I am South African 79, and I drive and love Alfas. But man, I am so impressed by the Cadillac CT5V. It is awesome. The first GM car I have ever liked. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Lovely. WOW.
I bought a black 2024 CT5 that my wife uses as her daily driver and whenever I drive it someone comments on how nice looking it is. I have a 67 Chevelle SS in show room condition and I swear i get more compliments on the CT5 then I do with the Chevelle! I was in the parking lot of the local hardware store in the summer with the roof open and windows down and a creepy looking guy stepped out in front of me so I had to stop and I swore I was about to get car jacked and he says 'sorry dude but I just wanted say that's the best looking car I've see in forever and wanted to ask you what it was' . I drives as good as it looks!
Keep your eyes open, I happened across a used 2024 CT5 premium luxury V6 with 509km on it that an older gent bought and drove for 2 weeks and discovered he couldn't get in and out of it so he traded it back in on an SUV. Poor fella must have taken a beating when he traded it because I got it for over $12k off MSRP. Absolutely love the car!
@@Btrempe I agree that value for money in any new vehicle these days is low. I would say compared to most new vehicles the CT5 is pretty decent value. Before I bought my CT5 I looked at Audi A5 sportback, BMW 3 series, Volvo S60, Acura TLX and not only did I like the CT5 better than all of them it was also much better value for money imo. Not sure what US pricing is like but here in Canada the CT5 is roughly $10k less than the equivalently equipped imports I mentioned and with the CT5 if you go easy on some of the non performance related options you can keep the price more reasonable. I do agree that it would be nice to have another engine option somewhere between the 360 hp V and the 680hp $100K+ Blackwing but for a daily driver 360 is ample and I think you'd be hard pressed to find as nice of a sport sedan as the CT5 for less $ (even though every new vehicle is way overpriced these days). I'd love to see an AWD CT5-V with either a hotter 400+hp version of the 3.0 V6 or even better the naturally aspirated 455hp 6.2 LS they used in the Camaro. That would give you tons of power and decent mpg (plus the heavenly sound of V8!! and the durability/reliability of a NA V8) without the expense of the Blackwing and you could have it as a year round daily driver if you live somewhere with winter. I'm sure some accountant somewhere thought that would be a bad idea!
@spinedoc893 yes to everything you just said. The car is very nice it's just with the V badge the 6.2 would be perfect. Offer it with the manual option that's already a proven drivetrain. Plus you know unless something goes horribly wrong you won't be dropping probably 5k plus to replace the turbos when they inevitably fail.
I’d love the 3.0L AWD. I live in 🇨🇦 so I would only want one if I could store it for the winter. Saw one at the dealer, ❤❤.In different modes does the exhaust note tone down, I’m old and into quieter power when not in sport mode. Not too big a deal because the stereo would be on pretty loud when my Wife isn’t in it. To ride shot gun you have to be technically competent.
Merry Christmas Ratits Family. Thank you for another year of excellent content. As for the CT5 V! Nice car boardering on "Highly Great" shame that GM is too beaurcratic to make it "Great" the Blackwing is AWESOME! Not to step on the CT4 Blackwing give it M4 HP! It has a bigger engine than the M4/M3 but less HP😢 This would free up the CT5 V to have 475hp it needs/deserves! BTW I have a 2020 Shadow Metallic CT5 V w 20" Wheels.
Beautiful car and I have actually been looking at the CT5's at the dealers and i'm not sure on the CT5 2.0 Turbocharged 4 cyl at $53k or this CT5-V with twin Turbo V6 at $58k. Merry Christmas to Joe, Lori and Steven .
I went thru that same process and ended up buying a V6 and love it and would absolutely recommend the V6. I drove both on multiple occasions before actually buying and ended up with the V6 partly because I got an absolutely fabulous deal ($12k below MSRP) on a 'used' 2024 with 500 km on it that someone bought, drove for 2 weeks and traded it in on an SUV. Honestly the 2L is fine and you really don't notice the extra power of the V6 unless you really get your foot into it and then you really notice it. The real beauty of the V6 it is WAY smoother and quieter in daily driving. I found the 2.0L noisy and 'tinny' sounding and just a bit harsh if you rev it up even a little bit. I got a premium luxury simply because that's the one that was a great deal but if I was buying new I would have bought a CT5-V. Its only a few thousand more than the premium luxury with the V6 and for that you get 25hp more plus the Brembo brakes, magnetic ride control suspension, limited slip rear end and a few other goodies and its the only way you get the sport trim look with a V6. We are averaging around 30 mpg (us gal) in combined driving without babying it at all and we are in the middle of a Canadian winter! (and its spectacular in the snow as long as its not too deep for that front fascia) I'm VERY happy with it.
I feel ya. Luckily my Cadillac dealer owner sits on the Board at Cadillac/GMC. Jan 15 arrival. He's got several Black wings and 8 V's coming..I grabbed the all black. Good luck and Enjoy..@@davidhagler9324
It's the perfect size: It's about an inch longer than a Camry. Great looking car with stunning display resolution. I'm happy that it has traction control.
Did you mention MPG? AWD? What about the price as equipped?..........how much cheaper than a comparable BMW. What Audi did you have in mind?....S5 or RS5? Some many questions!!
For those of you who live in northern climates I live in Muskoka which is 2 hours north of Toronto (so we get winter!) and in snowy/icy conditions with winter tires these things are amazing as long as the snow isn't deep enough to hit the front fascia. Other than for deep snow my CT5 is way better than my 4x4 pickup in the snow and ice especially on the highway as AWD is vastly superior to 4 wheel drive in slippery conditions. These are true AWD vehicles ie all four wheel have power to them to some degree all the time and there is a center differential to allow front and rear wheels to turn at different speeds. The snow/ice drive mode gives you 50/50 power split between front and back wheels which is perfect for slippery roads. The other drive modes are touring which is 40/60 front/rear split and sport is 20/80. One thing I don't really care for is if you put it into snow/ice mode it goes back to whatever your default mode is each time you re-start the vehicle. Not a big deal just a bit of a pain now that its slippery here more often than not this time of year. If you have it in sport or touring mode it just stays in that mode until you change it. For winter I leave it in touring mode and if its really slippery i put it into snow/ice. In the nice weather I leave it in sport because it has the nicest driving feel. The only other little quirk is the rear side windows don't defrost well on really cold days. Otherwise this is probably my favorite daily driver I've ever owned!!
"your buddy Al Cantara" funny you said that, my wife's name is Ami Luu and her surname is Cantara. I recently bought her a beautiful custom robe, and I had it engraved with her initials A (ami) L (luu), the problem was, I put the AL together, so everytime she wears her robe, everyone calls her AL Cantara.

I just couldn’t justify paying 20k more. I got the stinger with 11k miles for $39,950 out the door. Very nice vehicle, brembo brakes it comes with the matte grey color, heads up display all the bells and whistles for much cheaper. And honestly surprising performance that can be up’d with the right tunes.
I own a 2019 stinger and am preparing for its replacement. CT5-V, Acura type S or the G70. Your comment is not wrong. I tested the S5 and Stinger back to back. Way more impressed with the stinger and have never regretted the decision. Fantastic cars. I drive a lot (240k on the stinger) and live in Canada, need a 4 season vehicle that provides some fun.
