    Awesome content. What if your root cause is difficult to treat ? I suspect that my IMO is due to a history of concusions from collisions sports (I also present with other mild autonomic dysfunction) that has effected my MMC. Would be great to have a video on this issue. Keep up the great work. Definatly the best source of information available.

      Hi, RyCam02! Thank you so much! That is so sweet of you to say. If you feel so inclined, I would so, so appreciate it if you'd share my channel or a video to any groups or forums you are a part of.
      RE: Concussion: Hmmm. That is tricky, but not impossible. You'll want to do a combo approach of anti-inflammatory support and pathway support. The two things that come to mind for the latter are functional neurology or biofeedback, or perhaps both. Hope this helps!

    Awesome explanation! Though, if the gas slowly dissipates into the bloodstream and then is released via exhaling, why do some people have 24/7 bloating?

    Wouldn't RIFAXIMINE help to kill the bacteria producing D lactate?
    I took a lot of planctarum probiotics, I thought I was doing good, I took 3 times what was recomended (daily) for a week until I started to feel bad
    that was after finishing a rifaximine treatment, so the bacteria had my stomach for themeselves, also I took fermented pineapple water, which make me feel worse :(
    could you please help me, I have dizziness (for years now that I remember, but it comes and goes), brain fog and fatigue, I feel like my brain has not enough energy or something
    how can I contact you? thanks in advance

    Hi Doctor, I'm taking right now Rifaximin and I'm a little scared of what will happen after the antibiotic course is over. I'm wondering if eating tons of fiber (for example the protocol of Dr. Terry Wahl's mentions 10 cups of broccoli daily) will act as a prokinetic? is this a terrible idea?

    • @gutmicrobiomequeen
      @gutmicrobiomequeen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm. I like the Wahl's protocol, but I think it might be a bit much in this case. I'd recommend focusing on diversity of plant fibers more so than quantity. I have a free download here that will help! :) Best of luck! infinityholistichealth.com/diversity

      @@gutmicrobiomequeen thank you very much, I will follow your sheet.
      I'd like to ask you one more: In my GI map show that I have ZERO Akkermansia M. and Faecalibacterium P. (I know they are important for inmunity and regeneration). I used too many antibiotics in the past.
      I have the idea of drinking (or doing an enema) a small dose of RAW cows milk to get those good bugs (you cannot get them anywhere else). What do you think?

    • @gutmicrobiomequeen
      @gutmicrobiomequeen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't recommend that. First I would verify with repeat testing to make sure the GI Map was correct. Never trust a single sample before making that big of a decision. I would consider running a Thryve test. Then if those two are indeed gone (I don't believe they are completely extinct!) I would highly recommend FMT over and DIY endeavor. We have a whole episode about FMT on the IBS Freedom Podcast :)

    Thank you for this video. Just had breath test and was high in both hydrogen and methane. My only symptom is severe and continuous bloating - going on the better part of 4 years now. It had gone dormant twice. My Dr. prescribed rifaximin (couldn't obtain) and then cirpofloxacin (not working at all) as well as low FODmap diet (also doesn't seem to be working). I do not have celiac and was also given a CT scan - nothing wrong there. Will discuss prokenetics but any other insight you might have would be greatly appreciated.

      @@francenecostello9915 I feel and understand how bloated you feel. I took the breath test 6 times always comes out different. But bloated 24/7 even drinking water. Forgot what it’s like to be normal. I spent over $150,000 out of pocket for all the herbals. The antibiotics all the testing‘s that were not covered by my insurance all for nothing and not one single thing changed my bloating pressure stomach. It says that you had a dormant stage. How did you do that? I’m just taking right now and started prokinetics. Hopefully it works or until they come out with some cure.

      @@affordableaquariumservices1663 so sorry this is happening to us and so many others, i still think we have to determine the root cause - what else is going wrong to have this bacteria stick around? As it relates to my dormant stage, I got really sick and barely ate for 3 days and it hibernated for 3 months after that. The 2nd time I was on GIzyme, amphotericin and ivermectin and it stayed fairly good for 2 months before coming back.

      @@francenecostello9915 wow that’s crazy. It’s a weird disease. I’ve been through all this motility testing and everything to find a root cause, and still have not found it. The only thing that happened to me right after I got sibo I think I got food poisoning from eating sushi. But I was had a slow metabolism, but I really don’t think finding the root cause matters people who can’t find the root cause took antibiotics in the care of their sibo, and it never came back, but I’ve never heard of anybody curing there sibo. Rabbit hole of all those tests that came out nothing the only thing that came back was methane at 15. My symptoms have never went dormant or went away. Of course, when you don’t eat, your stomach gets less bloated but you eat one thing and boom comes right back. They say the methane is not even a Bacteria. It’s an Archae who the hell knows these so-called experts give you enough information and you buy their products only to get no results and then they always come back and say you need to find the root cause if this doesn’t work which I think is total bullshit. Hopefully somebody solves this!

    Have you had any experience with patients that have taken Rifaximin?

    • @gutmicrobiomequeen
      @gutmicrobiomequeen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitly. Easily 50% of my patients have tried multiple rounds of Xifaxan or Rifaximin prior to working with me. For some, it works wonders. For others, it is a bandaid that only works for a very short period of time. I have also seen people who swear that it made them feel worse (indicating that small bowel dysbiosis was a bigger issue for them all along). Hope that helps!

    Cant you starve SIBO with a 2-3 week elemental diet ?

    • @gutmicrobiomequeen
      @gutmicrobiomequeen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Theoretically, yes. I wonder if that is the whole deal though. I hypothesize that part of how the ED works is by mimicking fasting physiology. So, the user would get a boost or shift or change in immunity, nervous system function, and gut barrier function in addition to any "starving" of the bacteria.
      As we know, though, small intestinal DYSBIOSIS appears to be the big driver of SIBO symptoms,, rather than the increase in quantity. Couple that w the fact that you can't "starve" the bad guys without starving the good guys, and I think the ED leaves a lot to be desired. I have worked with people who felt worse during or after ED, and I personally never use it with my patients.
