      Its possible. But depends upon how severe the protrusion is. Most of the time the cause of bimaxillary protusion is due to the tongue posture of ones during the growth stage 11 - 17 year(i think, we can see most of face changes during this age, its because of th growth of bones), and the teeth arch become narrow which result to teeth crowding. For severe case, it's still possible. But there are not that many orthodontists who are able perform the treatment, because of the complexity of using Expanders(for expanding the arch for proper teeth arch), TADs(to intrude the teeth inside/backward/upward) and other specific orthodontic devices. I have seen some results in severe cases, trust me. Extration maybe needed for severe cases(All 1st or 2nd premolars). And some cases surgery must be needed due to the uncertain growth of facial bone during growth.I am 100% that a highly skilled orthodontist can perform and produce amazing result, because I had seen extraordinary result in cases which other orthodontists suggest the patients surgery.

      +Aurora James I read your comment three times and cannot find a single thing of value in your shitty comment. *What's the point of your comment and how is it relevant to mine?* Stating that it is "most likely due to facial posturing" is a baseless, unverified claim. I could just as well invent a claim similar to yours, stating something is "is most likely" something else without proof. Genetics plays a great role in how a person's chin develops, and that's provable.

    Thanks... This is exactly the problem I'm facing, when I'm sleeping my mouth opens automatically, due to the tongue pushing forward behind the upper teeth region, I've consulted a doctor and has advised to take out two pre-molars from both upper and lower teeth and then to put braces.

    • @jamesonthemap1768
      @jamesonthemap1768 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @Zen that's the point, there is nothing wrong with recessing your lower third, an abnormal recessed lower third is the problem. A face needs to be balanced, not too much growth forward, and not too recessed. Getting palatal expander is dumb since the problem is the overgrowth of the maxilla that make the mouth more forward than the nose and the chin., elarging it will make a face where the mouth and the lips are freaking big.

      No, it can’t. People of those ethnicities have that shaped skull naturally. It’s literally part of their genetic makeup (and how anthropologists can tell the difference in race by looking at a skull only). If you watch some anthropology videos about skull shapes and different races you’ll see that that’s a key feature in their skulls. They tend to have protruding upper teeth/jaw area and also have a rounder more pronounced skull at the back of the head.

  • @Simbad961

    Here is what concerns me. By pushing the everything up, you are making ur face considerably shorter I could imagine. Which if you have a long face would probably make you more attractive. Removing teeth won't do that. Your face would stay longer (downward grown). If you have minimal bimax protrusion like myself second option might be good for you. However if u have a severe bimax prot you would need a surgery I could imagine. Anyway the good thing for me is I didn't wear braces as a kid. If your child has something like this don't use usual orthodontics. Your childs face structure will change completely.

      Age doesn't matter for braces when you earn then visit. Normally doctor recommend not to treat bimax but if you have low self esteem and want asthetic face then go for bimax . 4 pre molar teeth will be remove and treatment takes 2-3 years
