Great reaction. You really put a smile on my face. JHope has been inspired by J Cole since he was a kid, a street dancer in Korea, before he even signed as a member of BTS and learned to rap. 🌟 J-Hope (of BTS) is releasing his new album “Hope on the Street” on March 29th 2024 featuring his new single NEURON and a Jungkook feature. - V (Taehyung of BTS) is releasing his new song “FRI(END)S” on March 15th 2024. 🌟
J-Hope is a hip-hop and k-pop artist coexistent of each other. It’s interesting seeing other J.Cole fans perceive Jhope as playing into hiphop or ‘wearing’ it with the Avirex jacket etc.. People comment on the clothes he wears, the jacket and the style - but don't seek to ask the question 'why' he is so surprisingly in-tune with this culture. The answer is only known to those who know his story. BTS were personally mentored by Coolio, Tony Jones and Warren G before their debut and they spent time in America training and understanding the roots of the genre. Kpop as a whole is a misunderstood genre- it’s a culmination of many genres which result in Popular Korean music (K-Pop.) It does not come with a distinct style - but it’s brutally misinformed from the West because of the attention heuristic of Kpop groups, ‘gangnam style,’ and Hallyu wave. A clear example? This song itself does not sound like k-pop and yet that is the genre it is listed under on Apple Music, Spotify and Billboard. Yes J.Cole featured on a k-pop song. J.Cole fans, this wasn't just for you ,and we urge you to delve into the other side - the enriching music and stories told by J-hope and BTS. J-Hope is leaving in a few months for his mandatory Military service as South Korea is still in tensions with North Korea - every man by the age of 30 has to enlist and serve at least once. He will be saying goodbye to the fans for a while, and what he knows his career as J-Hope and BTS to be right now. This is one of the rare moments he gets allocated time to function as a solo artist and console his personal journey - he chose to conclude this era with his idol. In which he is seen dancing underground and on the street to J.Cole's rapping (where he started at 10 years old) but he still meets him at the top.
Enjoyed your reaction! Thank you for appreciating JHope as well. JCole was someone he looked up to. They finally met last year at Lollapalooza where JHope headlined as well. Love to JHopr and JCole 💜
I came here because I saw your reaction to Ugh and Arson. I'm really glad you've given j-hope and BTS a chance. If you think On the Street is amazing, wait till you dig a little deeper beneath the layers. I can't write an essay (well I could, but I won't), but here are my TLDR highlights: 1. J.Cole has always been j-hope's idol, and BTS wrote their cover to Born Sinner called Born Singer just 20 days after they debuted in 2013. On the Street continues the narrative of Born Singer, which then echoes Born Sinner. How? J.Cole talks about the metamorphic journey he and j-hope have gone through heaven and hell to get to where they are in music, it calls back to Born Sinner's verse of how music is a gift and how her personification screams 'don't let me slip', and he replies ' don't lose me the more I change', Born Singer takes that further in j-hope's verse where he pleads not to lose himself or his original intention. 2. J.Cole asks in Born Singer 'where is the tutor for me?' and he answers in On the Street that it's been there all along 'as the creator of this theatre' who gently guides him. I particularly love the spiritual motif of J.Cole's rap, which is something he does often, and what makes this collab especially poignant is that he did so in Born Sinner 'but God help us make it cos this music biz is a cliff', which in turn inspired Born Singer 'so we go we go we go, higher higher higher' and comes full circle for both in On the Street 'He swear that God ain't real, since it ain't no way to prove it to his self, as if the universe ain't enough, as if the volcanoes ain't erupt'. Shout out to J.Cole for using some BTS/ARMY key words - proof and universe, because they are so meaningful to us. 3. In On the Street J.Cole references music again, likening 'her' to his daughter but now being able to let her go in order for her to grow, but first to hone his style before passing on the crown - this is so profound because he's dug deep into his own journey in music, but also echoing all the sentiments of what BTS have gone through, and are going through right now, with their individual creative projects, the enlistment, their years of fatigue, but also now their renewed hunger for music ' I got a strange kind of hunger, the more I eat, the more it gets stronger' which calls back to j-hope's other song 'More' from his 2022 solo project 'Jack in the Box' - 'Now I ask myself, choose what, do i put out the fire, or make it flare up even stronger' and from 'Arson' - 'too much is as bad as too little, to know to quit while being ahead, that's the style'. 4. There's plenty of emotional resonance in this song, which alludes to the past, present and future for j-hope. I especially love the reference to Butterfly - a BTS song in which they expressed their fear of being forgotten 'like a wind that gently strokes me, like a dust that gently drifts along, you're there but for some reason, I cant reach you' to 'to repay you even from afar, now just walk lightly, whenever you walk, Go on hopefully, wherever you walk, In these streets imbued with someones breath, I leave my soul and my eternity, everywhere (I’ll be)' in On the Street, where he expresses his security in ARMY's presence and offers his own presence even if he's leaving us for a while (military enlistment). On this note, in j-hope’s other song ‘More’ he ends with ‘I’m still (not enough)’ - a claim that there’s more to conquer but also perhaps insecurity, whereas in On the Street, he ends with ‘On the street (I’m still)’ which is open-ended and hopeful. A bold confirmation that he is still the very SAME j-hope from the beginning, that he has never lost his original intention (Born Singer). 5. There are layers upon layers, not just in the lyricism, but also the music video. This MV starts off the in the alley where 'Simba' left off from J.Cole's debut mixtape The Come Up. j-hope pays homage to J.Cole by starting the MV in the same way but then climbs the stairs to reach him at the top - literally 'J in the air'. The kid that is with j-hope in the beginning of the MV is also dressed almost exactly like J.Cole, and represents that youthful dream of j-hope wanting to be like J.Cole. It's a meaningful gift that we've been given, whether you love hip hop, J.Cole or j-hope. Good music and true artistry prevails and the truth will make itself known. On the Street is a wonderful present and tender farewell to ARMY: 'as the moon jumps over the cow' - a beautiful reference to the childhood story Goodnight Moon, but it is also a culmination of an adolescent dream to stand shoulder to shoulder with one of the greats. I hope you can open your mind to the love for music and respect of the craft that BTS live and breath. P/S You need to listen to rapline's Ddaeng.
Just wanted to say that I love the body language in that handshake at the end. You can seen JHope giving JCole the respect with lowered head and even a little courtly bow to the king with his back leg bent and front leg straightened. That ending scene was a great one for such an awesome song.
It is amazing that og hip hop fans like J.Cole fans are discovering J-Hope and BTS through this song. I enjoyed watching you squeal over your favorite artist
Jhope is distinguished by being far from K-pop and a lover of old school hip-hop, as he is descended from the street dance culture and the ancient original art of hip-hop. J-hope is one of the few distinguished people in Korea, and this is what made me obsessed with his songs, their strong rhythms, their lyrics, and so his last album jack in the box is such a masterpiece And this song OMG THEY BOTH ARE AMAZING 🤯❤️🔥 The fact that Jhope gave a lot of lines to Cole shows the extent of his respect and love for him because he is actually his inspiration. Jhope has an mixtape ( Hope world) based on cole world .
it’s so heartwarming to see J-Hope meeting his inspiration, walk and dance the streets of NY where his love for Hip-Hop originated. Success feels great. Yeah well I’m crying now, great ass song.
Full circle moment for Hobi! We're all so proud of him! Who would've thought a young street dancer living all the way in South Korea would pursue music from being inspired by Cole. Hobi and the rest of BTS really fought against the odds to be able to crossover. Even to this day, people have their prejudices against them for being a 'boyband'. They were never really accepted because they weren't considered hiphop enough and 'too ugly' to be idols (according to korean industry standards). So i'm really happy that Hobi succeeded as a fan and is able to collaborate with one of his idols! Thanks for your welcoming reaction! It was so wholesome!! 😊
Thanks for the shout out to J-hope! I appreciate your honesty saying that you had no idea who j-hope was and for keeping an open mind! J-hope has been inspired by J.Cole for years and he was so happy to meet him last year at Lollapalooza! Collaborating on a song with J. Cole is a dream come true for him! I'm sure that you will see many suggestions for J-hope songs you could react to if you are curious to find out more about him.💜
GameBoyy 310, You know you have one of the highest view counts for this collab? It's cause this is the most fire reaction. Your expressions at the beginning were priceless. And you didn't need to know that J-Hope was famous to be respectful. You're a keeper fr
Your reaction, I love it!!!!! Since you love Hip Hop, here is some facts for you. It's shot in Cortlandt Alley NYC, where Cole shot Simba. j-hope comes out of the Bowery station the famous JZ line. He then walks to where JCole is in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Right near the statue of Biggie. And you are one of the only reactors to understand the handshake. This whole video is a love letter to Hip Hop and JCole. The little kid in the beginning is dressed like the adult version Jermaine. And the fact that Cole is in the air and j-hope is on the ground on his way to Cole, brilliant. This video gives me so much hope for music. Shouting you out from the big city of dreams 😘💜🧡🫰🏻

J-Hope is a member of the Korean group BTS. He is 1 of 3 rappers. They have 4 vocals. They all dance but J-Hope was a street dancer and is the lead dancer of BTS. Please react to these BTS songs. If you didn't notice, Hobi is referring to J.Cole's mv SIMBA from his 2007 debut mixtape THE COME UP at the beginning of ON THE STREET. It's so beautiful bcs Hobi starts the mv the same way paying homage to his idol then climbs the stairs until reaching him at the same floor

Please be sure to tune in to jhope's new EP Hope On The Street, coming this Friday March 29! I look forward to hearing your thoughts!!
JCole
was someone he looked up to. They finally met last year at Lollapalooza where JHope headlined as well. Love to JHopr and JCole 💜
Thanx for tappin in. I genuinely enjoy this record 🔥🔥
this reaction is so genuine & wholesome. he really deserves all the consistent & loyal subscribers that he's been growing.
I came here because I saw your reaction to Ugh and Arson. I'm really glad you've given j-hope and BTS a chance. If you think On the Street is amazing, wait till you dig a little deeper beneath the layers. I can't write an essay (well I could, but I won't), but here are my TLDR highlights:
Learning so much, thank you. 💜
Love your analysis of j-hope & J Cole's songs past & present all imbued in 'on the street'
Just wanted to say that I love the body language in that handshake at the end. You can seen JHope giving JCole the respect with lowered head and even a little courtly bow to the king with his back leg bent and front leg straightened. That ending scene was a great one for such an awesome song.
J-Hopes dance moves in this video are like a warm up dance for his more complex choreography. Hope is a fantastic dancer, rapper and singer.
J-hope is one of the few distinguished people in Korea, and this is what made me obsessed with his songs, their strong rhythms, their lyrics, and so his last album jack in the box is such a masterpiece
And this song OMG THEY BOTH ARE AMAZING 🤯❤️🔥
The fact that Jhope gave a lot of lines to Cole shows the extent of his respect and love for him because he is actually his inspiration. Jhope has an mixtape ( Hope world) based on cole world .
Happy you are open minded unlike other reactors to this song lol .. will miss J hope 💜💜💜💜
Ay good music is good music. I’m always open minded to all types. I enjoyed this track. Definitely in my playlist
it’s so heartwarming to see J-Hope meeting his inspiration, walk and dance the streets of NY where his love for Hip-Hop originated.
Hope and Coles fandoms are both pretty huge😭 views were definitely gonna come through , they’re HUGE
I'm sure that you will see many suggestions for J-hope songs you could react to if you are curious to find out more about him.💜
i also thank jhope because this the first time i i get to listen to jcole. ive been missing alot! jcole is sooo amazing!
Fun fact: j-hope of BTS had over 100M view in 24 hours with one of their songs. ARMY (BTS fan name) turn out for BTS too:)
That’s f*cking amazing‼️I gotta check out BTS..I was impressed with J-Hope. Can’t deny good music.
Nothing more to day about Hope, army covered all about that. Just passing to say that the smile blooming in your face when you saw Cole is the same one that appears in our faces everytime we see Hope, and all of BTS. I enjoyed thoroughly your reaction, because you LOVE Cole World, and I feel the connection through the love I have for BTS.
I think it is amazing how you went down the J-Hope, Agust D, BTS rap line to the BTS rabbithole because you were fanboy excited to check out and reaction to a song featuring J-COLE.
Jermaine’s bangs… I am cackling 😂 Great reaction! Hope you look more into Jhope and BTS’s rapline
Proud army I’m here only for my sunshine J-hope . Thank you 😊
I just want to say he is top rapper of all time in english language wow. I respect him so much.
Our BTS boys are also lyrical genius in their own language. Dang!
Love your reaction
J-Hope is a member of the Korean group BTS. He is 1 of 3 rappers. They have 4 vocals. They all dance but J-Hope was a street dancer and is the lead dancer of BTS. Please react to these BTS songs. You might be pleasantly surprised. BTS has a HUGE fan base called Army. Army is made up of people of all races, backgrounds and ages. I'm 58!
1. Mic Drop music video
2. Born Singer (adapted from J. Cole's Born Sinner) live performance
3. Hip Hop Lover live performance
4. On Kenetic Manifesto music video
Can't wait to see your reaction. 💜
I knew J-Cole just by his name, and never really listened to his music, but after this, I can say that I have so much respect for him! His lyrical and rapping skills are on another level 🙌🏻
Thank you for giving J-Hope love. He's so talented, and J. Cole is his idol. Dream collab. This song is lit. 🔥
you should check his live performances at lollapalooza and MAMA awards 2022, jhope's an amazing performer 🔥🔥🔥
The heavy budget got me 😂🤣
Thank you for enjoying our j-hope!!! I love your reaction!!
LOL right? 😅 There's Barely No Street in Manhattan that's not Crowded, but there are few and yeah, Hybe BH budget is pretty vast, so IF they ever need to shut Down a street or two, hey, they'll do what they gotta do.😁🥺💜
What amazing does it feels watching a fan getting so excited about his artist. Real respect, real love.
Admirable the love of a fan
Watching this now is just wholesome and hilarious... he wasn't ready like AT ALL
Love when people first discover BTS or the members individually. Love watching folks go down the rabbit hole, realizing that if they just give BTS a chance, read the lyrics and translations, that the group is absolute gold.
I first came to your channel over 1 yr ago to watch this very reaction. Watching it again today after the music journey you've been on with J-Hope and BTS is so surreal. I would love to see you react to this song again with fresh eyes. Thank you for not being close minded and opening your heart up and appreciating BTS and what they have brought into this world. Much love
You can't believe the whistling came when j-hope just whistle some sound and ahhh he got the right whistle and beat for the song.
If you like the song please call up your local radio stations and help JHope and JCole get on the air! That's a great way to help them. Let's get this blown up! Cheers 💜
Thank you for reviewing our #JHOPE and his muse Mr #JCOLE in their collab for #InTheStreet
We are so proud of him, and crazy~ grateful~ happy, Mr Cole agreed to create and perform with him in this mv! #peace
Absolutely loved your reaction and as you can tell we BTS Army adore our JHope and have always deeply respected JCole (who many of us only knew because of the many many times the members but JHope especially have paid respect to his being their inspiration). The two really made something special here.
it was really nice to see the reaction of J. Cole's fan on this song.
His smile when see j cole was beautiful haha
As a DIE HARD J cole fan and an Army, this collab had me SHAKING, but at the same time he said 7.2 mil in 22 hours, it’s not bc of J cole sadly but still, when J cole drops the WORLD STOPS
Thank you for reacting and appreciating J-Hope. This song is kinda emotional for us his fans as this is the last song he release before serving his duty in mandated military service. J.Cole is his longtime hero so him collaborating on this song is something that makes all of us cry in happiness.
What an honor for Jhope to collab with a legend like J Cole....
Such an underrated song, genius
Bump into this video reaction, it gives smile on my face bcs of the reaction, and gave tears in my eyes reading comments and your replies. Thanks for watching and sharing your thought and give our Hope respect and chance without seeing/judging him as a "boyband" member. Thank you!
I LOVE this REACTION you were so RESPECTFUL and OPEN MINDED thank you for LOVING this SONG and ENJOYING it and being RESPAECTFUL to Jhope 😁💜
This song has been on repeat ever since. Love both J-Hope and J. Cole, they're amazing 💜
I was up till 4 a.m. watching your reactions and they rock ! So happy to see jhopes fans and coles fans colabing in supporting their careers !🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you for the reaction. A gentle reminder. Those millions of views are not easy to get. We work hard for it. Please, you, J Cole fans, stream on TH-cam and Spotify. We need all the help we can get. 🤗😊
came for the song's reaction but i ended admiring your admiration, I FEEL YOU
"First off shout out to Golden Corral" 😂😂😂 that sent me but also this reaction is everything! Thank you
I love when Bob ARMY people react to J-Hope. My respects to J Cole. Masterpiece.
BRUH this song broke me into tears I was sooooo moved
I'm here for J Hope, I didn't know J Cole. I loved your reaction I'm going to watch all his videos about BTS
j-hope is the best dancer and performer in the industry (you should watch his lollapalooza performance where he was a headliner, it's on youtube), so yeah "the moves")
ummm..not to disrespect to Jermaine but i'm pretty sure the views coming from the BTS army bro..BTS has 100M+ views in 24 hrs theyre on a whole other level, they onced closed down the whole Grand Central Terminal just for a performance, yess they HAVE that power to do that, various landmarks in the US lit their buildings into purple (BTS' signature color) to welcome them in the country. Various airports all over the world lit their airports into purple to welcome them in their countries. Not a fan but BTS are NO JOKE i'm tellin u as a friend here. Not a fan or them but i respect them a lot as a musicians, their crafts hit different.
This is the third time I've come back to this video. I have been following your BTS journey and I love your reactions. I like how real you are and respectful of other artists you know nothing about. We are running out of time until J-Hope is enlisted, probably days, but the sooner he goes, the sooner he can come back to us. You know this song was his "farewell for now" song to ARMY's? Thank you again. 💜
Today, the 10/03th, On the streets has been out for a week and there are already almost 20 million views...
BTS fandon is very supportive of everything its members do.
Anyone who loves BTS will be loved by their fans. I saw that videos with J Hope have dramatically increased views on your channel. BTS is like that: it changes people's lives (for the better!). Great!
May your channel grow, as your reaction seems very sincere.
From Manaus, Amazon, Brazil!
Thank you for doing a reaction to On the Street and being so respectful towards j-hope. This was a dream for him as J. Cole has been his muse for over 10 years.
Our Jhope hereeee💜💜💜💜
Loved your reaction brother keep it up!
Thanx fam…glad you tuned in🫡
broo loved this reaction so much, your love for jcole is so big i teared upp
Aaahhhh Cole killed this!! I already love J-Hope and I know he was laid back on this. ooooh i'd love to see you react to "Hip Hop Lover" with color coded lyrics! j-hope raps on it and there's a line in there about how he named his own mix tape Hope World like Cole World. it has all three of the bts rappers on it but you should check them all out anyway. hip hop lovers for sure. loved the reaction!
Thank you for showing this song love it’s very meaningful to jhope and ARMY especially since this was his song for us while he’s away in the military
hobi started as a street dancer and was inspired by j. cole (his muse, as hobi said himself). now this. and right before his mandatory enlistment 🥹 i’m so happy you met him
I was in the 4th minute of reactio and already loving it! haha Thank you for being respectful and opened to get to know J-hope's work!
What an awesome reaction. You're hysterical and so full of love it comes straight through your eyes across the screen. So glad you gave it a listen and are diving into j-hope and BTS. I loved every bit of your reaction to this and arson. We have a saying in the fandom "BTS finds you when you need them most." So no worries about not knowing; we all had that moment. And then we fell down the rabbit hole of amazing music and culture. Can't wait to follow your journey and I'm gonna go back and watch all your old videos! Lots of ARMY will come out the woodwork with suggestions but just remember to enjoy the your journey YOUR way. There's no right way. Much love to you
Its the “ARMY” bts’s fans , also welcome to the fandom we purple you 💜💜💜💜💜
I enjoyed your reaction a lot. So proud that jhope is getting recognized 😍💜
Sorry I’m uncultured in hip hop, but I never heard of J Cole before this 😅 BTS is pretty much my intro to hip-hop but thanks to this collab I’ve been able to be introduced to another incredible artist!! J Cole is incredible. First line and I knew he was the real deal. What a mastery of the English language. Poetic, hard hitting, and with such a flow. My jaw dropped a couple times haha. I’m definitely going to be listening to more of his music now!!
So cute. He don’t even know what’s coming at him! It’s alright. You’ll be ARMY soon enough! 💜
genuinely my fav type of reaction vids :) just ppl who love music, and esp ppl that like hiphop, rap, etc and randomly stumble across a bts song or collab and get surprised with their music :D
Fact:He is now tye biggest fans of jhope and bts🔥
Gotta react to Jhope arson and Daydream and his album called hope world it's incredible
Lotta people have mentioned this song “Arson” i definitely will check it out without a doubt. Respect to J-Hope 💯🫡
the shoutout to golden corral was so unhinged. hahah just going back to watch ur bts reactions from the beginning this one is still so funny. ur reaction to jcoles lyrics is mine to bts' just geniuses
You pass the vibe check… I’m subscribing for more 💜
Best reaction and commentary i've seen for this MV! Thank you for being a real one!
Great video! A really cool idea would be for you to do a “reverse reaction” video for all the ARMYs who are new to J.Cole. Walk ARMY through the album that Hobi mentioned at Lolla when he met J.Cole, and why it was so significant in hip hop. Just as you have been so open to learning about BTS, I think many ARMY are really open to learning more about J.Cole. Thank you!
Best reaction to this song. Mad respect
seeing Hoseok dance underground to J-Cole is so mesmerizing to me and i’m so fucking proud of him (and the others) for how far they’ve come
Your eyes are reminds me of warm sunset. Clear like honey. They are gorgeous
Hate to disappoint you but most of the views are not from J Cole, those are BTS fans. Cole probably gained more from this collab.🤷🏾♂ Cole's verse is 🔥🔥🔥
Cole’s bars are amazing 💜 love on the street
Love the reaction!
Came here because of a snippet from another army in Twitter, your eyes got me! There’s just true in your eyes and you got me, Imma watch all your BTS reactions from now on, will catch up. Happy to find the channel! Thanks for the vid!
Just gotta say, your skin is GLOWING and your eyes are gorgeous. Like, seriously, theyre beautiful!
I think its funny how you discovered Jhope trough Jcole while many armys got to know Jcole because of Jhope and his deep respect for his idol always shouting him out and talking about him. Armys waited for this collab for 10 years and it finally came. And the fact that it was our Goodbye present as well. Just proud to be BTS Army
when you understand the music /lyric/rap … yah it brings tears to your eyes 🫰👍💜 just great synergy between the Double J…. J Cole’s rap is great / J Hope danced and lyrics are great too. JHope’s muse is J Cole 💜 his idol
this is such a wholesome reaction oof i'm finally getting around to watching all your bangtan videos
I highly recommend that you watch his performance at Lollapalooza this past summer. You will get a little taste of what a genius he is.
BTS is soo underrated in the hip hop community tbh. They real good and real recognise real people
