Shows what Wrex AND you lot know! Ever played your Shepard as an Infiltrator with a Tactical Cloak in ME2 and ME3? A stealth system actually gives you a huge tactical advantage in combat, being able to execute sneak attacks at will. Also, the ME2 opening does not validate Wrex’s statement. Ironically enough I'm pretty sure Garrus is actually on the younger side of Shep's squad mates. He's never given an official age, but Patrick Weekes has said he's ~3-4 years younger than Shepard (who is 29 in ME1 before Lazarus makes the age stuff weird) and that's enough to put him on the younger half at least, tho specifics are hard with a lot of characters' ages being vague
@@211Shinobu Yeah he's definitely older than Tali, Grunt, Ash (25 in ME1), and Jack who was taken by Cerberus as an infant in the mid-2160's, probably the youngest of all of them, excluding Grunt. Of the non-asari/krogan, Miranda and Thane are both canonically well into their 30's by ME2, Mordin being old for a salarian probably places him there too (since they rarely make it to 40) and Zaeed is at least in his late 40s based on him being kicked out of the Suns 2 decades before ME2. Then ofc there's Wrex, Liara, Samara/Morinth, and Javik who are basically older than every non-Asari or Turian. For the more vague ages, Kaidan and Jacob can either be Garrus' age or a year older or younger respectively depending on if you think he's 3 or 4 years younger than Shep. Vega probably fits there too but both he and Kasumi's lore give next to nothing to go off of. The AI are uh...complicated lol. EDI's kind of like Grunt given she was 'born' from the AI on Luna in ME1 while Shep was being rebuilt, meanwhile some platforms that make up Legion have existed since the Quarians first created the geth.
@@violetbluejay Thanks for the knowledge! I wonder if Kaidan is older than Shep since a biotic Shepard didn't go to brain camp -- did s/he manifest biotics after the program was shut down?

So we gave a human who is very adept at solving problems with violence a gun nut turian with a knack for making things go boom and one of the baddest krogan battle master that enjoys destruction the mission to save the galaxy. The council:What have we unleashed?
Grunt is more like Gimli for me. Their personalities are very similar. Wrex is like your old moody but caring grandpa and Garrus isn't necessarily Legolas he's just his own person throughout the series. Anyways any Mass Effect videos are always appreciated, thanks for this. This banter is pretty funny to watch. These two are definitely bros you can see that in their chemistry and how they interact with each other. Even their outfits kind of spells paragon (Garrus blue) vs. renegade (Wrex red). It's pretty metaphorical and interesting. I love that you can kind of guide and mentor them both in ME1 even if Wrex is too stubborn sometimes to listen to you. Like giving good and helpful advices to your squad mates and follow up on your choices and decisions you make. Garrus's personality kind of changes if you agree or disagree with his work methods and ideas for handling tough situations between missions on the Normandy that's so cool. In many ways ME1 is the best of the trilogy because it doesn't force you to go a specific path instead you are just trying to secure the galaxy the best you can and to your best knowledge and abilities. It's like this vast world that is just endless and limitless of possibilities. It's so open and deep. Sure there are boring, tedious and grindy missions here and there (very few of them though) but most of it is really good and impactful.
Well said! Maybe Wrex can be Thorin Oakenshield, recapturing the greatness of his people. I haven't played a renegade often but it surprised when Garrus implied he learned to kill from Shepard (during his loyalty mission). My paragon heart sank.
@@211Shinobu It's worth it to do a renegade run every now and then. It changes the story drastically. Being mr. nice person all the time can get annoying sometimes. There are like many different outcomes that I haven't experienced yet it makes me curious.
I bet Wrex really did want to leave his pisition on Tuchunka and head out with Shepard a couple times to fight some bug people instead of dealing with peacekeeping at times.
One thing I noticed from the first game that changed in the later two is the setup of Krogans and Turians being mores o at odds with each other because of the Genophage... It certainly pivoted to the Salarians with Mordin, Grunt, Wrex and such as the REAL rivalry. Perhaps that was intended as it was more public the Turian's deployed it while the Salarians were the one who developed and maintained it. Garruss and Wrex's banter here in the first game kinda alludes to it being more of a Turian-Krogan story point that switched. I dunno, might just be me.

@@violetbluejay I think that would still make him older than Tali, and ofc Grunt.
Plot twist: Wrex is Legolas XD
Oh my GOD.
I mean, krogans do live long lives so. . .
He is the tallest with that hump.
he certainly got the looks
Nah. Who do you get into a long distance sniping match with? Versus whose detractors you physically intimidate by literally butting heads? (Also idk why but until I level up enough Garrus is a flipping glass cannon. He is ALWAYS the first to go down in early fights. )

I think the only thing that makes this unbelievable is the thought of any Krogan, especially _Wrex,_ ever using an Omniblade rather than their bare hands or a shotgun.

I swear wrexx is the best supporting character in the game solely because of the relationship between him and the other crewmate.
Wrexx and Garrus are just 2 bros competing against each other.
Wrexx and tali are just the perfect niece and unhinged uncle relationship 😂
He's also proud of Liara for being "one-quarter krogan"!
Niece and unhinged uncle is the perfect description lmao
@@YoungSlim51 man I ran those 2 every chance I got. If it wasn’t them then it was Garrus and Tali (the best romance subplot in the game) plus the elevator throw back lives rent free in my head 😂
GARRUS: You ever miss those talks we had on the elevator?
TALI: No.
GARRUS: Come on, remember how we'd all ask you about life on the Flotilla? It was an opportunity to share.
TALI: This conversation is over.
GARRUS: Tell me again about your immune system!
TALI: I have a shotgun.
GARRUS: Maybe we'll talk later...
Also the whole crazy uncle thing is actually said in game. Got to run tali and wrexx on the mission to retake the normandy in the Citadel dlc. Honestly that whole section is golden
@@nightmareman9960 same! Also I got the crazy uncle line during my first playthrough too lol
Garrus and Wrex: two video gane characters written so well, I actually wanted to sit down to a beer with both of them in real life.
Same, my friend!
Garrus : *Lands a killshot on 3 Cerberus soldiers that were walking in a straight line*
Wrex : "...That still counts as one !"
I did see a video of someone killing 5 Cerberus troops (including cartwheeling phantoms) with one shot in MP. I'm sure Garrus could do it -- no heart attack required.
I can't. I just can't with how much I love this trilogy.
Best not to slip into another Paragon playthrough rn. I'll settle for a long run today with all the trailers as BGM, on repeat. There'll be a strong chance of rains each time Citadel's promo plays. ME2's main trailer (that one with IM and Miranda watching clips of Shep's team) always gets me pumped, but 'Citadel'? The innocence. The purity.
We're not getting any younger, man. 😂
Nope! I hope we get to play ME5 before we get too old!
After the war, _The Lizard and Bird Comedy Hour_ became the duct tape that glued a fractured galaxy together.
I always thought Wrex was a buff turtle.
To Win a Battle, bring a Krogan. To win a War, Bring a Turian. To Save the Galaxy, Bring *Both* .
I wanted to but I didn't have my krogan family in ME3...
On my first mass effect 1 play through wrex and garrus were the only squad mates i took with me, their banter meant everything to me
Best bros!
Wrex really was the best thing for the Krogan.
Grunt doesn't hurt either.
@@JnEricsonx Always a pleasure having a krogan on the team!
@@211Shinobu When I met Steve Blum the second time, he did the Grunt laugh for a few moments. I was so glad he didn't die in 3, I was stressed till he shows up bloody and hungry.
@@JnEricsonx I cried and then laughed through my tears when he showed up at the end!
Well yeah. Wrex is basically Krogan equivalent of Gandhi.
2:28 I find it hilarious that the Salarian glares at Garrus when he snarks off about Vorcha eating habits.
"Dude, seriously? You're siding with the KROGAN?"
Put these two on your squad and you barely have to do anything! Two best warriors in the galaxy! They're major yet friendly rivals but they round out a near perfect fireteam. I don't like what they did with Wrex in the Armax Arsenal Arena in the Citadel DLC though. They made him use a pistol in lieu of an assault rifle which is just silly. It's alright though. Shotguns suit him best and he still has that.
The way I played ME1 it rarely made sense to have anyone else but these two. Wrex in front, Garrus in the rear, what more do you need?

The dialogue in this game is genuinely AMAZING, literally taking notes. The chemistry
Good characters interacting with each other -- pure joy.
Shepard staying (mostly) silent through all of this makes me think she's just reaching her limit with these two lovable goofballs.
"Don't get involved... don't get involved..."
Seeing James at the end with those two bantering would have been a treat LMAO... James really liked the Krogan and Wrex was the best example for that!
James is cool. He wants to try fighting Wrex mano a mano!
I wish we could get an animated mass effect series so the whole crew can go on missions together and have fun dialogue
That's brilliant dude
With Hollywood as it is right now, probably not the best time. I’m willing to wait tho, I’d watch it

This is peak friendship in my eyes.
Garrus and a random turian are pulling Wrex from a horde of husks.

Wrexes smartest line is
"Only an idiots wants combat with a stealth ship"
Its so true😂😂😂
Also wrex and garrus at the salarians base is nigh peak of this game
I have no frame of reference but I'll take your word for it!
Well, Wrex has been around since somewhere around 15th century? Plenty of time to learn the art of war.
ill always stand by my opinion that garrus, wrex, and broshep would make for the best 3way bromance
No argument here!
Wrex “never though I’d die fighting side by side with a Turian”
Garrus “how about side by side with a friend”
Aye. I can do that.
My fave super space best friends. Besides Chief and Arby
I first read that as "Space Beast Friends!"
Okay how fkn adorable is that?! I need to play rverything again with those 2 as my only squad?! I usually used Wrex and Tali or Garrus and Tali
It really is a shame that Wrex isn’t a party member in the 3rd game (outside the dlc ofc). He and Garrus are who I’d want backing me up when charging into battle against the Reapers!
Hear, hear!
*after a battle with the Reapers*
Garrus: Final count: 42.
Wrex, sitting on a dead body: 42? That’s not bad for a bird faced Turian cop. I myself am sitting pretty on 43.
*Garrus frowns (can Turians frown?) and shoots at the body Wrex is sitting on*
Garrus: 43.
Wrex: He was already dead.
Garrus: He was twitching.
Wrex: He was twitching because he’s got my omni-tool IMBEDDED IN HIS NERVOUS SYSTEM!
*Wrex wiggles the omni-tool’s handle, causing the husk to twitch*
God I love these two.
Actually, surprisingly enough the Chemistry between Drack and Vetra is arguably even better in Andromeda - some of their dialogue while driving around in the rover is hilarious (and way better than most the campaign lol)
Drack is Vetra's dad.I can't remember what he said when Vetra and Ryder got together, but it was cute. The Nomad banter was the best.
Garrus definitely got the Normandy fight he wished for in me2
True! They didn't get to use the stealth, though.
*Fine*, I’ll start another play through
Yay~! Have fun!
Wrex's home front must have a lot of trees, because he has shade to spare
2:27 apparently Garrus knew how to follow that up lmao
I love that he played along!
The Salarian soldier looked SO offended
Gosh I wish Wrex, Garrus, Liara and Tali were all available in ME3 for the Wrex mission
“Don’t have a panic attack, I’ll protect you” 😂😂😂
The cute part is he really will protect Garrus!

Love this squad.
It is a literal crime that we didn't get wrex as a companion in ME3
You briefly get him during the Citadel DLC for a bit.
He’s kinda busy organizing the krogan. Things would fall apart without him there to keep order.
Honestly, I love how these two transcended their species' hatred of each other and became friends and even brothers and arms.
Garrus was a jerk in ME1 but he got better.
These two were the best sidekicks in the game, besides Liara if you romanced her
There's a reason why the other one wears red and the other blue. They're the primary squadmates.
Who's the yellow ranger? Tali in Liberator armor?
Shepard and the Reapers are mortal enemies, like Turians and Krogans, or Salarians and Krogans, or Krogans and other Krogans. Damn Krogans, they ruined Tuchanka!"
But Turians and Salarians and Krogan can make peace with the Krogan. Can Shepard make peace with the Reapers?
IDK why but the Salarian glaring after Garrus said Vorcha like grilled Salarian liver just freaking killed me

@@211Shinobu People which are close argue a lot. A natural thing.
I bet Wrex really did want to leave his pisition on Tuchunka and head out with Shepard a couple times to fight some bug people instead of dealing with peacekeeping at times.
He'd like to hide from the females for a bit, I reckon. "More ice!"
You're right, there wasn't as much animosity toward Turians in general.
We Krogan are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances!
