    I have one, bought new during the covid era and paid about 7% less than MSRP. Love the power, and no issues at all and foe the bonus when I drove from Miles City Montana to Fargo ND about 470 miles without a stop. My MPG readout was 30.3 however when hand calculated it came to 29 mpg. Same trip in a friends CTS-V gave us 19.3 MPG

    Great video. You left out a few things however. The CT6-V also has four wheel steering. It's needed on a large car like this. Second, you mentioned that the Black Wing V8 ( the true Black Wing) was also put in the CT6 Platinum. True, but it was detuned. It was rated at 500 HP compared to 550 for the CT6-V. You stated that the torque was 600. I think that was closer to the Platinum. The torque of the CT6-V was 640. From the calibration of the Magnetic Ride Control, different tires, algorithm of the 10 speed automatic transmission. and upgrades to the Black Wing V8, among others, the CT6-V is a much different car then the CT6 Platinum. The CT6-V is the best handling full size car ever! Why do I know so much about the CT6-V? I worked directly for Cadillac for 38 years. I think the CT6-V is the best full size Cadillac every made. I actually own one and it's truly an amazing car. I've owned many cars in my career including German and Japanese but I always come back to Cadillac. I especially love the V models. I also own a Lexus LS430. I could argue it's probably the best car ever made regardless of price but that discussion is for another time. Last, for a car it's size ( about 17 feet long) it gets respectable fuel economy on the highway. In four cylinder mode it gets close to 30 MPH on the highway. In the city not so great but who cars. Cheers!!!!

    Great review. However, I disagree with your assessment of “catastrophic fuel range”.
    When on the highway on a average of 75+, we are seeing 25-27MPG with the AFM engaged on these cars. In the city? Yeah, it’s going to be bad due to stop and go traffic, but for that amount of power and comfort, I think it gets a fantastic range for what’s offered.
    As a daily driver for me, in city I am getting 250+ standard for regular non-“spirited” driving. So based off your statement, I can confirm that the estimated fuel range on the car was due to the dealership and how it’s being driven.

    • @TreadDepthChannel
      @TreadDepthChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a safe assumption that given the nature of the car its driven enthusiastically at the dealer. Pretty cool for the car that so many people want to see/show off how impressive it is. Especially how many people who work at the dealer are jaded about cars in general.

      @@TreadDepthChannelthey are fantastic vehicles that unfortunately GM dumped before it even hit the showrooms.
      They have privated anything mentioning the model, there was no fanfare like the new Blackwings and Vs, and having a dealer that knows how special this car is, is terribly rare.
      My dealership when I ordered mine in January 2019 didn’t even believe it existed and attempted to sell me a 2018 Platinum instead. They got their hand officially slapped by GM when they tried to drag the Lyriq-V through the dirt claiming that it had the same performance as the AWD model. GM swooped in and told them to stop telling lies, to which they added the update to their article not two days after it was posted.

    • @sopwithsnoopy8779

      I wouldn't trust the AFM. I've read some of the comments from owners on the Cadillac forum where their CT6-V engine blew up with the AFM. One comment even said theirs exploded from the stop-start at a stop light. (may have been the cylinders kicking back in?). I even watched a car review a few years ago, dont remember the channel but the guy is in Shreveport, LA...anyways, he came to a stop to test the 0-60 times, and when he punched it the car about stalled out and made a big coughing noise. He posted in the comments "does anyone know what happened there?" My guess it's AFM was on, cylinders deactivated, and then turned back into V8 mode when he punched it, and probably came close to having the engine explode.

It was one of the original builds made for show use behind the velvet ropes, it traveled around apparently a few hundred miles on that was for all intents and purposes it was brand new brand new they put Brand New tires on it before they sent it down to me and Georgia.
