Tbh I think the Pixel 4a could switch a few iPhone SE 2 users for a few simple reasons:
    1. The Pixel objectively looks better than the SE
    2. The Pixel offers a better photo camera
    3. The Pixel has a much better display, as it’s OLED and has a higher ppi
    4. The Pixel has a lower price, which might go lower around Black Friday, while the SE won’t go any lower for years
    5. The Pixel has 3 years of software updates, which is good enough for most users
    6. Although the chip is worse, it’s still good enough for most users
    7. Headphone Jack
    8. Stereo Speakers
    9. Google Assistant
    10. Night Sight
    11. Extra features, I.e transcription, polycarbonate, gorilla glass, etc.
    12. Slightly better battery
    13. USB-C
All in all I think the 4a is a better buy, considering all these reasons plus the lower price.

If you want a phone with the best price to performance, get the Xiaomi Mi 9t Pro.
      It has:
      1. a full screen design, with a pop up camera,
      2. 6gb ram,
      3. 128gb storage,
      4. headphone jack and
      5. decent camera (not as good as a Pixel, but mostly there with the google camera app) and
      6. (most importantly) Snapdragon 855.
It also has a fully glass back.
It only cost me £379.99, which is VERY good value.
It is one of the best valued phones you could ever buy.

I just got my Pixel 4a in yesterday - at $349 for a brand new device that promises 3 years of software updates, it’s definitely compelling as an Android device...I just wish Google would give it the marketing campaign that it deserves so that the average consumer would be aware of its existence. For $50 more, if you’re looking for an iOS device that will get 5-6 years of updates along with a flagship, much faster processor, I don’t see it grabbing those buyers...but it doesn’t have to! It’s a great Android phone at a great price, for anyone who isn’t looking to drop $1k on a flagship Android competitor.

    • @iwill_859
      @iwill_859 4 ปีที่แล้ว

companyoflosers dude when you buy a $700+ device you’re paying a premium for premium design and longevity, do you really think those mid range chips will last 2+ years? Hell no so stop trying to spread your bs frugal ways on others because people are gonna spend their money the way they want

    • @companyoflosers
      @companyoflosers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

@@iwill_859 nah, you are mostly just paying for the logo. you really think apple isnt making a huge profit off each phone? do you think ANY phone company isnt? apple is just one of the few that thinks so much of itself and locks you into its ecosystem enough that it thinks its phones are actually worth what they charge for it. which for most people, they arent. they are the status name brand of the phone industry where you pay double just to get a neat design made of brushed aluminum and little else over the competition. yeah iphones DO have a different OS and generally faster chips, but the average user doesnt utilize all that. is like buying a computer with an i9 processor for gaming when all you really need is an i5. plus with planned obsolescence, apple isnt letting you get more than a year or two out of your phone anyways.

I switched phones last month and until then, I took the maximum advantage of the performance of the Snapdragon 625 in the Xiaomi Mi A1. Tried custom ROMs, used the stock one, etc. and it just never failed me.
If THAT was good enough for everyday use in 2020, the Pixel 4A with a much newer mid-range chip can't be that bad at all. Better power efficiency, AI app management, etc. with a decent price. Also the best Google ecosystem experience and actual monthly security update support, not like how other manufacturers do it. Even the ones that deliver on their promises, usually are late, with the updates arriving at the end of the month. When Google already is ready to roll-out the next one. 🤦‍♂️
In conclusion, the 730G will be good for a while and after 3 years, you can extend the support with custom ROMs like the Pixel Experience ROM if you want to stick to the same look and feel or you can try other, fancier stuff.

I ended up getting the Pixel 3, and it actually cost... just about the same as the Pixel 4a does. I wonder what's the better choice between a current-gen budget phone vs. a last gen flagship. Because it's a waste at this price range because it will be shit quality. It's better to have one great camera, compared to what you see with other brands around this price range putting in loads of cameras to look more like flagships but you then sacrifice quality of all the cameras or worse other areas of the phone, and you get one that isn't as good as it would have been if it where just one camera but it's a little better than the other cameras.

as someone thats been with IOS for a few years now, this is the type of phone that would tempt me to try android again. It might not pack flagship features but as a budget phone to try android as it was always intended, stock with 3 yrs of software updates, and packed in a good old plastic shell that I dont have to worry about cases for I am awefully tempted. The only thing I wished google hadnt compromised on was the IP67/68 resistance, in 2020 this should be standard on all phones regardless of price to save electronic waste through simple water ingress.

The Pixel 4a caught my attention when it was suddenly announced. Your vlogging kinda confirmed that I should get this amongst the more expensive phones releasing just because of new tech. I'm getting to realise too that as much as I works love to have super cool new features, I don't really get to use them often. I wish that overseas people can get a taste on what the Pixel lineup would feel considering that this is one of those phones that I would have no trouble recommending to friends and family who just wants a phone that works really well without any bells and whistles, and still runs the latest versions of android. The overseas market are kinda bloated with so many brands and different skins of android that either makes it look sluggish or just outright bad.

I'm using a 4a and it's still a great phone now. Makes it difficult when I think about upgrading, because for a significant upgrade (larger screen with 90 or 120hz, 8xx CPU, faster charging, and better camera - and with a good working clean version of Android) it seems that I'd have to buy a phone costing at least $600, whereas I only spent about $300 on the 4a one year ago.

This just shows how Google is the best in the budget department when it comes to phones. The 4a feels like a true throwback to their Nexus phones. They should spend way more on ads globally especially in Middle eastern and South asian countries.
Then watch people buy the phones from them like hot cakes, instead of making flagships to rival the iPhones and Samsungs of the world where in some countries, no one even knows that they make phones!
I say this because flagships nowadays are kinda overpriced sometimes people have to settle for something cheaper which works and that you could rely on, and that's exactly where Google can shine.
Great review, btw! Big fan of your videos. Been one since the pocketnow days, you had the best reviews of the bunch and had a unique style which you still kept and it evolved even more with your new channel. Stay safe, Sir 🖖🏻

Hey Mr Mobile here is one question that most of reviewers like you tend to overlook, because you don't face this problem.
How long will the 730G hold before it starts lagging. We buy our devices and use it for at least two or more years. You guys keep changing devices on weekly basis. So you tend to overlook this question. Can 730G remain responsive for two years at least?
