What's even better is this guy isn't even a clone he's just a normal dude that enlisted in the republic's military due to the clone army being an idea that wouldn't be conceived for a few thousand years. There's actually a fandom joke that if this dude had been the template for the Clone Army of the Republic the clone wars would have ended a lot earlier than it did.
Can’t take away from Jango Fett, but I could see a case for him being the template. Would get a lot more heavy troops out of that guy that’s for certain

This game came out before Disney bought the franchise and is still active today. It takes place 3600+ years before the films, with the Republic fighting a resurgent Sith Empire. If you guys want to check this game out, I do recommend it!
The only good part of this game was the first release. The individual class stories, the worlds, it was great. The gameplay was basically WoW in space, but the stories and voice acted quests and cut scenes were just wonderful. I got in on this at the beginning. But the subsequent expansions just did not match up. They didn't make enough money to keep going with their plans and had to combine all the class stories into one. It failed due to not making enough money. But the base game is good enough to go through each of the class stories. Standouts are the Imperial Agent and the Jedi Knight.
Its kinda funny remembering how back then we would've been begging on our knees to have Disney adapt this but now we are begging them not to touch this peak star wars content

In the Deceived book, Malgus explains that the Dark Side is at its strongest during battle, and considering Malgus is a warlord who spent most of his life killing Jedi far stronger than those we see in the prequel era, and Bane having seen so little battle, Malgus would likely beat orbalisk Bane in this regard.
For those who are curious Satale used Tutaminis to catch Malgus' lightsaber. It's the same technique Yoda used to deflect/absorb lightning and can even be seen in the original trilogy when Vader blocks Hans blaster shots in Cloud City

Also, Revan was only held captive for 300 years and Satele was in her 50's with a grown adult son in his 30's by the time Revan was freed.
The animation studio behind these shorts are Blur Studios. They’re literally the top dogs when it comes to animation cinematics! The real reason why there hasn’t been any recent SWTOR trailers recently is bc they’ve been busy working on other projects for the entertainment industry. Just look up what they’ve worked on and you’ll understand why
I also wonder whenever I see one of these reactions exactly what they know about the EU. They don't seem to know much beyond one of them having played KOTOR because they seemed as shocked as hyped at the Old SWTOR having more than two Sith.
The class story arcs/quests were the best part about this game, they were very well done. The rest of the game however (at least the first couple months) were pretty mediocre, all the "planets" you could travel to were basically just long hallways, dungeons and raids were overall pretty boring.
I still go back from time to time. The 1-50 stories for each class are fantastic and being able to have light/dark options adds a bit of replayability. Shame they had to merge stories past that but i understand keeping that many going with a lower player count would have made it shut down.
I love watching ppl react to these "old" star wars cutscenes because they finally realize how disconnected the ppl who make/direct SW movies are from their fanbase this was more than a decade ago, and all of the fight scenes in the live action combined don't hold a candle to what these animators have done in 5 minute clips. In 5 minutes they built more story, more intense fights, better dialogue, in 5 minutes they have you feeling every emotion, in 5 minutes you want to know more about every character good and bad, in 5 minutes they outshine anything that disney can do in 180. In 5 minutes you realize that Disney took this era out of canon because they know in their heart of hearts they know if they ever touch this era they will have to put in the same effort as these animators did in 5 minutes.
The thing ya gotta understand about Malgus, is that word "juggernaut" was made for him. This man tanks so much damage throughout his life and he *never* stays down. He's taken a rocket to the face, a grenade at point blank, had cliff dropped on him, been thrown into the heart of his own exploding fortress, and more and none of it has been able to put him in the ground. Hell, at one point he had a bomb put in his neck to keep in line and he cut it out with his own lightsaber, killed the crew of the ship he was in, and fucked off on his own. This man casually chucked a member of the Dark Council off a cliff when she tried to attack him, as if he was swatting a fly. Malgus is one of the strongest and most durable Sith of the Old Republic. He started his own army when the Sith disappointed him and took enough men with him that he was fighting both the Republic and the Empire and doing a damn good job.
@@Giddog40 Smart, too. Malgus is dangerously intelligent and charismatic. In a time filled with powerful force users, he stood out in a *big* way. He's easily my favorite Sith.

@@morothane1 the biggest problem with swtor, was that there was no endgame content to keep the players hopping over from other mmos like wow. The Old Republic-era is my favorite era in Star Wars and SWTOR is my favorite MMORPG. I've played through each class story over a dozen times and still find ways to make each playthrough feel unique. I don't know whether you guys would be up to play it but I can certainly recommend it.
i like it because because its more mmorpg than mmo. you have companions so if you aren't in a party or playing with mates you can still play the game through as an rpg, they also modified the game so that each class storyline can be played by any of the classes, so the jedi warrior (classic jedi) can be played by any of the four jedi classes, each with different abilities, ie one can use stealth, one is more force powers, two lightsaber wielder, one lightaber wielder with the sith being mirrors of the jedi. (only class really different is the agent, which is considered one of the best storylines as you play a james bond type character and it gets a little mind bending at times.
It’s genuinely such an amazing and long-lasting game because they emphasized the story over other MMO pitfalls. I’ve been playing it since a *month* after it was released because the game doesn’t rely on you playing with other people to enjoy it
@@strykrpinoy Yeah I took a *long* break of about three years and it was definitely a shock to me with how simplified everything became. I remember grinding out every beginner planet to lvl 10 (which took a decent chunk of your time back then) so I could go to the fleet and pick my specialization. There was something so special about that and having to plan out your abilities and load outs (I even had an IOS app to help me plan my characters stats and abilities) I will say that although it’s lost a lot of its charm of being a legitimately competitive RPG, it kind of had to be done for the longevity of the game. It was NOT very beginner friendly when it first released and people tapered off because you had to grind out levels like a standard MMORPG. Now that you’ve removed a lot of those barriers, a LOT more people are able to pick it up and play through the whole game because they can focus on the story and not having to be occupied by stat and ability optimization When you think about it on a grand scale, SWTOR being able to adapt is what has kept the lights on for over a decade when a lot of MMORPGS would’ve either stopped updating or closed the game altogether. It’s kind of a dear memory of mine to remember when allowing people to be F2P was a major deal and how much I had to grind stuff out, and see where the game is now to where *anyone* can enjoy the game if they want to play it
I especially love the Old Republic because of the powerscaling of the Force users. They HAD to be extremely powerful because they were in constant war. So you had some INSANELY powerful Jedi and Sith.

He finally understands what many of the force users back then eventually learned. the force is a tool, nothing more nothing less. there is no real good/bad just the person using it. if I had to rank where id put Luke, id probably say 12-14 because as it currently stands, Luke isn't even the strongest in his era. that belongs to Kyle. if your talking about just pure force power and saber fighting ability.

Valkorion / Vitiate, the father during the two sons cinematic, was a Sith Lord during the high Republic era (like 4000 years before the prequels or something) who was so powerful that both the Sith and Jedi fought against him. He was arguably as powerful as Palpatine and pseudo-immortal.
Not High Republic, Old Republic. The High Republic is only a few centuries before the movies. The Old Republic is thousands of years before the movies. This game is set 3600 years before the movies.
Yea, he and Palpatine are the top tier of the Sith. Of Force users in general, tbh. Both are insanely more powerful than 90% of the fanbase is aware, but it's annoying when people try to shit on Palpatine due to their (understandable) bias of this era. It's nice to read a comment like yours that kept it in perspective. :)
@@JadusMoltriel Somehow, everybody overestimate Darth Nihilus, because he has one of Tenebrae's tricks. To drain entire planets of life. Meanwhile, the 1500-year-old goat could snap Nihilus like a twig. I managed to rank a bunch of Sith Lords, where both Nihilus and Maul are below Top 20. Which means even a bunch of Jedi could defeat them, we already know of Obi-Wan and Meetra Surik. Maul and Nihilus are easily the most overrated characters, in terms of power. The only Sith who compares to Tenebrae is like you said, good old Sheevy. And they would rekt anyone who isn't Grandmaster Luke. I mean, even if Sheevy lost against Mace, he would still rank far above him in Episode 6. Although, I believe he threw that fight, so that he could play the victim and turn Anakin. If we're talking peaks, Sheevy is simply one of the strongest characters in the verse. And yet some kids think Knightfall Vader could take him. Well, the master is the master for a reason, because the apprentice isn't strong enough to overthrow him. So I don't get how people sleep on Sheevy's power levels, all it takes is logic.
@Sandlund93 Everything you just wrote is 1000% accurate. Nice to see objective fans who know their Sith lore. People get blinded by their biases for their favorite characters too often, then argue relentlessly to supplement their head-canon. Nihilus is cool, but by FAR the main reason he gets the attention and fans he does, is due to his physical appearance. As kids, we gravitate towards the coolest looking ones, but some people can't separate in their head the difference between liking a character versus understanding how that character fits in the world and compares to others. Also, a big reason so many people hype up the various Ancient Sith in general, is because in any fantasy world, "ancient" evils have a certain draw to their awe factor, especially if they're obscure in the lore, mysterious, or not well known by the overall fanbase. People get blinded by the "ancient" adjective so that their enjoyment of those Sith clouds their view of everything else. Plus, another big part, is a lot of fans think the various Sith mentioned in the Kotor games and various books aren't known by most of the fans, so they get a superiority complex when they comment "Sidious was nothing compared to Marka Ragnos or Exar Kun", because they think it makes them cooler to show they know lore others don't. The funny thing is, WAY more fans know about all these Sith than people think, so it's not a flex, and it's just an objectively false statement. People take Kreia's quote out of context to support this, too. When she told Meetra the Sith of old were so much stronger, that was in relation to their present time. Kreia had no knowledge of the beings to exist 3000 years later, and thus her statement can't be applied to them. Bane's line vastly increased the individual Sith's power, progressing each generation, climaxing in Sidious. Nobody but Vitiate and Grandmaster Luke can compare to him (for non-divine characters, I mean). Some people just don't want to accept Sidious' role and rank. They see the films, which show but a fraction of his strength, and think that's all Sidious is. Lol
This takes place about 3,000 years before Vader, Palpatine, Kenobi, all that jazz. This is back when there were just as many Sith in the galaxy as there were Jedi.
The Guy at 14:45 is the Emperor by the way. The Immortal Emperor. He was known by the Names of "Darth Vitiate", "Tenebrae" and "Valkorion", but most commonly he is known in the Game as "The Sith Emperor". Most importantly historically he was the one responsible for turning Revan and Malak to the dark side. His "biggest" accomplishment was the Treaty of Coruscant. The Women in White at 22:11 is not the daughter, that is the Mother of that little girl and more importantly, the WIFE of the Emperor.
In the second trailer, Satele blacks the lightsaber with a technique called Tutaminis. It's what Yoda used to catch Force Lightning in the movies. And the next scene, that wasn't a grenade, if it was that guy wouldn't have a hand anymore. Given how it was the chest armor scarred and the flash of blue, that was the detonator for a stun charge he put on the Sith when he charged him. One last note is Satele is the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order by that point. She is insanely powerful.
To clear some things up ; These were the trailers for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), an MMO. Basically Star Wars version of World of Warcraft gameplay wise. There are storylines in the game for each class, it's still pretty fun to play single player, and its free. The first 3 trailers were for the base game, and then the second 3 were for the expansion Knights of the Eternal Throne, the ones about the family with the yellow lightsabers and all that. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is an RPG that was a release title for the original Xbox in 2003. Single player with strategic combat where you control your character and 2 party members in combat, and you can pause to queue up actions and strategize. KOTOR and KOTOR 2 are some of the best Star Wars games out there, highly recommend.
I always find it interesting watching people react to those trailers who aren't giant Star Wars nerds like I am. For anyone curious, the ability Satele uses to "block" the lightsaber in the second trailer is called Tutaminus; it's the same thing Yoda uses to absorb Dooku's lightning in Episode 2. She is basically absorbing the energy of the Lightsaber instead of it going in and harming her 🤯 PS: Yes Malgus was a beast, he was basically Vader before Vader came around
23:32 - They had to introduce an entire new supporting cast of characters for the Eternal Throne expansion, so it's the Emperor, his sons and daughter, and the mom.
The character stories in the SWTOR mmo are actually amazing. Fully voice acted. Really well written and very compelling. Eight different characters, with two subclasses each. Eight different fully voiced campaigns.
The first three trailers are what launched the game. 4 Archetypes for each side. Create and play through the game with 8 characters to see the whole story meeting the people you saw in the trailers. The next two trailers (just like the last one) are expansions, Two expansions with basically a Republic and Sith storyline to it. Last trailer is I'm guessing more of the same. But I didn't even know about it till I saw it here. The BEST part is that since it's an MMO and your decisions matter, you can actually be a Light Side Sith or a Dark Side Jedi... You asked about who the main character is, and it's Your Character.
Sith quote thats what Malgus did ment at the end with break free. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
honestly, i can understand swtor being described as an mmo for those who don't like mmos. I talked about a list of mmos that I played for a few months to a year and completely forgot about swtor being a mmo despite having played it for atleast 7+ years. Even now I can't really recall the multiplayer aspects, aside from "guilds" and housings, but I remember loving the story. These trailers kind of makes me want to play it again. Especially since I can't recall alot of the story now so maybe I can have a sort of fresh experience again.
What i love about the multiplayer aspect..is when your in a gruop and do a cutscene the whole gruop is featured. and they all get to pick a responce and the game rolls dice and determines who talks...and that character takes center stage in the cut scene. It brings the whole party together and is awesome. Other MMOs yall turn in a quest together and everyone gets there click and its just ok we grouped but have nothing to do with each other, in this yer all part of the story and yall share it together...was awesome.
@@kirbyjohnson8417 I do remember that! I think I was only in a group during cutscenes a handful of times but I do remember that. Those were a nice touch.
Bioware was able to secure the right to rise and drop sith and jedi as much as they like and name Darth whoever they want. ofc you are able to secure a Darth title for yourself and it is not given away like candies just because there are a lot of Darth and Lords in the game. from the story arcs it also seems Bioware was laughing about the Vader+Palpatine duo, as everybody and their grandma in old republic is badass and would wipe the floor with movie sith. :p

Truly, the golden age of Star Wars has passed. I was there, all those years ago on launch day. You had to choose a single side, Imperial or Republic, and that was it. only characters on that side for an entire server. I was a Sith Warrior, a miniature Darth Vader, for no one can measure up to that particular Dark Lord's standards. Our stories were amazing, engrossing. They made you FEEL things. The joy of mutual love, the rage of betrayal. Nothing has even come close since.
The dialogue in the trailer where the sith invade the republic is completely altered. I recommend looking up the official ones cause who knows what else was altered by the person who made it. The dialogue is much better in the real trailer.
Right? The dialogue is way better in the original deceived trailer. The dialogue in this “Deceived” trailer just sounds really off and doesn’t fit or match the trailer. Think it has to do with Malgus’s voice. In the original trailer, it fits the tone, calm, methodical and full of malice and loathing, but this one he’s practically yelling.
Unfortunately, that's the thing. That IS the official version of the Deceived trailer now. Ever since the game came out it had that version of it in it. I'll never understand why they redubbed it for the release, but yeah. You're not wrong, the original pre-release version's dialogue is infinitely better, but they are both "real" and "official".
Thanks for confirming this. Was worried I was going through a mandela effect because it sounded off but it was the only one that was changed. IDK why they redubbed it because now Malgus sounds like an edge teenager trying to sound cool vs him actually sounding cool
@@AndrewLike1941 nah, stuff like KoTOR and other games where the protagonist's choices and appearance are subject to the player's choice should not be adapted. There's plenty of other material to cover without having to nail down a "canon" Revan. And yes, I know there was one in SWTOR.
SWTOR is indeed an MMO for people who do t like MMOs. It’s best to think of it as a solo game featuring 8 character stories, that allows each character to play missions with other players. Each story takes place shortly after KOTOR II. It’s basically a multiplayer KOTOR III as an MMO.
Knights of the Old Republic was what came before this, since you were wondering. Satele Shan is the descendent of Revan and Bastila Shan, which is one of the reasons she's got such a strong connection to the Force. The Old Republic takes place about 300 years after Knights of the Old Republic. As for the lightsaber bit where Satele blocked the blade, bit of old, old lore and an ability called tutaminis - basically a form of energy absorption. Extremely rare ability, but at its height it could allow the user to actually grab hold of lightsaber blades or block blaster bolts barehanded as you saw here.
this game was my life for like 3-4 years. it was fantastic. the sith warrior story arc is one of the best I've witnessed both in Star Wars and in gaming. 11/10 stuff and i've not even covered the sith agent or the sith inquisitor story arcs. the game was/still is fantastic.
Satele the female jedi is actually in the game on Republic Side, you meet her at the jedi academy, she is one of my favorite characters and her story is awesome. this was at a time when the jedi formed attachments so she was married and has a son. Imagine an entire family of jedi with her as grand master.
You guys are killing it with the reaction choices. I have no idea if one if you is choosing what to watch or if its a survey choices, but keep listening to that medium.
You guys would like this game. Contrary to most MMOs it has decent overarching general story and the class stories is where it shines the most. There are 2 factions: Republic and Empire. A ton of various races (some available from the get go, others you can purchase). Each faction has 4 backgrounds. For the Republic it's Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Smuggler and Trooper. For the Empire we have Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter and Agent. Each of those backgrounds has their own story in game with twists, turns, betrayals and unexpected friendships/romances. Also, while Republic stories will try to lead you on a good path and Imperial on a darker one, nothing prevents you from playing a villainous Republic or a heroic Imperial character and the story will often recognise your choices and either reward or punish them accordingly.
One of the things I enjoyed about the game was that there was a lot of nuance to both the Republic and the Sith Empire beyond just "good" and "bad" guys. Sure, those are the norms so you could play out your fantasies of being a lawful good jedi or a chaotic evil sith, but you could also explore beyond that, good empire characters actually being convincing and fun in their own way. Jedi Knights: "You have come far enough Sith, surrender now or we will use force!" Light Sith: "No need for violence, I just want to talk. Perhaps we can come to a compromise?" Jedi Knights: "...what?"
@@leonduncan3327 Definitely someone who made up headcanon. Nothing about Malgus and Shmi seems similar, and he can't be a direct ancestor to Anakin, since the Force made him. The fact that every single class of the 8 (four on each side, Republic and Empire) have their own unique storylines is insane. There's companion and relationship systems, and All interactions are voiced. I'm amazed it didn't get more popular than it did! Also, as others said, that trooper isn't a clone. This was long before the clones were made. They're all just people that joined the Republic's military.
They announced a few years ago that they were remaking Knights of The Old Republic to be released in 2025, but there hasn't been anything new since they teased it.
It's not cancelled. They are making it a remaster instead cause the assets to make it remade is taking too long so it will be a graphical over haul upscale rather than a remake. They are still gonna release it!
22:00 she is the best!! the ONLY character to use a light saber to it's fullest by turning it off and on again really fast to pierce enemies unexpectedly. Also her blade extends into a staff it's perfect long range ya use the force, close range ya use the blade, mid range ya extend and get better reach with a the staff. Such a good lightsaber that NEVER GETS USED I swear to god Ray should have had one she starts with a staff in her junkyard but noooo.
SWTOR was the last thing Lucasfilm released before Disney bought them. They at least went out on a high note. Having all the people of the Sorta Stupid crew play a different class on SWTOR and team up would be epic.
9:05 I believe that was energy absorption. You can see Yoda do it in the movies as well. It basically supercharges your force abilities the more you absorb so you can imagine how much power she’d have by absorbing a lightsaber lol
Its funny to watch these trailer and then remember that SWTOR is like an old school MMO ala classic WoW. Certainly taking creative liberties with the graphics 😂 Also the Old Republic is like thousands of years before the Prequels so no one is related to anyone there.
OMG I'm so glad you checked out these trailers, they are top tier, not just for Star Wars but game trailers in general! A few things I want to point out, don't worry they won't contain any spoilers for the main storyline, just providing some corrections/context: - As the name states, this game takes place during the Old Republic so thousands of years before the Skywalker Saga. Specifically, it takes place around 3650 to 3640 BBY which is about 300 years after when Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) game takes place. - As you can see this is a time when the Sith had their own order so there were just as many Sith as there were Jedi and the conflicts went absolutely insane! - That dude in the suit who you saw take a grenade and plasma blast and still keep fighting was Darth Malgus. I won't say what he does but he's a major character during this period. - You probably know this part already but those guys you saw in the red and white armor aren't clones. Both the Republic and the Sith Empire recruited their own soldiers during this period and they even fought alongside battle droids and force users. I won't say more for the risk of getting into spoilers but if you ever choose to check out the game, I would highly recommend it. I used to play it all the time and it was a lot of fun! It admittedly has changed a lot since releasing back in 2011 but if you're picking it up for the first time it's a fun ride.
Disney doesn't do movies in the Old Republic era because they had to hire creative and passionate artist for this work that would require research, good writers and they would have to respect the franchise but the politicly driven staff doesn't want to work with fans of the franchise anyway.
To be fair, they could absolutely do old republic stuff without respect for the franchise or good writers. Obviously I'd prefer them to leave it alone, but they could absolutely do all of what you just said
since when lack of talent or passion has ever stopped them from making a new movie? Be thankful they are staying away from it so far even tho I heard rumors about making kotor 1 into a movie...with female revan of course.
I don't know how it goes in the writer's room but I'm pretty sure that if someone who's played the old games decided to do a movie franchise or tv series about the old republic than Disney and Lucasfilm would allow it. An insanely large budget would be needed though.
There's two games; Knights of the Old Republic and The Old Republic. The first is a single-player game whereas the second is a Multiplayer Roleplaying Game that takes place ~3600 years before the movies. The events of The Old Republic are indirectly related to the major points of the first game, where you play as the 'Main Character'. There's many 'arcs' that play based around the choices you make.
@cynicat74 So you judge the entirety of a game based on some clips? Or what a youtuber says? How about forlrmulating your own opinion based off actual experience or just shut up about something you have no personal experience of. Subscribe to Ubisoft+ and try it out but we all know people like you will do nothing but hate everything Star Wars/Ubisoft related. It's like racism for games.
@@Ichigo2k9 I pirated the game just so I didn't have to pay Ubisoft. Its ass. What you see in TH-cam videos and clips is what you get. Its a buggy mess and horrible game.
Sorry, bit of an info-dump but backstory here. SWTOR is set 3600 years before the original trilogy. The father from Sacrifice and Betrayed is Valkorion - he's the third named persona of the Sith Emperor. Before KOTOR, a Pureblood Sith (same species as Vindican from Returned) called Tenebrae (first persona) was born with pure black eyes, crazy amount of power and a lack of emotion and attachment to his family. He killed said family, ruled over his planet, gained the title of Lord Vitiate from the Sith Empire, secretly rebuilt the Sith Empire after the Jedi wiped it out on Dromund Kaas and consumed all life on Nathema to become immortal, leaving it a lifeless husk, and took the title of Emperor. Vitiate was the one who manipulated the Mandalorians to attack the Republic, starting the events leading to KOTOR and turning Revan and Malak to the Dark Side. And after KOTOR II, Revan and the Exile (Meetra Surik) tried to kill the Emperor, only to fail as Surik was killed and Revan was kept prisoner. This near-death experience caused Vitiate to perform another which would enable himself to transfer his essence from body to body, dominating the owner's mind completely and speaking with Vitiate's voice. While he transferred his essence from body to body, calling them Voice of the Emperor, he also lost interest in the Sith Empire, and instead split his essence in two, and transferred the majority of his essence into a man from Zakuul (the planet we see in Sacrifice and Betrayed) called Valkorion, instead merging with his body to imprint Vitiate's immortality onto Vakorion's body. This resulted in Vitiate speaking with Valkorion's voice while in Valkorion's body, instead of Vitiate's voice. 300 years later when "The Sith Empire has returned!" (seen in Return), Satele Shan (Jedi with blue dualsaber) Jace Malcom (trooper) and Nico Okarr (smuggler with Bender's voice) managed to get to Coruscant and tell the Republic. Satele and Jace returned to the Jedi Order and Republic Army, respectively, while Nico (now possibly not aging thanks to the Sith relics he had) disappeared. War broke out, and after losing the Battle of Alderaan (seen in Hope), the Empire decided to feign peace treaty talks with the Republic while Malgus (Sith with respirator) would sack Coruscant (seen in Deceived). This led to less-than-favourable terms for the Republic as the Treaty of Coruscant was signed; essentially, all conflicts would end, and Imperials would leave Coruscant, but the Republic would surrender seven star systems and Imperials would be authorised to engage Republic forces & personnel violating the treaty, complying or not. Fun fact, Satele and Jace got together for six months after the Battle of Alderaan. But Satele grew concerned that Jace's revenge against the Empire was becoming too self-destructive, so she left him. She discovered she was pregnant afterward, and so asked a Jedi master to raise her baby (Theron Shan) and to train him, when she realised that her desire to protect her son had no boundaries. Theron later joined the Strategic Information Service after finding out he was not Force-Sensitive, and Jace didn't know he had a son until years later. When the last Voice of the Emperor (Darth Vitiate, the second persona and his prominent voice) was struck down by the Hero of Tython (the player's Jedi Knight character), Vitiate's essence escaped to Yavin 4 to recover, and then Ziost, which he performed the same ritual on Ziost itself and consumed all of its life, gaining enough strength to return to his essence in Valkorion and consolidate himself completely in one body. During Valkorion's time on Zakuul, he built up an Eternal Empire which would be strong enough to crush the Republic and Empire simultaneously. He also began an affair with a woman named Senya (the woman from Betrayed), who bore him twins (Arcann, in white, and Thexan, in black, from Sacrifice) and a daughter (Vaylin, from Betrayed). He remained indifferent to the twins, while secretly favouring Thexan over Arcann, so "I was not expecting the white-cloaked one to turn evil" really does fit. But Vaylin was the one who inherited his immense power. When Senya expressed her concerns, his 'solution' was to take her to Nathema (the same place he performed his first ritual) and lock her power behind mental blocks (whenever anyone spoke "Kneel before the Dragon of Zakuul", she would become completely helpless) while breaking her mentally and physically. She ended up mentally unstable and essentially a monster, and wrongly blamed Senya for it. Again, "The programming they did to her" really fits. Again, sorry for the huuuge information dump, but SWTOR has a TON of backstory and lore :)
I'm so glad y'all reacted to this. The Old Republic in my opinion in the best Star Wars media we have despite it not being canon. These trailers are for the MMO game that came out in December of 2011 & it still holds to this day. I still play it and you can play as light or dark (4 different classes for each aka 8 in total). In terms of the story technically this takes place WAYYYYY before The Phantom Menace, back when there were just as many Sith as there were Jedi. The first 3 trailers y'all watched were to show the war between the Republic and the Sith Empire as well as setting up key characters like Darth Malgus, Master Satele Shan and Malcom. The 2 trailers after that were to set up 2 extended stories which includes a 3rd party faction that's just as many not more powerful than the Republic and Sith Empire. The 3rd party is called the Eternal Empire btw. Lastly, the final trailer was setting up the game's newest story extension so yeah 😁😎
just imagine the time line in which all of those modern adaptions were given to people that actually like the source material. Instead we got... well..we all know what we got.
Satele Shan the human Jedi woman is a descendant of Revan. In the second cinematic she catches Darth Malgus's lightsaber using a Force technique named Tutaminis. If you've seen the prequels you've seen Yoda use it to catch Sidious's lightning. Tutaminis as an art is the redirection of energy. While holding Malgus's blade Satele was absorbing into her body all of the energy created by the blade. That's why it had such weird effects, almost like it was cooling. A few seconds later she used the Force to throw Malgus through a mountain. This is not a feat she would normally be capable of, even as a descendant of Revan. But because she absorbed so much energy from holding Malgus's lightsaber she had a bunch of extra oomph.
@@daurydavis3983 I mean it kinda is. Rouge one was great, Andor as well but except a few good episodes/moments in the sea of TV shows Disney put out there is really nothing that comes even close to this. Games wise...zero. so to clear up the "Force Pushing" Lightsaber Part, she wasn't pushing the Blade away, she absorbed its Power and distribitued it trough her body, its an force-power called "Tutaminis" - its an Ancient Force Power that needs Insane Feeds of Force-Mastery to pull off.

He started his own army when the Sith disappointed him and took enough men with him that he was fighting both the Republic and the Empire and doing a damn good job.

i like it because because its more mmorpg than mmo. you have companions so if you aren't in a party or playing with mates you can still play the game through as an rpg, they also modified the game so that each class storyline can be played by any of the classes, so the jedi warrior (classic jedi) can be played by any of the four jedi classes, each with different abilities, ie one can use stealth, one is more force powers, two lightsaber wielder, one lightaber wielder with the sith being mirrors of the jedi. (only class really different is the agent, which is considered one of the best storylines as you play a james bond type character and it gets a little mind bending at times.

There was something so special about that and having to plan out your abilities and load outs (I even had an IOS app to help me plan my characters stats and abilities)
I will say that although it’s lost a lot of its charm of being a legitimately competitive RPG, it kind of had to be done for the longevity of the game. It was NOT very beginner friendly when it first released and people tapered off because you had to grind out levels like a standard MMORPG. Now that you’ve removed a lot of those barriers, a LOT more people are able to pick it up and play through the whole game because they can focus on the story and not having to be occupied by stat and ability optimization
When you think about it on a grand scale, SWTOR being able to adapt is what has kept the lights on for over a decade when a lot of MMORPGS would’ve either stopped updating or closed the game altogether. The very first trailer shows 6 of the 8 classes. (Sith Warror & Inquisitor, Jedi Knight & Consilor, Smuggler, and Trooper)
The second trailer shows off the Bounty Hunter.
And at least for the original release trailers you never see the Imperial Agent, which makes sense, they work in the shadows.
Sad we wont see this era sooner. For now we are in the post empire/ middle of empire era which is still good. But i think i prefer this era a little bit.
Thought the Twi'Lek in the second trailer walking in with the sith ground forces was supposed to represent the Agent. Lightly armored and armed with a blaster, but no jetpack or gadgets.

@@azidal3755 mhm yeah mixed them up
@@JadusMoltriel Somehow, everybody overestimate Darth Nihilus, because he has one of Tenebrae's tricks.
Lol
Less than two minutes after meeting him, you really care whether Master Darach lives or dies. First-class character building.
Got to say didn't expect the Danny DeVito collab. Really loved his insights
This takes place about 3,000 years before Vader, Palpatine, Kenobi, all that jazz. This is back when there were just as many Sith in the galaxy as there were Jedi.
I mean SWTOR is it's own timeline but if it wasn't then it would be 3600 years before the events of the movies.
She’s the descendant of Revan and Bastila Shan
I don’t think she was the Grandmaster at that point, just a Knight
@@ShadowGhost0117 that’s right. It wasn’t until the events of Swtor that Satele became Grand Master
To clear some things up ;
These were the trailers for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), an MMO.
KOTOR and KOTOR 2 are some of the best Star Wars games out there, highly recommend.
class stories are 100% still worth playing , the game aged quite well actually .
She is basically absorbing the energy of the Lightsaber instead of it going in and harming her 🤯
PS: Yes Malgus was a beast, he was basically Vader before Vader came around
23:32 - They had to introduce an entire new supporting cast of characters for the Eternal Throne expansion, so it's the Emperor, his sons and daughter, and the mom.
The character stories in the SWTOR mmo are actually amazing. Fully voice acted. Really well written and very compelling.

You asked about who the main character is, and it's Your Character.

honestly, i can understand swtor being described as an mmo for those who don't like mmos.
This was an amazing game when it came out. Still one of the best leveling experiences I’ve ever had in an MMO. Every class has its own unique story.
It’s always wild seeing the sith before the rule of 2 just a full army of the dark side
The daughter VS mother angle or theme is just so interesting and epic. Then these journo's dare say the opposite of what is right infront of them. These are the best SW media vids ever made.

Y'all should watch The Old Republic cutscenes cause yeah the MMO has em...or at least watch Prelude to Shadow of Revan & beyond. Stars my favorite character as well as the story picking up BIG TIME.

"Shortly" it's like 300 years after the two KOTOR
Knights of the Old Republic was what came before this, since you were wondering. Satele Shan is the descendent of Revan and Bastila Shan, which is one of the reasons she's got such a strong connection to the Force. The Old Republic takes place about 300 years after Knights of the Old Republic. As for the lightsaber bit where Satele blocked the blade, bit of old, old lore and an ability called tutaminis - basically a form of energy absorption. Extremely rare ability, but at its height it could allow the user to actually grab hold of lightsaber blades or block blaster bolts barehanded as you saw here.

Y'all should watch star wars visions, its a lot of fun to see star wars as imagined by so many different artists
Jedi Knights: "You have come far enough Sith, surrender now or we will use force!"
Light Sith: "No need for violence, I just want to talk. Perhaps we can come to a compromise?"
Jedi Knights: "...what?"

OMG I'm so glad you checked out these trailers, they are top tier, not just for Star Wars but game trailers in general!
A few things I want to point out, don't worry they won't contain any spoilers for the main storyline, just providing some corrections/context:
- As the name states, this game takes place during the Old Republic so thousands of years before the Skywalker Saga.
Obviously I'd prefer them to leave it alone, but they could absolutely do all of what you just said
So true
since when lack of talent or passion has ever stopped them from making a new movie? Be thankful they are staying away from it so far even tho I heard rumors about making kotor 1 into a movie...with female revan of course.
@@eminiclam Even though that contradicts everything. Unless Sateel is gonna be an Onasi in Disney canon

My gurl Satele Shan coming in with the Clllllutch!
All the cinematics scenes of the Old Republic are absolutely amazing🔥💯
The only people mad about Outlaws are those who aren't playing it.
Sure
Pretty much
Keep telling yourself that....
@@theonewayroad3867 Have you played it?
@@Ichigo2k9 gave it 10 hours....
Peak, That bounty hunter being John DiMaggio makes it better
Smuggler actually.
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Star Wars theory OLD Republic. We've been waiting for you
just imagine the time line in which all of those modern adaptions were given to people that actually like the source material.
And this was better then anything Disney put out
That's not fair
@@daurydavis3983 I mean it kinda is.
Rouge one was great, Andor as well but except a few good episodes/moments in the sea of TV shows Disney put out there is really nothing that comes even close to this.
Games wise...zero. Fallen Order was great but the scope of the story is not even close and didn't add much to the lore except a few really cool Order 66 scenes.
Not really hard.
@@neutchain7838 thought they were OK and missed opportunities tbh. Still better than a lot of the trash that came out later. This game had hardcore plots and excitement when it came out and several expansions later disney stopped updating it (very much) and it became woke placeholder content like the movies.
so to clear up the "Force Pushing" Lightsaber Part, she wasn't pushing the Blade away, she absorbed its Power and distribitued it trough her body, its an force-power called "Tutaminis" - its an Ancient Force Power that needs Insane Feeds of Force-Mastery to pull off.
