@who likes spaghetti? It didn't turn the cells into viruses. It turned the cells into zombie hosts who allow more copies of the virus to grow and then throw it around.
It USUALLY only kills very vulnerable people. Young kids, Elderly and Immuno-compromised. It is still very serious though, and much like we are seeing now, getting the flu shots is less about protecting yourself, and more about making sure you dont spread it to others.
The flu shot worked wonders for me. I usually get sick around december to january, and fall sick at least once every 4 to 6 weeks, but then I got my first flu shot last year and I havent gotten sick so far. I have now sworn to get the flu shot as required.
A zero-point-one percent death rate might seem small, but then maths come along and say "well, what if five million people get this". Suddenly, the zero-point-one of five million seems to be a small-sized town, yeah?
And remember, getting your flu shot isn't just about preventing the flu. Like Dr. Mike said, the influenza virus is prone to mutations, so while the vaccine doesn't cover every single type of influenza, it can still aid your body in decreasing the severity of your symptoms and helping your body recover more quickly! Most importantly, it prevents the spread of the flu to far more vulnerable populations, such as children and the elderly!
Just seeing this anime makes me think that I have to take care of my body. Tiny cells are working hard for me, yet here I am, eating unhealthy foods and not exercising. I am overweight and suffered anxiety attacks. And also I despise my body for a long period of time and i suffered depression.

Cells at work is magnificent; I'm not 100% sure if the person who wrote it is also a medical professional but there's some incredibly specific stuff, I remember a very clear reference to a clinical case featured in Raff's/Levitzky's Medical Physiology: A systems approach. It also has its fair share of mistakes, but I feel like most are due to the difficulty to portray the cells and tissues as characters or rooms, walls, buildings, etc for the analogies; The author really did their research. Thank you very much for your reaction! I was also waiting for it. And please stay safe!
Please watch more cells at work! It's fun hearing your input on these episodes. I would recommend the cancer cell episodes, the Lactic Acid Bacterium episodes (which are the last 3-4 episodes in CAW S2) and just for a laugh, Cells At Work: Code Black episode 3.

"Theres half a million flu deaths all over the world"
Me, someone who has never taken a flu shot, and has always brushed off a flu: Wait what
It USUALLY only kills very vulnerable people.
Most people never had a flu. A cold, even though it has very similar symptoms, is NOT the flu. Not even a serious cold.
