over viscosity index meaning 11:26
100% true. dealer use this mind control about factory. a good quality brand is just fine!
No. If you use anything than what is recommended you may lose your warranty. After warranty period it is up to you. I still use only original CVT fluid after warranty expired.
You are not going lose warranty. It's another fear scam tactic dealers use. Be smart and don't tell them.

Yep. Warranty safe and premium protection. Kudos to Amsoil!
For me , and my personal use , i use motul multi CVTF oil fluid cvt, its better , and work great, one of the best oils for cvt!! 👌👌
No car manufacturers make thier own transmission, except for gm and ford for certain vehicles
Regards.
You don't need to flush. It is OK to mix.
If you drain from the bolt at the bottom of the pan, you will probably only get about 3.5 quarts of fluid out of the transmission. The transmission holds somewhere around 7 or 8 quarts total (sorry, I forget exactly how much... But it's at least double of what will drain out the pan.)
Thank you for posting. Lots of good information. I’ll be changing trans fluid soon in my Nissan, I think I’ll give your product a try !
Thanks.
My CVT has a paper filter and it’s not advertised. I just bought this car CPO at 32k miles and the paper filter was absolutely choked with dirt
The Nissan actually uses 2 filters if you buy the kit it shows the gasket, a metal filter and that small paper filter.
Please what are the types of fluid used in automatic vehicles
Which vehicles?
My observation why Nissan do label theyre fluid as "Genuine NISSAN Fluid" is to remove themselves a responsibility to whatever happened to your car's moving parts if you use other products, like a scapedoor to avoid consumers blame on theyre technology itself like the CVT technology they using now.Very enlighting video!
For your information; today I put Idemitsu NS-2 in my 2010 Altima CVT with 102.200 miles on it. I could not find Castrol because so cheap. There is no problem so far but first day. I let you know if any problem in the near future.

You need to know temperature when to check fluid and then connect tool to obd2. You are not going to find expansion rate. I don't know either

Hi. Jatco made most of the cvts for nissan and suzuki. My car is suzuki alto eco s its kei car from japan. It has jatco made steel belt driven cvt. In the user manual it states to ise only green 2 cvtf. Do you recommend me using amsoil or any other brand for this perticular car which uses only green 2 cvtf? As original green 2 is not available in my country. Thanks wlot for the detailed video and green 2 and nissan ns3 fluids are 100% same fluids i have compared the technical specifications of both. There is no difference at all
I would use amsoil if it’s available

2006 Nissan Murano 3.5 with 170k miles requires NS-2. The CVT fluid is so low there's none on the dipstick. Do I flush or drain/ fill? Do I change filter? There's a leak that doesn't look like it's coming from the pan gasket.
Changing filter might be too late. Add fluid to the correct level and see if transmission still works ok, if it is then do drain and fill.
It still works fine by the way. It has a humming sound though. So, I will do what you reccomend. Thanks
Humming noise from transmission is a sign that transmission has been damaged due to low level.
Hello, what transmission fluid do you recommend for a nissan sentra 2014 with 90,000 thousand miles?
This is what I recommend www.amsoil.com/lookup/auto-and-light-truck/2014/nissan-datsun/sentra/1-8l-4-cyl-engine-code-mra8de-8/?volume=us-volume&zo=5257753
What brand do you recommend for Nissan X Trail 2004 model?
Automatic transmission?
Yes automatic transmission
If you want best protection for your transmission, I recommend this fluid www.amsoil.com/lookup/auto-and-light-truck/2004/nissan-datsun/xterra/3-3l-6-cyl-engine-code-vg33er-1/?volume=us-volume&zo=5257753
what gearbox oil can i use for a Nisan Cefiro 230JM
Can i just top up or i have to drain and put new one
We don't have your car here. Use quality synthetic gear oil.
I need to know ( bottom line )Castrol Transmax or Amsoil
Amsoil is the way to go for best protection
Thank you
Changing my fluid on My Nissan CVT , not doing a flush, just drain and refill , Can i use AMSOIL on my CVT and will it mix with what is in the current CVT fluid

Hello, I have a Nissan Pathfander 3.5 year 2015 with a CVT box. Can I change cvt castrol transmax oil without removing the filters?...
According to the Nissan dealer, they tell me that I should only use the oil they sell, that is, CVT Nissan NS3, and that if I don't do it and use another brand of CVT oil, my automatic gearbox will be damaged.
Can someone advise me?
Greetings!
How many filters do you have? Also, did you watch video without skipping?
@@repairvehicle It has two filters, the one on the outside of the transmission case cover and the one inside the transmission case.
Who makes honda cvt fluid for 2023 crv hybrid?
@@precisionlaser2158 , Honda doesn’t make. I don’t know. Buying expensive car like CRV worth considering buying high quality cvt fluid
Hello how are you doing I was wondering if Castro’s CVT would work for my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander SE?
I have not looked at castrol cvt atf specifications in long time and don't know if it's going to work
I have a mitsubishi with a Jatco JF011e CVT. I'm not confident about doing the research, can you recommend alternative after market fluids? Thanks

Your videos interest me a lot, if you could put the youtube settings with multilanguage subtitles to see them subtitled in Spanish.

What about the Nissan NS2 CVT FLUID?
Answer in the video
@@repairvehicleAlright can you just tell me please 😂😂😂
You had mentioned the ns2 transmission fluid was made my company did they report job so Nissan changed to idemitsu for ns3 transmission the test done by Amsoil were with ns2 transmission fluid which we know was made poorly by nissan supplier is there any other tests that Amsoil did that compared to Nissan ns3 new fluid against there's?
There is any that I aware of but keep in oem fluids are not best protection against wear
Excited to see the content of this video. What is your opinion on Motul CVTF? There are good opinions here in Europe. It would be for use in a Subaru CVT box TR580. Thank you.
I am not sure about motul, have not looked at their specifications. Do they have any tests results on their website
I would like a comment on Honda CYT, fluid, who makes it, I do know Castrol meets the specs
don't know, its another OEM fluid just like like Nissan cvt fluid.
I have found out I can use Castrol with complete conformance in my Honda CVT trans...
@@repairvehicle Yes, was drained and replaced at 75,000 at dealer.
So that’s a good news, you might just need fresh fluid change and that could be a a solution to a problem
@@repairvehicle God bless you brother for your responses. Ive lined up a complete flush and dual filter change at dealership in a couple days. Cars was driven less than 20 miles at first sign of the whining noise. MAYBE I caught it in time.
@bradfordrobertw , God bless you too my friend! Thank you
2012 Nissan Sentra SR 160k miles. Can I mix Valvoline CVT fluid or Castrol CVT fluid with the original Nissan NS2 oil, or do I have to do a full flush? Current transmission oil looks clean

Great video. Any idea who makes Subaru genuine High Torque CVTF ? and how is it compared to Motul Multi CVTF?
If am not mistaking, I have mentioned in the video that same company that makes Nissan cvt transmission makes it for Subaru. I think same company makes cvt fluid for Subaru as its for Nissan. I don’t know much about Motul transmission fluids. Motul has no test results or of any kind of data available about their fluid performance.
@@repairvehiclewas not able to find data on Subaru High Torque CVTF to compare both. I had my subaru dealership replace my CVTF and they used Motul Multi CVTF rather than the genuine Subaru High Torque CVTF. @ 48K miles.
What I have meant in the earlier thread is that when pushed to it max, I felt the belt slipping for the 1st time ever. So I am taking it easy till I get sourced a High Torque CVTF, cause my dealer is not sourcing these for economic reasons, while it is his responsibility. I am a WRX enthusiast and a mechanical engineer, and I enjoy taking care of the vehicle and enjoy driving it. Thank you for the video again.
Idelitsu I believe
Thank you very much for your video it gives me a better understanding. Very helpful thank you
