  • The Chevy small-block V-8 is an engine that has touched so many lives that, no matter where your car brand loyalty lies, chances are good that you’ve got a personal story about one. It has powered tens of millions of passenger cars, trucks, race machines and boats. Calling it an American icon would not be an overstatement or hype. To celebrate 60 years of this icon, we took one apart and put it back together, and we recorded the process to share with you.

The 350 does it very easily and has probably the most character.

this made me shed a tear... my old 1992 chevy camaro rs in turquoise, rolling down i95. it was totaled in an accident. someone ran a light and i got banged up pretty bad... well i just bought another one for $2500. its in rough shape, but the engine cranks and runs like a dream. so little by little i am going to restore it back to original condition, and this video made me happy to see finish product... to many its just an engine, to me, i learned everything about auto repair through this engine, took to many places I never thought I would see. helped outrun troubles, brought me peace on my long drives. got me and the best friend home night running from tampa in an hour, and lastly its the one that got me inspired into mechanics, now I fix airplanes, so to me the ending is so fitting... :)
