Regarding Garrus' comment about what you taught him: there were a couple of responses you gave to Garrus, I think regarding either Saren or Dr Heart or both, where you went with the badass option rather than the more reserved, that's probably it!

I've noticed a weird pattern with the Garrus mission: Nearly every streamer plays paragon so most choices they make are usually identical. Except for this mission.
Most female streamers choose to warn Sidonis and most male streamers let Garrus take this shot.
This may be a coincidence, but it's honestly often enough to establish a pattern.
Maybe more men believe in letting their homies make their own choices and support them, while more women want to influence the men around them, and make them change/grow?
Not judging either choice, or gender. It's just a statistical outlier.

You were a paragon player in ME1, but you definitely encouraged Garrus to be more of a vigilante (ignoring C-Sec red-tape, taking down criminals by any means necessary, etc). That's why he's a bit more ruthless. Don't worry, though, a lot of us vets prefer him that way. 😅

Heyhey, great to see another ME2 vid!
19:25 This relates to his personal mission in ME1 with Dr. Saleon, where you had a choice to (try to) arrest him, or just take matters into your own hands and kill him. So you must've chosen to kill him back then and that's why he says he learned that from you. You can be paragon in front of them all you want, but they only care about what happens on their personal mission 😅
43:05 Oof. Yep, sometimes the intrusive thoughts and/or trigger happy fingers win. Sometimes there's a paragon choice after a renegade interrupt, sometimes there's a renegade choice after a paragon interrupt, sometimes not choosing an interrupt can have its own consequences as well. Damned if you do, damned if you don't! I tend to reload as well after an interrupt or conversation choice goes wildly different from what I expect, because at times it can be really unexpected what Shepard'll do. Games like these have made me a paranoid quicksaver haha

The main story missions might be more cinematic and action-packed, but I've always enjoyed the loyalty missions. The character moments and amount of depth they add is great. You can still chat with your crew members after finishing their loyalty missions for more character interactions and any romance you want to pursue. But, I'd like to think you'd stay faithful to Liara.
Garrus's loyalty mission is one of my favourites and Garrus is probably my favourite crew-member in the trilogy. I'm a big fan of Clint Eastwood and Garrus is basically Dirty Harry in space. I killed Sidonis on my playthrough. But after seeing the Paragon option, I actually think it's better. Adds more growth to Garrus's character. Overall I would have liked to have been able to arrest him. If you listern to the Citadel new, he does turn himself in but you never find out if he gets convicted or not because Omega is outside the Council Space.
Poor Mouse, that was a bit harsh and Captain Bailey is lowkey the MVP of this episode.

Shooting Sidonis to me is the culmination of how you encourage Garrus in the first game. If you encouraged his hard line form of justice then shooting Sidonis is the natural conclusion to that arc. If you were urging him to take a more measured approach, then sparing Sidonis completes that line.
They said, from a purely moralistic standpoint, I think sparing him is the right decision. I think it gets more development out of Garrus as a character.
All through this, it’s pretty clear his emotions are clouding his judgement and that he’s after revenge more than Justice.
And the way the mission is set up is interesting too. The objective is to find Sidonis but the way it’s framed actually puts Harkin as the real bad guy.

But if you're trying to have the "perfect" playthrough you might as well look up a guide and just follow that. Otherwise, please just live with your choices. Good or bad, they are YOUR choices and what make your playthrough unique.

It was not the same, Garrus was less bloodthirsty and didn't blame me for teaching him to be so (see video at19:02). I think the difference is all the way back in ME1 when you found Dr Saleon and you let Garrus shoot him in cold blood. I tried to arrest Dr Saleon instead (he still ends up dying) but that taught Garrus mercy instead of vengeance. It's amazing how the little choices you make in this game affect things down the line. Those were good loyalty missions. I especially enjoyed the theme of a father trying to save his son. Personally, I let Garrus take the shot simply because I agreed with his former logic. But I do love your decision there and I applaud you. I can't tell if you remember Harkin. He was the scumbag human in C-Sec in the first game who gave weird creep vibes when you approached him about information near the game's beginning. Anyways, about Renegade interrupts... hm. I don't know what could help ease your conscience other than perhaps trying to keep a look out for what the interrupt is? You may not always know what is going to happen, but if it is a renegade, it can be badass or cruel, and if it is a paragon, it could be heroic or considerate. Renegade will also always appear on the right side of the screen as red, mirroring the right trigger on your controller and your dominant hand. Dominant and red being representative of well, your power, strength, badass qualities. Likewise, paragon will always be on the left side as blue, mirroring the left trigger and your left hand, the "weaker" hand, the hand you offer to someone you may otherwise wish to hurt, not care about, or even just an innocent who has been harmed. This would be your reserved, controlled, blue, good side. Basically... hm. Just keep an eye on how you would react in a situation and on how that might morally translate. If you are going to react like a paragon, then be ready to hit the LT instead of the RT. If you feel like you would like to be a badass or genuinely feel irritated at a character, then be ready to hit the RT instead of the LT. Don't know if this perspective will help you make more informed interrupt decisions, but I'll leave it here for future reference.

You probably know this well already, but here's something like a basic principle, at least in ME2 - using the renegade trigger on obviously bad/corrupt characters is fine and even preferable, as it provides interesting/appropriate outcomes. For characters that are good or neutral though, it makes Shepard act more like an asshole (though in ME2 it's not as bad as in ME1).

Also the reason why everyone keeps saying you taught them how to be evil is a bug in the game in Conrad’s case, that occurs when you implement your ME 1 save game into ME 2. There’s nothing you can do about except for a save game editor if you’re playing on pc. The reason why Garrus said it is in his loyalty mission in ME 1 you told him to just shoot Dr. Saleon in the face instead of arresting him
