- This is the all-new BMW 3.0 CSL!
It’s been 50 years since the launch of BMW’s M division, and it’s celebrating the anniversary with the release of this limited-edition 3.0 CSL!
First things first, let’s look at the design… And what a design! It’s one of the wildest-looking M cars BMW has ever released, and as a result, it’s one of the best M cars ever released! Up front, there’s an updated kidney grille (which let’s be honest, looks SO much better than the new M3 & M4 grille) that comes with brushed aluminium frames. There are also vertical carbon fins on either side of the bonnet which were inspired by the original CSL. Around the back, you’ll find two rear wings, and the whole body is covered in smart creases. Oh, and let’s not forget that the whole body is made from carbon fibre!
On the inside, the 3.0 CSL looks very similar to the M4 CSL. However, bar a few badges and minor design changes, there’s one key difference… There’s a bright white gear lever embossed with a ’50’ logo, as the 3.0 CSL is available as a manual only!
Under the bonnet, you’ll find the most powerful 6-cylinder engine BMW has ever put in a production car. This 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six produces 560hp, which is 50hp more than the standard M4 Competition! BMW hasn’t released performance stats yet, but you can bet that this will come in at under 4 seconds.
There are only 50 3.0 CSLs set to be produced, making it one of the rarest BMW M cars around. Given that the M4 CSL was limited to 1,000 units and costs around £120,000, you can guarantee the 3.0 CSL is set to easily cost £250,000+!
But is it worth it?! You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

This car looks dynamite. The special grille is not only an improvement, there's also a slight 'sharknose' to it like the older models. Well done BMW. The folks that can afford a car like this are going to be the ones that don't care how much it costs. It's an investment, you're not gonna see it doing a grocery run.

What a difference the smaller grill makes. BMW lost me with the bunny teeth grills on the 3 and 4. This one is beautiful!

@@linus2982 that's what BMW owners all say mate. We know "runs fine" to bmw owners means it barely runs and everything is broke. BMW you fix one thing and immediately another problem arises. They are bottom of reliability charts for a reason mate. You cannot stick up for a company who are down the bottom of the barrel with Land Rover and Tesla.

@@ThrottleBody 100% right, I’m very disappointed, the concept looked so good and here we have this clumsy thing. It seems way to tall, doesn’t look planted at all plus the back is rather ugly. Only thing I like is the grill. Hoped for much better

FINALLY! I remember the 3.0 CSL Hommage from 2015 and how disappointed I was it wasn't going to production. But at last it's here! It's so beautiful
It is rather disappointing they wanted to play safe with the design & only managed to take only a small portion of the design to make it look like a custom body kit.
Perfection, that should be the look of the M4 facelift in my opinion

This concept was available in video games for years, and I always wanted BMW to make it real, they finally did it
I have heard people complain a lot about the design but I really like it the grill looks decent the tail lights look awesome and the overal design is pretty cool

This car looks awesome, i love it. This is how the m4 and m3 should have looked. BMW can still design perfect cars, there is hope for the future.
The front grill on that car is PERFECT! Why couldn’t they have put that grill on all of the other cars?
Fine looking beast. Love that grill and the fact that the number plate isn't an afterthought this time around. Paraphrasing what the Fiat 500 designer said doesn't matter if a number plates a flat bit of plastic. It should be envisioned in the end product.
My dad had an original BMW 3.0 CSL back in the 70's and 80's. It was an amazing car so I hope that this car is as equally amazing :)
i saw the concept car at 2015 and thought they would never build this and look at it now, its awesome!
In 1972 I was an Apprentice mechanic in a BMW garage. The original 3.0 CSL toured the (few back then) U.K. dealers. We all got to go in it (driven by a BMW rep though).

Their newer manual boxes are a disaster they get all the same issues the mk7 golf GTI and manual golf R box that had the bypass on it have. Constantly slipping on purpose and they don't last. Ridiculously bad boxes

@@dommazeti18 it's the ZF 6S it's a terrible box, the only difference with the 3.0csl is the ratios are different from other fitments. Learn what you are talking about man.

I want it! So happy they opted to go with a manual gearbox, nothing against the torque converter auto or a dct box, but I'm a sucker for high power RWD with a manual. So rewarding when you get it right but can also be costly when you get it wrong haha

BMWs newer manual boxes are a disaster. They have the bypass in them like the golf GTi/ manual Mk7 R and they get all sorts of issues especially on fast B-road use you get warming lights and a slipping clutch. Abysmal cars

This is the CSL the current one should’ve been all along. Lightweight, manual and “hardcore”, just like the original recipe. Not that I’d ever have the money to actually buy one 😅 Can’t imagine why they didn’t use these grilles on the new 3/4 series as they look a million times better.
