    After getting my braces taken off both bottom and front teeth are very flared out I recently went to an orthodontist and didn't give me any hope since there was no pre molars to take out since I had braces 13 years ago and they were taken out back then. knowing this now gives me some hope to fix my teeth some day 🥲Thank you for the video!

      Hello u can remove ur wisdom teeth and create space and use mini screw or TAD to move ur teeth..use that method , u won't get satisfaction from any other methods.

      Absolutely! IPR is a great method for those patients that already had extraction and additional retraction/uprighting is needed. As long as you have enough enamel, then this is a great way to get straighter teeth!

      Teeth are not like cars meaning that you can't put them in reverse. The wisdom teeth have no effect on anterior flaring. I have yet to see anyone successfully wisdom teeth space for flaring. This is why choosing your doctor is very important.

    In 1998, I had what the ortho called the "First Phase." In 2008, I should have gotten the second phase, but unfortunately, my parent's finances at the time were going towards my dads cancer treatments. Fast forward to 2024, and my teeth are flared out. I have been teased so badly because of it. I hope i can fix it one day.

    • @drpassamano
      @drpassamano  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question. Non-extraction IPR for teeth re-angulation has very little or no effect on the lips because the roots are not translated, but tipped inward. Extraction treatment with braces will have a noticeable change in the lip position. I tell patients that IPR only will maintain the lip position, so that's the big difference between extraction vs non-extraction IPR.

  • @easy8figure
    @easy8figure 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    3:02 i think this case needed expansion to make the actual teeth go back and keep it tipped forward to keep the angulation in the philtrum and would also preserve lip definition

    • @drpassamano
      @drpassamano  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good observation! It's much harder to expand in adult because there's no new bone made so teeth must be housed in the bone housing. This would have been best with extraction treatment as a teenager.

    Hi Doc, I'm nearly done with Invisalign and wore braces 20 years prior. My orthodontist is happy with my result but I feel my teeth still very much flare/stick out. I was told I can't get a better result than this and that teeth are meant to flare out a bit. However, that's contrary to the examples I'm seeing that you have posted and I recall a better result when I wore braces 20 years prior (but I was told that was my younger/smaller teeth).
    Your results are beautiful. Any recommendations on how I can advocate for myself? Thank you!!!🙏🏼😊

    • @drpassamano
      @drpassamano  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tough question when the orthodontist says you're done, but you're actually not done. If you received an Invisalign Complete package, then you can order more trays without a cost to the orthodontist. If you have one of those limited plans, then every order costs the orthodontist. All of these cases are with the Complete plan in this video. Regardless, have a conversation with the orthodontist that you'd like to reduce the flaring another 3 degrees and you saw a video about IPR and wanted to try that out. If the doc says no, then ask about offering to pay the lab fee. Give that a try!

      Thanks for the feedback. Orthodontic treatment varies from patient to patient and results are definitely not the same for all people. I use Digital simulations to simulate where teeth are going before we start any treatment so we can see if there are going to be negative effects. Orthodontists should be looking at the face, lips, tongue, airway, bite, gum health, etc prior to doing treatment to make sure it benefits the person. In some cases, you can reverse some orthodontic movements so maybe you can get another consultation to see if you can make your situation better. Don't settle.

If you are not, then IPR is safe and effective for reducing flaring. I would suggest a consultation with an orthodontist.
