@@mromutt I mean the way it’s handled iPhone to iPhone is that when you’re switching phones Apple temporarily gives you extra iCloud storage so you don’t have to pay
You backup your phone the night before(assuming you don’t have an iCloud backup or a backup using your computer already)
Then everything downloads in the background once you setup your new phone
Then going Samsung to Samsung it’s much the same except you have to pay for OneDrive storage, they don’t temporarily give you free extra storage
For example my personal phones each have around 720gb of photos and videos of my dogs and whether I’m upgrading my iPhone or my Samsung it all happens automatically. No need to switch an sd card over, the things just appear where they were on the old phone from a cloud backup no problem. The initial download of transferring settings and Home Screen can take about 30 minutes but that’s all the waiting there is
So arguably the convenience of just tapping the old iPhone to the new iPhone is even greater than that of an sd card

I have a pair of wired shure in ear monitors and they can provide up to 37 decibels of isolation. Not all usb c devices accept audiotechnica from the usb c port. Usb c is fragmented when it comes to features and functionality and it even applies to audio as well. With the headphone jack, it literally just works because it's just plug and play and there is no fragmentation being involved. For example, there are certain usb c devices that charge only and transfer data only and does not support any form of audio even though usb c supports audio. When it comes to usb c, the features and functionality have to be within specs in terms of what they can do and what they can't do. With audio, there will always be analog being involved. For instance, you need to convert the digital 1s and 0s to an analog signal to be played back on speakers and headphones. Every phone, laptop, tablet etc. has a dac but needs to be converted to from digital to analog. Unfortunately, the built in dacs are mediocre. With bluetooth audio, you always have to rely on using non user replaceable batteries. I have some harman kardon bluetooth speakers and the battery has already degraded and they barely last that long and the battery is non user replaceable. With wired headphones and earbuds, there are user replaceable cables with balanced and unbalanced connectors and have the option use the built in microphones with the cables.

Regarding removing features, I'm OK with it but the issue is that those changes are made before the market is ready for them.
When removable batteries started, the new one didn't last most of the day, portable batteries were expensive and charging was slow so finding somewhere to charge was complicated because you needed more time. Now charging is faster, batteries are bigger and external batteries are cheap.
When the headphone jack was removed, bt headsets were not good and the good ones were really expensive, the usb c adapters were also not that great and lose quality of the audio. Now bt headsets are better and cheaper, adapters work well too.
I'm still mad about the micro ad cards because there are no improvements since it was removed besides cloud. Phones still come with small storage , apps, files and videos are heavier everyday. The only solution is cloud storage or like 100 extra just for a 256 or 512 version.

On batteries I am not following what you are saying. We shouldn't have removable batteries because charging is faster, and you act like they are mutually exclusive. We could have USBC fast charging and/or wireless charging and still be able to replace a battery when it goes bad without having to go to a repair center or (as the phone companies hope) just buy a new phone. My biggest issue with phones nowadays is how they do everything they can to prevent users from fixing them when a battery goes out or such.

if you can sell the same thing (or even less) for even more profit each year, and mark it as being improved, why wouldn't you? People are buying it. There's this sense of always being current or having the latest gadgets. It's just a cruddy thing to do. But that's not going to stop Apple.

I miss the old LG back buttons. I want my headphone jack back, removing it didn't give more battery space, samsung had it on waterproof phones, and it's not like you can't use Wireless earbuds. Wireless earbuds littering the trash with tons of lipos isn't a good thing. The USB-C adapters are dogshit. I buy any DAC especially apple ones and they work good for a few weeks maybe months, then break. I'm not making crazy bends, crimping it or anything, I'm being as gentle as possible and it still breaks. All other brands seem to last a couple days. And I still can't find a way to use wired headphones and charge at the same time. Every adapter I've bought for it either has two issues, can't actually use while charging, or there's background noise while using it. Also wireless headphones all suck balls and voice calls. Whenever I call someone on my phone with wired earbuds vs wireless, it's like the difference between a tin can and a professional studio.

They talk about microsd cards that they take space in the phone, are slow, but yet the iphone put plastic piece instead of cellphone card in usa, you cant film to microsd, but apps and games can fit in that slower 20$ storage, saving space for more photos or videos, so what you cant film to it btw, you can put the videos to that storage after, take it out and put it on your pc. The batteries can be removable with the same size, they just dont want to make it easily accessible.

Every cell i have ever owned has had the features i just said. I will never buy an Iphone, its just meh... most people who buy them are doing it just for status. If they made the OG style moto razer with 5G and a full keypad instead of that T9 crap. I dont think there are many people that would like my idea of a cell.. but who knows or would want to know.

Honestly can't say I care about the loss of the headphone jack. I hadn't used one for at least 2 years before they went away since I can't stand wires or being tethered to anything. Losing SD card slot expandability sucked though. Storage is cheap, but phone manufacturers pretend it's not, especially Apple.

I'm getting my 5th Samsung phone that STILL has a headphone jack and still not looking for a IPhone. But I'm also not looking to get a Z Flip or Z Fold or a S Ultra either to expensive, not enough necessities, not enough solutions, not enough reason to get altogether. I'm not against the idea but if the newer phones cannot provide the same necessities that their old ones provided they're not worth it. It doesn't matter what new specs its got if it can't provide it can't for now. Wait for it to be better. This is the age of specs over classic hardware. The age of evolved phones that don't share the same necessities that they're intended for. The age of phones that were provided but aren't what was promised.
