Everybody gangsta until Priority Tuchanka
yes
"Would have liked to run tests on the seashells."
Is anyone else impressed with Seth Green's work at this time??? He did one hell of a job as Joker while also working on Robot Chicken and Family Guy at the same time.
Plus other projects
He's goated
But wouldn't it have been awesome if he got the roles mixed up?
Commander Shepard: Joker!? What’s the status on the bridge?
Joker: EVIL! EVIL! MONKEY!
You got lucky that Mordin didn't sing in that scene. You'd be crying for over a week.
That part with the Explosion hits even harder with Mordin singing
Why did a different dialouge trigger?
Why didn't he sing?
@@tilltronje1623 you have to get him to sing in ME2 by constantly pestering him in the lab
@tilltronje1623 apparently he has to sing AND have the sex talk with you in ME2 in order for him to sing in ME3
Curing the genophage is peak BioWare. Every single decision you made in the three games has its pay-off or consequences. From recruiting Wrex, to Virmire, to saving Maelon's data, to Tuchanka. Mordin is one of the greatest characters of the trilogy with a magnificent redemption arc. His death hit every single player like a train.
A pity you didn't hear him sing in Mass Effect 2. His last words would've been different.
There's a way to save Mordin, but you have to go back to the previous games and the cost is extremely high.
She did get him to sing, but I think it was much later into her ME2 playthrough.
@@_Cetarial Can't be, or something definitely went wrong.
Mordin's last words automatically change if you heard him sing in ME2, no matter when.
That's the first time I've heard these last words, that's crazy
@@lethalchocobo1886 I was wondering why his dialogue was different in her playthrough. This part hits WAY harder with the extra dialogue.
@@TheJva29 Might be wise to edit your comment. I specifically avoided to describe what exact difference it makes to not spoil her.
That whole scene with Mordin going to the elevator and then sacrificing himself is one of the most memorable scenes of the series! It is even more poignant when he's singing his "Scientist Salarian" song! Not sure why they didn't give you that here because you did get him to sing in ME2.
Watching the Thresher Maw take out the Reaper is also an excellent scene!
I've said this before and it's still true. Experiencing this series yourself for the first time can't be topped, but watching you experience it with your playthrough is the next best thing!
I wasn't even aware that there is a version without him singing the song until just now!
It also seemed strange to me that he didn't sing it.
I think it was because Lite didn't hear the song until after the Project Overlord mission, which she did after the end of the main game. Maybe ME3 imported settings recorded at the end of the main ME2 and ignored any late-coming DLCs?
She didn't get the song because she didn't listen to Mordin singing Krogan Queen to Eve
One needs to speak more with Mordin in Mass Effect 2 as there is a dialogue where he will sing. Only then will it trigger his singing here in Mass Effect 3
Oh lord. Here it comes...
Been practicing my tears for this one.
Is just THAT mission you never EVER forget.
Mordin @ 40:40 ... i saw it in the my gameplay and in other gameplay-videos maybee 100 times and every time there are tears at this point .. even if you decide to shoot Mordin .. and even if Mordin survives but Eva ... dang, it's a fictional story but so much truth in it .. governments should playing ME instead of making War ✨
I always thought that the post-mission flow never gave you enough time to really process, and that was a shame. But I think it's actually really clever. The war doesnt give Shep time to process, "I'll rest when I'm dead" and everything. And it reinforces to the player the incessant and unfeeling nature of the conflict against the Reapers.
Mass effect three is such a roller coaster. a joke, crying for a few mins, panic, a joke, emotional damage, rage, all followed by weird scary dreams. its a heck of a ride :)
Not to mention mixing in bloodborne, bloodborne hits differently for sure but it still hits hard. If it was my i wouldn't be sleeping well for sure.
If you heard Mordin sing in ME2, he would have sang in his last moments before dying. Its much more impactful in my opinion 😢
She did, she got him to sing way later in ME2 than usual though. That’s probably why it didn’t trigger in ME3.
@@_Cetarial That's so weird. What a shame, though. Him singing as he dies is so much more impactful.
@@rkstevenson5448he was the very model of a Scientist Solarian.
Oh man...The Vigil theme always brings me down.
Here come the water works!!!😅🤣
I love it when new Mass Effect players get to experience what we OG players had to go through back in the day.
R.I.P. Mordin. He was the very model of a Scientist Salarian and probably my favourite character in the whole trilogy.
It's a shame you didn't get that ending dialogue from Mordin. You did get him to sing in ME2, but I guess the game didn't register it for some reason. I've always liked that facet of Mordin's personality and felt like it was important to his character. Mordin can be very dark, he carries a lot of guilt and his methods can be brutal at times. But, then there's also a Bill Nye The Science Guy quality to him as well; an aspect of his personality that's very passionate and artistic. It's all these different qualities that make him feel like a real person. Excellent writing from Bioware.
To give a bit of background of some of Mordin's dialogue in ME3. He says "had to be me. Someone else might have got it" a lot in ME3. It's almost like a catchphrase. But it's actually a reference to a conversation during his loyalty mission, which you might have missed because you have to pick the Renegade option. I think having that conversation in ME2 adds a lot more meaning to Mordin's catchphrase in ME3.
The way her smile got wiped away at 40:25 is the way everybody felt playing this game.
I give you credit for TRYING not to ugly cry in this episode. It's a real gut punch!
I always tell people (if you're doing it right) you don't PLAY Mass Effect, you EXPERIENCE it!
Really wished you got the Mordin sacrifice scene where he sings "Scientist Salarian", but s'ok! That scene is powerful regardless. 😭
I knew this was going to be a heart break for you Ms Lite Weight. There was no way to warn you without spoiling it. To cure the genophage a big sacrifice had to happen.
There must be something wrong with me that I find some weird kind of enjoyment watching first-time ME trilogy players break down in tears at having to lose Mordin.
I thought I was the only one lmao. I didn’t shed a tear for mordin or even the other deaths that are coming.
@pyr1412 Don't know if you're being sarcastic, but in my case, I did tear up at Mordin's death here, and one of the other Priority missions that happen later.
Man, that'll never *not* get me. No matter how many years later. This trilogy is just a masterpiece, in my opinion.
The music that plays while Mordin ascends the tower gives me chills every time.
Moment I saw what mission was up that I'd need the box of tissues nearby. Every time. I was surprised a certain song didn't happen, but the heart strings were pulled quite a bit non-the less. Such an amazing game.
Priority Tuchanka Will Forever Be One Of My Missions Of The ME Trilogy .
Losing Mordin is arguably the hardest loss in the game. Just remember how happy he was at the end. I have played this game from all sides and saving him is very hard to do and it makes both of you(Shepard and Mordin) feel hollow in the end. No easy outs on this one. I also wish they did a better job celebrating him after his sacrifice. "It had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong."
Saw the episode title and immediately thought "Cue the waterworks"
Gotta say lightweight, your ME decision making is of my favorites.
You know your Shepard, and you know your relationships. It's beautiful. Thanks for Sharing! ❤
The emotion of Priority Tuchunka cannot be beaten in my opinion. Mordin is my favourite character and his arc is fantastic.
I also love the joke scene between Joker and Garrus. It brings some much needed release after Tuchunka.
Wow I've never seen that exact ending! Guess Lite never heard him do that other thing in me2. Reason enough for another playthrough 😂
I was so waiting for this one.
Peak Bioware right here.
I've been waiting for this episode for a long time, but I didn't think your goodbye to Mordin would be in a version without him singing.
Mordins death hit all of us hard when the game first came out, Mordin was more then a crewmate he was family.
I'm caught up to you. I just completed the genophage mission yesterday, and went in with Liara and Javik as well.
I'm (accidentally) playing on Insanity, though. I thought I was playing on normal, but kept wondering why I was dying so often, lol. 😅 When I finally realized I was on Insanity, I decided to just leave it. I'm going to regret it later when dealing with a certain "rival", lol.
Barbara is one of my favorite characters across the entire trilogy. Love her voice acting too. ❤
This is one of the best missions. The Thresher Maw killing the Reaper is incredible. I am super impressed that you got both the hammers on your first try. (First Try!) I died a couple times there. Mordin... well you know. It had to be him, someone else might have gotten it wrong.😭
Really getting spoiled today, love to see it
This is one of the missions I've been looking forward to the most ever since you started ME1, top 3 moment in the entire trilogy.
The entire genophage story was so well done since ME1 and this was an amazing conclusion, but so bittersweet with having to lose Mordin for the cure. I always tear up playing it myself even now so I know this is gonna be extra heartbreaking with your reaction, wouldn't have it any other way though
Just caught up on the last 3 parts! Amazing end to Act 1! I cried along with you! Excited to see your reactions to the next act!😆
(Make sure you upgrade the weapons you and your crew use & try and speak to Cortez more!)
Ah, Priority: Tuchanka. One of the best and most emotional missions in gaming (at least for me). Never saw anyone play this mission and not get moved by Mordins sacrifice.
If you hadn't saved Maelon's data, Eve would have died, making Wrex's position even more difficult.
The reuse of the "Vigil" track from ME1 here is great. It represents the fact that the krogan now have hope for the future.
Shepard's nightmares are one of the best depictions of PTSD in video games. Although some have theorized that the nightmares mean something else entirely...
If you want even more tearjerker material to Mordin's death: there's a conversation you can have with him in mass effect 2 where he sings an opera and then he sings it again when he dies ;;
Played this several times and watched other people play through many more, and Tuchanka never ceases to make me bawl.
Reaper maws
Well that's a terrifying thought
"Would have liked to run tests on the seashells"
...and...
"Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong."
I'm not crying, you're crying.
01:04:44 The Ultimate Weapon... the Thresher Maw Gun!
Calibrate that, Garrus! :)
Getting caught up 🔥
Huh. Didn’t know his dialogue can be different when he disperses the cure
This game is amazing with these storylines
Both are ancient af but the Reaper is even more ancient. Kalros is in her thousands while the Reaper is in its millions or billions. Epic clash of two Titans.
I agree about the krogan. It's easy for me to be more of a renegade with them. They certainly ask for a punch, headbutt, or being burned alive at times. Not all of them. I'd happily meet their roasts and shots.
It never ceases to amuse me when gamers don't realize that to hear everything a dialogue has to offer... you might as well stop moving. You're inevitably going to walk into action if you keep going. Gamers will say, "No, keep talking. I didn't realize this would force you to stop talking." However, this should probably be expected in games that do take interruptions more seriously. After all, it wouldn't make sense in real life, either, for people to keep talking about their favorite food when a firefight breaks out. Funny thing, though, is how this game did try to keep the dialogue going. Maybe it doesn't expect a player to keep moving like that? I know some games are better about it, like when a character will say, "Talk later! Enemies inbound!" But only some of those games actually "remember" to let a conversation finish afterward. Some of them forget. It can be frustrating to me. Which is why I usually try to let the game finish what it is saying first. In God of War, whenever they are telling a story on the lake or when they're traveling by sled, it can seem to forget that the characters were having a discussion whenever you interrupt it by exiting your ride. So I typically just drive around until they're done. I think here in Mass Effect 3, as you were crossing that ruined courtyard on Tuchanka, by glitching out the timing of the voice lines at a certain point, you might have made it to where future voice lines were uh... competing with each other or losing their proper timing 😅😅
Wait, I was thinking of Tuchanka as a holiday spot and realized... did you deliver that message you got off the dead krogan in the rachni mission to his lover, Ereba? I hope she hasn't disappeared after you progressed the storyline here.
Can I just say how intimidating seeing the bigass Reaper with the red laser is as it's paying you and your team personal attention? And running towards is definitely nuts! Everybody loves the thresher maw taking down a Reaper. So satisfying.
I rate narrative games by how well they evoke emotion and Priority: Tuchanka has been my benchmark for a very long time.
Epic and tragic in equal parts.
[And yes, I do have a poster of Mordin surrounded by sea shells]
19:54- Instinctive Vanguard would find a target and charge, not panic while while scrambling for cover... Lol
32:02 - Yes, like for example going through the Omega 4 Relay that no one else has survived into the literal core of the galaxy filled with black holes.
There's also stealing the Normandy in the first game and going into a whole armada with just it to get the Ilos.
Oh yeah and also blowing up a Mass relay with only literal seconds to spare before it blew up a whole star system.
So yeah, summoning a giant Thresher Maw to fight a Reaper is pretty tame really.
12:40 I can't imagine Krogan building things like this highway. Wearing little orange vests while they pour concrete and smoothing it with trowels.
The gut punch in the dream is excellent. Especially when you actually liked the virmire victim. Hearing Mordin's voice is one thing, but Ashley in this case completely blind sides you.
Mordin on his way to curing the genophage: “multiple Krogan, problematic”.
Ah yes the mission of pain. Had to be him. 😭😭
someone else might have gotten it wrong :(
Strange Mordin didn’t sing in the end considering you heard him sing in ME2… but ah well still incredibly heart wrenching 😭
Apparently he also needs to have the sex talk with you in me2. I didn’t know that either, but it’s something for her next playthrough 😊
Wassup Liteweight how are you today really enjoying this playthrough and looking forward to more videos 😊
It's LiteWeight Tuesday with Mass Effect 3 and my favorite
character Wrex have a great Tuesday and enjoy your afternoon
Thanks Awesome LiteWeight.🎮🤠🎮
"Get down stop rolling around!" -Mass Effect 3 multiplayer in a nutshell
Anytime I play this mission, it never gets any easier.
27:52
"Guys, I Am So Sorry, I Don't Understand What's Happening"
In reference to the dialogue doubling up, it's because you're moving up too quickly, and whatever was being said by your party members in one scene is being doubled with whatever they're saying in the next scene
I prefer Mordin’s last words here over him singing. This just feels more appropriate for lack of a better word.
In your walks in the ship talking to your crew mates be sure to talk to Steve Cortez also. Your shuttle pilot has a good story. Not sure if you are speaking with him or not. Might've just missed it.
Oh my... We've all been there. Mordin died a hero 🫡
Never seen that dialouge from mordins death scene before.
Me neither, i only know him singing that sond he sang in Mass Effect 2
Why did we make you play this? To make you cry, of course.
Ooh, Priority: Tuchanka. Are we there already? Best mission since Virmire!
Oh Lord. This was one of the most emotional missions/moments of the series. Mordin was not only an useful teammate, a genius and a doctor, he was at first a great friend 🥲 If there’s one player who said that he/she wasn’t feeling any heartbreak, sadness in that moment, that person is definitely lying. I said it before and I’ll keep saying it again : you’ll need a lot more of boxes of tissue for this final game❤️
I was waiting on this mission, so far your decison making is pretty good for this being your first time playing this game theres a specific part of the next mission that i wanna see how you react to it
13:30- Most fun gun in the game...
Too bad you didn't hear Mordin sing.
The best part is that this is the second saddest part of the game
55:09
"I Need To Go There"
If you're talking about the books off plenix, that mission might've gotten blocked out since you've done priority Tuchunka.
(Though, I could be wrong)
There is a little known way to save Mordin during Priority Tuchanka but Wrex and Eve need to die for you to get that option unfortunately. Not a happy outcome whatever you end up getting
Mordin went out a hero, Fixing his wrongs, Respect+.
Everyone who has completed the mission is distraught and exhausted afterwards. It's amazing how the game manages to convey a sense of war and loss - this feeling that everything is slowly falling apart. Even the "superhero" Shepard's exhaustion and inner emptiness are increasingly noticeable.
I loved and hated this game and will definitely never forget it.
A while ago, you asked on Twitter about what everyone‘s favorite video game quote is and I couldn’t tell you because of spoilers, but now I can. It’s „had to be me, someone else might have gotten it wrong“
Something to remember is that the Dalatress (I'm not sure how to spell that 👀) is just one of many. What she wanted doesn't necessarily reflect what the others might want. We only get to see a few examples of it ourselves, but there are plenty of Salarians who wanted to see the genophage end.
Personally, I don't think its likely that we'll see the Krogan slide back into old habits. Back during the rebellion, a lot of their aggression was the result of the poor treatment they received from the council. Well, in combination with the too-rapid technological advancement their culture went through after the Salarians "uplifted" them. The krogan of this era are more accustomed to their technology and to galactic culture. They've got a whole lot of (justified) resentment over the thousand-year genocide that they'll need to work through, but as long as the Council doesn't try to shirk responsibility and makes appropriate reparations, it should all be golden.
... Yeah. I guess peace depends on the Council taking responsibility for something and choosing to do the right thing. So, even odds. 🙃
Trying to think of a comment worthy of this episode. All I can say is if you do full regrade playthrough and don't have a particular option to stop Mordin, you get the most gut wrenching cut scene ever.
37:42
Don't worry about fighting the brutes. Just trigger the hammers
they should have had a bad side effect of the thresher attacking the reaper. An indoctrinated thresher maw.
1:11:30 Linron puts the ass in Dalatrass.
YOU DIDN'T GET THE GILLERT AND SULLIVAN VARIATION! REPLAY!
Priority: Tuchanka, best damn ME 3 mission. But there are MANY and I mean MANY ways to do this mission:
If you heard Mordin sing in ME 2, he sings before he dies
If Mordin dies in ME 2, Padok Wiks becomes the replacement that you work with
If you killed Wrex in ME 1, his brother Wreav becomes the clan leader in ME 2 & 3
If you didn't save Maelon's data in ME 2, Bakara dies in ME 3 and you lose a little percentage of the Krogan army
They created many ways to cure the genophage if you didn't reveal the sabotage early which results Mordin explaining why he's helping
You can actually save Mordin, but it requires Wrex to die in ME 1 and destroy Maelon's data in ME 2
And there's obviously a pathway if you chose to NOT cure the genophage
39:40 It's like a Kaiju fight.
Was waiting for this one
Had to be him. Someone else might have gotten it wrong...
Love seeing the emotions flow.
You should totally play Xenoblade Chronicles.
I much prefer his final line here then when he sings
If you can find it i highly recommend thre Venom shotgun.
It makes even "insanity" pretty easy
I never got the "new beginning" speech with Mordin. Just the song he sings before the explosion. Hmmm...
I never say anything about the Dalatrass and the sabotage and just let it play out with Mordin at the end, its a completely different scene and i think its more emotional than just letting Mordin go to die 🤷 Plus Mordin gives more into his emotions than before, i recommend watching the scene, it hits waaay harder than the Vanilla Paragon
Fun fact: Wreav would've taken the place of Wrex if he had died in ME1.
01:14:42 oh, 💗Traynor has a chrush on you 💜
Sometimes Mordin sings in that final moment instead and I'm not sure what decides whether he sings or speaks.
There’s a way to save Mordin, but you would hate it.
I think those nightmares are going to haunt us for awhile, the emotional damage in this trilogy is sad! 🤗
mordin didn't sing for you....he was singing when he released the cure for me....i didn't know they had different endings
33:02 Good lad Wrex.
Man. Yeah. We're all with ya on this one. 😢
If you have a chance between sessions, or after the game, I'm sure a lot of folks would love to see your reaction to videos of some alternative paths/endings. For example, this one (th-cam.com/video/b5MTPgjvaoA/w-d-xo.html) which shows a pretty emotional alternative ending to the end of Priority: Tuchanka and really highlights how well they did writing the branches. No spoilers for the rest of ME3, though obviously would be a spoiler for an alternative ending to this particular quest. Totally understandable if you want to avoid them to save for future playthroughs!
Thank u 😈
Wait, is it me or Mordin's part on the shroud seems different. I remember him humming the song at the top of the shroud(which actually destroys me). I have played this trilogy more times than i would like to admit and i don't remember things happening this way....🤔🤔
