Since Miyamoto has confirmed that he’s Bowser Junior’s mom, then that means Mario and Luigi are brothers with Bowser Junior.

From what I read up, they were based on designs Nintendo drew up years ago but never used them. Given these facts, I find it a missed opportunity that Nintendo never even included a family portrait of Mario and Luigi's family in the Mario Bros. House in the games. That's the least Nintendo could have done.

Another good example would be on The Amanda Show. Amanda Bynes played the role of a crazy fan named Penelope Taynt, who was always trying to meet Amanda, but hijinks and bad luck would cause her to not be able to meet Amanda.
I'm most intrigued by Marilyn's parents. This suggests Mario and Luigi have another sibling that has somehow mysteriously stayed out of the limelight.

At the Nintendo world store in New York at the interactive Mario kiosk where you get to talk to Mario and Luigi as voiced by Charles Martinet, Mario often refers to his mother as his “Mamma Mia” and his father as his “Papa Pia”

10:29 Some live-action shows, like the famous Chavo del 8 in Mexico, actually used things like early chroma-key to make the same actor appear twice (for example, Florinda Meza interpreting Doña Florinda/Mrs. Worthmore and La Popis/Phoebe in the same scene), but the vast majority of live-action shows back then just didn't! And considering that El Chavo del 8 was produced in the 1970s and not in the 1980s, that's really impressive to me.

Pretty sure the actual real answer to questions regarding any parentage of any Mario characters from Nintendo is "Miyamoto is their mother/father".
Charles Martinet stated as Mario that his mother is Mama Mia Mario, father Papa Pio Mario, grandmother Grandmama Mia Mario, etc.
He is a man, a woman and a god.

After the babies were kidnapped again in Yoshi's Island DS, and aliens invaded the Mushroom Kingdom is Partners in Time, I always figured that the bros. parents went 'screw this' and fled to New Donk City. Or to our world. Take your pick.

So apparently, according to an old Nintendo power magazine, wario needed a tennis partner so that he could rival Mario and Luigi so he took to the internet to try and find someone, lo and behold he found someone named Jimmy Poppadopolos who would later change his name to Waluigi. Wario and Waluigi aren’t related but they formed a great friendship and maybe even a romance but together the two of them worked together to be the Bros greatest rivals

After years we found out his parents
Hopefully the upcoming movie gets into this whole theory and reveals to us who Mario and Luigi's family actually is. Knowing that Kamek will be in the movie, there's definitely gonna be a flashback of some sort. I've always wanted to know the mystery behind Mario and Luigi's childhood past.
There's also some other things pointing out that it will be about their past : Cranky Kong (the original Donkey Kong from the arcade) and Foreman Spike from Wrecking Crew, the old boss of Mario
I kinda want mario to have a baby so we can see a new original idea being brought into the mario games. Along with an another movie.
This would also bring the idea of Mario and Luigi being stolen into reality. Like the baby of Mario would have to save their dad and uncle. That would be a pretty unique idea.

I know it's cringy and hilarious to see that the same actors who played the Mario Bros with play the mother and Aunt, but I got to give them respect for the fact that they were comfortable to actually cross-dress and play these characters especially back then. And it was interesting to see them playing a variety of different people. There is such a resemblance between all these family members. That must mean the niece was adopted. She doesn't look anything like the rest of them. Lol

So the best we have is this:
Mario looks a lot like the father. Short, stocky, dark hair all around, bushy mustache; thus Luigi likely takes more physical traits from their mother.
My headcanon has always been that the Mario from “Mario Bros/Super Mario Bros” is the son of the “Mario” from every prior appearance.
Jumpman is Mario/Luigi's Father, and the damsel/Pauline is their mother. The original Donkey Kong is Cranky Kong.
@@cactusjack7614 Let's not forget that Donkey Kong Jr is not a sequel to the Arcade game, if we're to believe Cranky is the OG DK and Mario is Jumpman's son (heck, the Donkey Kong Jr game said Mario kidnapped Jr's papa, not Jumpman), then Donkey Kong '94 is the prequel to Donkey Kong Jr, as Cranky has made elitist comments about gameplay and graphics, to the point of mentioning game loops which the Game Boy version never had; not to mention, the Kong in DK '94 wore a necktie.
I saw a theory before about that. It was back at the '81 Donkey Kong game. The main character was Jumpman Mario, who were to save Pauline from Cranky Kong (he was the first DK), then, some time then, Jumpman and Pauline married each other. They had three kids. First, a girl, who was named Pauline II (or Jr) after her mother. Then it came the Mario Bros. But, because of the events of SMW2, they came a little late. Now, the rest, I don't know.
Nothing personal against anyone who supports this theory, but Jumpman is definitely Mario. Mario is consistently referenced as "Jumpman" in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Super Mario Odyssey, and more in ways that would make no sense if they were different people. Pauline never treats Mario like a son or brother in recent games, instead as a "friend", and specifically references getting kidnapped in the original Donkey Kong in Super Mario Odyssey. Kongs, like Cranky, Jr., and Tiny, are known to age really quickly. Furthermore, Shigeru Miyamoto and Yoshiaki Koizumi have both said in interviews that there is only one Mario. There are lots of fun Mario theories, but this one's pretty debunked.
@@CasualSunGod42 Well I got three things that proves this theory is right. In the GBA version of DKC2, Cranky mentions "whisking off maidens and throwing barrels seven days a week" back in his days. He was asserting that HE was the first DK before nowaday's DK. 2nd: As I just said above, the nowadays' Pauline is Pauline II, while the '81 DK's Pauline was her mother. Evidence: the difference of their styles. That first Pauline wears a pink dress, while the new Pauline wears a red dress. And 3rd: the fact Mario's franchise started in '85 makes this very accurate. So it's okay if you think this theory is very "debunked", but the facts are all there, so you can't deny it.
I've seen that too years ago and used to believe it but Odyssy debunks it as Pauline is in it and references the vents of Donkey Kong, thanking Mario again for saving her that day which wouldn't work if she were Pauline II
@@MrRuePine I agree with you that Cranky is the first DK (like I said, Kongs age weirdly quickly), but I don't think Pauline's dress shows that she has to be a different person? Toad's voice has changed, Daisy's hair has gotten shorter; the characters change over time. I think the line that really convinced me that Mario has to be Jumpman is a specific Super Mario Odyssey quote where Pauline says "Thanks for the chat. It's always nice to catch up with old friends." Why would she say this to someone who is either her son or her brother?

I have my own theory/headcanon about Mario & Luigi’s parents: They’re Jumpman & his love interest(I know this is a popular one so here’s my take on it). It’s been confirmed that the Donkey Kong in the 1981 game is actually a younger Cranky Kong. If that stands true, then it wouldn’t really line up with the continuity, would it? In the arcade game, Jumpman saves Lady(who is known as Pauline but I beg to differ, you’ll see later). After getting with Lady, Jumpman gets revenge on CK by locking him up, which leads Donkey Kong Jr. who would go on to be the Donkey Kong we know today. After DK saves CK, Jumpman is defeated & targeted for his cruelty towards CK, which extends onto Lady. By this point, Mario & Luigi have been born & their parents fear for their safety following what happened. The family flees wherever they lived, likely either Italy or NYC, & in the process send the Bros. away with the stork while they seek refuge. The couple ends up finding a warp pipe & settle in the Mushroom Kingdom. The stork tracks them down & meets them at their new home with their sons, after their adventures with Yoshi ofc, & the rest is history. What can tie into my theory is that the Pauline we know in the modern games is actually Mario & Luigi’s younger sister(I know it sounds super weird but hear me out). They’re depicted as friendly & get along well, showing no signs of suggestive chemistry, making the perfect setup for a sibling dynamic. I also consider Pauline their younger sister bc it would make more sense for her to be born following the chaotic circumstances during Mario & Luigi’s infancy. Also, Pauline getting kidnapped by the modern DK isn’t coincidental, but bc Mario & Pauline bear a resemblance to their parents, & DK holds a grudge against them & wants to spite them in any way he can to make CK proud. So that’s my theory folks, I didn’t realize that I made a whole backstory until I was done, lol. Still hope you like it!

I remember one part of my childhood, as a kid my family used to go to a BlockBuster to rent some movies and they always let my brother and I to choose one VHS to rent. Mario's father on the anime at 7:23 looks a lot like the character on the tray at 12:30, he's also using a pipe like the one in the comic does. While the depiction of the character has been inconsistent throughout these, I think I can get a good idea of who he is and what he looks like from the anime special, comic and tray. My idea is that he was probably a plumber like Mario, and wore overalls most of the time, although he sometimes just wore regular clothes when he had a day off, like a lot of plumbers, he also seem to have smoked.

i noticed that when he talks about the picture of a "father/grandfather figure?" on the mario tray and the "father" in the comic when mario was 1 in tall they both look the same
It's hilarious how all of mario's relatives in the super show were played by the same people and mario and luigi.
