    The most common symptoms I see with SIBO are bloating (particularly after meals, but it can be all day long) and an intolerance to high fiber and high FODMAP foods 🥑

      HI, I have treated SIBO four times unfortunately for me it always comes back.
      I now have gastritis, gastroparisis, and constipation.
      I don’t know if SIBO caused the other conditions or they caused SIBO. I live in the UK
      I’m looking for someone that can help me before the doctors put me on strong pharmaceutical drugs. 😢

    Dr Ruscio back in April my liver enzymes blood numbers elevated significantly. A Gastro doctor told me I had NAFLD. I personally wasn’t convinced, even though I was experiencing discomfort in my stomach area. Around the same, time I determined I was now dairy intolerant. I found you on TH-cam and immediately started taking your three probiotics. My liver numbers returned to normal (in fact the numbers were better than they’ve ever been.) My doctor tested me for Alpha-Gal syndrome, and sure enough I have it! Soooo, I will continue taking your three probiotics, plus eating non-dairy, gluten free, and meat free for the time being. I am scheduled to take acupuncture protocol to get rid of the Alpha-Gal symptoms. I feel your probiotics are healing my gut issues, plus things like brain fog, fatigue, etc. Thanks for great products.

    I’m just taking the SIBO test now. Being female and age 54 yrs, I have struggled with IBS symptoms and digestive issues since my early twenties. From diarrhea and urgent defecation, to chronic constipation . I was diagnosed with under active thyroid at age 28. I’ve suffered from fatigue, depression and anxiety all my life. I went on a yeast free diet in my twenties for a very bad case of thrush in my fingernails. When I was 33 yrs old I was diagnosed with hepatic steatosis. I could never gain weight in my twenties and today I have issues losing and keeping a healthy weight. Thank you for this informative video. I will share.

    I have struggled with digestion problems for years, since I was a teenager. Now I am 31 and I still have problems. I have been diagnosed with IBS and for a few years I have been also developing reflux, which I am on medication for. My stomache bloats so much sometimes that I look like a pregnant woman. I also have been depressed and struggling with a lot of anxiety. I only heard of SIBO recently and it makes so much sense with what I have experienced. I can't wait to get the test and maybe finally get rid of my problem for all.

      I'm sorry you've been dealing with that. It can be so daunting. Just remember that there's a lot of avenues for treating gut health, and remember to also pay close attention to your symptoms, not just the lab results. A lab should be a part of a larger, overall protocol.

      Proton pump inhibitors, can cause SIBO, which is what they usually prescribe for GERD.
      GERD can sometimes be resolved by taking digestive enzymes, and increasing stomach acid, so the food doesn't sit in your stomach so long, that the acid starts coming up.

    I cured my Sibo symptoms by eating nothing but fruit and fruit juice that I juiced myself for two weeks straight. No more symptoms at all while eating only fruit and when I started back eating normally, I had a normal amount of gas but no bloat and nothing like before. I cut out the things that caused the most gas and bloat which was Kale, seaweed and over eating nuts. I don’t eat meat at all and I think Carnivore diet only works as long as you’re on the diet but will return after you start incorporating other foods. It only took me two weeks to cure although I recommend going as long as you can. The fruit only was an immediate relief from SIBO symptoms. I hope it can work for you too

I even ate some exotic fruit I’ve never tried before. Mono eating fruit each meal is best but I would mix fruit every other day. I felt amazing eating fruit only and lost ten pounds quickly. My sister had a water softener and filtration system installed, and I started having alot of digestive problems about a month after it was installed...heartburn, bloating, inflammation, fatigue, brain fog, joint pains, etc. I drink only water from the tap that has been filtered thru a PUR water filter. I've struggled with gut issues for a year now. Started off very severe where I couldn't go to school, non-stop crying, debilitating digestive issues. Went to my GP who said I could have IBS and gave me the low-fodmap diet hand-out. Tried that for a few months alternating cutting certain food groups out, nothing. Cut milk out which helped a bit. Went to another doctor who prescribed me some buscopan for my stomach pain, didn't seem to know what to do with me. Went to a paediatrician and got tested for allergys/intolerances, was told nothing was wrong with me and that it was "just anxiety". Cut out gluten on my own for months which has improved my symptoms but not fully. A week ago my symptoms came back + severe bloating after meals. Went back to my GP and I said I suspect SIBO, he had no clue what it was. Going to see a trained dietician who specialises in SIBO, hopefully will get answers soon.

Look into it and if you do diet and finding the root cause. Mine was created by antibiotics and antacids which made room for gut issues. I’m eating no fruits or veggies for a month to get it under control. I’m only on day 3 and feel much better. No eggs, no dairy, no gluten or bread. Just meat and salmon. Only carb I’m doing is jasmine rice or basmati rice. Avocado with every meal. Take a digestive enzyme with each meal. First thing when I wake up I juice a couple of stalk of celery since it fights off bacteria and increase HCL acid. I add specs of ginger and turmeric root not powder to my 2 meals a day. Nothing too late to fast for atleast 16 hours. I take oil of oregano and berberine in the evenings and something chew on ginger in the evenings too. It’s working so far so may do something similar.

    Officially got a breath test with methane SIBO as positive two months ago. I can confirm that brain fog is one of the consequences. I was thinking that maybe I was starting to have Alzheimer disease but now I think it's related to SIBO. Now trying the herbal, low-fodmap and elemental diet to try to kill this. If it's not fixed in 5-6 weeks I'm going to ask for the antibiotic.

    Question: Can a symptom of SIBO be high blood pressure, specifically medication resistant, fluctuating (labile) high blood pressure? This is one of my symptoms, as well as systemic inflammation and over-active autonomic nervous system. Over the past 5 years I have taken innumerable supplements, including probiotics, a rifaximin treatment, and every type of diet imaginable, except an elemental fast. I have had at best, minimal improvement, but short-lived, but mostly, no improvement, in any of my symptoms. Of my symptoms, the most worrisome is the high blood pressure and GERD, a long with a whole body neuropathy. All symptoms increase dramatically with stress, and my stress response is on a hair-trigger. Thanking you in advance for any insight.

    Hey doc. I’ve had Sibo on and off since 2012 (that I know of). Started off hydrogen and had nonstop diarrhea for 8 months. Lost over 30lbs and weighed 80 at my lowest. It developed into methane Sibo and have had it since. About a week ago I’ve been dealing with what started off as diarrhea with completely undigested food and has since been a mixed of being constipated while still having a ton of gas, diarrhea mixed with hard stool and still undigested food floating in the bowl. I also have extreme urgency when it comes upon me. It seems like ibs-m but wondering if that’s even possible with methane Sibo or if something more is going on? I can’t get in to see a gi dr until a few months (I tried already) and need some guidance😢

      I’m also a specialist. What I would advice is, do everything you can to get a healthy bacterial balance again. Try to completely avoid sugar. Nothing sweet at all for a couple of weeks. Also avoid carbs. Dairy is better avoided although a little natural yogurt can be ok.
      The main nutrition while you are testing if this remedy will work should be boiled meats with onion, garlic, cayenne pepper or whatever helps you enjoy it. Also consume large amounts of fresh ginger, garlic and onion if they don’t cause irritation for you.
      As far as supplements are concerned, the recommendation I would give considering the possibility of worms or parasites is:
      Wormwood
      Black walnut tincture
      Garlic
      Cloves
      Oil of oregano
      Good luck!

Only bad breath, with brain fog and tiredness. The thing is i have been suffering from bad breath since i was a kid. So now I know I had SIBO for decades ( Im 27 now). The question is how come and why? How come for severe SIBO only bad breath is the only main symptom without any bowl irritation. Knowing that I once did keto diet for 3 months and my bad breath wasnt even slightly reduced. Any scientific explanation for that? Also adhesions and history of food poisoning, looking at getting Anti-vinculin antibody test to prove chronic SIBO. Doing everything I'm supposed to, from Prokinetics, the right probiotics, rounds of meds and herbals (has decreased but won't go away) intermittant fasting, SIBO diet, etc. etc. Also have leaky gut, and working on that. I wondered if you saw recent media coverage of a certain gene coding for IBS, anxiety or depression or any combo of the 3? Just wondering if you think that is a possible cause? Thanks for information. What does it mean if probiotics make someone bloat more?

    • @DrRuscioDC
      @DrRuscioDC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can happen as an initial reaction that levels off after a week or so. Or it could be a response to the ingredients of that specific probiotic. For example, I know someone who had that reaction and discovered the probiotic they were taking contained dairy, so once they switched it worked for them.
      If it's still causing bloat, then I would hold off until your gut is in a better place (eg getting on an anti-inflammatory diet). Hope that helps!

So I do have a video where I talk about this: th-cam.com/video/JKUk5Vc1Lxw/w-d-xo.html And I also have an article that goes into more detail as well. Hopefully that can give you some guidance! drruscio.com/sibo-probiotics/

      Cooked vegetables like stew,lean meat, eggwhites.
      White rice.
      They are easily digested.
      Eat those.
      Eat berberine, oregano oil, garlic.
      Start you day with boiled apple with clove without skin.
      Never eat raw food, no nuts also, no dairy.
      Eat it till your bloating goes away.

      Berries you want contact to your naturalpath.
      Example some berries are given to cow when they have sibo.
      You might want to have those.
      Or their leaves.
      Else no fruits until it is healed.

    @DrRuscioDC during my colonoscopy the Dr. found diverticuli in the intersection between my large and small intestine and could see some diverticuli in the extreme lower portion of my small intestine also. I had a breath test and had significant levels of both methane and hydrogen. Are they any ways to get rid of the diverticuli in those portions of the intestines. I have bloating from most foods, alternating diarrhea and constipation, brain fog, fatique, anxiety and have lost 20 lbs which I couldn't afford to loose, I don't know what to do next? Can they take out the junction of the small intestine to the large intestine and also can they check how far the diverticuli go up into my small intestine?

    • @deeT02
      @deeT02 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can do a ct scan and it will show the diverticulitis. It did on mine.

      Had my junction (ileum) removed and it’s been hell. Chronic diarrhea ever since. All due to Crohn’s with blockages and fissures. The surgery saved my life. But I would talk to the doctor before taking such drastic action.

    How about a weird vibration feeling in the brain? I've got all the stuff you just spoke on there and I'm working on it through your great in 8 program but I live in the U.P. where there is very little progressive or even high quality medical care for things like GI health. I won't torture you with the horror stories but I'm kinda on my own with this. Looking for a good practitioner. Anyway, recently been feeling very uneasy and started having this awful vibration in my head that moves around and is kind of also a feeling of a moving pressure or arterial thrill but moving around inside my head in a specific pattern. Perhaps my gut has generated anxiety?

    I am wondering what is the best way to figure out what is going on in my system because I have been following diligently Whole30 and did my complete 30 days, however, at the end I was not seeing what they outline as results. I have not yet been diagnosed with SIBO, however, with the research I have done I am pretty confident I have this and possibly also parasites. I feel so lost as to how to really regain my health. I have done so much reading and research. When I listened to the interview that Melissa did with you from Whole30, I ordered your book and also the audiobook. I just feel overwhelmed with how much more I need to cut out. I wish there was an actual protocol to follow. Would it just be best to start with the Elemental Heal protocol?

    • @DrRuscioDC
      @DrRuscioDC  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey there. I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling. I do have a protocol in my book, and it begins with an Elemental Heal reset. So I suggest you check out the protocol. If it's a parasite, however, you should definitely talk to your doctor. I had one of those myself, I understand how defeating it can feel. I'll also link an article here about parasites: drruscio.com/protozoan-parasite/, but again, I suggest you talk to your practitioner who can get you tested for that.
