Good day, Knox. I will suggest you to react Newjeans - Ditto (A & B) and OMG, i really enjoyed how you reacts and break the theory. These songs have so many riddle to challange you. Thanks before, i'm waiting. 😁
This song is a gift for his fans as he is about to enlist. The whole mv is about his background in dancing and as the biggest fan of JCole he gave the floor to him and let him do his thing on the roof while jhope dance underground like he used to. Listening to JCole’s songs. JCole is jhope’s muse! That is how much respect he has on JCole. Also FYI, Jcole’s bar about wanting more, jhope has rapped about putting out his fire (Arson) and wanting more (More). Also the whistling it is j-hope who created the melody and the one whistling.
I also love where, when JCole wonders if he should hand over the crown, he hands it donward and in the next scene, JHope seems to be reaching to grab it and put it on his own head. As though JCole is passing on the crown to JHope
I heard someone say they wanted a second verse from J Hope but then they realized he did give us a second verse…in his first language, dance. And he did it beautifully. Love it. 💜
That brought tears to my eyes. I think I’m up to 4652 times since the video dropped. I should really go replenish my electrolytes before I keep reading comment sections. #ARMYgoingThroughIt
"Just goes to show the respect that hiphop is now having for BTS." I deeply appreciate this, I see a lot of people reacting say kpop is going global bc bts collaborate w hip-hop artists etc, its not the whole kpop industry people! This is BTS. Thanks for the reaction once again Knox!
BTS is bigger than kpop at the point , they are just artists who happen to be korean , i wish ppl would be more open minded about them tbh. im a baby army and before I was an army i thought they were just pretty boy kpop artists , but something bad happened in my life and i randomly came across one of their songs and went down the rabbit hole , now i love them so much. their music really helped me get through a tough year and I’ll be going to Suga’s concert next month ! glad that my first concert ever will be his 😌❤️
"Hip Hop Lover" - BTS JHope's lyrics "Before I established Hope World, there was Cole World" JHope really looked up to J.cole since forever and I bet he's so happy to finally meet his inspiration, the trigger for his passion, and the epitome of his love for hiphop growing up.
To be very honest, after reading all the comments about j-hope’s upbringing as a dancer and artist, and being a big fan of Cole, this song almost makes me want to cry the more I listen to it. It’s such a beautiful song and they both killed it. As soon as I saw that alley, I questioned if it was the same as the one in Simba. Apparently, it is! And the way they meet up at the rooftop, mannnnn:’)
JHope said, The word “street” bears special meaning to me. It means “street dance” which is my roots as an artist. It’s where my inspirations come from and it symbolizes the path I’ve taken as j-hope. It’s also where I learn lessons of life. 🥰💜
Knox gets why this is a big moment for BTS. As a core member of the hip hop community here it means a lot that you just understand. Cole wouldn’t turn this around so quickly or give a verse like that for something that meant nothing. Hope people take his lead and realise BTS are legit and good at what they do!
Still emotional over this. We’ve got goat J. Cole high up on the roof and j-hope on the streets showing homage to everything that made him. In the end he rises up to meet J. Cole 🙌 Love it.
Aside from the usual bad bunch everyone’s been so cool about this! Shout out to Cole’s fans and ARMY. Lots of good vibes and respect all around. BTS have always put that respect on the OGs and the culture. Always been real and they’ve done it right time and time again. Let’s go!
You analysed this amazingly Knox!! I saw this in the hip hop community and have to share because this guy is spitting facts... "...the way they portray the mv and build the verses - it's almost like a hungry youngling asking for his one shot and a tired king aware he can't sit on the throne forever. J-Hope is still on the street/subway talking about what he's doing and still needs to accomplish while Cole stays solid on the top of the building, all alone and thinking about the path he's taken. AT the end they meet but as a fan giving his idol the flowers he deserves, not a rapper trying to steal the crown for himself."
Bro thanks for saying that at the end and about BTS getting this respect. Look I ain’t got nothing against K-pop but the global aspect is what it is because of BTS and that’s just facts. I wish people would separate the two so they can understand why someone like J. Cole would collab with a BTS member. Cus we know he doesn’t collab just for clout and he came with a hard verse too. Thing is numbers don’t lie at the end of the day about BTS. K-pop music only equates to 2% of the world music market and only 3 K-pop groups made it into the year end charts of those same markets. When BTS announced their enlistment it hugely affected the stocks of OTHER entertainment companies. They are integral to it all and it’s crazy to me that they can’t be seen as their own artist. Every one of those K-pop companies are trying to replicate the ‘next BTS’ but it’s not a formula or journey that can be copied. Well thankfully the artists they are collabing with can see their integrity and passion!
Man I’m back because I couldn’t go without giving a shout out to PDogg who produced this! He has been BTS’ main in-house producer since day 1. He’s extremely talented and cares deeply for the lads. Absolute legend 🔥
@@WiseOwl_so_1d_like_to_think Yes you’re right! My mistake it was PDogg that shared the video of Slow Rabbit. Glad that BTS have always had that support close to them🔥
When J-Hope says "J in the air" I think he's also referring to J. Cole and how he has always looked up to him. And in the MV J Cole is literally on top of a roof, in the air, if you will, with J-Hope making his way towards him. Starting from the streets and underground (dancing to J Cole's rap)to eventually going towards the same level as his muse leaving hope all around.
Yo thanks brother! He also pays homage to Cole’s Simba mv too by choosing the same location to open up on. He has so much respect for his idol. What a moment.
I think the "moon jumps over the cow' line is the most notable one for me because the original "cow jumps over the moon" is the origin of the phrase "over the moon." By flipping the words, you can guess that he is suggesting a more solemn nature. It can also mean the passing of time. The depth of his lyrics is amazing here.
We will miss J Hope. J Cole being there at the end of this chapter of his career when he was there right at the beginning for a boy called Jeong Hoseok, is a full circle moment worth its own Netflix series. Notice the “SIMBA” shot? Hobi free styling from the bottom, in the subways literally, meeting his idol ON TOP. His senior dishing wisdom as he too reflects on his own career as a rapper. 🥲
This is apparently the alley in Brooklyn that J-Cole was on in 2007 for one of his MVs. Every moment of J-Hope’s song is homage to both of their roots, journeys. He developed this track from random whistling a tune that he liked enough to get it down so he wouldn’t forget it. No coincidences, a very generous gift for us and a perfect set up for his hero who respected him enough to join in this masterpiece. Two worlds collide and gel.
I cried at J. Cole's verse. This song is amazing... Cole rapping about his passion for rap & music, Hobi showing his passion through freestyling/dance. All it took is one look at the MV and now everytime this song plays- I get the image of the two expressing their art. Just hearing J. Cole and imagining J-hope dancing is a magical listening experience. _What a gift Hobi leaves us with_ 🫂 But the meaning behind it is even more amazing. J-hope does freestyles on livestreams called "Hope On The Street" so yeah... lots of easter eggs spread throughout this MV & in their verses. In the MV Hobi is dancing underground while J. Cole raps in the rooftops, it's a callback to J-hope's young underground self freestyling to J. Cole's music. Hope World, Cole World, just like you said it ties them together- fate introducing J-hope to his would be inspiration for a lifetime, J. Cole 💕 Now we're here. It's crazy how life works. I'm so grateful for this collaboration more than anything, I'm so happy for them. Great reaction Knox!! 💜💜💜💜💜
This MV is so emotional. It contains so much meaning despite how simplistic the scenery is. I wish I could go back to 2013 and tell all of them that they would Collab with their idols. That they made it despite everything. 🥺🥺 They also reference whether they should bring an end to their career. In Arson JHope expresses that should he let it burn brighter or end in fire.
@@suga4tea-uk3my Also, being in the military might be the most normal experience they will ever have again, or at least for a very long time. They’re not idols, they’re equals, and virtually all men their age have gone through it. I imagine they will form some good friendships during their time and hopefully they can continue. In their celebrity life I’m sure it’s really hard making friends, not just because they’re pretty sequestered by their fame but when they do meet people they always have to wonder what their intentions are. Do you like me because I’m famous? Is it my public persona that you want or do you want to know ME? I’m sure it’s really hard to trust. In the military, though, I bet the interest in their celebrity wears off really quick when they’re in with the other soldiers and working along side them. As much as I wish they had been given a choice, I do think this will be good for them in a number of ways. And, of course, they’ll come back with a bunch more life experience to draw from for their future music.
Knox you beauty. What a breakdown brother thank you for this 🙏 I'm in my YT zen era so not guan go too deep but I saw someone write "this is a win for Kpop". Respectfully no. This is the result of J-Hope's grind, talent and constant homage paid to the main person who inspired him. The same goes with the rest of BTS and many other talented Korean artists who also get boxed. K-Pop as an industry refuses to acknowledge BTS' impact but constantly piggybacks on their success and walks through doors opened for them. This isn't one of those times.
Agreed. This is a beautiful moment that j-hope worked hard for. He purposely went to meet J. Cole when they were both headliners for Lolla (different day). He's unabashedly paid respect to his inspirations and idols. He's never afraid to reach for his dreams and it's so admirable. Kpop will try to piggy back off of j-hope, but it won't ever be as genuine as this collab. I've tried to listen to other K rappers and rappers in Kpop but no one is as good as j-hope Yoongi and Namjoon. So many kpop rappers don't understand cadence (they think that just saying words fast is rapping) and they don't write their own raps. j-hope is a stellar lyricist so much so that Korean professors consult other Korean professors to make sure that their translations are correct and include his masterful references and rhyming. He's THE ACE.
This colab makes PERFECT sense the more you think about it. They both dealt with a mountain of haters and industry obstacles, then slayed them one by one like Kill Bill. They both succeeded when no one was betting on them in the beginning, and they both stand up for what's right, like when Cole stood up to Diddy when he was being as a$$hole to Kendrick. If ANYONE knows how J-hope feels, it's this man right here. This colab is perfect. Plus Cole was born on a military base so that must resonate with him, knowing that's the life J-Hope is headed for in just a few weeks. Plus look at those stop signs! The message is clear: Neither Jcole OR Hobi ain't going anywhere. He's just gotta do what he's gotta do and he's gonna be back. This song is a promise from the both of them. I 💯 could cry right now. It's beautiful.
Congratulations on 900K. Loved this reaction. I’m a huge J. Cole fan & of course, thanks to you… I’m Army 😂. Feels like JHope like Jin videos before enlisting both show them giving “flowers” to young kids like it’s representing Army growing up for last 10 years with the guys. Seeing JCole with JHope is epic
This song is amazing!! Such a good collaboration. On the whistle; “the song began with me whistling as I often whistle the melodies of the songs I listen to. I was home dwelling on what kind of music to make and I just randomly blew a whistle and that just became the melody for “on the street (with J. Cole).” I instantly liked it, recorded it.” - Jhope said in Variety
TBH I was not expecting this collab, but it was nice as hell. Hope came in with symbolism and Cole being more MC with the poetry. They have some nice chemistry as well. I'm realy happy stuff like this can happen. This just makes me wish one day hip hop from all across the world with every language crosses over. Realy cool vid Knox, love the tracks and the yt. Ur amzing.
i have always appreciated your reactions. not only do you listen to the music and decipher the meaning, but you also try to understand the story that’s being told visually. you're respectful and always listen with an open mind. I feel safe here in your community. Thank you for always being kind.
Subbed because I appreciate that you have clearly given time to get to know BTS and of course you know J. Cole. This song is clearly meant for a specific group of people. Both artists are saying goodbyes in two different ways, some of it perhaps more metaphorically but it’s still personal and without context of why they’ve come together or the reasoning for their lyrics then this isn’t going to hit hard for some. But it’s not about making a viral hit. It’s two artists coming together with love for something that means something to them. Simple.
You're the best Knox! I could listen to you analyse music alllll day (I kind of do some days haha). This little story from J-Hope is so nice...he said that they swapped numbers and have been chatting but he apologised to J.Cole that he can't speak English very well as he has so much he wants to say to him. J.Cole told him not to apologise because he speaks more English than he can Korean and I think that's such a testament to him as a person. I've hoped for this day for so many years
j.cole verse resonates well with J-Hope's MORE &:ARSON lyrics, that "i want some more" also the "should I put out the fire or burn even brighter" Mad respect to jhope for giving the floor to his idol and him dancing to his idol verse is a nostalgic moment for jhope. Just a perfect and wholesome collaboration 💯💜
A part of me believed this day could come but I was still just as surprised as you Knox 😂 Think I’m still in the shock stage! Can’t explain how happy I am for him and how dope it is that this actually exists. J. Cole is insane and I love how much this works 🔥🔥
Hello! ARMY appreciate your reaction. It was a beautiful break down of the MV. Your always so open minded & respectful. Remember love yourself & speak yourself! 💜
Let me start by saying WOW, this songs is a beautiful momentarily goodbye for army's and non army's from JHope. Knox not only do I learn about music with you but the dissection's of a song lyrics, first time hearing about J Cole after doing some research I completely understand the influence he's got in JHope. Thank you for what you do so well :)
Cole’s verse has a lot of parallels to what J-Hope says in his songs More and Arson too! That’s so cool. Feel the mutual respect in this and the personal feels. “It’s my call” at the end on the billboard too.
Mannn been excited to hear your breakdown! Last few days have been surreal but yes you’re right, as ARMY this makes so much sense! So much homage paid by J-hope/BTS to J. Cole over the years. Had this song on nonstop!
Appreciate you Knox. Thanks for your detailed analysis and comments on all aspects of the music, artistry and production. J. Cole is forever a legend and I'm glad to see BTS getting their long overdue flowers too. It's really wild that because of just a few factors that they have been so severely pidgeon-holed when anyone who is a fan knows what they're really about. I love everything about this!
Omg I'm a mess!! I'm so so proud of hobi that he got ta do this track with J Cole. He's looked up to him forever, and incorporating hope on the street paying homage to his upbringing with dance 💜💜 I always say that Hoseok raps like he dances, you can just tell how naturally music comes ta him. His musicality is awesome. Ugh I'm overwhelmed lol. This makes me so happy n sad at the same fricking time.
The kid in the beginning represents young j-hope..he dressed similar to j cole show how much he idolize him.. the kid is wearing Air Jordan 11s. They're the same pair as Hobi owns now. Air Jordans are also known as J's so "J in the Air" is a play on the shoes Air Jordan's (J's) are significant bc j.cole mentions the shoes in his song "higher." He goes through the my walking on his path. It shows him as a kid that was inspired by j.cole to him working hard throughout his youth practicing his love of street dance, to eventually climbing up from the bottom to finally reach his destination at the top where he meets and shakes the hand of the man who inspired him from the start The way He puts j.cole up high on the roof, and him on the streets and underground in the subway. showing homage to everything that made him, then finally to the rooftop coming full circle with J-Hope meeting his idol he was inspired by and ending the video the way it started just showing love.. it's a great collab.. really enjoyed seeing the barriers being broken and the 2 world collide Cole world and Hope world!
Knox sorry for another comment but something I meant to add previously was to give this one a listen outside of the reaction. It hits a bit different just watching it with the knowledge of these two and what it means separately for both. Just somehow the gentleness of this hits a bit harder when you're watching not for the expectations of others. Lots of reactors don't quite get it. Always grateful that you really do.
Got shivers again when the last hook came up after hearing J. Cole contemplate handing over his crown & concluding not yet To hear them then sing, “Every time I walk. Every time I run. Every time I move, it’s always for us” Amazing.
People are talking about how J-Hope started in the streets (in the video but also in his career) looking up toward J. Cole and that it ends with them both at the top.
Your reviews are 🔥 Love how you point out musical instrument flow changes I would ordinarily miss. Tbh never heard of JCole - the tremendous respect other artists have shown leads me to believe I been missing out
I was checking your channel constantly cuz I couldn’t wait for your reaction and as always you are the best reactor in the game! Thank you for always treating BTS with so much respect. Like you put it so well this comes full circle and now that someone of the caliber of J Cole went on a track with Hobi there is no denying that they getting the respect that they deserve.
This is a beautiful moment that j-hope worked hard for. He purposely went to meet J. Cole when they were both headliners for Lolla (different days). He's unabashedly paid respect to his inspirations and idols. He's not afraid to reach for his dreams which is so admirable.
I originally became obsessed with your videos when you reviewed and broke down all of Hamilton and I’ve been a fan ever since. But let me just tell you ARMY literally loves you and how you breakdown bts or any bts related songs. I was watching a completely different video and they were all telling people to go to your channel because how good your videos are and I couldn’t agree more.
Ah think my comment might have got flagged but I’ll add a new one for the algo 😂 This is definitely a ‘pinch myself’ moment. I think some respect has always been there from others but maybe not as in our faces as nowadays. Just thinking of the calibre of artists they’ve worked with over the years like Juice WRLD, Wale, Coldplay, Krizz Kaliko, Warren G to name a few, they have been quietly grinding and paying homage. J. Cole has said multiple times money can’t buy his verses (side-eyeing below) so I think this is a mutual respect one. I’m so happy to see it!
Knox... you got 900k (well-deserved followeres) and put out hella content. I know you won't see this... but I just gotta say your knowledge, love and respect for the hip-hop game is undeniably top notch. Ren brought me to your channel, but the way you break down bars, cadences, lyrics, etc. has kept me here and I'm here to stay. Thank you for your content my guy. Seriously.
I believe the genre your referencing is boom bap. I love how it's making a comeback and appreciated more with artists. It's a lost genre that was the epic era when hiphop was it's finest in the 80s and 90s. Love J Hope's taste and appreciation for real hip hop👏🏽🫶🫶🙌🏽💯
Knox i’ve been waiting for this! Once again you’ve nailed it. I’m very happy that Hobi gets to do this with his muse J Cole. He has always looked up to him and for this to happen must mean the world to him.
Bruh I love this track 10/10 but the best part for me is the harmonies of both J-hope and J.Cole. Jermain been killing the vocals lately this man really mastering his craft🔥🔥🔥
Plus they did meet up when J-Hope was at Lollapalooza in Chicago last year. This song is growing on me; I didn't really enjoy it that much the first listen to or so, but this time and the last time, it brought tears to my eyes. J-Cole may keep getting stronger, but J-Hope will also (despite his mandatory military service). Thanks for another great reaction.
I appreciate your reactions immensely. You always add a analyses of the MV if there is one, you know it’s important and you’re good at catching symbolism and storytelling. Also you actually analyse the lyrics. J-Hope met J Cole backstage at Lollapalooza this Summer when he was performing. He was so happy he could finally tell him the he inspired him so much. Its in the dysney+ j hope in the box documentary. One of BTS early songs references their hip hop influences Hip Hop Phile. Only lyrics vid but an awesome song. There is so much respect in this collab. For each other and for their fans.
I've been waiting for this! Great reaction/breakdown, as always. On the same day On the street is released, Dreamville also released Creed 3 soundtracks which include "Adonis interlude" where Cole also hinted his possible retirement; The Fall-off Era
I love it. J Cole has been a muse for J-Hope from way before BTS. He used to freestyle and dance battle to J Cole's rap. I think this collab was destined to happen eventually. J-Hope puts J.Cole up high on the roof (at the top), and him on the streets and underground in the subway paying homage to his street and underground roots (often freestyling and battling to J Cole's rap), and in the end, rises up to meet J.Cole (at the top) on the roof. Genius! J Cole is also giving a nod to the next up-and-coming rap generation. Interesting that he's done that with a South Korean rapper instead of a Western one.
J cole is hobi's idol he looks up to him and having him in this beautiful song a good bye for now to armies says alot thanks knox for the amazing breakdown 💜
jhope, through this mv, showed his journey from "on the street" to meeting and collaborating with his idol. and giving us, the army, all credits for it.
Been wanting for your reaction since on the street is released, love your reactions and always learn something new from you. Thank you so much and yeah I still can’t get over the excitement from this collaboration, what a gift from jhope before his enlistment, so much love for ARMY ❤
Yeah well man gotta show our love to you too. You’ve always been fair and open-minded aswell as respectful. We’ve never had an issue with criticism of BTS as long as it’s coming from a professional musical standpoint and you always have been like that. It’s when reactors blatantly diss them because they don’t understand them or know anything about their history. Just wanted to say love ya Knox and this breakdown was so informative. You pointed out so much that I’d missed. Cole went hard on this 🐐
Yes! Did you saw the billboard sign saying “It’s my call “ the little boy symbolize the army and waving bye 🥹 JHope x Jcole amazing collab 🔥🔥🔥you just did an amazing review! Love it!
Love love love this song with J hope & J Cole & your insights helped me to see & understand the bigger story, the bigger gift of love that the song IS. I’ll be subscribing to you friend & YOUR talent.
I always make sure you are my third or fourth reactor because I know you will catch something in the bars or cadence or be or style that I didn’t think of more from that perspective. I love the long breakdowns and you always catch the hidden bars keep going bro.
LOVE THIS! Always love your reactions. You sharp mind. Your ability to pick up on things right on the spot. And I must say, since I've come across your reactions, you've added greatly to my knowledge and understanding of rap, hip hop, flows, lyrics, music and I've gotten a way bigger appreciation but also love that keeps on growing. So thank you. Thank you for understanding and appreciating the beauty where beauty is - no matter the package.
Btw. BTS has a beautiful song called Butterfly. Actually one of my favorites. And oldie but goldie. If you ever have the time I'd love to see your reaction to it. I wonder if Hobi used Butterfly to make us think of BTS (and the BU), but with a new meaning.
BTS did "Born Singer" from J.Cole's "Born Sinner." This is some they have respected for a long time. Hobi's see you for now with love to ARMY. This is an amazing Collab. He is my sunshine in my heart always. ♾️💜❤️💜💕
[Chorus: j-hope] Every time I walk Every time I run Every time I move As always, for us Every time I look Every time I love Every time I hope As always, for us (On the street, I'm still) [Verse 1: j-hope] My two feet walk willingly, anywhere J in the air For the path I’m on to become one of hope, I give my all Even my walk was made of Your love and your faith To repay you even from afar, just like a butterfly Now just walk lightly, whenever you want Go on hopefully, wherever you walk In these streets imbued with someone’s breath I leave my soul and my eternity Everywhere (I’ll be) [Chorus: j-hope] Every time I walk Every time I run Every time I move As always, for us Every time I look Every time I love Every time I hope As always, for us (On the street, I'm still) [Verse 2: J. Cole] Yeah All hail the mighty survivor of hell Plopped down from heaven to sell Holy water that I scooped from the well Fought tooth and a nail Just to prevail amongst the ruthless as I move through the field Feelin' worried in a hurry like a two-minute drill To make a couple mil' off a lucrative deal Selling train of thought, name a artist who could derail You'll never see it like a nigga hula-hoopin' in jail I got a friend smart as fuck, but he stupid as hell He swear that God ain't real Since it ain't no way to prove it his self As if the universe ain't enough As if the volcanoes ain't erupt As if the birds don't chirp As if a trillion nerves don't work in the human body Shit, who would I be? Without the creator of this theater beside me to gently guide me? Some days, I wonder if I need to pick a different hobby I'm deep in with this rappin', it's all a nigga know I never didn't nothin' better, it's hard to let it go But like a father watching his daughter Walk down the altar with tears in his eyes You gotta let her grow And so I shall, but first, I been honing my style Coldest around, with more quotables than what the quota allows You see a top ten list, I see a Golden Corral, nigga As the moon jumps over the cow I contemplate if I should wait to hand over the crown And stick around for a bit longer, I got a strange type of hunger The more I eat, the more it gets stronger The more it gets stronger I said the more it gets stronger j-hope, Cole World [Chorus: j-hope] Every time I walk (Every time I walk, yeah) Every time I run (Every time I run on you) Every time I move (Every time I move) As always, for us (As always, for us) Every time I look, (Every time I look) Every time I love (Every time I love) Every time I hope As always, for us (On the street, I'm still) Every time I walk Every time I run Every time I move As always, for us Every time I look Every time I love Every time I hope As always, for us (On the street, I'm still)
J Hope realizing his dream to sing with J Cole and we are so happy for him and for ourselves because this Collab was Amazing. J Hope always intelligent and humble. Love it...

Bibi vengeance by bibi !
Also the whistling it is j-hope who created the melody and the one whistling.
yes in arson he raps about his choice to keep burning and burn brighter or to put out his fire
I also love where, when JCole wonders if he should hand over the crown, he hands it donward and in the next scene, JHope seems to be reaching to grab it and put it on his own head. As though JCole is passing on the crown to JHope
This sums it up beautifully.
G DRAGON THE KING
I heard someone say they wanted a second verse from J Hope but then they realized he did give us a second verse…in his first language, dance. And he did it beautifully. Love it. 💜
what a lovely sentiment 😭
Ah. Dance. As his second verse. Why didn’t I think of that. Thank you.
Yess :))))
That brought tears to my eyes. I think I’m up to 4652 times since the video dropped. I should really go replenish my electrolytes before I keep reading comment sections. #ARMYgoingThroughIt
💜💜💜 thank you for this comment, I never would have thought of it that way myself, that’s beautiful
"Just goes to show the respect that hiphop is now having for BTS."
I deeply appreciate this, I see a lot of people reacting say kpop is going global bc bts collaborate w hip-hop artists etc, its not the whole kpop industry people! This is BTS. Thanks for the reaction once again Knox!
BTS is bigger than kpop at the point , they are just artists who happen to be korean , i wish ppl would be more open minded about them tbh. im a baby army and before I was an army i thought they were just pretty boy kpop artists , but something bad happened in my life and i randomly came across one of their songs and went down the rabbit hole , now i love them so much. their music really helped me get through a tough year and I’ll be going to Suga’s concert next month ! glad that my first concert ever will be his 😌❤️
@- yūgen I'm glad they were able to be there for you during hard times! They were for me too. Congratulations on getting to see yoongi in concert! 💜
"Hip Hop Lover" - BTS JHope's lyrics
"Before I established Hope World, there was Cole World"
JHope really looked up to J.cole since forever and I bet he's so happy to finally meet his inspiration, the trigger for his passion, and the epitome of his love for hiphop growing up.
You're soo right!!!
In the alley, there's the street memorial which most people interpreted it to be a reference to the Halloween Itaewon tragedy that happened in 2022. 😢
Hope people take his lead and realise BTS are legit and good at what they do!
nods
Found Hope in a Cole world. This is one hell of a meaningful song for many.
Still emotional over this. We’ve got goat J. Cole high up on the roof and j-hope on the streets showing homage to everything that made him. In the end he rises up to meet J. Cole 🙌 Love it.
You are so right. I didn’t catch that💜
Aside from the usual bad bunch everyone’s been so cool about this! Shout out to Cole’s fans and ARMY. Lots of good vibes and respect all around. BTS have always put that respect on the OGs and the culture. Always been real and they’ve done it right time and time again. Let’s go!
🔥
J Cole does the unthinkable once again. His talent speaks for itself. You can’t deny it he’s one of the best to touch the mic. 💯❤️
Man I’m back because I couldn’t go without giving a shout out to PDogg who produced this! He has been BTS’ main in-house producer since day 1. He’s extremely talented and cares deeply for the lads. Absolute legend 🔥
Wasn’t it Slow Rabbit who cried? But you’re right, PDogg is such a brilliant musician. He gets Hiphop!
🥲
The fact that the MV is a clear representation of Hobi being on the streets and looking up to J.Cole and then at the end he joins him at the top 🤌💜
_What a gift Hobi leaves us with_ 🫂
But the meaning behind it is even more amazing.
They also reference whether they should bring an end to their career. In Arson JHope expresses that should he let it burn brighter or end in fire.
It weird to say this, but I glad they have military service. Give them a chance to reflect & gain perspective.
@@suga4tea-uk3my they are definitely growing and feel comfortable enough to share their vulnerable feelings and art.
Exactly, this is beyond kpop and has nothing to do with it. It's just jhope and BTS' hard work. They have always been far beyond kpop
I've hoped for this day for so many years
j.cole verse resonates well with J-Hope's MORE &:ARSON lyrics, that "i want some more" also the "should I put out the fire or burn even brighter"
Mad respect to jhope for giving the floor to his idol and him dancing to his idol verse is a nostalgic moment for jhope.
Are we not going to talk about j-hope coming out of the J station in New York to meet J. Cole?
As an AMRY, it just makes me proud to see my idol work with another idol 👌
I love Cole man been a fan of his since 2009 and seeing him just keep getting better is amazing.
You’re reactions are so informative. You have helped me to have a much greater appreciation of music in general and rap in particular. Thank you!
Cole’s verse has a lot of parallels to what J-Hope says in his songs More and Arson too! That’s so cool. Feel the mutual respect in this and the personal feels. “It’s my call” at the end on the billboard too.
The fact that J-hope took it back to the roots.. NYC - Brooklyn, Queens and South Bronx where Hip Hop and Breakdancing all started. Dope!
Knox, I don't think you understand how much I loved this song/collab😭... It was so good
Love this so much man ❤❤
Mannn been excited to hear your breakdown!
Air Jordans are also known as J's so "J in the Air" is a play on the shoes
Air Jordan's (J's) are significant bc j.cole mentions the shoes in his song "higher."
He goes through the my walking on his path. It shows him as a kid that was inspired by j.cole to him working hard throughout his youth practicing his love of street dance, to eventually climbing up from the bottom to finally reach his destination at the top where he meets and shakes the hand of the man who inspired him from the start
The way He puts j.cole up high on the roof, and him on the streets and underground in the subway. showing homage to
everything that made him, then finally to the rooftop coming full circle with J-Hope meeting his
idol he was inspired by and ending the video the way it started just showing love.. it's a great collab.. really enjoyed seeing the barriers being broken and the 2 world collide
Cole world and Hope world!
Also in Lollapalooza he said we can call him J
The mv*
This has so much symbolism for J-Hope to work with someone who inspired him so much. This is so special before he goes to the military 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
J Hope has always been a huge fan of Cole.
Theres a vid where they meet and Hope is fanboying like crazy. He grew up on FNL.
Cole contemplate handing over his crown & concluding not yet
To hear them then sing, “Every time I walk. Every time I run. Every time I move, it’s always for us” Amazing.
People are talking about how J-Hope started in the streets (in the video but also in his career) looking up toward J. Cole and that it ends with them both at the top.
You have always given them respect
Your reviews are 🔥
Love how you point out musical instrument flow changes I would ordinarily miss.
Tbh never heard of JCole - the tremendous respect other artists have shown leads me to believe I been missing out
fvkin enjoyed that a ton. epic musical content. Heard this song a couple days ago and I fell in love
You are such a sharp, articulate, insightful observer. Thank you!!
Please be sure to tune in to jhope's new EP Hope On The Street, coming this Friday March 29! I look forward to hearing your thoughts!! 🤩
I love that you understand the message.
This song make me smile and cry at the same time. I love it 🥹♥️
Knox... you got 900k (well-deserved followeres) and put out hella content. Seriously.
Thank you for all your insights! You hear so much more than I do in the music. Thanks for bringing it all to my attention! 💜
I always wait for your reactions💜
Bruh I love this track 10/10 but the best part for me is the harmonies of both J-hope and J.Cole. Jermain been killing the vocals lately this man really mastering his craft🔥🔥🔥
Been waiting for reaction for this . As i big fan of J cole this colabs is freaking fire 🔥 j cole & j hope . It always for us ❤
Plus they did meet up when J-Hope was at Lollapalooza in Chicago last year.
I hope one of BTS member will collaborate with Knox..i wonder what kind of magic they will make..hahaha
Knox, you always gives very thoughtful and intelligent reaction to BTS songs. Really appreciate a clever mind.
J cole is hobi's idol he looks up to him and having him in this beautiful song a good bye for now to armies says alot thanks knox for the amazing breakdown 💜
Gotta learn this dance &this whistle❤❤❤❤❤❤
Your reactions are 🔝🔝🔝
Thank you for reacting and breaking this down
jhope, through this mv, showed his journey from "on the street" to meeting and collaborating with his idol. and giving us, the army, all credits for it.
j cole is better than 99,9% of all rappers worldwide. His multisyllables and lyrics is topnotch.
Gracias por tu maravillosa reaccion y entendiste todo el mensaje de la canción
In the beginning is the same spot where jcole did his video when he first came out
Been wanting for your reaction since on the street is released, love your reactions and always learn something new from you.
Cole went hard on this 🐐
First thing came to my mind for reacts was this channel. Always appreciated your input and breakdowns on this video! Thanks Knox Hill!
Yes! Did you saw the billboard sign saying “It’s my call “ the little boy symbolize the army and waving bye 🥹 JHope x Jcole amazing collab 🔥🔥🔥you just did an amazing review! Love it!
I love this song. Great reaction
Love love love this song with J hope & J Cole & your insights helped me to see & understand the bigger story, the bigger gift of love that the song IS. I’ll be subscribing to you friend & YOUR talent.
11:08 Bar
14:30 respect
Double J collab of the year 🔥💜This song and this MV is amazing I'm so proud of him for collaborating with his Idol ♥️
Hope world 💜Cole world
I always make sure you are my third or fourth reactor because I know you will catch something in the bars or cadence or be or style that I didn’t think of more from that perspective.
This is beautiful. ❤
The 80s - 90s vibes in this MV suit well with J Hope Avirex Jacket. But J Cole (You see a top ten list, I see a golden corral) bars so 🔥🔥🔥
BTS did "Born Singer" from J.Cole's "Born Sinner." This is some they have respected for a long time. Hobi's see you for now with love to ARMY. This is an amazing Collab. He is my sunshine in my heart always. ♾️💜❤️💜💕
I love your reactions, man. you immediately pick up on symbolism and double meanings that would take me many, many listens to notice.
[Chorus: j-hope]
Every time I walk
Every time I run
Every time I move
As always, for us
Every time I look
Every time I love
Every time I hope
As always, for us (On the street, I'm still)
[Verse 1: j-hope]
My two feet walk willingly, anywhere
J in the air
For the path I’m on to become one of hope, I give my all
Even my walk was made of
Your love and your faith
To repay you even from afar, just like a butterfly
Now just walk lightly, whenever you want
Go on hopefully, wherever you walk
In these streets imbued with someone’s breath
I leave my soul and my eternity
Everywhere (I’ll be)
[Chorus: j-hope]
Every time I walk
Every time I run
Every time I move
As always, for us
Every time I look
Every time I love
Every time I hope
As always, for us (On the street, I'm still)
[Verse 2: J. Cole]
Yeah
All hail the mighty survivor of hell
Plopped down from heaven to sell
Holy water that I scooped from the well
Fought tooth and a nail
Just to prevail amongst the ruthless as I move through the field
Feelin' worried in a hurry like a two-minute drill
To make a couple mil' off a lucrative deal
Selling train of thought, name a artist who could derail
You'll never see it like a nigga hula-hoopin' in jail
I got a friend smart as fuck, but he stupid as hell
He swear that God ain't real
Since it ain't no way to prove it his self
As if the universe ain't enough
As if the volcanoes ain't erupt
As if the birds don't chirp
As if a trillion nerves don't work in the human body
Shit, who would I be?
Without the creator of this theater beside me to gently guide me?
Some days, I wonder if I need to pick a different hobby
I'm deep in with this rappin', it's all a nigga know
I never didn't nothin' better, it's hard to let it go
But like a father watching his daughter
Walk down the altar with tears in his eyes
You gotta let her grow
And so I shall, but first, I been honing my style
Coldest around, with more quotables than what the quota allows
You see a top ten list, I see a Golden Corral, nigga
As the moon jumps over the cow
I contemplate if I should wait to hand over the crown
And stick around for a bit longer, I got a strange type of hunger
The more I eat, the more it gets stronger
The more it gets stronger
I said the more it gets stronger
j-hope, Cole World
[Chorus: j-hope]
Every time I walk (Every time I walk, yeah)
Every time I run (Every time I run on you)
Every time I move (Every time I move)
As always, for us (As always, for us)
Every time I look, (Every time I look)
Every time I love (Every time I love)
Every time I hope
As always, for us (On the street, I'm still)
Every time I walk
Every time I run
Every time I move
As always, for us
Every time I look
Every time I love
Every time I hope
As always, for us (On the street, I'm still)
J Hope realizing his dream to sing with J Cole and we are so happy for him and for ourselves because this Collab was Amazing. J Hope always intelligent and humble. Love it...
Knox Never disappoints🔥🔥🔥 thanks for the Hoodie and Cap Bro
